Didier Schmitt is head of the strategy and coordination group for human and robotic exploration at the European Space Agency. From 2009 to 2018 he was stationed in Brussels, successively in the European Commission Space Policy Unit, as adviser to the President of the EC on science technology foresight, and at the EU diplomatic service dealing with space and security. Previously he was head of Life Sciences for human spaceflight at ESA-ESTEC and beforehand Associate Professor at the Toulouse medical school and at the International Space Universit. His educational background is PhD in biosciences and certified medical doctor (including mountain emergency medical care and aerospace medicine). His academic work brought him to various places like Cape Canaveral for scientific experiments on Shuttle-Spacelab programme and to Star City near Moscow for experiments on the Mir space station. In 2016/17 he was part of an Antarctic inland logistics expedition. As a polpularizer, he Authored several books and was an active opinion writer in the top French press. In 2013 he also authored “All you need is Space”, a comic booklet by the EU, distributed at 1 million copies in 25 languages. More recently he started a fiction science comic series (Red Safari) and is chief editor of a magazine-book series on space and exploration (Mook Mars).

Marshall Smith is the deputy associate administrator for systems engineering and integration (DAA for SE&I) in NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEO) at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. In this role, Smith is responsible for translating the agency’s human space exploration vision into an integrated portfolio that supports national exploration goals and ensures sustainability and extensibility of current programs to long term strategic human exploration of the Moon and Mars. As the directorate’s senior engineer, Smith distills HEO-level architecture strategy into actionable program objectives and mission requirements for HEO organizations to implement. A key function of this position is integrating spaceflight activity across all HEO organizations to aggregate a knowledge base that results in an efficient and effective approach to implement NASA’s human spaceflight strategy. Prior to becoming the DAA for SE&I, Smith was NASA’s director of human lunar exploration programs. In this role, he oversaw the formulation activities of the Gateway program, lunar surface suit, the Human Landing System (HLS) program, and additional lunar surface assets under the Artemis program. Throughout Gateway and HLS formulation, Smith worked closely with NASA’s deep space transportation programs—the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, Orion crew vehicle, and Exploration Ground Systems—as well as the agency’s other programs and directorates to ensure that the agency’s technology and science objectives are jointly prioritized to meet the nation’s goals for leadership and pursuit of new knowledge in deep space. His team spanned every NASA center across the United States, identifying requirements, concepts of operations, architectures, and resolving technical issues associated with design, development, and operations of the integrated deep space systems. Before he was director of human lunar exploration programs, Smith served as the director of cross-program system integration for the Exploration Systems Development (ESD) Division at NASA Headquarters. In ESD, he was responsible for SE&I of SLS, Orion, and supporting ground systems and operations. Smith has served NASA for more than 36 years, working in flight simulation, aircraft, robotic, and human spaceflight systems. For the past 15 years, he has focused on human spaceflight, beginning as the space missions project office manager at the Langley Research Center, then as the Ares project office manager, followed by chief of Ares I-X SE&I. Smith received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Tennessee with a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is the recipient of the NASA Systems Engineering Excellence of the Year Award and the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal.

Professor Roberto Sabatini has three decades of experience in Aerospace, Defenceand Robotics/Autonomous Systems research and education, acquired in progressively more responsible industry, government and academic positions in Europe, North America and Australia.Throughout his career, he led several industry and government funded research programs and he authored or co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed international publications. Currently, Prof. Sabatini is listed in the top 2% most cited researchers globally in Aerospace and Aeronautics (Stanford University ranking, 2020). Prof. Sabatini is a Fellow and Executive of the Institution of Engineers Australia, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Fellow the Royal Institute of Navigation. He was conferred several professional and scientific awards, including: Distinguished Leadership Award – Aviation/Aerospace Australia (2021); Scientist of the Year – Australian Defence Industry Awards (2019); Science Award – Sustainable Aviation Research Society (2016); Arch T. Colwell Merit Award – Society of Automotive Engineers (2015); Scientific Achievement Award – NATO Research & Technology Organization (2008). In addition to various adjunct and consulting appointments in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa, Prof. Sabatini contributes to the broader professional and scientific aerospace community as Chair of the IEEE AESS Avionics Systems Panel, Editor for Progress in Aerospace Sciences, Senior Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, and Associate Editor for Robotica, the Journal of Navigation, and Aerospace Science and Technology.

Dr. Peyman Givi is Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and the James T. MacLeod Professor in Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously he held the rank of University Distinguished Professor in Aerospace Engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he received the Professor of the Year Award by Tau Beta Pi (2002). He also worked as a Research Scientist at the Flow Industries, Inc. in Seattle. Dr. Givi has had frequent visiting appointments at the NASA Langley & Glenn (Lewis) centers, and received the NASA's Public Service Medal (2005). He is amongst the first 15 engineering faculty nationwide who received the White House Presidential Faculty Fellowship from President George Bush. He also received the Young Investigator Award of the Office of Naval Research, and the Presidential Young Investigator Award of the National Science Foundation.

Weidong Zhu is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and the founder and director of its Dynamic Systems and Vibrations Laboratory and Laser Vibrometry Laboratory. He received his double major BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and Computational Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1986, and his MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and the University of California at Berkeley in 1988 and 1994, respectively. He is a recipient of the 2004 National Science Foundation CAREER Award. He has been an ASME Fellow since 2010, and has served as an Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics and the ASME Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, and as a Subject Editor of the Journal of Sound and Vibration and Nonlinear Dynamics. His research spans the fields of dynamics, vibration, control, applied mechanics, metamaterials, structural health monitoring, and wind energy, and involves analytical development, numerical simulation, experimental validation, and industrial application. He has published 237 SCI-indexed journal papers in these areas and holds five U.S. patents. He is a recipient of the 2020 University System of Maryland Board of Regents Faculty Award for Excellence in Research.

Dr. Dan Zhang is a Kaneff Professor and Tier 1 York Research Chair in Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at York University. Before joining in York University in January 2016, Dr. Zhang was a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Advanced Robotics and Automation, was a founding Chair of the Department of Automotive, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Engineering with the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science at University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University, Canada, in June 2000. Dr. Zhang's research interests include robotics and mechatronics; high performance parallel robotic machine development; sustainable/green manufacturing systems; rehabilitation robot and rescue robot. Dr. Zhang’s contributions to and leadership within the field of robotic and automation have been recognized with several prestigious awards, within his own university (Kaneff Professorship, Tier 1 York Research Chair in Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics, Research Excellence Award both from university level and faculty level), the Province of Ontario (Early Researcher Award), the professional societies (Fellow of CAE, Fellow of the ASME, Fellow of the EIC and Fellow of the CSME), and federal funding agencies (Canada Research Chair in January 2009 and renewed in January 2014). Besides, he was awarded the Inaugural Teaching Excellence by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science of UOIT in 2006 and the Best Professor Award by UOIT Engineering Students' Society in 2012. Dr. Zhang has published 207 journal papers and 177 conference papers, 12 books, 9 book chapters and numerous other technical publications. Dr. Zhang has served as a General Chair for 51 International Conferences and delivered 94 keynote speeches. Dr. Zhang is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), a Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and a Fellow of Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME), a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a Senior Member of SME.

Patrick Sherman is a pioneer in the drone industry, with 10 years of operational experience with uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS, otherwise known as “drones”). An award-winning speaker, writer and educator, he is a full-time Instructor of the Practice at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide Campus Department of Flight. He shares his knowledge and insights around the world. Recognized for his contributions with an individual Xcellence Award as the “Drone Instructor of the Year” by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), he has been quoted in the New York Times and the Washington Post as a drone expert. He is a certified Level 3 Remote Pilot Instructor (RPI) through the AUVSI Trusted Operator Program (TOP) and a DronePro serving with the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team (FAAST). Patrick is the author of more than 150 published articles about drones and their applications, which have appeared in magazines including RotorDrone, Drone360, Drones and Drone in the UK. He is also a regular contributor to Model Aviation, as the author of the Advanced Flight Technology column, read by the more than 250,000 members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). A top-rated speaker, he has given presentations at events across the United States and around the world, including: CES, AUVSI Xponential, Commercial UAV Expo, the Drone World Expo, Drones Data X, the Drone User Group Network National Conference, the International Drone Expo, AMA Expo West, as well as InterDrone, where he has been a featured speaker every year since the show's launch in 2015. In 2017, he was invited to the Middle East to speak at the Drones Oman conference in Muscat and to interview the deputy director of the United Arab Emirates civil defense UAS program. Always seeking opportunities to support the acceptance and growth of the drone industry, Patrick serves as a member of the AUVSI Cascade Chapter board of directors and is a founding member of the AMA's SUAS Task Force and the Oregon State Legislature's Drone Working Group. He is also a technical adviser to the DroneResponders public safety alliance, as well as an advisory committee member and brand ambassador for the AUVSI TOP program. Patrick is known to fans worldwide as “Lucidity,” the public face of the popular Roswell Flight Test Crew YouTube channel, which has more than 31,000 subscribers and nearly seven million video views. Sharing their adventures online since 2011, the crew promotes the safe, beneficial and non-intrusive use of drone technology. A master scuba instructor and licensed private pilot, he holds an undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Southern California in sociology and English, as well as an MBA with honors from Willamette University. He also holds a Part 107 Remote Pilot In Command (RPIC) certificate and is a certified Level 1 Thermographer.

Guoliang Huang is a James C. Dowell Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. Dr. Huang works in the broad area of Solid Mechanics and Architected Materials in particular the new frontiers of structural dynamics, topological mechanics, wave propagation, and dynamical behaviors of composite materials, both man-made and formed naturally. His recent research has been focusing on addressing challenges in development of passive and active metamaterials for wave propagation and noise control, mechanical topological insulator, vibration and sound mitigation, flow/structure interaction, aerodynamics, structural health monitoring, energy harvesting, bio-sensing, and among others. Dr. Huang is a renowned scholar in the emerging field of elastic and acoustic metamaterials and metacomposites. His work has pioneered a new class of active metamaterials with sensing, actuation and information processing and response and space-time modulated metamaterials for mechanical nonreciprocity. Dr. Huang has published more than 130 first class international journal papers in those fields (include Nature Reviews Materials, Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Advanced Materials, Physical Review Letters, Journal of Mechanics and Physics of Solids, et al.), one book, three chapters in book, and around 100 international conference publications. His research projects are funded by NSF, AFOSR, ARO, ONR, NASA, ARPA-E and major industries. He gave many plenary/keynote talks in many international and national conferences and served as organizing committee members. He is the fellow of international association of advanced materials (IAAMs) and he serves as Associate Editor of Wave Motion.

Fernando MAS (1959) obtained his Engineering degree (Industrial Engineer) at the University of Sevilla and his Ph.D. in Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is currently Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in M&M Group in charge of the Technology and R&D activities. Previously he was CTO in Comlux America LCC in Indianapolis - USA, senior advisor in Airbus A3 in Silicon Valley - USA and senior expert in R&D in Airbus Defense & Space - Spain. He is Associate Professor at the University of Sevilla and Associate Researcher at Polytechnic University of Madrid. His research topics are Models for Manufacturing, PLM, Virtual Engineering & Manufacturing and Digital Factory. He and owns patents in the EU and US and published more than 70 papers in refereed international journals and conferences.

Dr Wei Min Huang is currently an Associate Professor (tenured) at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. With over 20 years of experience on various shape memory materials (alloy, polymer, composite and hybrid), he has published over 190 papers in journals, such as Accounts of Chemical Research, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and Materials Today, and has been invited to review manuscripts from over 280 international journals (including Progress in Polymer Science, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Functional Materials, etc), project proposals from American Chemical Society, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, etc, and book proposals from Springer, Elsevier and CRC. He has published two books (Thin film shape memory alloys – fundamentals and device applications, Polyurethane shape memory polymers) and is currently on the editorial board of over three dozen of journals.

Dr. Mobasher’s main research interest is focused on the study of formation and evolution of galaxies using multi-waveband galaxy surveys obtained with 8-10 meter ground-based telescopes (Gemini, VLT, Subaru, Keck) and space facilities (HST, Spitzer, GALEX, Chandra). Using the observational data and stellar synthesis models, he studies properties of galaxies as a function of star formation rate, morphology, environment, color, luminosity and redshift. Over the past two years he has been involved in the following studies: developing the Balmer Break technique for identifying very high redshift massive galaxies, using the combined HST and Spitzer data; discovery of an extremely massive and evolved galaxy at z ~ 7 (this has been the subject of extensive press release); study of the density-morphology relation over the largest dynamic range in density, and its evolution with redshift; planning and execution of the new Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF), doubling the area and increasing the depth of the original HUDF; finding candidates for galaxies at z ~ 8 through searches for J-band dropouts in the new HUDF; study of the properties (SFR, mass, extinction) of high redshift galaxies selected through narrow-band Lyman emission (LAE) at z = 5.7 and comparison with Lyman Break Galaxies at the same redshift; developing a photometric redshift code to calculate redshift, spectral types and stellar masses of galaxies. He has been highly involved in the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey (GOODS) and The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) projects. Mobasher has also been leading parts of the new HST treasury project to survey the core and outskirt of the Coma cluster.

Essam Shehab is a Professor of Digital Manufacturing and currently the Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Department at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. Professor Shehab has sustained his strong research leadership with world-leading aerospace companies including Airbus and Rolls-Royce by collaborating consistently with both companies over the past 15 years and has generated an impressive over 100 research projects with both companies. The strategic research projects with Airbus and Rolls-Royce span from very innovative research (TRL1) to technology demonstration (TRL 6). Professor Shehab Generated 270 research publications including 72 refereed journal papers which have received over 10,800 Citations. His i10-index of 79 and h-index of 24, 33 and 28 by Scopus, Google Scholar and Research Gate respectively. He has successfully completed the supervision of 28 PhD theses and 5 MSc by Research theses, 106 MSc theses, 23 MSc group projects and 3 PgCert dissertations. Thirty of Professor Shehab’s 87 EngD/PhD and MSc students who have been sponsored by Rolls-Royce have been employed by the company before or immediately after completing their projects. Ten of Professor Shehab’s MSc students have won Best Thesis, Royal Academy of Engineering Panasonic Trust Fellowship, BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Excellence awards. Professor Shehab has secured 110 research projects (£15.91m in total of which £5.6m as Principal Investigator) from Government grants (UK, EU and overseas) and industry. Professor Shehab has been invited as keynote speaker in a number of international conferences, won awards from a number of international conferences and journals. He served as an Associate Editor-In-Chief of Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) – Part B Journal of Engineering Manufacture. He is also an Editorial Board Member, a Guest Editor of special issues and a reviewer of a number of international journals. He has acted as the General and Programme Chair of 8 international conferences. Professor Shehab is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Association of Cost Engineers (ACostE), and a member of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate. He was a member of the ACostE council and the Chair (2014 – 2018) of ACostE company members advisory board. Professor Shehab is serving as an External Examiner over a 4-year period for Queen’s University Belfast (2012 – 2016), Teesside University (2014-2019) and University of Leicester (2018 – 2022) for MEng/BEng Mechanical and Manufacturing programmes. He acted as an external examiner for over 30 PhD theses. He was elected as Vice-Chair (2015-2017) of Kimberley 16-19 STEM College Advisory Board and a Director (2017- 2019) of the Holywell Middle School Board of Directors, Cranfield, Bedford.

Professor Vahdati is the Principal Research Fellow in the Thermo-Fluids Division. He has over 30 years of experience in developing numerical models for aerodynamics and aeroelasticity. Prior to his current position, he led the aeroelasticity group at Rolls-Royce Vibration University Technology Centre (VUTC) at Imperial College. During this time, his group developed the aerodynamics and aeroelasticity Code AU3D, which is used at all Rolls-Royce sites (UK, USA, Germany and India) as the only code for aeroelastic analysis. Every Rolls-Royce engine since the late 1990s has utilised this code during its development including the entire Trent engine family, this has led to considerable savings for Rolls-Royce. He was awarded the position of Rolls-Royce Research Fellow in ImperialCollege (first person to receive this award) for my services to the company. He has been a partner in major UK/European turbomachinery projects. He is associate editor of Journal of Turbomachinery, Journal of Thermal Science and member of scientific committee at ISUAAAT.

Alon Gany is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. He was the holder of the Fohrman Chair in Aeronautical Engineering and the Head of the Fine Rocket Propulsion Center for 18 years, as well as Director of the Aerothemodynamics Laboratory. During the years 2000-2002 he was also the Dean of Students of the Technion. Alon Gany received his BSc, MSc, and Doctoral degrees from the Technion. He spent a few years at Princeton University as a Postdoc Fellow and as a Visiting Professor, and another year as an NRC Senior Research Fellow at the Naval Postgraduate School, USA. Alon Gany is Foreign Member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE); Member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA); Honorary Fellow of the High Energy Materials Society of India (HEMSI) and the Australian Institute of Energetic Materials (AIHEM); Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA); and Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Combustion Institute, the International Association of Hydrogen Energy (IAHE), and Israel Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Prof. Gany has supervised about 100 Doctoral and Masters Students. He has been recognized as Technion’s Permanent Distinguished Lecturer and has won many awards for excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. Alon Gany has over 135 refereed journal publications, 21 book chapters, some 20 registered patents worldwide, and more than 400 papers and presentations in professional conferences, including many invited, plenary, and keynote lectures. Prof. Gany's main research interest and expertise are in aerospace propulsion, marine jet propulsion, energetic materials, combustion, hydrogen energy, and related areas.

Prof. K. P. J. Reddy received Masters Degree from Mysore University in 1975 and PhD degree from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, Mesra in 1981 and joined the department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc),Bang alore. He has held many positions including the post of Senior Professor,Dr. Satish Dhawan ISRO Chair Professor and HAL Chair Professor before retiring in 2018. Prof. Reddy has worked in many areas of research, majorly in Hypersonics, Shock Waves, Chemical Kinetics, Lasers, Photonics, Bio photonics and Nonlinear Optics. He has published more than 300 technical papers in international journals and conferences and has about 30 Patents in these areas of research. Prof. Reddy has established very strong research group in IISc consisting of more than 50 people in the area of hypersonics and shock waves and related fields. He has built many unique and first of their kind experimental facilities for high speed testing. Two of his recent inventions are named after him as Reddy Tube and Reddy Tunnel, which have become part of the UG courses in India and abroad. He has guided about 27 Ph D and 6 M. Sc (Engg) graduates and Majority of them are working as faculty members in various IITs and IISc. Most of the researchers working in the field of hypersonics and shock waves in the country are his direct students or from his research group. Prof. Reddy has organized many prestigious international conferences and workshops and served as the member of International Advisory Boards for many such International Conferences. He was the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Hypersonics and a Member of the Editorial Boards for the Shock Waves journal, Journal of Indian Institute of Scienceand Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics. Prof. Reddy is the founder President of Society for Shock Wave Research, India and the elected President of International Shock Wave Institute, at Nagoya, Japan for two terms. He received Honour Diploma from Minsk International Forum on Heat and Mass Transfer, Minsk, Belarus and IISc Alumni Award for Excellence in Engineering Research in 2010. He was an Adjunct Professor of the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune. Recently he received Lifetime Achievement Award from Bangalore Management Association (BMA). Prof, Reddy has many inventions to his credit, and is the Chairman, Machstar Group of companies consisting of many start-up companies, namely, Super-Wave Technologies Pvt Ltd,Srushti Engineering InnovationsPvt. Ltd, Wavefrac Technology Pvt Ltd andShock Fluidesign Technology Pvt. Ltd. Prof. Reddy has been the Founder of the “Science City” of India coming up near Challakere, Chitradurga District in about 11000 acres of land and Dr. H Narasimhaiah International Science Centre near Gauribidanur, Chikkaballapur District in about 206 acres of land.

Dr. Alexander L. Kalamkarov, P.Eng, is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Dalhousie University and Director of Smart Materials Centre. He is awarded the CANCAM Gold Medal in 2011 for the “outstanding contribution in the area of Applied Mechanics.”He is awarded the Fellow of the ASME (2002); the Fellow of the CSME (2001); and the Fellow of JSPS (2007). Prof. Kalamkarov is a Member of numerous International Editorial and Advisory boards and the International Conference Organizing Committees in the area of advanced composites and smart structures. Dr. Kalamkarov has made major contribution to the fundamental analysis, design and optimization of composites and smart structures, composite reinforced shells and plates. He has authored over 350research publications, including over 170refereed journal papers, 8 monographs and 2 US patents.

Professor Cheng’s current research interests focus on design of high precision machines, ultraprecision and micro manufacturing, smart tooling and smart machining, and sustainable manufacturing systems. He is currently leading the Ultraprecision and Micro/Nano Manufacturing Theme at Brunel University London and working on a number of research projects funded by the EPSRC, NATEP Program, RAEng, Innovate UK program, EU Horizon 2020 Programs, and the industry. Professor Cheng and his team have enjoyed working closely with industrial companies in the UK, Europe, USA and Far East. Professor Cheng is a Charted Engineer and a Fellow of the IMechE and IET, and also working as the European editor for the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

Dr Fangbao Tian is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Information Technology of University of New South Wales (UNSW) Canberra since 2017. He was awarded a PhD in Engineering Mechanics in June 2011 by the University of Science and Technology of China. Before his Senior Lecturer position, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt University (2011-2013), a Research Associate at UNSW Canberra (2013-3014) and a Lecturer at UNSW Canberra (2014-2017). Dr Tian has been working on computational fluid dynamics methods for fluid-structure-interaction problems and complex flows, publishing over 80 journal papers. He is a recipient of ARC DECRA Fellow (2016) and the Lead Chief Investigator (CI) of an ARC DP (2020). He is also the Lead CI or Co-CI of a few industry, government and defence projects. Dr Tian has been actively devoting himself in the professional service including journal editorship, conference/workshop organiser, and paper/funding/thesis reviewer.

Hamid Bahaiis Professor of Computational Mechanics at Brunel University London. He has been active in mathematical modelling, analysis and design of structures for the past 27 years, both in academia and industry and is the author of over 140 refereed publications. He is currently the Director of Brunel’s Institute of Materials & Manufacturing. He was previously a principal engineer at Airbus Defence & Space where he played a leading role in conducting design, numerical simulation and dynamic analysis of Euro3000 spacecraft structures and the Arian 5 launcher/spacecraft adapter. He has acted as a principal investigator and the chair of a number of research consortia to work on a high-performance computational multi-physics and multi scale projects. He has conducted consulting work in the field of structural integrity for many UK and International companies and has given invited talks and courses the world over on various topics in structural computational mechanics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Computational Mechanics. Professor Bahai’s current research interests are multiscale modelling, material characterisation, particle methods,and coupled simulation.

Dr. Narcrisha Norman is a Program Director on rotation for the Graduate Fellowship Research Program in the Division of Graduate Education of the Education and Human Resources Directorate at the National Science Foundation. She joined NSF from the College of Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide where she is a Research Coordinator and an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology. She contributes to STEM research and education in a variety of ways. She volunteers as a NASA Solar System Ambassador (SSA), Howard University Senior Research Associate, POSSUM Citizen Scientist Astronaut, and recently began working on a STEM Equitable Pipeline Mentoring Initiative Liaison. Her Doctorate degree is in Aerospace Engineering and she has both Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering with Minors in Mathematics and Black American Studies. She has had the honor of being selected as an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) evaluator, Fulbright Scholar and Louis Stokes for the Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate Scholar.

Prof. Ying Lei received his PhD degree from Vienna University of Technology.From 1999-2005, He was a visiting scholar and researcher/ lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Irvine, Stanford University and University of California, Los Angeles, respectively. Currently he is aChaired Professorof Civil Engineering at the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Xiamen University. Prof. Lei’s research interests include structural health monitoring, structural system identification and damage detection, structural control, and stochastic structural dynamics.He is the authors of over 200refereed papers in international journals and conference proceedings.He is a member of editorial board of “Structural Monitoring and Maintenance– an International Journal” of Techno Pressand has served as the guest editors of over 10 International Journals and peer reviewer for more than 60 international journals.

My ongoing research interests lay at the intersection of human factors, human-systems engineering, and data analytics. Especially, I have been developing algorithms to map human visual search patterns with human decision making processes that can be used to inform the design of human-centered systems, in which my algorithms have been used to evaluate human performance, assess situation awareness, model decision making processes, and administer training interventions. My recent research initiatives involve multimodal analysis of eye tracking, haptic interactions, and brain activities to discover new smart learning methods to use in a multi-person virtual reality environment. I have received the NSF CAREER award to carry out my research initiatives.

Hossein Rastgoftar is currently an assistant professor in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Arizona. Prior to this, he was an assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University and an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan from 2020 to 2021. He was also an assistant research scientist (2017 to 2020) and a postdoctoral researcher (2015 to 2017) in the Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in 2015 and has two MS degrees (one in Mechanical Systems and the other in Solid Mechanics) and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering-Thermo-Fluids. Rastgoftar’s areas of interest span decision-making under uncertainty, human-robotic interaction, swarm robotics, system autonomy, UAS traffic management, intelligent transportation, formal specification and verification, and finite-state abstraction of dynamical systems.

Sebastian Micus currently works at the E-Textiles, Automation, Acoustics, The German Institutes for Textile and Fiber Research. Sebastian does research in Materials Engineering. He is a senior Scientist and project Manager at Deutsche Institute für Textil- und Faserforschung Denkendorf (DITF) from 2019 to present. He is also a trainer for Artificial Intelligence at Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie. His work experience includes as a working student at MTU Aero engines from Sep 2015 – Aug 2016, EbelHofer Strategy & Management Consultants from Feb 2015 – Aug 2015, MHP – A Porsche Company from Apr 2013 – Jan 2015.

Domenic D'Ambrosio graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 1992 and in 1997 he obtained a Ph.D. in Fluid Dynamics at Politecnico di Torino. Between 1997 and 1997 he was a Marie Curie Fellow at the RWTH in Aachen, Germany.He is Adjunct Professor in Fluid Dynamics at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Torino since 2001. His research field is Computational Fluid Dynamics, in particular applied to hypersonic and high temperature flows. During the years, he worked on the analysis of numerical methods for the compressible regime, on the implementation in CFD codes of physico-chemical models relevant to the entry in planetary atmosphere, on the development of numerical methods for the coupling between plasmas and electromagnetic fields. Recently his interest has expanded also towards the aerodynamics of rotors, with application to drones also in the Martian environment.Further extensions of his research activity concern the application of computational fluid dynamics to problems of industrial nature, such as the dispersion of harmful gases, or the design using CFD tools of cooling systems for experimental cold fusion systems. Finally, he enjoys applying CFD in hydrodynamics as a tool for analysis and design of planing surfaces such as surfboards. He teaches courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Hypersonic Aerothermodynamics, Applied Aerodynamics at the Politecnico di Torino in the framework of Bachelor, Master and PhD Degree programs in Aerospace Engineering. He is (co-)author of 90+ peer-reviewed publications about the above-mentioned research topics.

Arcangelo Merla. Ph.D., is Professor of Biomedical Physics at the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences, at the G. d'Annunzio University of Chieti- Pescara (Italy), andDirector of the Infrared Imaging Laboratory at the ITAB - Advanced Biomedical Technologies Institute, G. d'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara. His scientific activity iscurrently focused on the research and development of thermal IR based affective computing and neurosciences for human-machine interaction. He serves as editor and referees of several international journal and he has extensive scientific production, with more than 150 international papers published. Dr. B.V.S.Jyoti is an entrepreneur, CEO, and Founder at SolvGE, a Start-Up from the Netherlands. SolvGE company believes in solving green energy and focusing on circular energy storage and generation for a wide range of applications and markets. Dr.Jyoti also serves as an Assistant Professor of Space Engineering Department at Aerospace Engineering Faculty, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. Snežana Milićev is associate professor at the Department of Fluid Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia. She received her B.Sc. in Thermal Engineering in 1993, M. Sc. in 1999, and PhD in Fluid Mechanics in 2011, all from the University of Belgrade. She has been teaching various courses in Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics. She is head of the Laboratory for Hydraulics and Pneumatics and a member of Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at the same school. She is a member of Serbian Society of Mechanics. She has published papers and served as a reviewer in many international journals. She is a coauthor of three books. Her research interests include Fluid Mechanics, Gas Dynamics, in particular, rarefied gas flow in micro and nanochannels.

Dr. Justin is a Research Faculty at the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering with the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory where he carries out research about electric aircraft as part of the Civil Aviation Research Division. His area of expertise is in multidisciplinary optimization, economic analysis, and financial engineering. His research lies at the cross-road of engineering and financial analysis and he focuses on concept of operations and the economics of connected mobility systems, general aviation operations, commuter operations, and airlines operations. Of interest to him are the interrelationships between technologies and vehicle architecture selection. Recent research includes an assessment of Urban Air Mobility vehicle safety and how architectural and configuration choices impact the safety of flight. Another topic of active research is the analysis of the impact of transitioning a fleet of fossil-fuel powered commuter aircraft to electric propulsion. Optimal charging strategies were researched to reduce the electricity costs while mitigating the impact on the electric grid and the environment. As part of his PhD research, Dr. Justin focused his efforts on developing new financial engineering techniques to carry out research and development project valuation using real options. Dr. Justin is actively involved with the AIAA, as both a member of the AIAA Air Transportation System technical committee and a member of the Transformational Flight System Outreach committee. Dr Justin is a commercial pilot and holds both an instrument rating and a seaplane rating.

Dr. Antonio Henriques de Araujo Junior graduated in Germany, as Transportation Engineer in 1979at the Wuppertaler University. He got, in 2004,his PhD degree, in Industrial Engineering, at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. After obtaining postdoctoral fellowships at the Brazilian Aeronautics Institute (ITA), University of Minho and University of Porto, Portugal, he obtained the position of an Associate Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Araujo Junior worked 20 years in the automotive industry (Mercedes-Benz) and 5 years in the Strategic Planning of the Aeronautical Industry (Embraer, Brazil).He has already published over 50 research articles in SCI(E) journals and 12 scientific books.

Professor Jacobs received a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Delft University of Technology in 1998, where after graduation, he was appointed to a ResearchAssociate. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following graduation in 2003, he was appointed Visiting Assistant Professor in the Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University. He later combined this position with a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As of 2006 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering at San Diego State University and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and Full Professor in 2014. In 2001 he received the Provost’s Award for Graduate Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2002 he was awarded a University Fellowship at theUniversity of Illinois. He received an AFOSR Young Investigator Award in 2009. He became an Associate Fellow of AIAA in 2013. The research interests of Professor Jacobs can broadly be defined in area of computational multiphase, and multiscale flow physics using high-order methods. Emphasis is on simulation and analysis of particle-laden flows and flow separation in complex geometries, to aid flow control relating to combustion optimization and drag reduction.

SHABANA UROOJ (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and the M.Tech. degree in Electrical (Instrumentation and Control) from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., India, in 1998 and 2003, respectively.She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering on the topic ofBiomedical Instrumentation from Electrical Engineering Department, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), Delhi, India. She has served industry for three years and teaching organizations for more than ninteen years. She has successfully completed several editorial responsibilities for reputed journals and several quality books and proceedings. She is presently contributing as editorial of Frontiers Energy - Smart Grid’s journals, Frontiers in Public Health- Digital Public Health and MDPI’s Sustainability. Dr. Ahmad Bani Younes is an associate professor at the aerospace engineering department in San Diego State University (SDSU). He is the founder and director of the Spacecraft Platform for Astronautics & Celestial Emulation (SPACE) laboratory at SDSU, which aims to be a 6DOF facility that supports comprehensive studies and hardware experiments for sensing, guidance, dynamics, and control of space operations in an operationally relevant environment. Dr. Bani Younes has worked on a wide range of space research topics, including the development of fast and high fidelity gravity model for the earth anomalies; fast and efficient trajectories propagation for satellite motions; optimal control theory, which is focused on Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) issues, trajectory generation, spacecraft attitude tracking, and feedback control methodologies; and, algorithms development for optimization theory, perturbation theory, orbital motion, and very broadly algorithmic differentiation for automatically generating mixed sets of high-order partial derivatives. Dr. Bani Younes is the advisor of the rocket project and recently established a CubeSat project at SDSU. He has served as a chief expert in several autonomous vehicle challenges, such as, Small Satellite challenges, EmiratesSkills, WorldSkills for Drones: build & fly and the subject matter expert of the recently launched JY1-Sat

I head the plasma wind tunnel laboratory at the Institute of Space Systems (IRS) at the University of Stuttgart with 10 large-scale research facilities. Together with currently five PhD students and three Post-Docs, my High Enthalpy Flow Diagnostics Group (HEFDiG, www.hefdig.com) focuses on the development and application of diagnostic methods for the characterization of high enthalpy flows. I participated in the four airborne entry observation campaigns for the investigation of atmospheric entry physics in the past 10 years. With my team, I successfully observed the re-entry of the European ISS-resupply spacecraft ATV-1 in 2008, participated in an international team for the search of meteorite fragments (2008 TC3) in the Nubian desert in 2009, and was Principle Investigator of a new instrument with which I successfully observed the re-entry of the Japanese sample return capsule Hayabusa in 2010. I was Principal Investigator (PI) for two flight experiments for the quantification of atomic oxygen in the upper atmosphere in June 2013 and March 2015 on sounding rocket flights. I was selected as the first European science lead of a re-entry flight observation mission ever, which involved coordination of 33 international scientists for NASA and ESA managers for the observation of the re-entry of the ATV-5 spacecraft in February 2015. I have been an invited member on the flight observation missions of WT1190F and CYGNUS OA6. In 2016, I organized the International Workshop on Radiation of High Temperature Gases (RHTG) of the European Space Agency. I have published 64 journal articles, 6 articles in public journals and books and more than 130 conference papers.

Tunc Aldemir received his PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois and is a Professor of Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University. His broad area of specialization is reliability and probabilistic risk assessment with focus on systems that may be difficult to model using conventional techniques, such as those with significant hardware/software/human/process interactions, passive components and/or relying on natural phenomena for safety. He has published more than 200 refereed articles on various deterministic and probabilistic aspects of dynamic system reliability and safety. He has also served as an International Atomic Energy Agency expert to various countries on research reactor safety. He is a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and on the editorial board of Reliability Engineering and System Safety.

Dr Sylvain Pauchet is a Assistant Professor at Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile - ENAC (the leading aeronautics and aviation university in Europe). Dr Pauchet interests include touch interaction issues in aeronautical cockpit and Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality for trajectories optimisation for Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers.

James Tyacke is a Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University London, developing multi-fidelity, multi-scalecomputational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods in a range of areas. He highlighted the potential of large-eddy simulation (LES) to provide consistently accurate heat transfer prediction in electronics systems during his PhD at Swansea University. Later, at the University of Cambridge he studied and classified a range of related aeroengine flows, leading to proposed automation of CFD to ensure consistency in industry. Following this,he madenoise predictions for future installed ultra-high bypass ratio aeroengines at flight conditions. These rivalled experiments,featuring in the Journal of Sound and Vibration (CEAS-ASC)highlights.Common elements include multi-scale and multi-fidelity turbulence and geometry modelling, and the use of high performance computing (HPC) to generate and exploit large unsteady datasets. Dr. Payan is a Research Engineer at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory, Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Dr. Payan is currently the Georgia Tech Deputy Site Director for the Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility, and Sustainability – PEGASAS, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Center of Excellence for General Aviation. Over the past years, she has been involved with several projects related to the use of data analysis and machine learning techniques for aviation safety, the implementation of electric propulsion alternatives to existing aircraft, the study of the operations of such electrified aircraft, and the study of the generation and use of environmentally friendly, renewable, and sustainable alternatives to aviation jet fuel. Dr. Payan is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Systems Engineering Technical Committee, the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) Safety Committee, as well as a member of several USHST working groups related to Helicopter Safety Enhancements. She also holds a private pilot certificate for fixed-wing aircraft.

Changguo Wang is a tenured professor in Center for Composite Materials, National Key Laboratory of Science and Technology on Advanced Composites in Special Environments, School of Astronautics at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China. Professor Wang was born in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China. Dr. Rodrigo Leonardi holds a PhD in Astrophysics (2006) from the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research and a BS degree (1999) in Mathematics from the University of Brasília. He joined the Brazilian Space Agency in 2017 and nowadays is in charge of a portfolio of Brazilian satellites, as well as is involved in several space-related initiatives in Brazil. His past experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2007-2009) position at the University of California, a scientist position at the European Space Agency and an advisor position at CGEE, a think tank center for strategic studies in technology and innovation. He has co-authored 158 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals.

Christine Espinosa is born in France, and is full Professor of ISAE-SUPAERO Engineering School since 2018. Graduated in Theoretical and Applied Mathematics from the University of Mathematics and Physics of Bordeaux in 1988, she obtained her PhD Degree in Theoretical Mechanics from the same University in 1991. She was the first PhD student to develop research activities on the transient behaviour of composite material in the lab. After a short post-doctoral position in the laboratory to organize the transfer of her activities on the modelling of composite materials behaviour to study bird impacts damage to the very recently organized team, she entered as a research engineer in DYNALIS Cie and became a Senior Expert after nine years. During this period she developed the first version of the coupling between the USA® fluid commercial code with the transient finite element code LS-DYNA®.She entered the ENSICA High Engineering School as Associate Professorin 2001.In 2018, after receiving her Full Professor diploma, she is appointed team leader of a Research Group at ISAE-SUPAERO, named CAD-I for Complex Aero-structure Design & multi-physics Interactions. She is the author of several papers on fragmentation or cutting modelling, material modelling in transient dynamics, lightning induced direct damage modelling.She is member of the SMAI-GAMNI Society of Applied or Mathematics which is a contributor to the ECCOMAS community and of the AFM French Association for Mechanics.

Reuven Segev is the H. Greenhill Chair Professor of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheva, Israel. His research is concerned with the applications of geometrical and analytical methods in mechanics in general and the mechanics of a continuous media, in particular. He teaches courses in the field of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. He currently serves as the President of the Israeli Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Professor Segev received his B.Sc. (1976) and M.Sc. (1978) in mechanical engineering at Ben-Gurion University. He completed his Ph.D. in 1981 at the University of Calgary, Canada. Since 1981, he has been affiliated with Ben-Gurion University. During the period of 2003-2008, he served as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and in the period 2014—2017 he served as the Associate Dean for teaching at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Ben-Gurion University. In the period 2019—2020 he served as the Head of the university’s Unit for the Advancement of Quality Teaching and Learning. Throughout the last two decades, he served as the Head of the Professional Accreditation Committee for mechanical engineering appointed by the Israeli Council for Higher Education. Professor Segev spent sabbatical years at Johns Hopkins University (1987/1988), The University of Calgary (1995/1996), and the University of California, San Diego (2008/2009).

Dr. Qin is an associate professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering in Tsinghua University, China. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, China, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and thePh.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University, China,in 2010. He has served as an Associate Editor of Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, and an Editorial Member of Nanotechnology Reviews. His research interests include aerospace engineering, nonlinear vibration, nanocomposite, and vibration control. Recently, he has devoted considerable effort to pyroshock simulation techniques both theoretically and experimentally in aerospace engineering. Dr. Qin has published more than 60 highly cited papers in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Kerstman is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UTMB Department of Preventive Medicine and Population Health. He is also an Assistant Professor at the UT Heath Science Center at Houston Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Kerstman has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in public health. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and Aerospace Medicine.Dr. Kerstman works as an aerospace medicine physician for NASA. He is involved in medical risk assessment and the development of future medical systems for exploration missions. He also serves as a flight surgeonresponsible for the musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation of astronauts.

Tomonari Furukawa is Professor and Linn Faculty Scholar of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University of Virginia. He received B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Waseda University in 1990, M.Eng. in Mechatronic Engineering from University of Sydney in 1993 and Ph.D in Quantum Engineering and Systems Science from University of Tokyo in 1996. He worked at University of Tokyo, University of Sydney, University of New South Wales and Virginia Tech as faculty before joining University of Virginia. His research work focuses on inverse analysis and optimization methods in robotics and experimental/computational mechanics where he currently has his particular interests in Bayesian estimation and control of autonomous systems, multiphysics modeling, simulation and measurement and stochastic material characterization and structural health monitoring. He has published over 300 technical papers and won various career and paper awards including Young Investigator Award from International Association for Computational Mechanics. He has also led teams in several renowned international competitions including Virginia Tech’s Team VALOR in the DARPA Robotics Challenge in 2015 and Team VICTOR in MBZIRC in 2017 and 2020.

Tracy has Twenty-Seven years of commercial aviation experience she was an International Airline pilot (Boeing 737), Certified Flight Instructor (CFII), experienced corporate jet and charter pilot, with over 7000 flight hours. She is also a certified commercial UAS pilot (FAA Part 107 & CASA Part 101). She has extensive field experience as lead aviation safety auditor on helicopter operators, airlines, charter companies, and unmanned aircraft operators and was the Global Manager for unmanned safety and certification for SGS Aerospace, based in London, UK, and New York, USA. Tracy created and led the Unmanned Inspection Capabilities in the Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, South Africa, Spain, Canada South America, and the USA. More recently, Tracy was the Vice President of Regulatory and Safety Affairs and Chief Pilot for AUVSI, and developed the 'world-first', certification program for UAS operators; the Trusted Operator Program (TOP). TOP won industry awards and has been implemented by UNICEF in South Africa, and is part of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Master of Science (UAS) program. Nominated by the UK CAA, and AUVSI, Tracy actively participated as a member of the ICAO RPAS Panel and the UAS Advisory Group from 2015-2020; she served as chair of 2 working groups for the Australian CASA 2014-2015. Tracy represented AUVSI on the FAA Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team (UAST), the Aviation Rule Making Committee for airspace integration, and the JARUS sub-committee. She is due to graduate from Embry-riddle aeronautical university with a Ph.D in Aviation Safety and Human Factors in 2021-22.

Abdellah Hadjadj(born November 16, 1968, Ain-Beida, Algeria) is a French fluid dynamicist and computing scientist. He is Professor at the National Institute for Applied Sciences, Rouen, France since 2006. He received his engineering degree in Aeronautics and Aerospace sciences from the University of Blida (Algeria) in 1992, his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (France) and his Ph.D and Habilitation degrees in Computational Sciences and Mechanical Engineering from University of Rouen (France) in 1997 and 2004, resp. He held the post of French National Aerospace Center(CNES)Fellow as a Post-docResearcher in 1998. He joined NASA-Ames Research CenterUSA as a visiting scholar in September 2000 and since he is a regular visitor to NASA-Ames and the Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University, USA.He is member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the International Shock Waves Institute. Prof. Hadjadj research activities lie in the area of computer modeling techniques, simulations and algorithmsfor the study of fluid flows, control and modelling concepts for high speed boundary layers. Prof. Hadjadj has written widely on the structure of shock waves in complex media (solid, fluid, multi-phase flows). He is also active in developing innovative strategies and novel guidelines in computational sciences to help solving industrial problems (aerospace, automobile, oil and gas, renewable energy). Prof. Hadjadj is an associate editor of the International Journal of Aerospace Innovations, andan editorial board member of the InternationalShock Waves Journal, Nonlinear Dynamics Journal, and CFD letters.He served as chairman and member of the scientific and technical program committees of many international conferences such as ISSW (Int. Symp. Shock Waves), EUCASS (European Conf. Aeronautics and Space Sciences), ISIS (Int. Shock Interaction Symp.). Prof. Hadjadj supervised more than 26 PhD students and post-doc researchers and published over 160 papers in international journals, invited lectures and conferences. He has delivered specific courses and key-note seminars in Europe and over the word.Prof. Hadjadj is currently the chairman of the Specialized Master of Industrial Decommissioning at INSA of Rouen, and head of the "Turbulence & Mixing" group in the Clean Combustion Laboratory, CORIA CNRS, France.

In 1977, Dr. Sunil Sinha received his doctorate in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since, then he has been active in various applications of fragment containment, non-linear dynamics especially numerical simulations of contact-impact events in various aerospace applications such as FOD’s in a propulsion system. After working for 31+ years, he has retired from GE Aviation, where he has focused his expertise in analytical predictions of flight-safety and engine survivability during catastrophic events and extreme conditions, such as bird-strike and sudden loss of blade from a spinning rotor etc. He has been associated with the early developments of DYNA3D and is credited with developing several routines of LS-DYNA. Since his retirement from GE Aviation, he has been working as a Technical Consultant at the Quest Global Services in Cincinnati. He has published about 35+ technical papers in the area of impact dynamics and structural vibrations in prestigious journals such as ASME Journal of Applied Mechanics and Journal of Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Non-linear Mechanics etc. He also serves as a technical reviewer for several leading publications. His biographical data appears in Marquis Who’s Who in Engineering. He also holds an adjunct faculty member appointment in the Aerospace Engineering department of the Ohio State University, Columbus. Haibo Liu received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation and the Ph.D. degree in mechatronic engineering from Dalian University of Technology (DLUT), Dalian, China, in 2006 and 2012, respectively. Currently, he is a full professor and doctoral supervisor of school of mechanical engineering at DLUT .He is ASME member, IEEE member, senior member of Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering (CSME).His main research interests includeIntelligent manufacturing, digital machining technology.He has published over 50 peer-reviewed SCI/EI journal papers such as International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture,ASME-Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, and 60authorized or pending patents.Besides, he has undertaken 21 scientific projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc.His scientific research achievementshave been recognized by two first prizes of science and technology progress in Liaoning Province(3/10, 4/11).

Yongliang Xiong is a Professor in the school of aerospace at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He received his doctor degree in mechanics at Harbin Engineering University in 2008, and obtained the other doctor degree in applied mathematics at the University of Bordeaux in 2010. His research interests are CFD, drag reduction as well as propulsion. He has published more than 50 papers in these area.

Professor Aleksandar Jemcov has over twenty years of experience in computational fluid dynamics and turbomachinery related flows. His research interests include development of numerical algorithms for fluid mechanics, solid-fluid interactions, efficient solver methodologies applicable to both compressible and incompressible flows, thermoacoustics, turbulence modeling, and linear algebra. Dr. Jemcov's prior experience includes work in the Combustion Department at Pratt & Whitney Canada, Development Department at Fluent Inc., and the Development Department and Fluids Business Unit at ANSYS, Inc. He currently serves as Associate Director for Computational Sciences at the Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory and is concurrently appointed as Research Assistant Professor in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Notre Dame.

Carlo Rosso graduated as Mechanical Engineer at the Politecnico di Torino in 2001, he holds a PhD in Machine design and Construction from Politecnico di Torino in the 2005, he is Associate Professor in Machine Design at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Torino since 2016. His main research topics are focusing on the dynamics of mechanical components with particular attention for the gears and the metal replacement in automotive industries. In particular he is focused on the design and life assessment of gearbox components with emphasis on gears and bearings. He is author of 6 patents and founder of two start-ups and one of this is Spin-Off of Politecnico di Torino. GeDy TrAss is the start up that commercialises the homonym software capable to speed up the definition of an optimal gear design in terms of dynamic response and resistance. He is (co-)author of 80+ pier-reviewed publications about machine design topics. He has a good relationship with the industrial tissue of the Piedmont region and he have signed industrial research agreements for more than 900000 €. He is active member of SAE international and SEM.

Yaoming Zhou is the associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering, Beihang University, China. His research interests include path planning, mission planning, collaborative decision and control of UAVs.He has published more than 70 papers in journals and conference proceedings. He has won two provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards.

Ramin Masoudi is the recipient of a Ph.D. degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada in 2012. His expertise includes math-based modeling of dynamic systems, multibody dynamics, space robotics, and mechanical vibrations. He is an associate professor with the American University in Dubai, Dubai, UAE since 2015, where he offers courses on control systems, mechanical vibrations, robotics, and computer-aided mechanical design. He was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo, working on Dynamic Modeling and Design of Nonlinear Systems along with Control-oriented Model Design and Reduction, in collaboration with Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA and Maplesoft Inc. in Waterloo. Dr. Masoudi has been a member of ASME and AIAA since 2009. He is a reviewer of several prestigious Journal publications, including ASME Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Systems, Multibody System Dynamics, Applied Mathematical Modelling, and Meccanica. He received Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology in 2011 and University of Waterloo International Graduate Student Award.

Anamaria Bjelopera is an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Dubrovnik, Croatia where she teaches various courses on studies of Marine Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies and Applied/Business Computing. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Croatia, in 2008 and 2016, respectively. Her research interests include picture quality evaluation methods, image and video signal processing and compression, image degradation classification and removal, wavelet transform in image and signal processing, machine learning, different DVB standards, television signal transmission and compression of 3D point clouds. Currently she is a member of the project team on a project called HKO-ELE (project for standardization of qualifications and vocation in electrical engineering) financed by European Social Fund. Recently she took part in Horizon 2020 project EuConNeCts4 (Advanced 5G validation trials across multiple vertical industries) financed by European commission.

MINGBIAO YU received the B.E. degree in automation from University of South China in 2010, the M.S. degree in control theory and control engineering from Jiangsu University in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from Southeast University in 2019. He is a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan China. He is focused on fundamental problems in moving-base rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer（RAGG）, such as: dynamic analysis and RAGG analytical model establishment, motion error compensation, installation theory of RAGG components, numerical simulation of RAGG, fault diagnosis of RAGG system, RAGG gradiometer prototype data analysis etc..

Vladimir Jazarević graduated with diploma degree in aeronautical department of Mechanical Engineering faculty University of Belgrade in 2007. Agter finishing 5 year program he worked for 2 years as associate assistent on Mechanical engineering faculty. Master in Computational Mechaincs he obtained in Universitatd de Polytechnica de Catalunya and he also worked in International Central of Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), Barcelona Spain. After Barcelona he continued with Phd and worked in company Engine Development and Production EdePro for 7 years mainly focusing on development of Turbo engines and development of UAV rotorcrafts (VTOL, helicopter). In 2016 he obtained PhD in Mechanical Engineering faculty University of Belgrade. Up to now he has several SCI articles in famous magazines and chapters in Springer books. In 2019 Vladimir founded his company Mechatronics Unmanned System & Technology Solutions – Must Solutions where he continued working on Turbo engines, UAV rotorcrafts, autopilots, electro generators, electro motors and electric speed controllers. Company focus is developing, production and testing of advanced technologies and machines.

David Burzynski is a consultant, entrepreneur, and engineer with specialization in product design, fluid dynamics, flight physics, multiphase flow and icing. In 2011, he received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University Berlin (TU Berlin). Later he moved to Munich to pursue his master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Technical University Munich (TUM). After completing his thesis with Prof. Nicolaus Adams, David went to the Technical University Braunschweig (TUBS) to perform fundamental research on multiphase flow and aircraft icing. He investigated the impact of high-speed drops on dry and wetted surfaces using theoretical, experimental, and numerical methods. In 2020, he obtained his Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Aerospace Engineering with the highest honors. David Burzynski is co-founder of Coldsense Technologies, a company committed to develop innovative solutions that make facilities and equipment safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly when operating in cold environments and icing conditions.

Over 50 years of experience in design and simulation of sustainability and energy efficiency for terrestrial and aerospace applications. Published 15 books in English and over 1000 papers in journals and conference proceedings on combustion, energy and indoor air quality control. Developed and delivered advanced courses in heat transfer, gas turbine combustion and terrestrial energy. Prof. Khalil is a Fellow ASME, Fellow ASHRAE, and Fellow AIAA, He is the recipient of ASME George Westinghouse Gold Award recipient 2009 and ASME Harry Potter Gold Award recipient, 2012. Prof.Khalil is member of ISO TC205 WG2: Design of Energy Efficient Built Environment. Convenor of ISO TC163 WG4 Holistic approach to Energy Performance of Buildings. Member of CEN TC371 WG1. Currently he is the Chair of Egyptian and Arab HVAC Code Committee, also Chair of Egyptian Ventilation Code Committee. Prof.Khalil also chairs Egyptian Indoor Air Quality Code Committee.

Dr. Sudha U P V is working as an Aerospace Scientist in Aeronautical Development Agency, Under Ministry of Defense, Govt. of India. She did her PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She has been working in the design and development of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) for the last 20 years. She has made very significant contributions to the prestigious LCA-Tejas national programme in the broad area of Aeroelasticity. Her significant contribution to LCA programme is in the area of wake penetration which is a critical issue for an unstable combat aircraft. Her immense effort in this direction has helped LCA programme in getting air worthiness structural wake clearance. She also works in the area of Structural Dynamics , flutter analysis, Gust response analysis. Her research contribution is in the area of flight flutier test prediction techniques and system identification. At present Sudha is actively participating in the area of Aeroelasticity in the design and development of Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) , fifth generation fighter aircraft. She is a recipient of Dr. Biren Roy Trust award for the outstanding contribution in the field of Aerospace in 2018 from Aerosociety of India. Also, she received Tagore excellence award in 2018. She has published several technical papers in the leading National & International Journals.

Julian Hunt is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at IIASA since 2017 where he is collaborating with the Energy (ENE) and Water (WAT) programs in collaboration with the CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior, Education Ministry) Brazilian Foundation for support researchers. Dr. Hunt’s research interests include analysis of energy systems, water-energy-land interfaces, climate change risks and energy security. Currently, his research at IIASA aims to create scenarios for long-term energy planning, including seasonal renewable energy, demands and storage (particularly seasonal pumped-storage) using MESSAGE. Dr. Hunt joined IIASA from the National Commission for Nuclear Energy in Brazil, where he was working on a hybrid nuclear generation and seawater desalination project. He holds a D.Phil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, where he developed a decision support system to optimize energy and water projects in the UK. He also holds a B.Eng degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham. Previously, Dr. Hunt worked at the Energy and Climate Change Branch of UNIDO.

The speaker received his BEng (Hons) in Materials and Production Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Nigeria, in November 2007. He later progressed to receive an MSc in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Greenwich (UOG), Chatham Medway Campus, Kent, England, United Kingdom, in September 2012. He has recently earned a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering along with a Doctoral Research Excellence Award for achieving the highest possible result for a Higher Degree by Research thesis examination at the Institute for Advanced Engineering and Space Sciences, University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia, in September 2019. He is a current member of the Institute of Engineers Australia (EA); member of the Australian Society of Defence Engineering (ASDE); member of the Australasian Fluid Thermal Engineering Society (AFTES); and member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
