"Dr. Shenen Chen is Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Chen has been involved in the energy industry for over twenty-five years and has worked in the areas of power transmission structure design, coal mine site issues, carbon sequestration and utilization, power grid responses during hurricanes and wireless power transfer technologies. Dr. Chen has 90 journal papers and over 100 peer-reviewed proceeding publications. Dr. Chen is a licensed professional engineer and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Forensic Engineering Council (FEC). Dr. Chen has served in the editorial board of the past FEC Forensic Engineering Conferences. Dr. Chen is a US Fulbright Scholar."

Qiming Zhang is a Distinguished Professor of Engineeringat the Pennsylvania State University, USA, since 2006. His research covers fundamentals and applications of electronic and electroactive materials, especially polymers and nanocomposites, and their energy storage and conversion applications. Zhang invented relaxor ferroelectric polymers which possess highest dielectric permittivityat room temperature and giant electroactuation. The relaxorpolymers have been commercialized by Arkema. He co-founded a successful startup company, StrategicPolymers Inc. (now Novasentis, Inc.), in commercializing the polymer devices for energy conversion applications. In 2008, he discovered giant electrocaloric effect in polymers, creating unique opportunity for solid state cooling devices with high efficiency and zero green greenhouse gas emission. More recently, his group developed dilute polymer nanocomposites in which ultra-low volume loading of nanofillers, through interfacial effects, generate marked enhancement in dielectric constant and breakdown strength, leading to high energy and power densities. He authored and co-authored over 470 journal publications and has 21 patents. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of APS.

Dr Qiao joined the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Adelaide (UoA) in March 2012 as a professor (the inaugural Chair of Nanotechnology). He is the founding Director of Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis (CMEC). His research expertise is in nanomaterials for new energy technologies (electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, batteries, fuel cell). He has co-authored more than 438 papers in refereed journals, including Nature, Nature Energy, Nature Chemistry, Nature Materials, Nature Catalysis, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Angew Chem Int Ed, J. Am. Chem. Soc, Advanced Materials (over 64,800 citations, h-index: 130, Web of Sci). He has filed four patents on novel nanomaterials and attracted more than 13 million dollars in research grants from industrial partners and Australian Research Council (ARC). In recognition of his achievements in research, he was honoured with inaugural UoA Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research (2019), an Australian Star of Research (Lifetime Achievers Leaderboard, by "The Australian" 2019), prestigious ARC Australian Laureate Fellow (2017), ExxonMobil Award (2016), ARC Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA, 2013), Emerging Researcher Award (2013, ENFL Division of the American Chemical Society) and UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award (2008). He has also been awarded an ARC ARF Fellowship, an ARC APD Fellowship and an inaugural UQ Mid-Career Research Fellowship. Dr Qiao is currently an Honorary Professor at The University of Queensland. He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry A, a Fellow of Institution of Chemical Engineers (FIChemE), Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and Royal Australian Chemical Institute (FRACI). Dr Qiao is a Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in two categories of Chemistry and Materials Science.

Dr. Akira Nishimura is an associate professor in Division of Mechanical Engineering at Mie University, Japan. He received the B.S. Eng., the M.S. Eng. and Dr. Eng. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Nagoya University, Japan in 1995, 1997 and 2000, respectively. He worked at Center for Integrated Research in Science and Engineering, Nagoya University as research associate from 2000 to 2002. He moved to Mie University in 2002 as an assistant professor and promoted to associate professor from 2014. His current researches are clarification on heat and mass transfer mechanism of polymer electrolyte fuel cell, CO2 reduction by photocatalyst, H2 production from biogas and smart city utilizing renewable energy actively.

Dr. Pardalos is a world renowned leader in Global Optimization, Mathematical Modeling, Energy Systems, and Data Sciences. He is a Fellow of AAAS, AIMBE, and INFORMS and was awarded the 2013 ConstantinCaratheodory Prize of the International Society of Global Optimization. In addition, Dr. Pardalos has been awarded the 2013 EURO Gold Medal prize bestowed by the Association for European Operational Research Societies. This medal is the preeminent European award given to Operations Research (OR) professionals for “scientific contributions that stand the test of time.” Dr. Pardalos has been awarded a prestigious Humboldt Research Award (2018-2019). The Humboldt Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date – fundamental discoveries, new theories, insights that have had significant impact on their discipline. Dr. Pardalos is also a Member of several Academies of Sciences, and he holds several honorary PhD degrees and affiliations. He is the Founding Editor of Optimization Letters, Energy Systems, and Co-Founder of the International Journal of Global Optimization, Computational Management Science, and Springer Nature Operations Research Forum. Dukjoon Kim has completed his PhD from Purdue University in 1993 and continued postdoctoral work at Lehigh University as a research associate. He has been working as a professor from 1994in School of Chemical Engineering of Sungkyunkwn (SKKU) University. He was an invited professor at Purdue University (2000-2001) and Georgia Institute Technology (2008-2009). He was selected as a SKKU Fellow, and now a member of National Academy of Engineering of Korea. He has published more than 230 peer reviewed papers in reputed journals on functional polymer materials. His recent research interests are synthesis and characterization of polymer electrolyte membranes in fuel cell and secondary batteries.

Prof. Adam Waldemar Skorek, M’87, SM’90, F’09 completed Master of Electrical Engineering Program at Białystok University of Technology (Poland) receiving both Master and Engineer degrees in 1980. He received a Doctor of Technical Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) in 1983. On 1987, he joined the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR), where currently, he is a Full Professorand Director of the Research Group on Industrial Electronics. He founded the UQTR’s Electro-Thermal Management Laboratory which succeeded both the NanoHeat Laboratory and the UQTR’s Industrial ElectroHeat Laboratory founded and directed by himself since 1989. He is conducting the electrical engineering courses for bachelors, masters and Ph.D. students. His research works was granted by NSERC, CFI, FRQNT, MITACS and industry. He was made contributions to the numerical analysis of electro-thermal phenomena exploring and applying various techniques to electrical apparatus and electronic devices. He published and co-published over 140 papers including works on High Performance Computing applications in electro-thermal analysis. A number of those publications are available at IEEE Xplore. He was a Chair of Canadian Heads and Chairs of Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments. The IEEEFellow, as well Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada - he is the recipient of the IEEE RAB/MGA Leadership Award and the IEEE Canada W.S. Read Outstanding Award.

Marc A. Rosen is a Professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, Canada, where he served as founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Dr. Rosen was President of the Engineering Institute of Canada. A registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of several journals and as a Director of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation. With over 60 research grants and contracts and 900 publications, Dr. Rosen is active in sustainable energy, environmental impact, and energy technology (including renewable energy and efficiency). Much of his research has been carried out for industry, and he has written numerous books. Dr. Rosen has worked for such organizations as Imatra Power Company in Finland, Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago, and the Institute for Hydrogen Systems near Toronto. Dr. Rosen has received numerous awards and honors, and is a fellow of several societies and organizations.

Professor Raman Singh’s primary research interests are in the relationship of Nano-/microstructure and Environment-assisted degradation and fracture of metallic and composite materials, and Nanotechnology for Advanced Mitigation of such Degradations. He has also worked extensively on use of advanced materials (e.g., graphene) for corrosion mitigation, and stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion and corrosion-mitigation of magnesium alloys (including for the use of magnesium alloys for aerospace, defence and bioimplant applications). Prof Singh’s professional distinctions and recognitions include: editor of a unique book on non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of corrosion, editor of a book on cracking of welds, editor-in-chief of two journals, member the Editorial Boards of a few journals, leader/chairperson of a few international conferences and regular plenary/keynote lectures at international conferences, over 235 peer-reviewed international journal publications, 15 book chapters/books and over 100 reviewed conference publications, and several competitive research grants (that includes 4 Discovery, 7 Linkage and one ITRH grants of Australian Research Council). Prof Singh has supervised 50 PhD students. His vibrant research group at Monash University comprised/comproses of PhD students from different disciplines (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials and Civil Engineering, and Science) as well as from different cultural backgrounds (Australian, Middle-eastern, Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, African, American and Israeli).

Professor Yusuke Yamauchi specialises in the design of functional nanospaces in inorganic materials with controlled compositions and morphologies toward practical applications. Professor Yamauchi focuses on the design of novel nanocrystals and nanoporous materials toward various applications including batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, chemical sensors, field emitters, and photonic devices. Specifically, nanoporous metals can be produced through surfactant-based synthesis assisted by electrochemical methods. Owing to their metallic frameworks, nanoporous metals possess high electroconductivity and high surface areas, holding promise for a wide range of electrochemical applications. Furthermore, he has developed several approaches towards controlling the orientation of tubular nanochannels. The controlling the geometry of nanochannels at a macroscopic-scale is important for innovative applications such as chemical devices and electrodes with enhanced diffusions of guest species.

prof. Pierluigi Siano (M’09, SM’14) received the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information and electrical engineering from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He received the award as 2019 Highly cited Researcher by ISI Web of Science Group. According to the study conducted by some Stanford University researchers, it has been included in the ranking of 100 thousand international scientists, belonging to different disciplinary fields and with greater scientific impact. The investigation was conducted by some Stanford University researchers who, starting from the SCOPUS database containing the list of scholars of the world classified by scientific production, developed a composite indicator that takes into account all possible bibliometric parameters (h index, number publications, citations, journal relevance, sector relevance, etc.), in order to generate a wider ranking, focused on the scientific relevance of scientists, in relation to the activity of the last 23 years. He is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management & Innovation Systems, University of Salerno. His research activities are centered on demand response, on the integration of distributed energy resources in smart grids and on planning and management of power systems. He has co-authored more than 450 papers including more than 200 international journal papers that received more than 7600 citations with an H-index equal to 44. He has been the Chair of the IES TC on Smart Grids. He is Editor for the Power & Energy Society Section of IEEE Access, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, Open Journal of the IEEE IES and of IET Renewable Power Generation.

João Gama is a Full Professor at the School of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Porto in 2000. He is EurIA Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and member of the board of directors of the LIAAD, a group belonging to INESC Porto. His h-index at Google Scholar is 58. He is an Editor of several top-level Machine Learning and Data Mining journals. He has been ACM Distinguish Speaker. He served as Program Chair of ECMLPKDD 2005, DS09, ADMA09, EPIA 2017, DSAA 2017, served as Conference Chair of IDA 2011, ECMLPKDD 2015, DSAA’2021, and a series of Workshops on KDDS and Knowledge Discovery from Sensor Data with ACM SIGKDD. His main research interests are in knowledge discovery from data streams, evolving data, probabilistic reasoning, and causality. He published more than 300 reviewed papers in journals and major conferences. He has an extensive list of publications in data stream learning.

Celso C. Ribeiro is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and of the National Order of the Scientific Merit In Brazil. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil. He chaired the Departments of Electrical Engineering (1983-1987) and Computer Science (1993-1995) of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the Director of the Department of Modernization Programs of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (2005-2007) and acted as Subsecretary of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2007–2008). He obtained his doctorate in Computer Science at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, France, in 1983 and his Habilitation at Université Paris XIII, France, in 1990. He was a President of the Brazilian Operations Research Society (1989-1990), a President of the Latin-American Association of Operations Research Societies (1992-1994), and a Vice-President of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (1998-2000). His research is funded by the Brazilian Council of Scientific and Technological Development and by the Rio de Janeiro State Foundation for Research Support. He is the editor of six books and the author of more than 140 papers in international journals and 25 book chapters. He has supervised 29 doctorate dissertations and 37 master theses. Dr. Ribeiro is the General Editor of the journal International Transactions in Operational Research. He is also the coauthor of the book “Optimization by GRASP: Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures”, published by Springer in 2016.

Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman began his career at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in mid-2007 as a lecturer and appointed as a senior lecturer in early 2008. In January 2010, he was appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Systems. His specialization is in the field of electronic engineering specifically in optical communication system. He has been involved in many impact researches, academic writing, teaching, supervision, leadership positions, registered prototype and innovation, policy development and community services. He was promoted to full Professor at the age of 33 years old; which is very young and rare in Malaysia. This has demonstrated his outstanding personality and contribution to the field of science and technology. He was Deputy Dean Academic in Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment before been promoted to Director of Alumni Relation Center, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is also professional engineer registered under Board of Egineering Malaysia. To date, he has produced more than 13 PhD graduates, 16 Master of Science students, 286 journal articles, 196 proceeding, 21 books, 10 chapter in book. 24 awards/medals for science and technology exhibitions, 6 granted research patents, lead more than 10 impact research with cumulative MYR 4 million, head more than 5 impact community, held more than 10 administration positions, and involved in more than 5 important committees (e.g., Program Accreditation Evaluation Panel for Washington Accord EAC & ETAC, Malaysia Academic of Science).He was giving the keynote speech in several reputable conferences such as 2020 5th International Seminar on Computer Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ISCME 2020), 2019 4th International Conference on Information Science, Computer Technology and Transportation (ISCTT 2019), 2020 World Conference of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (2020 WCASET) and many more. During his tenure at UKM, he was appointed as the appraiser grants Industrial Grant Scheme (IGS) and was involved in giving advice to the Ministry of Health in the assessment of the use of Long-Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) before they are brought into Malaysia. He is also active in giving motivational talks to university students as well as speakers for Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to guide the new lecturers/researchers in conducting research.

Zita Vale is Full Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the of the Institute of Engineering – Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP). She received her diploma in Electrical Engineering in 1986, her PhD in 1993, and her Habilitation in 2003, from University of Porto. She works in the area of Power and Energy Systems, with special interest in the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques. She has been involved in more than 60 funded projects related to the development and use of Knowledge-Based systems, Multi-Agent systems, Neural networks, Particle Swarm Intelligence, and Data Mining. The main application fields of these projects comprise: - Smart Grids, accommodating an intensive use of Renewable Energy Sources, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), namely Distributed Generation (DG), storage, electrical vehicles, including the ones with gridable capability (V2G), and demand flexibility. Real-time management and simulation of energy resources, considering electrical networks, buildings, and diverse Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) approaches are relevant aspects of her work in this field; - Electricity markets, addressing decision-support for market participants, prices and tariffs, ancillary services, energy transactions, service provision, and market simulation in the scope of wholesale and local markets. The integration of DER, demand response, and EVs in electricity markets, Transactive Energy (TE), and Peer-to-Peer approaches are important aspects of her work. Her work also focuses on the conception, development and test of new business models for market participants and aggregation models for energy resources and the respective management and operation methods.

Dr. Qingyu Zhang is a Distinguished Professor and Director of the Research Institute of Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management at Shenzhen University, China. He earned his PhD in Manufacturing Management and Engineering from the University of Toledo, USA, and M.E. (Management Engineering), B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) & B.A. (Economics) from Tsinghua University, China. His research interests are sustainable operations.

Chaouki Ghenai is an Associate Professor at the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Department (SREE), College of Engineering; Coordinator of the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Research Group, Center for Sustainable Energy and Power Systems, at the Research Institute for Sciences and Engineering (RISE), and the Chairman of the Research Funding Department at the Office of Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, University of Sharjah. Dr. Ghenai received his PhD and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Orleans University, Orleans, France and Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Constantine University, Constantine, Algeria. Before Joining the University of Sharjah, Dr. Ghenai was an Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida and Project Manager at the Applied Research Centre, Miami, Florida. He worked also as a post doc at Cornel University (Ithaca, New York), and Research Associate at Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas), and University of California Los Angeles (Los Angeles, California). He received several teaching and research awards including Distinguished Faculty Research Award, University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE (2018), Award for Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Teaching, Florida Atlantic University, Florida, USA (2010), Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (2019), and 6th and 7th Sharjah Sustainability Awards. Dr. Ghenai has published more than 130 research papers in technical journals, book chapters, and books. His research interests are renewable energy (bioenergy, solar, wind, and fuel cell), energy efficiency (building, transportation, industry), energy transition (Decarbonization, Digitalization, and Decentralization of the energy sector), combustion (solid, liquid an gas fuels), biofuels, alternative fuels (biogas, syngas, bio-oil, biodiesel, hydrogen), clean combustion technologies, waste to energy (pyrolysis, gasification, anaerobic digestion), sustainability, eco-design, energy-water nexus, energy planning and climate change mitigation assessment, modeling and simulation of micro gird power systems and air pollution.

Rui Pestana, male, Master degree, Engineer of Electrical Engineering and Computers from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. He received the title of Expert in Energy by the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. Project leader on the research centre R&D NESTER. Advisor of the System Operator division with REN - Rede Eléctrica Nacional S.A. (Portuguese TSO). Invited Professor at ISEL – Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. He has been working in several WG of CIGRE, ENTSO-E and European project funded by FP6, FP7 and H2020. He received the “CIGRE Technical Committee Award”.

Jae-Jin Shim received his BS degree from Seoul National University in 1980, MS degree from KAIST in 1982, PhD degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He has been a Professor in Yeungnam University since 1994 and served as School Chairman and Vice-Dean of Engineering. He was the President of the Korean Society of Clean Technology and Vice President of the Korean Society of Engineering Education. He is the Director of Institute of Clean Technology and Clean Energy Priority Research Center and served as the Chief Editor of Clean Technology. He has published 150 papers in reputed journals.

Massimo Guarnieri was born near Venice, Italy, in 1955. He graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering at Padua in 1979, received the master degree in Plasma and Thermonuclear Fusion Research in 1982 and the PhD degree in electrical science in Rome in 1987. In 1982 he joined the CNR (Italian National Council of Researches) and in 1983 the University of Padua, where he is full professor of electrical engineering from 2000. Initially he centered his work on the analysis and design of large electromagnetic devices for the Eta-Beta II experiment and next for the RFX experiment, both related to the thermonuclear fusion research. He later moved his interests in the area of the innovative computational electromagnetism and coupled problems. In the last years he has concentrated on Fuel Cells modeling and parameters identification. He wrote several test books and is also widely interested in history of technology and science.

Dr Saim Memon is the Head of Solar Thermal Vacuum Engineering Research Group, Senior lecturer and Course Director at London Centre for Energy Engineering, London South Bank University, London, UK. He studied PhD in Mechanical, Electrical & Manufacturing Engineering as part of EPSRC Funded CALEBRE Project (Loughborough University, UK), PGCert Teaching Qualification (University of Aberdeen, UK), MSc in Mechatronics (Staffordshire University, UK), BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering MUET. He is Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy and having Qualified Teacher status by General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). His research experiences are on are on: energy-materials for vacuum-insulated-smart-windows to net Zero Energy Buildings; vacuum based photovoltaic solar thermal collector; applied semi-transparent photovoltaics and electrochromic films; translucent vacuum insulation panel; renewable energy technologies; thermoelectric devices for energy harvesting applications with vacuum-insulation; smart-grid integration to electric-vehicles with fast charging battery mechanism and; harvesting the concentrated solar irradiations to useful electrical energy. He published over 60 research articles in the form of journals, book-chapters, patent-provisional, conferences, book-editor, newsletter and magazines. In 2020, he published 23 research articles. He has over 8 recent journals published & recognised as 4* for REF 2021. He raised funding of £261,789 from H2020, Innovate-UK, The IET/IMechE Engineering-Education-Grant-Scheme EEGS, DAIWA-Anglo-Japanese, Royal Academy of Engineering participation and Newton-Fund participation grants. He leads international collaborations. He has been invited speaker in numerous conferences/workshops and presented research findings and developed collaboration with researchers in the UK, Europe, USA, UAE, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Kenya, Peru, South Africa, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, China and Hong Kong. He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Solar Thermal Vacuum Engineering with international collaboration of 14 countries worldwide. He was also an Editor-in-Chief for the book on Advanced Thermoelectric Materials for Energy Harvesting Applications, it attracted worldwide collaborations. He holds a Guest Editor role in Sustainability on a special issue of Renewable Energy and Advanced Smart Vacuum Insulations Technologies for Zero Energy Buildings (2019-2021). He also holds a Guest Editor role in Energies on a special issue in Applied Solar Thermal Energy (2020-2021). He is a recognised reviewer of over 18 prestigious journals by Elsevier, Springer, IEEE, Taylor & Francis and MDPI publishers. He taught 35 BEng/MSc modules and supervised over 25 BEng/MSc/PhD projects. He demonstrated and evidenced his excellent track record in Teaching and Supervision practices throughout his career. He developed and led a project that engaged local London Engineering students on Solar Car Challenge as part of the IET IMechE Engineering Education Grant Scheme. He also organised and chaired international and national conferences. He is founder of DEEE Society at LSBU for students’ academic engagement. He has outstanding volunteer contributions throughout his academic career as evidenced on his profile such as: he contributed to the society as vice-chairman of The IET Young Professionals; elected Executive Officer at Staffordshire University Students Union; elected committee member of Postgrad Taught Students at NUS UK; elected vice-chair at Loughborough University Postgraduate Association; elected honorary secretary and committee member at Vacuum Group Institute of Physics; and many more volunteer roles he held and served our UK community.

Prof. Wu received his B. S. degree and Ph. D. degree in Energy information and Automation in Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2008 and 2014. He joined Southeast University in 2014 as assistant professor in School of Energy and Environment, was promoted to associate professor in 2019. Since 2019, he has been a visiting professor in Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the University of Sheffield, UK. Prof. Wu has been investigators in over 20 research grants with funding from European Union, Royal Society, NSFC, MOST and Industry. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers including Applied Energy, Energy, Fuel, IEEE Trans. Energy Conversion. He has been awarded Jiangsu Outstanding Youth Foundation, Excellent young scholar of Jiangsu Engineering Thermophysics Society, Royal Society-Sino-British Trust International Fellow, Young Science and Technology Talents of Jiangsu Province in the last three years. His main research area is in Process Systems Engineering for Energy and Environment, including Process Modelling, Simulation, Control and Optimization, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Power Plants，Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) and Integrated Energy System (IES).

Dr. Gharehdaghi earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal–Fluid Sciences, at the University of Nevada–Las Vegas, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Conversion, at the University of Tehran, and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the K. N. Toosi University of Technology. Sam has years of engineering experience that he takes to his classes and shares with his students. His research interests focus on a broad range of experimental assessment and computational simulation of thermal–fluid systems and materials characterization. Particularly, Dr. Gharehdaghi is interested in interdisciplinary research that helps to reduce the human-emitted greenhouse gases, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce the cost for the end-users.

Dr Hossein Ameli is a research associate at Imperial College London. He got his PhD degree from Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at Imperial College London. His research is mainly focused on interaction of gas/hydrogen and electricity systems from operation and planning perspectives. In this context, the modelling is carried out for e.g., GB energy system in 2030 and 2050, where a significant part of heat and transport sector should be electrified. Furthermore, cost-effective transition to lower-carbon energy system achieved by employment of flexibility options (i.e., demand side response, electricity storage, flexible gas plants, multi-directional compressors, and interconnections) in the integrated operation and planning of different energy vectors (mainly gas/hydrogen, heat and electricity) is investigated. He contributed in many scientific papers as well as research projects related to energy industry such as projects for Committee of Climate Change (CCC) and Ofgem.

He was born in Ferrara on April 21st, 1971. He received the "Laurea" degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering in June, 1996 from the Department of Engineering at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Italy). In February, 2000 I was awarded the Ph.D. in ``Information Science: Automatic Control'' at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara and Modena (Italy). Since 1999 He have been a IEEE Valued Member and Research Associate at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria of the Università di Ferrara. Since July 2000 I am a member of the Technical Committee SAFEPROCESS. Since February 2002 I am Assistan Professor at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara. He received the nomination of IEEE Senior Member in December 2006. His research interests include fault diagnosis of dynamic processes, system modelling and identification, and the interaction issues between identification and fault diagnosis. He am a reviewer of many international journals and author of more than 180 international journal and conference papers, as well as three books on these topics.

Dr. Susanta K. Das is currently working as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Kettering University, Flint, Michigan, United States of America. Before joining at Kettering University in 2006, Dr. Das worked at McGill University, Canada from 2000-2005 and University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from 2005-2006. Professor Das received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Professor Das has extensive experienceand expertise in Thermal-Fluid Sciences – Multi-scale Modeling, Simulation and experimentation; Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Technology research and Renewable Energy Systems - Modeling, simulation, experiment and design of Wind Energy and Solar Energy systems; Alternative Fuels Reforming process and Integration; Lithium-Air/ion Battery Development and Deployment in Transportation and Power Electronics Applications, advanced/hybrid Electric Vehicle IntegrationSystems with Fuel Cells and Battery/Ultracapacitors for Transportation and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Applications; Advanced Materials for Energy Applications; Multiphase Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer in Thermo-fluids; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis of Turbulent and Complex Fluids; and Phase Separation Dynamics in Multiphase Polymer-Liquid Crystalline Composite Materials. Both experimentation and computer model simulation methods are utilized in Professor Das’ research activities. Professor Das’ scholarly contributions include United States patents, book chapters, high impact research journal papers/articles, peer-reviewed conference papers, multiple awards and invited/keynote speaker in research seminars/symposiums/conferences.

Dr. Zafar is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering (SREE) at University of Sharjah. He worked previously as a post-doctoral researcher in the iSmart group in the Department of Engineering Systems and Management, Masdar Institute, U.A.E. He has completed his PhD from University of Malaya. He has graduated with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Hons.), University Tenaga Nasional, and Malaysia. He is the reviewer for several international journals. He works in the field of Renewable Energy, Energy and Exergy Analysis, Solar Energy (Solar PV, Solar Collector, Energy Efficiency, Efficiency Improvement), Heat Transfer (Heat Transfer, Cooling and Heating), Nanofluids (Thermophysical properties, optical properties, Application of nanofluids), Underhood Thermal Management ( RadTherm, HyperMesh, Radiator, exhaust system and vehicle simulation model) and Active Thermography ( Pulse Thermography, Lock-in Thermography, Composite Structures) and 3D printing. He is the author and co-author of more than 26 research paper and 8 international conference proceedings. Dr. Zafar has 208 citations with an h-index of 7. Dr. Zafar is currently working with industrial collaborative projects which are confidential. Dr. Zafar is also serving at the Editorial Board Member for three ISI Journals.

Maarja Meitern is a senior urban energy system specialist in consulting firm Bax & Company and a doctoral candidate at the Vrije Universiteit of Brussels on topic of energy communities and related European regulation. Ms. Meitern supports the design of energy communities in Spain, Estonia and The Netherlands, and works with cities in designing strategies for the transition towards electrification, and public-private collaborative models.

Hansong Xue is a research fellow and team leader for the thin-film device modeling team in the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). He received his PhD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2019. In his PhD thesis titled “Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Perovskite Solar Cells” he established a multiscale modeling framework that quantifies morphology-performance relations, power-loss mechanisms and overall efficiency for perovskite solar cells. He also holds a dual MS in Chemistry and Mathematics from Nanyang Technological University (2015) and NUS (2011), as well as a BS in Mathematics with first class honours from NUS (2009). His research interests include solar photovoltaics, mainly perovskite and organic solar cells, perovskite on silicon or III-V tandem device, mathematical modelling of transport phenomena, optical modeling, computational chemistry, reaction kinetics for mechanistic study, photochemical flow reactions.

Anmol Sharma is currently Senior Member of Technical Staff at Texas Instruments where he has been working since last 21 years. He received Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. His main focus area is in Integrated Circuit Design. Within this domain he specializes in Power and Analog Circuits ranging from Switching Regulators, Low Dropout Regulators, Battery Chargers, Precision References, High Performance Amplifiers and low power circuits. He has published several International technical papers and is an inventor in 20 patents (10 granted) in the mentioned technical fields. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and member of Technical Committee of IEEE Power and Energy Circuits and Systems Society.

Dr. Nataly Carolina Rosero-Navarro got Doctor in Chemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, in 2011. After that, she was awarded with two postdoctoral position in 2012 and 2013 at Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage Group of University of Aveiro and at Division of Applied Chemistry of Hokkaido University, respectively. In 2016, she was appointed as assistant professor at Hokkaido University. Her research career has been based on the implementation of the solution processes for the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials (glassy and crystalline) and organic-inorganic hybrid materials as coatings, membranes and composites for various applications: corrosion protection of metals and alloys, electrodes and electrolytes for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC) and Li-secondary batteries.

Prof. Sugiura earned his M.S. in Energy Engineering, Coke combustion, at Toyohashi University of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Life and Environmental Engineering, Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell. He was engaged in research on robots for extreme work at the Central Research Laboratory of Konoike Corporation, and later engaged in the development of molten carbonate fuel cells at the Functional Materials Research Laboratory of SANYO Electric Co.In 1992, he was transferred to the Systems and Control Engineering Division of Osaka Prefecture University College of Technology, where he started joint research on molten carbonate fuel cells with National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Prof. Sugiurais committed to developing students through research.His research interests focus on a broad range of experimental assessment of various fuel cells, Hydrogen production, CO2 selective facilitated membrane and thermal insulation.Particularly, he is interested in interdisciplinary research that helps Energy conversion of food waste, energy-saving technologies and low-cost fuel cells.

Tahar Tayachi, PhD joined Effat University College of Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance in August 2014. Dr Tayachi’s research interests are in Islamic finance, derivatives and asset pricing. He is chair of finance department and chair of Islamic Financial Conference for the previous sessions 2015 and 2017.

Professor Asadullah Shah started his career as a Computer Technology lecturer in 1986. Before joining IIUM in January 2011, he worked in Pakistan as a full professor (2001-2010) at Isra, IOBM and SIBA. He earned his Ph.D in Multimedia Communication from the University of Surrey UK in 1998. During his 28 years of teaching, he has taught courses in the fields of Electronics, Computers, Multimedia Communication and Research Methodologies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has held various administrative positions throughout his carreer as Head of Department, Dean, controller of examinations, member board of governors, member selection boards, and expert on various forums. He has published 180 articles in ISI and Scopus indexed publications. In addition to that, he has published 12 books. Since 2012, he has been working as a resource person and delivering workshops on proposal writing, research methodologies and literature review at Student Learning Unit (SLeU), Faculty of Economics and KICT, International Islamic University Malaysia and consultancies to other organizations. He is the winner of many gold, silver and bronze medals in his carreer and reviewer for many ISI, and Scopus indexed journals, and other journals of high repute. Currently, he is supervising many Ph.D projects in KICT in the field of IT and CS.

He have received the BcS Degree from the Department of Physics and the PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, both at University of Patras. From 2001 to 2012 He have been working in several positions at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Patras as well as at the Department of Electrical Engineering of Technological and Educational Institute of Patras. In 2009 He established a consultancy office on electric and mechanical systems under the brand “Andreas Theocharis-Consultancy on Electromechanical Systems”. The activities of that office stopped in 2012 where I moved to The Netherlands. From August 2012 to August 2014 I was working as a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher in the Intelligent Electrical Power Grids group, at the Department of Electrical Sustainable Energy, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, of the Technological University of Delft. Currently, I am member of the faculty of the Health, Science and Technology at Karlstad University, Sweden. He is an experienced on electrical power systems engineering with a deep knowledge of developing and designing of electrical power systems, in order to meet the requirements and standards for reliability, stability, safety and economy. A strong track of successfully completed research and industrial projects, which cover issues from design, optimization and realization of electrical power systems installations to power systems units and prototype models development, is characterizing my career trajectory.

Goshtasp Cheraghian is a research associate at Braunschweig Pavement Engineering Centre (ISBS) at the Technische Universität Braunschweig since May 2018. As a young multidisciplinary scholar, he received numerous honors and awards. He has published over 40 papers in the leading worldwide journals, has presented over 30 articles at scientific and technical conferences, and holds seven patents. He serves as the editor/guest editor and reviewer of 48 scientific journals from Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, MDPI, ACS, ASME, and Taylor & Francis publications. His interest research subjects include polymer nanocomposites, characterization of bitumen, nanofluids, asphalt materials, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), asphaltene, and wax studies. His research focuses on polymer/nanocomposites in order to understand nanoparticles interactions at the nanoscale and rheological properties of them in complex fluids.

Nguyen Quynh Mai is a PhD student at The National Institute of Solar Energy – CEA in France. She received a Master degree in Energy and Management at Ecole Polytechnique from 2017 to 2019. Currently, she is working on the flexibility of energy consumption in different spatial and temporal scale. She concentrates on building the energy models for different types of load in residential with the objective of evaluating and controlling the potential flexibility

Francesco Calise was born in 1978 and graduated cum laude in mechanical engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy in 2002. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Thermal Engineering in 2006. From 2006 to 2014, he is a Researcher and Assistant Professor of applied thermodynamics at the University of Naples Federico II. In 2014 he has been entitled as Associate Professor at the University of Naples Federico II. His research activity has been mainly focused on the following topics: fuel cells, advanced optimization techniques, solar thermal systems, concentrating photovoltaic/thermal photovoltaic systems, energy saving in buildings, solar heating and cooling, Organic Rankine Cycles, geothermal energy, dynamic simulations of energy systems, renewable Polygeneration systems and many others. He was invited lecturer for some courses or Conferences (UK and Finland). He teaches several courses of energy management and applied thermodynamics at the University of Naples Federico II for BsC, MS and PhD students. He was a supervisor of several Ph.D. degree theses. He is a reviewer of about 30 international Journals. He was involved in several Research Projects funded by EU and Italian Government. He is Member of the Editorial Board of 10 International Journals. He was a Conference Chair and/or member of Scientific Committee in several session of International Conferences. Noelle Gogneau is a CNRS Research Director at the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (C2N-CNRS) from Paris-Saclay University. She received her Ph.D. degree in Physics in 2004. After a post-doctoral position at the Laboratory of Physics of Nanostructures – EPFL – Lausanne, Switzerland, she joined the C2N-CNRS in 2006. From 2011, her research activities are centered on the growth of III-N NWs by Plasma Assisted – molecular beam epitaxy and their characterization for Nano-Energy applications, with an emphasis on the development of a new generation of nano/piezo-generators. She is today an expert in the III-N NWs growth and the piezoelectric phenomena involving at nanometer scale. NG has coordinated the “Surface Nanostructuration” axis (2013-2016) and the “Properties and application of epitaxial systems” axis (2017-2020) of the French research group PULSE dedicated to epitaxy of semiconductor systems. She is currently the chair of the European COST Action OPERA – “European Network for Innovative and Advanced Epitaxy” dedicated to the development of more efficient and cheaper devices and the development of new devices with new functionalities.

Born in 1988, graduated in electrical engineering with a master's degree in 2011. In 2008 started his participation in Emove project, for the purpose of developing an electrical generator for wave energy. During Emove participation, he participated in ISCTE-IUL MIT Portugal competition, finishing as semi finalist. With this competition he made a crash course in “Innovation and Entrepreneurship initiative” at 2010. At 2010 started his functions as CTO (chief technical officer) and managing partner at Emove - Innovative technologies. At 2011 finished his master degree in Electrical and Computers Engineering with a thesis in the scope of the international project “OFFWINDTECH”, in the field of OFFSHORE wind energy. Start working at EFACEC at 2011, in the area of Power Plants engineering, giving his contribute to the Cogeneration Power Plant of Luanda's Refinary project. At 2012 finish the first 1:10 scale prototype of EMOVE's generator and tested it on Instituto Superior Técnico, with sucess. He obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at IST in 2017 with a PhD national scholarship and followed his work with a Post-Doc scholarship at IDMEC/LAETA until 2018. In 2014, was invited to be assistant teacher at Instituto Superior Técnico, lecturing the curses of Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering (ETeo); Electrotechnical Elements (EELe); Electrical Machines (MEle); Electrical Drives and Electrical Vehicles (AVE). In February 2018 started as assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Instituto Superior Técnico of University of Lisbon. Since 2016 he has been developing his research work at research center IDMEC/LAETA in the areas of electrical machines, multi-physic modeling and optimization. His research interests are in the areas of applied electromagnetism and energy conversion and new materials to applied to electric machines, having published several works in international journals, among them, in IEEE trans. Industrial Electronics, Energy Conversion and Management and Applied Energy.

Stefano Rinaldi received the M.S. degree (Hons.) in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electronic instrumentation from the University of Brescia, Brescia, Italy in 2006 and 2010, respectively. He is Senior Assistant Professor with the Department of Information Engineering, University of Brescia. He is author of more than 160 research papers. His current research interest includes industrial real-time Ethernet network, communication and automation systems for smart grid and renewable generators, Internet of Things and Cyber Physical System, cognitive buildings, electric vehicles and charging systems. He is member of IEEE1588 WG and of the IEEE TCFA F4 technical subcommittee.

Olivia Bory Devisme is currently a PhD student in energetic physics at the University of La Reunion island France, Indian Ocean Her research's contribution focuses on energy autonomous buildings with the deployment of DC microgrid architectures. Due to its location in the Indian Ocean, the Reunion Island energy distribution mainly depends on fossil energy despite significant solar energy resource potential. One objective of her PhD is to deploy DC electrical architecture to demonstrate the energy efficiency proposed by local DC microgrids versus AC electrical network distribution reliability in tropical area. She will manage different electrical elements connected to the DC bus solar panel and storages: batteries LiFEPO4 and Hydrogen to optimize electrical efficiency

Dragan Ćetenović received his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, University of Kragujevac, Serbia, in 2011, 2013 and 2019, respectively. After completion of PhD, he was promoted to Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, University of Kragujevac, Serbia. In August 2019, he joined to The University of Manchester, Manchester, UK, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Multi-Energy Networks (ICT & Big Data) Engineering. As a part of the core research team of the Supergen Energy Networks Hub, he works to develop approaches for advanced state-estimation intended to dynamic security assessment of integrated energy networks. He is also a part of the research team at MC2 (Multi-energy Control of Cyber-Physical Urban Energy Systems) UK-China project. His other research interests include power system state estimation, fault analysis, power system protection, distribution networks and distributed energy resources.

Dr. Young Mo Chung received the B.S., M.S., and Ph. D. degrees from Seoul National University, Seoul Korea, in 1986, 1988, and 1993, respectively, all in control and instrumentation engineering. From 1992 to 1994, he was an Assistant at the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. He was with the Engineering Research Center for Control and Instrumentation, Seoul National University, engaged in the development of digital high definition TV and mobile radio systems from 1994 to 1995. In 1995, he joined the Department of Information and Communications Engineering, Hansung University, Seoul, Korea, where he is currently a Professor. From August 1998 to July 1999, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wireless Systems Laboratory, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. From July 2005 to August 2006, he was a visiting professor at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, USA. His current research interests are in wireless communication systems and communication signal processing.

Fernando García received the B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering (2011) from the University of Santiago, Chile, MScin Statistics and Operations Research (2018) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and he is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineer from UPC. He worked five years as a senior engineer developing economic evaluations of strategic projects in recognized private companies in Chile. Currently, he is a researcher at Catalonia Institute for Energy Research and an assistant professor of the Industrial Department at the University of Santiago, Chile.His researches mainly focus on the mathematical modelling for the optimal integration of distributed energy resources (DER) into distribution networks, modelling and simulation of flexibility services in networks with high DERs penetration, and P2P energy trading in small local markets.

DrYong Yi currently works as Postdoc Fellow in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2017. His researches focus on novel dielectric material for application of electrical power system; condition monitoringfor smart electrical grid; machine learningfor high-temperature polymer-based dielectrics; conductor aging in smart electrical grid; high voltage engineering. He is a reviewer of about 20 international Journals. He is editorial members of 4 international Journals. He was a conference chair and presenter in two sessions of IEEE Conferences.

Maria Vicidomini was born in 1988 and graduated cum laude in Environmental engineering at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, she was a fellow researcher at the University of Naples Federico II. She obtained the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering in 2018. In 2019 she has been entitled as Researcher at the University of Naples Federico II. Her research activity has been mainly focused on the development of dynamic simulation models for the energy, exergy, economic and environmental analysis and impact of innovative systems for distributed polygeneration systems, supplied by renewable energy (geothermal, solar, wind energy) and natural gas. Building Integrated Solar Thermal Systems and internal combustion engines for the production of heat, cool and power. Solar heating and cooling systems. Solar desalination systems. Hybrid renewable system based on wind, solar and geothermal energy. Electrical storage. Electric vehicles. Her research activity is also developed in cooperation with several international institutions (Portugal, Iran, Turkey, Denmark, China, Croatia, Poland, Germany, Canada). She was a supervisor of several BsC, MS and PhD students at the University of Naples Federico II. She is a reviewer of about 15 international Journals. She was guest editor in special issues on International Journals. She is a member of the scientific committee of several international conferences and she is also involved in the organizing committee of the CEER 2020 Conferences. Dr Lujia Xu currently works as Postdoc Fellow in King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST). He obtained his PhD from The Australian National University (ANU) in 2015. He worked in Zhejiang Jinko Solar Co., Ltd as R&D manager from 2015-2016. He was employed as Research Fellow in Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), National University of Singapore (NUS) from 2016-2018. He moved to KAUST since 2018. His research focus is on the heat control of PV system, characterization of solar cells and modules, cost analysis of PV system, optical/electrical/temperature simulation of solar cells and modules.

Isil Gurten Inal is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department of Ankara University (Turkey). She worked as a research and teaching assistant before joining the faculty for over 15 years at the same department. Her areas of interest are devoted to chemical and electrochemical applications of carbon materials, with special attention to the development of carbon materials with controlled porosity and surface functionality for applications to energy storage/conversion and environmental protection. She has ongoing research relating to the preparation of porous carbon/graphene composites for supercapacitor and battery applications. The preparation and deployment of new materials are at the forefront of her research. Historically, in her Ph.D., she worked in the development of high-performance supercapacitors from sustainable biomass-based activated carbons. During her MSc, she studied the production and the chemical/structural characterization of activated carbons and investigation of its adsorption properties

Dr Ntambu Pitshou Bokoro is Senior Lecturer in the department of electrical engineering technology of the University of Johannesburg. His research interests are: Power Systems; Insulation coordination and surge protection; condition monitoring; renewable energies. He is an author and co-author of several articles and conference papers.

Dr. Ahmet Aksöz obtained his PhD degree in 2018 from Gazi University. He is a member of the power electronics and electrical machines (PEEM) team in MOBI Research Centre as a postdoctoral researcher. He has one patent and more than 40 publications. His research interest includes power electronics, electrical machines, electric vehicles, modelling techniques and control systems, battery management systems (BMS), optimization techniques, smart grid and renewable energy.

Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba UFPB (1999), Campus Campina Grande, currently transformed into the Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG, Master in Civil Engineering from the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP (2002) and PhD in Electrical Engineering from State University of Campinas - UNICAMP (2005). He is currently linked to the faculty of the Polytechnic School of the University of Pernambuco, assigned to the Basic Engineering Course and Permanent Professor in the Systems Engineering Graduate Program (PPGES). He works as a researcher in research & development projects and in addition to teaching and extension activities in the areas: probability, statistics, stochastic processes, water resources, time series forecasting, Box and Jenkins models, artificial neural networks, renewable energies and energy planning. He works as a teacher in post-graduate courses (lato sensu) at POLI / UPE: Specialization in Construction and Assembly Engineering, Quality / Productivity Management and Automotive Engineering. He is currently coordinator and professor of the Specialization Course in Reliability Engineering, in the area of ​​Life Data Analysis, Repairable Systems and Extreme Conditions of Use.

Marina Frolova currently works at the Departamento de Análisis Geográfico Regional y Geografía Física, University of Granada. Marina does research in landscape analysis and renewable energies landscape impacts. ABDULLAH ALTMIMI received the B.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Hail, Saudi Arabia, in 2011. The M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering for renewable and sustainable energy was received from University of Nottingham, UK, in 2015. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical power engineering from the University of Birmingham, U.K., in 2020. He joined Majmaah university, Saudi Arabia, as assistant teacher, and lecturer between 2012 and 2020. He is currently assistant professor in Electrical Engineering Department at Majmaah University. His current research interests include renewable energy technologies and integration, smart grids, power system reliability and stability, climate change impacts and distributed generation. He has authored a significant number of research articles in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. He is also a reviewer and editor in number of recognized international journals.

Dr. Amjad Ali is an energy engineer with more than 17 years of experience as an adviser, expert, manager, and trainer in commercial, domestics and industrial sectors on energy policies and standards/energy efficiency and energy management projects. He has a strong background in energy engineering with policies, standards and economic expertise. Dr. Ali worked with USAID, UNDP, GEF, GTZ, and Government of Pakistan as an energy expert in projects for industrial clients, governmental bodies and international organizations for technical cooperation. He is an expert advisor to several state and federal ministries as well as industry and trade associations in the fields of energy policy, energy efficiency and energy management. As PhD scholar he have successfully executed complex and multidisciplinary energy-related projects and programs as well as international training and research projects in the field of energy policy, energy efficiency, energy management, and energy audit. Currently he is working as research scientist at Center for Research Excellence in Renewable Energy (CoRE-RE), King Fahad University of petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He is working on renewable energy policy challenges and issues for successful development and deployment of Saudi Arabia VISION-2030 renewable energy targets of 58.7 GW in which 40 GW solar PV, 16 GW wind, and 2.7 GW other RE sourcesare plannedby 2030.

Lingai Luo received her PhD degree (1991) in Mechanic and Thermal Engineering from National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (INPL), Nancy, France. She worked as Associate Professor at University of Nancy I and at INPL, France. From 2003 until 2012, she was a full Professor at University of Savoie, France. She is now Senior Research Director of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the Laboratory of Thermo-kinetics, Nantes (LTN), France. She is the author of 2 books and over 100 journal articles. She was the Head of Laboratory of Design Optimization and Environmental Engineering (LOCIE) of CNRS and University of Savoie. She was the Co-founder and Coordinator of Sino-French Collaboratory for Environmental and Process Engineering and is the Head of its successor Sino-French Laboratory for Sustainable Energy of French CNRS and Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is also an invited Professor at 5 Chinese universities/ institutions, and Leuphana University at Lüneburg, Germany. She is Editor-in-Chief of a new journal, Heat Exchangers, Subject Editor for the topic “Energy and Buildings” of Elsevier journal Energy, and Member of Editorial Board of Renewable Energy, and Associate Editor of Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering.

He is Radiation Protection and Nuclear Security Expert, and Assistant Prof of Radiation Physics working for Umm Al-Qura University. He was working for Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) Sep. 2012 to June 2019 - College of Forensic Sciences, as assistant prof. of nuclear security and vice dean of the college from 2014 to 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jordan from Sep. 2011 to August 2012 and as a researcher on radiation safety from 1990 to 1998 and from 2004 to Sep.2006. I served as an assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science, assistant professor of nuclear and radiation physics, and as the chair of the Applied Physics Department of Tafila Technical University, Jordan during the period Sep. 2006- Sep. 2011. I have received training on radiation protection and radiological emergency preparedness in Jordan, Turkey, the United States, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, Iran, and Syria. In addition, I have attended numerous conferences on nuclear energy around the world. I have published more than 40 papers and 3 books, on the subject. Mohammed Abdaldaim Ibrahim was born in Khartoum, Sudan, in 1985. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the Omdurman Islamic University of Sudan in 2008, M.SC degree in Control Engineering from the ALNeelain University of Sudan in 2015. Where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with the North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China. His current research interests include the optimized design of substation grounding grid and transmission line depending on parameter magnetic components and change variables.

Roberta Consentino Kronka Mülfarth is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (USP) since 2006; Head of Technology Department and the Deputy Head of USP CIDADES. Her areas of interest include Architecture and Urbanism Technology, and its sub-area of Environmental Comfort, particularly ergonomics, sustainability, environmental impact and well-being. She has been a special collaborator at AUCANI – USP International Office, since 2012, mainly with the UGPN – University Global Partnership Network and WC2 World Cities World Class University Network. Since 2012, she has been a member of the University of São Paulo University's Network of Universities (WC2), Ecocampus Theme and Strategic Group. She has been involved in the WC2 Summer Symposium since its first edition in London in 2015.

Alain C. Biboum earned his MSc from Polytechnic High School at Cheickh Anta Diop University in 2014. After that, he enrolled in PhD Program at Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ege University. In 2019, he did his PhD on a solar-Biomass system installed in Faro – Poli, Cameroon. He worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Douala, National Higher Polytechnic School of Douala. Currently, he is working as on thermodynamic analysis, optimization, energy, and exergoeconomic analysis of thermal systems based on renewable energy technologiesat the University of Yaoundé, National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaoundé.

Arthur Mouco received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil, in 2006; his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2011; and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston – US, in 2019. He has been working for the Brazilian Independent System Operator for 10+ years, now focused on power systems technology research and development. He is an IEEE Senior Member and his areas of expertise include real-time operation, WAMS, state estimation, and fault location. He is also a reviewer for IEEE PES Transactions on Power Systems and the Electric Power Systems Research journal.

Mousalreza Faramarzi Palangar received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Flinders University, Adelaide, SA, Australia, in 2021. From 2012 to 2017, he was a Research Assistant with the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory, BabolNoshirvani University of Technology. He is the author of one book (in Persian), more than ten articles, and three patents. He was funded an industry research grant from Golestan Province Electricity Distribution Company. He has more than 6 years teaching experience as lecture and tutor in electrical engineering for various courses such as engineering mathematics, electrical machine, high voltage engineering, etc. His research interests include high-voltage engineering and electric discharge of insulators, transmission and distribution system monitoring, fault diagnosis of insulators, electric machine design and optimization, thermal analysis of electrical machine, and numerical analysis.
