Suk-Ho Choi is a professor in Dept. of Applied Physics at Kyung Hee Univ. (KHU). He received BS from Seoul National Univ. and MS/PhD from KAIST in Korea. He spent sabbatical years atNIST in USA,Australian National Univ., and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. He worked as a director at Institute of Natural Sciences at KHU for 10 years, and was appointed asFellow Professor from2009. He has established two major areas of research, one on the optical and electrical properties of low-dimensional nanostructures such as quantum dots/nanowires/graphene/2D-related materials, and the other on their applications in optoelectronic devices.He has published over 225 papers.

Dr.Hongqi Sun is the Professor of Chemical Engineering and Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow (2016-2019), at School of Engineering, Edith Cowan University, Australia. He is the 2019 Highly Cited Researcher (Web of Science Group).He serves as the Associate Editor of RSC Advances, and Speciality Chief Editor of Frontiers of Nanotechnology. His research interests include novel catalysis (photocatalysis, photo-thermal catalysis, photo-electro-chemical catalysis, and membrane catalysis) and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) over nanostructured materials for solar-to-chemical conversion and environmental remediation.So far he has published over 200 refereed journal papers and received over 16,600 citations and a h-index of 78 (Data from Google Scholar in November 2020).

Professor Guosheng Shao is the Director of the State Centre for International Cooperation on Designer Low-carbon & Environmental Materials (CDLCEM) at the Zhengzhou University, China. He is also the Founding Director of the Zhengzhou Materials Genome Institute (ZMGI, 2016-), Editor-in-Chief for Energy & Environmental Materials (Wiley, 2018-), and Visiting Professor to the University of Surrey, UK (2018-). He earned his PhD in materials science at the University of Surrey in 1995 and thereupon worked as a research fellow and senior research fellow, until transferring to Brunel University as Reader in Materials in 2005. He joined the University of Bolton as Professor of Materials Modelling & Simulation in 2007, and then established the Institute for Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies (IREET, 2011) as its founding director, together with the responsibility as Head of Engineering etc. His academic interest is “designer” materials and application devices, which is characterized by multi-scale modelling, advanced characterization techniques esp. TEM, EELS and XPS, and advanced thin film coating technologies. His current focus is mainly on sustainable (renewable) energy systems and environmental technologies. He is also proactive in bridging academic knowledge with manufacturing, resulting in commercialization of inventions covering mass production of almost defect-free graphene powders and graphene thin films, their applications and processing facilities

Prof. Víctor M. Castaño is a recognized international leader in several areas of applied science and technology . He holds a B.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He spent 2 years at IBM´s Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York as postdoctoral fellow. He has been a lecturer at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Faculties of Chemistry, Sciences, Engineering, Accounting and Administration and Dentistry), Universidad Autonoma de Querétaro (Faculties of Engineering, Medicine, Accounting and Administration, Psychology and Law), the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Faculty of Physico-Mathematical Sciences), the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Instituto Tecnológico de Querétaro, etc. He was the founding Director of the Center for Applied Physics and Advanced Technology of the UNAM in Juriquilla, Querétaro. Prof. Castaño has published more over 750 articles in international refereed and indexed journals, 242 articles in conferences proceedings, 22 book chapters, 5 books and 25 patents. It has 678 papers presented at conferences and 51 technical reports to various industries. He has been advisor to over 190 B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, the USA, Canada, Spain and Germany. His work has received over 15,000citations, especially in the last few years, when some of his pioneering contributions have begun to have great repercussion and have led him to receive international awards and recognitions and he is one of the most cited Latinamerican scientists in his area. In this respect, it is important to emphasize the fact that Víctor Castaño is an engineer and scientist of great originality, who dares not only to explore subjects that do not represent the fashion of international science, but also has the capacity of having his proposals receiving worldwide attention. He is Associate Editor of several prestigious international journals and Editor-in-Chief of Recent Patents in nanoMedicine. He is Treasurer, by election, of the International Council for Materials Education and has been a member of several evaluation commissions in Mexico and abroad (United States, Canada, Spain, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, etc.).Probably the areaswhere Prof. Castaño is best known is in materials science and biomedicine, where he invented a very extensive line of new materials and technologies for various applications.

Prof. Zhongfan Liu got his PhD in University of Tokyo in 1990. He is now the BOYA Chair Professor of Peking University in chemistry, the Director of Beijing Graphene Institute, and the Vice President of Chinese Chemical Society. His research interest focusses on low dimensional carbon materials, including the CVD growth of graphene and single-walled carbon nanotubes and their unique applications. Prof. Liu has published over 630 peer-reviewed articles and over 130 patents. His recent contributions to graphene areas include, superclean graphene, super graphene glass, graphene optical fiber and photochemical band structure engineering of graphene. The major academic awards he received include, National Natural Science Awards (2008, 2017), Chinese Chemical Society-AkzoNobel Chemical Science Award (2012), Baogang Outstanding Teacher Award (2012), the Lectureship Award of 2016 Colloid and Surface Chemistry Annual Meeting of Chemical Society of Japan, Beijing Municipal Excellent Teacher (2017), and the 2018 ACS Nano Lectureship Award. He was elected as the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011 and as one of the six outstanding scientists in Ten-Thousand-Talents Program in 2013. Prof. Liu is the Fellow of the Institute of Physics (UK, 2004), the Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (UK, 2014) and the Fellow of TWAS(2015).

Yanlin Song is a professor in the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS). He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemistry at Peking University in 1996. Then he conducted research as a postdoctoral follow in the Department of Chemistry of Tsinghua University from 1996 to 1998. He has been working at ICCAS since 1998. His research interests include nano-materials and green-printing technology, printed electrics and photonics, fabrication and applications of photonic crystals. He has published more than 360 academic papers in scientific journals, 2 books and 10 chapters, and has been granted more than 100 patents from China, USA, European Union , Japan and Korea, etc. Research Interests: Nanomaterials, Photonic Crystals, Green Printing Technology, Printed Electronics

Dr. Shu YIN received a B. S. degree in inorganic chemical engineering from the Dalian University of Technology in 1987. He received his M. S. degree in chemical metallurgy from the Institute of Chemical Metallurgy (ICM, latterly Institute of Process and Engineering, IPE), Chinese Academy of Science in 1990, then worked as a research associate for 2 years at ICM. He came to Japan and worked as a research fellow in the Hydrothermal Chemistry Research Laboratory, Kochi University in 1992, then became a research assistant at the Institute for Chemical Reaction Science (ICRS), Tohoku University during 1995-1997. He received a Ph.D. degree in applied chemistry from Tohoku University (research period shortened) in 1999. He has been a research assistant at the ICRS in 1999, then a lecture and associate professor at the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM), Tohoku University in 2005, and then a full-time professor in 2016. His research interests include morphological control of nanostructured materials, photocatalytic materials, UV/IR-shielding smart window materials, 2D gas sensing materials, hydrothermal/solvothermal process, soft chemical synthesis etc.

Dr. Gao Liu is the Group Leader of the Applied Energy Materials Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, specialized in energy storage R&D. Dr. Liu has over 20 years of experience in developing materials and system engineering for electrical energy storage, and has led research projects for the U.S. Department of Energy and industry. Dr. Liu’s lab combines synthetic chemistry, composite engineering and electrochemistry to solve interdisciplinary problems in energy generation, storage and usage. The research team uses advanced diagnostics to understand fundamental and critical issues in energy systems, as well as synthetic techniques to develop new materials that improve overall system performance. The team’s on-going researches in battery and energy storage include Si materials and electrode, electrolytes and additives, and solid-state conductors. Besides energy storage research, the team also performs materials and engineering research in building resiliency, circular economy, and advanced manufacturing. Dr. has over 170 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 granted patents.

Professor Alexander Seifalian CEOand Professor Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine Commercialisation Centre (Ltd) London BioScience Innovation Centre, London, United Kingdom Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a year at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at the treatment of liver cancer. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers and registered 14 UK and International patents. On editorial boards of 41 journals. He supervised 121 PhD students, all successfully completed. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career, Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include the development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. Currently, he is working on the development and commercialisation of human organs using graphene-based nanocomposite materials and stem cells technology. Recently he has commercialised a novel functionalised graphene oxide for medical and other industrial applications and synthetic graphene-based nanocomposite materials for surgical and medical devices application. He is currently working on the development of facial organs, heart valves and tendons.

Prof. Dr Irina V. Antonovagraduated from the Novosibirsk Technical University in 1979. Since 1981 she has been working at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science and presently sheoccupies a leading researcher position. I.V. Antonova received her Ph. D. in 1990 and in 2009, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation. The scope of current researchand professional activities of I.V. Antonova and her group include chemical functionalization of graphene, fluorinated graphene, graphene-based heterostructures, graphene quantum dots, transport, and recharging phenomena, 2D printed technologies. Presently, Prof. Dr Irina V. Antonova has about340 publications, that have been cited over 1500 times, and her publication H-index is 16 (WoS) or 17(Scopus).

Pei Kang Shen is a Professor and Director at the Collaborative Innovation Center of Sustainable Energy Materials in Guangxi University, China. Dr. Shen obtained his BSc degree in Electrochemistry at Xiamen University in 1982, and he continuously carried out his research and teaching at the same university for seven years before he became a visiting researcher in the United Kingdom. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Essex University in 1992. From then on he has been working at different universities both in UK, Hong Kong and China. Since 2001, he has been the Professor at the Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou, China). He is the author of over 460 publications in qualified journals like Chem. Rev.; Chem. Soc. Rev.; J. Am. Chem. Soc.; Adv. Mater.; Adv. Funct. Mater.; Energy Environ. Sci.; Adv. Energy Mater., ACS Nano, J. Mater. Chem.; J. Power Sources, including 35 ESI （Highly Cited Papers, 1%） papers and 4 Hot Papers (0.1%) and specialized books (9 in English and Chinese), of 80 patents, and of more than 150 meeting presentations. He is a Highly Cited Scholar in Energy Science in the world for six years (2014-2019). He has organized eight international conferences on Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion as a conference Chairman which were promoting the development of electrochemical science in China. He is now working in Guangxi University. He has won the titles of Guangxi Bagui Scholar, National May Day Labor Medal. He pays attention to academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad, pays attention to the combination of production, study and research, aims at the needs of the country, and attaches great importance to the industrialization of achievements. A pilot plant with an annual output of 15 tons of graphene has been set up in Nanning High-tech Zone to build the world's first graphene composite asphalt road. His research interests include fuel cells and batteries, electrochemistry of nanomaterials and of nanocomposite functional materials, like graphene powders for different applications and electrochemical engineering. He has also obtained the Second prize in National Natural Science Award of China in 2013 and the First prize in Natural Science Award of Guangdong Province in 2011 and Guangxi Province in 2019.

Filippo Giubileo currently works as Researcher at the Institute for Superconductors, Innovative Materials and Devices (SPIN) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), since 2004.He has the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. He has been member of the scientific evaluation panel for the Flag-Era Joint Transnational call on graphene basic research. His research activity deals with electrical properties of 1D and 2D materials and their application as field effect transistors, photodetectors, chemical sensors, field emitters. His expertise includes advanced surface analysis on nanometer scale by scanning probe microscopy/spectroscopy in high magnetic field and variable temperatures, fabrication and characterization of superconducting heterostructures, pairing symmetry and electronic properties in superconductors. FG is listed in the World Top 2% Scientist classification by PlosBiology. He has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He was Chair-Organiser for 6 international conferences (ISMN08, SM-2010, S4E-2014, GM-2016, TTN-2018, NANO M&D-2019). Jae-Jin Shim received his BS degree from Seoul National University in Korea in 1980, MS degree from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1982, and PhD degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He worked as a research scientist (1982-1986) and as a senior research scientist (1991-1994) at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST).He has been a professor at Yeungnam University since 1994 and served as School Chairman and Vice-Dean of Engineering. He also served as the President of the Korean Society of Clean Technology, Vice President of the Korean Society of Engineering Education, and a Local Chapter President of the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers. He has been the Directors of the Institute of Clean Technology and the Clean Energy Priority Research Center supported by Ministry of Education of Korea. His current research interests are synthesis and applications of graphene(or carbon nanotube and carbon nano-onion)-based nanomaterials for energy storage (supercapacitors), catalysts, and sensors; syntheses of polymers and organic materials using supercritical fluids and ionic liquids; living polymerization in supercritical fluids and ionic liquids; and clean technology.Wide range of three dimensional oxides, sulfides, and phosphides of mono, binary, and ternary transition metals as well as 2D MOF, LDH, and MXene are being studied. Water splitting and wastewater treatment using heterojunction photocatalysts have also been studied.

Ke-Qiu Chen received his Ph.D degree in the institute of physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. Postdoctoral research fellow at Tsinghua University in 2001 to 2003. In 2003 to 2005, he contributed as an associate professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was promoted to professor in 2005 at Hunan University. He is currently a professor and vice director in school of physics and electronics science at Hunan University. His research focuses on nanoscale transport theory, phonon devices, organic electronic devices, and the thermoelectric conversion in both organic and inorganic materials. He has published over 260 papers.

Yong Zhang received his B.S. and M.S. from Xiamen University and Ph.D. from Dartmouth College in Physics. He joined National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in 1994 as a postdoc and was a Senior Scientist before he moved to University of North Carolina at Charlotte as Bissell Distinguished Professor with Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in 2009. He is an Adjunct Professor of Department of Physics and Optical Science. His research interests include electronic and optical properties of semiconductors and related nanostructures, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, impurity and defects in semiconductors, and novel materials and device architectures for energy and related applications (e.g., photovoltaics, solid-state-lighting, electronic-photonic integrated circuits), using various optical spectroscopy techniques and large-scale first-principles and empirical electronic structure modeling methods. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Prof. Chen received his Ph.D. degree in engineering mechanics from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1999. He worked as a postdoc researcher in Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, during 1999 – 2001. He joined Beijing Institute of Technology in 2001. He is currently a professor and dean of school of mechatronics engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology.His research activities primarily focus on synthesis of graphene and nanocarbon materials using dynamic loading methods. He has published 2 monographs and 3 book chapters, and over 130 papers in refereed international journals.

Dr Qiong Cai is a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at University of Surrey (UK). Prior to joining Surrey, she was a research associate at Imperial College London working on electrochemical energy devices. Her education background includes a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Edinburgh (UK), MEng degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University (China). Shehas been researching actively at the interface of materials science and electrochemical engineering. Her current research focuses on multi-scale materials modeling and design for energy conversion and storage. She has been involved in five UK research council funded projects worth over £9 million, as PI and Co-I. She has supervised and is supervising 6 postdocs and 8 PhD students as the primary supervisor, and has published more than 60 papers in peer-review journals. She is on the Scientific Board of the H2FC SUPERGEN Hub, the Scientific Board of the Energy Storage SUPERGEN Hub, and a member of the EPRSC peer review college.

Laura Ballerini research focuses on the interactions between neurons and nanomaterials or bioactive-nanodevices. Her scientific strategy is the convergence between biophysics, nanotechnology, chemistry and neurophysiology, potentially leading to a new generation of nanomedicine applications in neurology. After a post doc at UCL, she became associate and then full professor in physiology at the International School for Advanced Studies-SISSA, Trieste, Italy.

Ebrahim Mahmoudi obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2017 Currently, Dr. Mahmoudi is working as a senior lecturerat National University of Malaysia. Dr. Mahmoudi is doing research in the field of separation and purification using novel polymeric membranes and membrane bioreactors. His research interests are in the area of synthesis and characterization of graphene and graphene-related nanomaterials, and employment of graphene in purification and separation technology, Specifically Novel polymers enhanced using graphene-related materials and their application in various fields including membrane-based separations,waste treatment, Antimicrobial, and Adsorption, using patented graphene coated sand (GSC) and graphene nanocomposites etc. Dr. Mahmoudi is the author of a few bookchapter, more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, 10 conference presentation, 1 published and 1pending patents and winner of more than 10 awards in international competitions. Dr. Guodong (David) Zhan is currently a Science Specialist and the Team Leader of Drilling Technology Team at the Exploration & Petroleum Engineering Center - Advanced Research Center, Saudi Aramco. Dr. Zhan is a world-renowned materials scientist and expert in advanced drilling tools/technology. He has over 25 years of experience in industrial R&D and managerial positions, including positions as Chief Engineer and R&D Manager at top oil/gas and semiconductor global companies such asSchlumberger and Applied Materials. Additionally Dr. Zhan has held academic positions at the University of London and the University of Colorado at Boulder, and staff scientist positions at the Japan National Institute for Materials Science and Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Science. Dr. Zhan is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE), where he serves on several conferencesas co-chair and technical committee member. He received many prestigious academic and industrial awards such as E&P Hart Energy Award and IoT World Award. Dr. Zhan is also serving as an editorial board member and reviewer for a number of international scientific journals. Dr. Zhan has published in 90+ peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Materials and Scientific Reports, 90+ conference proceedings, and holds more than 90 filed/granted US patents with citations of 4,858 and an H-index of 35.

In 2016 he received his B.Sc. Degree in Industrial Chemistry with honour from Universita´degli Studi di Roma ”La Sapienza” (Italy). In 2018 he received his M.Sc. Degree in Clinical, Forensic and Sport Chemistry with honour and special mention from Universita´degli Studi di Torino (Italy). His Master Thesis focused on study of the main reactions leading to porous reduced graphene oxide, a rather novel material produced by thermal activation of graphene oxide when in presence of alkali. Characterization of this material showed the possibility of tuning its pores sizes, also for potential production of membranes for water treatment. He conducted most of his research work at the Department of Chemistry and Bioscience of Aalborg University (Denmark). This work has been recently published in Nanomaterials. The following year he worked as laboratory technician in the drinking water section of Milan province aqueduct handler (Italy), where he could deepen his knowledge about national and European legislation in the field of drinking waters and distribution systems; he had also the possibility to specialize in drinking waters analyses. In 2020 he was appointed PhD Fellow at the Build Environment Department of Aalborg University in the framework of the MONPLAS project (EU H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019, Marie Sk lodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks). His current research aims to develop new analytical methodologies for micro- and nanoplastics identification and quantification in drinking waters, so to study their degree of diffusion in relation with common distribution networks.

Dr. Mineo Hiramatsu received his Ph.D. from Nagoya University, Japan in 1987, and thereafter started his professional career as research associate of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Meijo University, Japan. He is a Full Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Meijo University since 2006. His main fields of research are plasma diagnostics and plasma processing for the synthesis of thin films and nanostructured materials. He served as chairman and member of organizing and scientific committees of international conferences on plasma chemistry and plasma processing. Author of more than 150 scientific papers and patents on plasma processes for materials science. He was awarded the Japan Society of Applied Physics Fellow in 2017.

Pablo Martin was born in Madrid, Spain, on June 30,1937. High School, Madrid, Spain (1947-53). He moved to Santiago, Chile on 1956. He has been Researcher and Professor at the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela, 1974-2014, and Universidad de Antofagasta, Chile, 2014 until now. He is also President of Tecnología Omega C.A., Venezuela (2000-). He has been Visiting Professor several times at the Imperial College ( London, UK), UCLA ( U. California, USA) and U. Campinas (Estdo. Sao Paulo, Brasil). He has been Collaborator for one year in Los Alamos National Laboratory (1989-90) ( T-11 group, directed by A. R. Bishop), USA. He has published or edited 4 books, one of them “Plasma Physics” ( KLUWER ACADEMIC PUBLISHERS, 1997; pp. 545). He has received some Venezuelan Awards in Sciences: Andres Bello, 2000 and 1993, Universidad Simon Bolivar(USB); Francisco Torrealba, USB,1994; and CONICIY ( mencion especial) 1977. He has been Referee and Reviewer in several scientific journals. Chairman of the VII Latinamerican Workshop on Plasma Physics, Caracas, Venezuela (1997).He is author of three different International Invention Patents (New left aligner for linotype molds, Automatic and Continuous Change-Speed Mechanism, Process for Recovering Use Lubricating Oils Using Clay and Centrifugation) two of them in USA, as well as other countries: Chile, USA(2 invention patents), France, England, Italy, Spain, Venezuela and Brasil.

In 2006, Dra. Maria Antonia Herrero Chamorro obtained the European PhD degree in the UCLM. Her first postdoctoral stay (granted by JCCM) was performed on the University of Graz (Austria) under the supervision of Prof. O. Kappe with the aim of the achievement of a comprehensive and well-design study of the “microwave effect” (published a JOC paper, highly cited). Her second Postdoctoral stay (granted by JCCM) was performed under the supervision of Prof. M. Prato at the University of Trieste on the design of new nanomaterials for application in medicinal chemistry and/or material science. During this second postdoctoral stay, she maintained an active colaboration with the MSOC Nanochemistry group in the UCLM and once she had ended this postdoctoral stay, she joined this group, which uses microwave radiations for the activation of carbon nanostructures in solvent-free conditions, preparing multifunctional derivatives that can serve as versatile synthons in materials science and biological applications. She has authored over 58 scientific publications (H=25), some book chapters and four scientific patents. She has participated in several international conferences with oral communications and poster presentations. In 2010 she received the award “women for science“ byL'Oreal-UNESCO and in 2011 “Ibn Wafid de Toledo“ Price for young researchers of Castilla-La Mancha. She was selected as “Ramon y Cajal” in 2010. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011. Recently, she obtained funding as principal researcher for the integration of carbon nanomaterials in solar cells and the design of new SERS systems based on CNHs by Iberdrola Fundation and the “Excma. Diputacion de Ciudad Real”, respectively. She is also involved in the prestigious Graphene European Project granted to the MSOC Nanochemistry group. On November of 2018, she was elected as President of the RSEQ of the CLM.

Dr. Nobuyuki ZETTSU is currently a professor in the department of materials chemistry, Shinshu University (JAPAN). He joined Prof. Younan Xia research group as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington after acquiring a Ph. D in polymer science from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2004. As an assistant professor at Osaka University, as an associate professor at Nagoya University, He has joined at Shinshu University from 2013 as an associate professor, and then a full-time professor in 2018. He had been named a “Rising star researchers” in Shinshu University at 2017. He has currently been working on the development of positive and negative electrode active materials for lithium-ion, and sodium-ion batteries from the viewpoint of surface functionalization. He has been achieving both C rate capabilities and cyclabilities in high energy density batteries via the development of "atomistic interface bonding technology" consisting of morphological control of active materials, multi-anion surface formation, ultra-thin solid electrolyte coating, and nanomaterials assembly.

Dr. Yong Xie joined the School of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology at Xidian University as a lecturer (assistant professor) in June 2014 and then became an associate professor in 2020. Jung-Chang Wang (J.-C. Wang) is a full Professor and Dean in the School of Marine Engineering (D.M.E.), National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Keelung, Taiwan, and is also the Director of the Thermal-Fluid Illumination Laboratory. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Mechanical PhD from National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan in 2007. He has been teaching and researching on electronic heat transfer and renewable energy for more than ten years. He has published more than 100 research papers in international journals, conferences and patents, and edited seven book chapters. His main research interest includes applied and software engineering in thermal-fluid science.

He received his master’s degree and Ph.D. degree at Shandong University in China in 1997 and 2003, respectively. Then he spends two years as a postdoctoral at State Key Laboratory of Polymer Physics and Chemistry, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2007, he worked at Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research as a visiting scholar in Prof. Hans-Jürgen Butt group. Jun Chen received the B.Sc. degree in microelectronics from Nankai University, Tanjing, China in 1988 and the M.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees, both in physics, from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China in 1991 and 2004, respectively. Hidekazu Kurebayashi is an Associate Professor in Electronic and Electric Engineering at UCL. He also leads a spintronics group in the London Centre for Nanotechnology. He received his PhD from University of Cambridge (2010), where he held Darwin College Research fellowship (2011), JSPS postdoctoral fellowship (2012) and JST-PRESTO research fellowship (2012-), before moving to UCL in 2013. Dr. Yongsheng Chen is a Professor and Director of the N.E.W. Center for AgTech in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Ricardo Paupitz is an Associate Professor at the São Paulo State University - UNESP (Brazil). Received his PhD in Physics from São Paulo University - USP (Brazil) in 2002. Robert Kudrawiec received the M.S. and Ph.D. (Hons.) degrees in physics from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST), Poland, in 2000 and 2004, respectively, and the D.Sc. (Habilitation) degree in physics from the Institute of Physics, WUST, in 2010. His Ph.D. thesis was devoted to dilute nitrides. During the M.S. and Ph.D. studies, he focused on applications of the modulation spectroscopy to investigate the band structure of low dimensional semiconductor heterostructures. From 2006 to 2007, he was a Post-Doctoral Scholar with Stanford University, Stanford, CA, where his research was centered on the band structure and defects in GaInNAsSb–GaAs materials. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Researcher with the Lawrence National Berkeley Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, where his activity was focused on novel III–V and II–VI materials dedicated for solar cell applications. Since 2018, he has been a full Professor with the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology, WUST. He has co-authored over 300 publications in refereed journals in his research areas. His current research interests include the application of photoreflectance, contactless electroreflectance, micro-photoluminescence, and time resolved photoluminescence spectroscopies to investigate the optical properties of GaN-based materials and low dimensional structures, and recently van der Waals crystals including graphene, h-BN, monochalcogenides, and dichalcogenides. Since 2017 he is associated with the Polish Center for Technology Development at Wroclaw, where he is working on UV light emitters.

Dr Estelina Silva is a Researcher at IFIMUP, Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Faculty of Science of the University of Oporto (Portugal). Prior to joining Oporto, she was at the Polytechnical University of Valencia with a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie individual Fellowship, working in direct collaboration with experimental groups on pressure-induced phase transitions of sesquichalcogenides. Her academic background includes a PhD degree from the University of Bath (UK); and a MSc and BSc degrees in Physics (Computational Modelling and Simulation), both from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Her main expertise is employing Density Functional Theory and lattice dynamics to study structural phase transitions under extreme conditions of crystalline materials (i.e. temperature, pressure, electric fields). Her current research focuses on modelling and design of inorganic perovskite and 2D systems (which include graphene-like materials) for energy conversion applications, namely for solar cells and photoelectrochemical cells (water splitting and H2 production). A tentative title for my presentation is: "Ab-initio studies of the electronic, phonon and thermal conductivity properties of graphene-like materials under perturbation".

Dr. Junfa Zhu is currently a professor in National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from USTC in 1999. After several years working in the Institute of Experimental Physics, Johannes-Kepler-Universität Linz, Austria, Lehrstuhl für Physikalische Chemie II, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany and Department of Chemistry, University of Washington, WA, USA, he returned to USTC and become a professor at NSRL, USTC in 2006 under the support of “Hundred Talent Program” of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests mainly focus on in-situ studies of surface chemistry, surface and interface structures and properties of functional materials using advanced surface science techniques including synchrotron radiation techniques. He has published more than 330 peer-reviewed papers with more than 12000 citations. His current H-index is 60.

Dr. Paul C.-P. Chao received his Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University, USA, and then with Chrysler Corp in Auburn Hill, Detroit, USA before joined National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan. He is currently a University Distinguished Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department at NCTU; a Distinguished Lecturer for IEEE Sensors Council, 2018 – 2020. His research interests focus on sensors, actuators and their readout circuitry. Dr. Chao has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers (books, journal papers, conferences, reports) and 38 patents. Dr. Chao was the recipient of the 1999 Arch T. Colwell Merit Award from Society of Automotive Engineering, Detroit, USA; the 2004 Long-Wen Tsai Best Paper Award from National Society of Machine Theory and Mechanism, Taiwan; the 2005 Best Paper Award from National Society of Engineers, Taiwan; the 2007 Acer LongTerm Award; the 2009 Best Paper Award from the Symposium on Nano-Device Technology; the 2010/2014 Best Paper Award from the Annual ASME Conference on Information Storage and Processing Systems (ISPS); the second most downloaded paper in IEEE Sensors Journal in 2011; the Best Poster Paper award of IDMC 2015; the prestigious Outstanding Research Award from National Association of Automatic Control in Taiwan in 2015; the prestigious National Innovation Award of Taiwan government 2016; The 2017 Best Industrial Project Award by Ministry of Science and technology, Taiwan government; The 2017 Presidential Outstanding Professor of Engineering in Nation (Taiwan) (awarded by the president of the nation in the Presidential House of Taiwan, ROC); Two 2017 Future Technology Awards (Taiwan Oscar Invention Award) from Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan Government; The 2018 Outstanding Professor of Electrical Engineering in Nation (Taiwan), National Association of Electrical Engineering, Taiwan; The second National Innovation Award of Taiwan Government in 2018; The Laureate of the MOST Outstanding Researcher Award, Ministry of Science and technology, Taiwan in 2019, equivalent to the NSF National Medal of Science in USA, the sole awardee in the area of Automation in the entire nation; The Technical Achievement Award, Sensors Council, IEEE, 2019; The Distinguished Institutional Award, American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), USA in 2019. Dr. Chao has served as University Associate Vice Presidents of NCTU for academic affairs (2009-2010) and research and development (2015); the Secretary General, IEEE Taipei Section, 2009-2010; the founding chair of Taipei chapter for the IEEE Sensor Council; Member-at-Large for IEEE Sensors Council, 2012-2014. Dr. Chao received major IEEE awards for this service: The IEEE Large Section Award from IEEE Head Quarter for the outstanding service as the Secretary for 2009-2010, and The IEEE MGA Award from IEEE Region 10 for outstanding service as the Secretary for IEEE Taipei Section, 2009-2010. He was the General Chair of the 2016 ASME ISPS and IoT conference in Santa Clara, CA, USA; chairs and co-chairs of major conferences. For editorial services, he is currently Topical Editors of IEEE Sensors Journal and IEEE IoT Journal. He was the Associate Editors of ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics and Journal of Circuit, System and Computer; guest editors of special journal issues. Dr. Chao received the award of the 2020 Best Topical Editor Award, IEEE Sensors Journal. He is a senior member of IEEE and ASME Fellow.

Prof.Dr. Suriani Abu Bakar is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) at UniversitiPendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia. She was also the former Director of UPSI Press. She also leads the Nanotechnology Lab at her workplace. Her research is in the field of Nanomaterials, Nanotechnology and Renewable focusing on the synthesis of carbon-based nanomaterials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes from bio-hydrocarbon and waste precursors. Her research also investigates its potential application in nanoelectronics such as in field electron emission devices, electrode materials for supercapasitor, dye-sensitized solar cell, membranes and adsorbent for water treatment application. Porf. Dr.Suriani’s research has resulted in 195 Scopus-indexed publications (Citation: 1409 and H-index: 20). While in ISI (Web of Science)-indexed she has 80 publications, 831 citation and H-index of 16 with publications cumulative impact factor of more than 160. She has won many research awards at international and national levels, and the most significant awards were L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowship 2013, MASS 2016 Young Researcher Award in Solid State Science and Technology by Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS), Malaysia Toray Science Foundation: Science Education Award for 2017, 2013 and 2011. Prof.Dr. Suriani has received various research grants including from international, private and public sector such as from TWAS-COMSTECH Joint Research Grants, Kurita Water and Environment Foundation, Japan, L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowships Grant, Malaysia Toray Science Foundation, Ministry of Education Malaysia, and Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change Malaysia. She was also appointed as a reviewer for various renowned international publishers. This include as editorial board for international and national journals. In term of collaboration, she actively involves with international partners around the globe especially Asia and Europe. She is always invited as keynote and invited speaker around ASEAN nations. Her motto in research is ‘To grow in science means making new discoveries that benefits mankind’. Prof.Dr. Suriani is a Doctor of Philosophy and Science (Physics) from UniversitiTeknologi MARA (UiTM) attached to a JSPS Program at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan in 2011.

Dorota Chudoba received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU), Poznań, Poland. In 2010,as a researcher from AMU,she has been delegated to the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP)Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna in Russia. Since 2012 she has been a head of the Inelastic Neutron Scattering Group and since 2013 FLNP Scientific Secretary. Her current research focuses on investigation of carbon nanomaterials and biologically active materials.

Luciana Di Gaspare is Associate Professor in Condensed Matter Physics at Roma Tre University, Department of Sciences. Her research activity has been focused on different fields of condensed matter physics, producing innovative contributions in fields such as graphene growth on Ge, epitaxial growth of high quality IV-IV semiconductor heterostructures, SiGe heterostructures at high Ge content, quantum transport study in low dimensional devices, optical, electronic and structural properties of semiconductor interfaces and heterostructures.

Born on 1964, graduated in Physics at the University of Trento (Italy) in 1990 I obtained my PhD in Physics at the University of Padova (Italy) in 1995. Since January 2005 I'm Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Trento. My experimental research activity is related to the study of the physical processes controlling the interaction of light gases with condensed matter. I prepared and studied Mg- based nanostructured materials for hydrogen storage, ceramic thin films as hydrogen barrier,polymer films for applications as gas separation membranes. My experimental skillsare on the construction of experimental apparatuses working in Ultra High Vacuum conditions, on the synthesis nanostructured materials in form of thin films (PVD, sol-gel, solution-casting), on the chemical-physical characterization of materials (Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy, Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis, X-Rays Diffraction, Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy) and on techniques such as Gas Phase Permeation, Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy and Sievert analysis.

Akichika Kumatani is an Associate Professor in Quantum Materials and Spintronics Laboratory at WPI-Advanced Institute for Materials Research (WPI-AIMR), Tohoku University (Japan).From 2020, he is cross appointed to WPI-International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) as an invited researcher, and also is bestowed the title of Tohoku University Distinguished Researcher. He received M. Eng. from King's College London (UK) in 2004 and Ph. D. from University College London (UK) in 2009. After working in NIMS, he joined to WPI-AIMR and Graduate School of Environmental Studies in Tohoku University. His research interests are surface and analytical science. In particular, he applied to study high-resolution electrochemical imaging technique for energy functional materials in secondary batteries and electrocatalysts on two dimensional materials.

Biographie: GassoumiBouzid received his BA in physical chemistry and his Master in quantum physics in 2015 atthe University of Monastir, Tunisia. He obtainedhis Ph.D. in Physics in December 2019, from the University of Monastir (Tunisia),after having performed theoretical work at University of Lyon 1-CNRS, (France). He haschosen as project the study of organic and inorganic materials for elaborating good performance sensors. His current research focusses onthe adsorption mechanism between the host and the selected guests.

Dr. Renhao Dong is a TUD Young Investigator and leads an independent research group at Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry and Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden, Technische Universität Dresden. He received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2008 and then doctor’s degree in physical chemistry in 2013in Shandong University (Jinan, China). Then, he joined Prof. KlausMüllen’s group as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Max Planck Institute forPolymer Research (Mainz, Germany) in August 2013. In 2015, he joinedProf. Xinliang Feng’s group as an Alexander von Humboldt FoundationFellow at TUD.In 01/2017, he was appointed as a research group leader of organic 2D materials in the Chair of Molecular Functional Materials.At present, he is an associate member of cfaed and PI of CRC-1415, SPP-1928 and ERC Starting Grant (FC2DMOFs).
