Dr. Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors. In 1980, graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University and was awarded MD. In 1985, maintained his Ph.D. as a Ph.D. student of the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr. Carlos Vaz de Melo was born in 1972, Brazil, and graduated from the Minas Gerais University Medical School in 1997. Between the years of 1998 and 1999, he specialized in digestive tract surgery and finished his Urology specialization in 2002. In 2006, he moved to Paris, France, in order to make a learning fellowship at the Intitute Mutualiste Montsouris, specializing at laparoscopic surgery. In 2007, Dr. Carlos returned to Brazil, and by the year of 2016, he concluded his Ph. D in Oncology at the Pio XII- Hospital de Câncer de Barretos Foundation. Nowadays, Dr. Carlos works at the Felício Rocho Hospital, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His work is focused on Uro-oncology and on minimally invasive surgery, and he also works as a proctor of Robotic Surgery. He has operated on approximately 1500 oncologic cases, applying minimally invasive surgical methods (laparoscopy or robotic).

Dr. Ruth S. Waterman is the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego. As a board-certified anesthesiologist, Waterman provides anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical or therapeutic procedures and diagnoses. She also treats acute and chronic pain and provides medical management for patients with critical illnesses and severe injuries. Dr. Waterman also serves as the Director of Anesthesiology for Perioperative Services at all surgical locations. Dr. Waterman came to UC San Diego with a research interest in how anti-inflammatory stem cells can help patients suffering from pain — a therapeutic approach for which she has co-founded a startup company and earned prestigious national awards. Since then, she has also implemented methods to personalize pain medicine based on pre-surgery genetic testing. Waterman's academic research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and books, including PLOS ONE and Stem Cell Translational Medicine. She holds a patent for “Germ-Resistant Communication and Data Transfer/Entry Products," a technology that is now used in products manufactured by Fellowes, Inc. and ThyssenKrupp. She also enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Waterman has received numerous recognitions for her efforts, including the Department of Anesthesiology Outstanding Teacher Award in 2016. In 2017, Waterman received the Physician of the Year award due to her outstanding work at UC San Diego Health, including her leadership during the licensing and opening of Jacobs Medical Center. Dr. Waterman completed her residency at Tulane University School of Medicine and earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. After completing a Research Fellowship in Anesthesiology at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, she joined that department, specializing in liver transplantation. In 2013, she moved to the University of California, San Diego, where she continues to specialize in liver transplant anesthesiology. Dr. Waterman sees a growing role for Big Data in her team’s ability to optimize patient care. Already her department is using predictive modeling and other techniques to better personalize their approaches to patient care, as they work to answer questions such as why some people experience more post-operative pain than others, how obesity plays a role in safe outpatient surgery, how depression might make it more difficult for a person to recover from surgery, and how different combinations of therapy may change a patient’s length of stay in the hospital.

Dinko Bagatin is an assistant professor, Poliklinika Bagatin, Department of surgery Zagreb, Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek, Croatia. He is the Department Head of Surgery, since 2015, and the Deputy Director of Bagatin Polyclinics. I have been a specialist in general surgery for 14 years and in plastic surgery for 12 years. He completed specialization at the University Hospital Zagreb “Rebro”, Surgery Department (2007), Plastic Surgery Department (2009). He is one of the founders (2002) and the first CEO of the Bagatin Polyclinic in Zagreb (2002 to 2015). In 2018, he has completed my Ph.D. with the topic: Comparison of thrombelastography findings in patients with invasive cancer and benign breast changes, University of Zagreb, School of Medicine (mentor Prof. Silva Zupančić Šalek, Ph.D.). April 8, 2020, he was appointed assistant professor at the faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek following the title lecture: BIA-ALCL - a disease associated with breast implants. What to do when we suspect a disease? His field of activity is mostly body and breast surgery and in this field, he is one of the leading surgeons in the region. In addition to this, his field of interest is in analgesia, most often related to surgery and patient safety. he has published several scientific papers and is writing several chapters in books in the field of his specialty.

Hirofumi Kawakubo is an Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine. He graduated trained Keio University School of Medicine in 1994 and trained as a medical doctor at the Keio University School of Medicine. He served as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Surgical Oncology, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 2002 to 2005. After six years as a staff surgeon in the associate hospital of Keio University School of Medicine, Dr. Kawakubo joined as a staff surgeon of the Department of Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine in 2011. His current interest in clinical work includes minimally invasive surgery, robot surgery, and endoscopic treatment for upper GI cancer.

Dr. Seiichiro Abe M.D., Ph.D., FASGE, FJGES received a medical degree from Sapporo Medical University in 2002. He completed his short-term and chief residency training at Endoscopy Division, National Cancer Center Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Abe specializes in the endoscopic diagnosis of early gastrointestinal cancer in addition to advanced endoscopic therapy, including EMR and ESD for esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancers. Furthermore, he serves as the co-editor in Endoscopy International Open, the associate editor in DEN Open, and the international editorial board in Endoscopy and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He contributed to scientific journals and congresses and received many best oral presentation awards and many best reviewer awards in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, VideoGIE, Endoscopy, Digestive Endoscopy, and Digestion.

Dr. dr. Dini Widiarni Widodo, Sp.THT, M.Epid is a Specialist Ear, Nose, Throat, Head, and Neck Surgery (ENT-KL) who graduated from the University of Indonesia with more than 20 years of experience. He is a member of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), the Asian Facial Plastic Surgery Society, and the Association of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (PERHATI-KL) dr. Dr. Minas Baltatzis was born in Athens, Greece in 1978. He graduated from Athens Medical School in 2004 and finished his training in General Surgery in 2013. He has an MSc in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgery and a Ph.D. qualification. In 2014 he moved to Manchester, United Kingdom, where he specialized in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery in Manchester Royal Infirmary for 6 years. He has a substantial research portfolio with more than 30 research articles published in international journals and innumerable talks and posters in national and international fora. Her passion is applying evidence-based practices in healthcare that works for providers and patients rather than impedes healthcare delivery. Previously, she held senior positions in quality improvement for many years in academic medicine gaining extensive experience in a broad set of organizational and incentive structures. Jordan P. Faulkner, Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London. The author/presenter studied at the University of Nottingham before completing the foundation program at South Tyneside District Hospital, UK, where this research was conducted. He has now moved on to a post in plastic surgery as stated above.

Yu Taniguchi M.D., PhD. is an assistant professor of the Department of Cardiology, Kobe University School of Medicine, and a director of the pulmonary circulation uniting Kobe UniversityHospital.He is a certificated BPA operator of the Japanese Circulation Society. He is concurrently an assistant professor of the department of Respiratory, Chiba University Hospital, and a lecturer of Department of Cardiology, Showa University Hospital. He graduated from Hiroshima University School of Medicine. After his residency as a cardiologist, he specialized in coronary intervention and pulmonary circulation. He joined the French National center for PH in South Paris University as a clinical fellow from 2015 to 2018, supported by Profs. GéraldSimonneau and Marc Humbert. He was engaged in the BPA program and clinical research regarding BPA in France and Japan.
