Dr. Qiao is a Chair Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials of the University of Adelaide (UoA), Australia. He is the founding Director of Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis (CMEC). His research expertise is in nanomaterials for new energy technologies (electro-catalysis, photocatalysis, batteries, fuel cell). He has co-authored more than 438 papers in refereed journals, including Nature, Nature Energy, Nature Chemistry, Nature Materials, Nature Catalysis, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Angew Chem Int. Ed, J. Am. Chem. Soc, Advanced Materials (over 70,100/81,615 citations, h-index: 135/149, Web of Sci./Google Scholar). He has filed five patents on novel nanomaterials and attracted more than 15 million dollars in research grants from industrial partners and Australian Research Council (ARC). Professor Guoxiu Wang is the Director of the Centre for Clean Energy Technology and a Distinguished Professor at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He currently holds an ARC Professorial Future Fellowship. Professor Wang is an expert in materials chemistry, electrochemistry, energy storage and conversion, and battery technologies. His research interests include lithium-ion batteries, lithium-air batteries, sodium-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, supercapacitors, hydrogen storage materials, fuel-cells, graphene, and chemical functionalisation of graphene. Professor Wang has published more than 360 refereed journal papers with an h-index of 60. His publications have attracted over 13,000 citations (Web of Science).

Dr. Zhongfan Liu has completed his PhD from University of Tokyo and postdoctoral studies from the same university and Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Japan. His current research interests include the CVD growth, mass production and equipment manufacturing, and unique applications of graphene. He is the founding Director of Beijing Graphene Institute (BGI) and a BOYA chair professor of Peking University. He is the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the fellow of TWAS.

David J. Moss is Director of the Optical Sciences Centre at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, since 2016. He was with RMIT University in Melbourne, 2014-16, the University of Sydney 2004 - 14 and was a senior manager and scientist with JDS Uniphase in Ottawa Canada from 1998-2003. From 1994-98 he was a Senior Research Fellow with the Optical Fiber Technology Centre at Sydney University prior to which he was a visiting Scientist with Hitachi Central Research Laboratories in Tokyo, Japan,1992-94. From 1988-92 was with the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa. He received his PhD from the University of Toronto in Physics and BSc from the University of Waterloo. He won the 2011 Australian Museum Eureka Science Prize and Google Australia Prize for Innovation in Computer Science. He is a Fellow of the IEEE Photonics Society, the OSA (now the Optica Society) and the SPIE (International Photonics Society). His research interests include optical microcombs, integrated nonlinear optics, quantum optics, microwave photonics, optical neural networks, optical networks and transmission, 2D materials including graphene oxide for nonlinear optics, optical signal processing, nanophotonics, biomedical photonics for cancer diagnosis and therapy, and other areas.

Prof. Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 107; Google Scholar) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000). He has served as a professor at Purdue (2000-2005), Brown (2005-2012), and Northeastern (2012-2021) Universities and has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health. He has directed numerous international centers in biomaterials and has graduated over 200 students with over 750 peer-reviewed publications. Prof. Webster is a fellow of over 8 academic societies and is a Clarivate Top 0.1% Most Influential Researcher (Pharmacology and Toxicology), SCOPUS Highly Cited Researcher (top 1% citations for materials science and mixed fields) as well as a Public Library of Science (PLoS) World Top 2% Scientist by Citations in all fields.

Dr. Huangxian Ju, born on Nov.10, 1964 in Jiangsu, is currently a professor at Nanjing University, the director of State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, and vice director of Modern Analytical Center of Nanjing University. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Nanjing University in 1986, 1989 and 1992, and then became a lecturer, associate professor and professor at Nanjing University in 1992, 1993 and 1999, respectively. He was a postdoctoral researcher in Montreal University (Canada) from 1996-1997. He won the National Funds for National Distinguished Young Scholars in 2003 and was selected as a Changjiang Professor by Education Ministry of China and a National Key Talent in The New Century in 2007 by China government, a chief scientist of National Basic Research Program of China by MSTC in 2009, Fellows of the International Society of Electrochemistry and the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2015. The research interests of Professor Huangxian Ju include analytical biochemistry, nanobiosensing, bioimaging and molecular diagnosis, focusing on signal amplification and life analytical chemistry. He has published 766 papers (711 papers in SCI journals, and 486 papers in journals with IF>5), and authored 28 patents, 6 English books, 7 Chinese books, 20 chapters for 11 Chinese and 9 English books, and 6 editorial, preface or book reviews. Dr. Ya-Ping Sun earned his Ph.D. (1989) at the Florida State University with Prof. Jack Saltiel. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Josef Michl (1989-91) and Prof. Marye Anne Fox (1991-92) at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined Clemson faculty in 1992. His research interests are Materials Chemistry and Nanotech.

Professor Ohtani started his research work on photocatalysis in 1981 when he was a Ph. D. course student in Kyoto University. Since then he has been studying photocatalysis and related topics for more than 30 years and published more than 300 original papers (h-index: 72) and two single-author books. After gaining his Ph. D. degree from Kyoto University in 1985, he became an assistant professor in the university. In 1996, he was promoted to an associate professor in Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University and was then awarded a full professor position in the Catalysis Research Center (presently Institute for Catalysis), Hokkaido University in 1998. For the education of graduate students, Professor Ohtani's laboratory has belonged to the Graduate School of Environmental Science, Hokkaido University since 1999. He was awarded 2005 Scientific Achievement Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Award 2006, Catalysis Society of Japan Award for 2013, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Lectureship Award (2017) and The Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan (Takei Award), 2018.

Hiroshi Mizuta, FInstP and CPhys, is now Vice President and Director of Global Excellent Core ‘Silent Voice Sensing’ Research Center, JAIST. He was awarded with Distinguished Professorship of JAIST in 2017 and also awarded for 2018 Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for his research on 'Hybrid electro-mechanical functional devices at nanoscale.

Dr. Manoj Gupta was a former Head of Materials Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Director designate of Materials Science and Engineering Initiative at NUS, Singapore. He did his Ph.D. from University of California, Irvine, USA (1992), and postdoctoral research at University of Alberta, Canada (1992). In August 2017 he was highlighted among Top 1% Scientist of the World Position by The Universal Scientific Education and Research Network and among 2.5% among scientists as per Researchgate. To his credit are: (i) Disintegrated Melt Deposition technique and (ii) Hybrid Microwave Sintering technique, an energy efficient solid-state processing method to synthesize alloys/micro/nano-composites. He has published over 585 peer reviewed journal papers and owns two US patents and one Trade Secret. His current h-index is 67, RG index is > 47 and citations are greater than 17000. He has also co-authored six books, published by John Wiley, Springer and MRF - USA. He is Editor-in-chief/Editor of twelve international peer reviewed journals. A multiple award winner, he actively collaborate/visit Japan, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, USA and India as a visiting researcher, professor and chair professor.

Dr. Makoto Ogawa received his BS and MS degrees in Applied Chemistry from Waseda University in 1987 and 1989. His doctorate was earned at Waseda University in 1992 under the direction of Professor Chuzo Kato. After the Postdoctoral study at The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) as a special researcher for the basic science program, Science and Technology Agency, Japan, he moved to Department of Earth Sciences, Waseda University in 1995 where he became a Professor in 2004. He was a researcher of PRESTO, Japan Science and Technology Corporation (JST) from 1995 to 2000. From 2014, he moved to Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) as a professor of School of Energy Science and Engineering. Presently, he is a council of International Association for the Study of Clays (AIPEA), Associate editor of Applied Clay Science and Recent Patens in Nanotechnology. He has authored more than 300 original research papers and several tens of reviews and book chapters. The number of citation is over 12,000 times and his present h-index is 58.

Prof. Vanessa FIERRO pursued doctoral researches at the Institute of Carbo-chemistry (ICB-CSIC) and obtained her PhD from Zaragoza University (Spain). After working several years as a researcher at French Institute of Petroleum, at the Institute of Research on Catalysis and the Environment of Lyon (France) then at the Chemical Engineering School of Tarragona (Spain), she is a CNRS Research Professor as well as a member of the Technical Group Coal 2 of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS). She currently works at Institut Jean Lamour (France), a joint University of Lorraine-CNRS laboratory, where she leads the Bio-sourced Materials Research Team. Vanessa has more than 300 scientific publications, an h-index of 60 and an extensive background in the area of porous carbon materials for energy and environmental applications. Prof. Vanessa Fierro received the Charles E. Pettinos award from the American Carbon Society in 2019 and the CNRS Silver Medal in 2020.

Jae-Jin Shim received his BS degree from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1980, MS degree from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1982, and PhD degree from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, in 1990. He worked as a research scientist (1982-1986) and as a senior research scientist (1991-1994) at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). He has been a professor in Yeungnam University since 1994 and served as Vice-Dean of Engineering. He also served as the President of the Korean Society of Clean Technology and Vice President of the Korean Society of Engineering Education. He is now the Directors of the Institute of Clean Technology and the Clean Energy Priority Research Center supported by the Ministry of Education of Korea. He has published 250 papers in peer-reviewed journals, with h-index of 49, and is a member of the Editorial Board of Nanomaterials. He served as the Chief Editor of “Clean Technology” and the Editor of “Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering.”His current research interests are synthesis and applications of graphene (or carbon nanotube and carbon nano-onion)-based nanocomposites with metal oxides, sulfides, or phosphides for supercapacitors, for photocatalysis and catalysis, and sensors. New materials such as perovskites, MXene, LDH, and MOF are also under investigation for energy storage, water splitting, and wastewater treatment applications.

Prof. Pagona Papakonstantinou has been educated in Greece (BSc (Hons) in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and Great Britain (PhD in magneto-optical recording from the Queen’s University Belfast (QUB)). After post -doctoral studies at QUB, Pagona worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser in Crete, pioneering the laser induced forward transfer technology and gained industrial experience as an R&D engineer at Analogue Devices. In 1998 she moved to Ulster University (UU) as a lecturer and since 2009 is Professor of Advanced Materials specializing in R&D of strategic novel materials and multifunctional hierarchical architectures for their implementation in health-care, energy and structural power sectors. Pagona has authored over 130 publications and her work has received over 8650 citations, with an H index of 43 (google scholar). She has received an invited Research Fellowship from the Royal Society of Chemistry (2014) through ‘Leaders in the Field’ scheme for her significant contributions to nanoscience and nanomaterials and a Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE)/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship (2012).

Vladimir Fal’ko is condensed matter theorist responsible for many advances in understanding of structural, electronic and optical properties of two-dimensional materials and their heterostructures (graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, post-transition metal chalcogenides) and for various aspects of theory of quantum transport and fundamentals of nanoelectronics (ORCID 0000-0003-0828-0310). Humboldt Fellowship, EPSRC Advanced Fellowship, ERC Advanced Investigator Grant, ERC Synergy Grant, and Royal Society Wolfson Foundation Research Merit Award have marked his career; Clarivate Analytics identified him as Highly Cited Researcher in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.Falkowas the initiator of ‘Graphene Week’ conference series and a Chair-organiser more than 30 other international meetings; he is founding Editor-in-Chief of the IoP Journal ‘2D Materials’. Currently, Falko is Director of National Graphene Institute and Professor of Theoretical Physics and Head of Theory Division in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester.

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interests include intelligent photonics, optical communications and networking, optical interconnect, detection, imaging and display technology, integrated photonics, free-space and fiber optics. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >9,000 citations, four edited books, >50 issued or pending patents, >100 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial, >10 plenary and >30 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, and an Editor Board Member for three other scientific journals. Sunil Krishnan, M.B.B.S., M.D., specializes in the radiotherapy treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. Research in Dr. Krishnan's Nanotechnology and Radiation Biology Laboratory includes strategies to sensitize tumors to radiation therapy using nanoparticles, chemotherapy, botanicals, immunotherapy and novel radiation techniques including particle therapy, minibeams and boron neutron capture therapy. He evaluates approaches to protect normal tissues from radiation injury using novel agents. Dr. Krishnan also studies patterns of gene expression and imaging characteristics in human tumors that predict response to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health for over a decade.

Rodrigo Martins is full professor in Materials Science Department of Faculty of Science and Technology of New University of Lisbon, a Fellow of the Portuguese Engineering Academy since 2009 and a member of the European Academy of science since 2016. He was decorated with the gold medal of merit and distinction by the Almada Municipality for his R&D achievements. Rodrigo Martins has been involved in the pioneer European research on amorphous silicon semiconductors and pioneer with his group worldwide activity related to passive and active oxides, the so called transparent electronics and it is one of the inventors of the so-called paper electronics, where paper is exploit not only as a substrate but also as a functional component in active devices. Martins published over 700 papers and during the last 10 years got more than 14 International and national prizes and distinctions for his work.

Dr. PingAn Hu is a Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). He obtained his Ph.D degree from Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science (2004), then he worked as a JSPS research fellow at Waseda University (2004-2006), Japan, and a Research Associate in University of Cambridge (2006-2009). He has extensive experience in material science, advanced electronics and optoelectronics,and biosensors. He published about 180SCI papers in highly qualified international journals such as Nature Electronics, Nature Communication, Physical Review Letter, Journal of American Chemical Society and Advanced Materials. He has been invited as regular reviewers for over 20 international journals.

Dr. Raul Arenalis a Senior ARAID Resarcher at the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials (INMA), CSIC-University of Zaragoza (Spain) and Leader of the Nanoscopy on Low Dimensional Materials (NLDM) group at the INMA. Dr. Arenal received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Univ. Paris-Sud (Orsay, France, 2005) and in 2013, he obtained his Habilitation (HDR) also at this University (now, Paris-Saclay University). He joined the Electron Microscopy Center in Argonne National Lab. (ANL, USA) as post doctoral fellow. In 2007, he became research scientist (Chargé de Recherches) at the CNRS (France; LEM, ONERA-CNRS); since 2012, Dr. Arenal is on leave from the CNRS. From 2010 to 2011, he was visiting scientist (sabbatical position) at the Laboratorio de Microscopias Avanzadas (LMA) at the University of Zaragoza. Since 2018, he is the Coordinator of the TEM area of the LMA, Universidad de Zaragoza. Arenal’s broad area of research interest lies in electron microscopy focused on materials science and nanoscience: TEM (EELS, HR(S)TEM, electron diffraction, electron tomography). These studies are mainly focused on the growth mechanism, structural and physical properties of low dimensional materials based on carbon, boron and nitrogen as well as other nano-structures (in particular, metallic nano-objects for plasmonic/photonic interest). Dr. Habil. Vaidotas KAŽUKAUSKAS is a Professor at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University, Lithuania. He was awarded Dr. Habil. degree in 1999. The topics of his research work are carrier transport, generation, recombination and trapping phenomena in advanced materials and structures for (opto-)electronic and photovoltaic applications. Prof. V. Kažukauskas is/was involved as a team leader into the six large-scale international projects and other numerous projects. He was awarded the National Science Award of Lithuanian Republic, the National Science Award for the Distinguished Scientist, the Science Award of the Rector of Vilnius University and others. V. Kažukauskas has more than 380 publications, had delivered more than 60 invited lectures at the international conferences, and authored three textbooks.

Prof. Harri Lipsanen received his PhD from Helsinki University of Technology in 1994. Since 1999 he has been a Professor of Nanotechnology in Aalto University, Finland. He has held several positions as Head of Laboratory and Department during past 20 years. In 2018 he was Nokia Foundation Visiting Professor in the University of Arizona, USA. He studies nanomaterials and nanofabrication for various applications in photonics and nanoelectronics. His current research focus on materials includes graphene and other 2D materials, compound semiconductor nanowires and their heterostructures. The nanofabrication activities extend over many methods such as atomic layer deposition, chemical vapor deposition, metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy, electron beam lithography, self-assembly etc. Prof. Lipsanen has published over 350 peer-reviewed articles.

Prof. Ruggero M. Santilli obtained his Ph. D. in theoretical physics at the University of Torino, Italy in 1965; he then emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1967 where he was on the faculty of the University of Miami, Boston University, MIT, and Harvard University under financial support from NASA, UFOSR and DOE. In 1991 he accepted the position of President and Professor at the Institute for Basic Research in Florida. He is the author of 345 papers published in refereed journals and twenty post Ph. D. monographs in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology; he is the Editor of a number of scientific journals in mathematics and physics and was awarded twelve U. S. patents. He is internationally known for developing new mathematics (known as Lie-admissible, Lie-isotopic and isodual mathematics) for the construction of hadronic mechanics, chemistry and biology, and for the verification of the 1935 Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen argument that "quantum mechanics is not a complete theory." These discoveries lead to the prediction of new technologies, incompatible with quantum mechanics but fully compatible with hadronic mechanics, which he developed as Chief Scientist at various U. Dr. Jiangtao Cheng received his Ph.D. degree in Physics from Purdue University in 2002. He also has a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Purdue University and a B.S. degree in Applied Physics from Peking University. Prior to joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech in 2015 as Associate Professor, Dr. Cheng was a research associate at the Pennsylvania State University and a research scientist at Teledyne Scientific Company (formerly Rockwell Science Center). He has served as the principal investigator of several research projects funded by DOE, NASA, DARPA and NSF respectively. He has authored/co‐authored more than 70 papers in journals and proceedings of conferences. Dr. Cheng has been on the editorial boards of four international journals. He has won numerous awards during his career including five times of Best Paper/Best Poster Awards in various international conferences and 2013 Outstanding Overseas Young Scholar Award from China NSF. In 2010, Dr. Cheng’s project “Optofluidic Solar Concentrators” was announced by the U.S. Department of Energy as one of the “six transformational energy research and development projects that could revolutionize how the country uses, stores, and produces energy”. In 2019, Dr. Cheng was elected as Virginia Tech Engineering Faculty Fellow. He has extensive experience in renewable energy, optofluidics, thermal-fluid sciences, micro/nano-fluidics, multiphase fluid flow, nano-fabrications and CFD numerical simulation.

Professor Hong Seok Kang obtained his BSc (Chemistry) from Seoul National University, and his PhD (Physical Chemistry) from KAIST, South Korea. As a professor in Jeonju University in Korea, he has been extensively involved in research for designing and understanding electronic, optical, and chemical properties of various low dimensional nanomaterials using first-principles calculation. In collaboration with sophiscated experimental groups, his interest has been recently extended to the applications of those materials in secondary battery and photocatalytic/electrocatayltic CO2/H2O reduction. For his research, he was awarded three major prizes: (1) Ipjae Physical Chemistry Prize from the Division of Physical Chemistry, Korean Chemical Society (2009), Breakthrough Research Award for honoring Jeonju University (2017), and Excellent Research Award supported by Ministry of Education of Government of Korea (2018). Soon-Gil Yoon received his Ph.D. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea in 1988. He is a distinguished professor in Materials Science and Engineering, Chungnam National University, Korea since 1990. He published about 405 peer-reviewed papers since 1990. His representative papers are Nano Letters (2010), Advanced Materials (2011, 2012), Nano Energy (eight papers) for piezoelectric energy harvesting using organic/inorganic perovskite thin films, Advanced Science and Nano Today (2021) for high flexibility and high stretchability of the transfer-free, high-quality, large-area monolayer graphene grown at 100 oC. Associate Professor Alfred Tok has been a faculty member in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore since 2003. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and graduated with First Class Honours in 1995. He was also conferred the Dean’s Award for Excellence for being the top graduate. After graduation, he worked as a mechanical engineer at ST Aerospace Engineering, Singapore. In 1997, he was awarded 2 scholarships at Nanyang Technological University to pursue his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his MBA (Dean’s List) in 2009 from the Nanyang Business School. His research areas focus on the processing and applications of inorganic materials in the areas of smart materials, biosensors and renewable / sustainable energy. He also consults extensively for companies from various industries.

Dr. Dhiya Al-Jumeily is a professor of Artificial Intelligence and the president of eSystems Engineering Society. He has extensive research interests covering a wide variety of interdisciplinary perspectives concerning the theory and practice of Applied Artificial Intelligence in medicine, human biology, environment, intelligent community and health care. He has published well over 300 peer reviewed scientific international publications, 12 books and 14 book chapters, in multidisciplinary research areas including: Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Signal Prediction, Telecommunication Fraud Detection, AI-based clinical decision-making, medical knowledge engineering, Human-Machine Interaction, intelligent medical information systems, sensors and robotics, wearable and intelligent devices and instruments. But his current research passion is decision support systems for self-management of health and medicine. Dhiya has successfully supervised over 20 PhD students’ studies and has been an external examiner to various UK and overseas Universities for undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees. He has been actively involved as a member of editorial board and review committee for a number peer reviewed international journals, and is on program committee or as a general chair for a number of international conferences. Dhiya is also a successful entrepreneur. He is the head of enterprise for the faculty of Engineering and Technology. He has been awarded various commercial and research grants, nationally and internationally, over £5M from Overseas Research and Educational Partners, UK through British Council and directly from industry with portfolio of various Knowledge Transfer Programs between academia and Industry. Dhiya is the founder and general series chair of the IEEE International Conference on Developments in eSystems Engineering DeSE (dese.org.uk) since 2007. He has a large number of international contacts and leads or participates in several international committees in his research fields. Dhiya has one patent and coordinated over 10 projects at national and international level. Prof. Al-Jumeily is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Chartered IT Professional. He is also a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. Dr. Rami Ahmad El-Nabulsi holds a PhD in Particle Physics, Mathematical Physics and Modeling from Provence University (currently Aix-Marseille University), France and a diploma of advanced studies in Plasma Physics and Radiation Astrophysics from the same institution. He worked with different worldwide research departments in UK, South Korea, China, Greece, Thailand, India, etc. and he is currently affiliated to Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He is the author of more than 285 peer-reviewed papers in peer-refereed reputed journals and a reviewer for more than 100 scientific journals. His research ranges from applied mathematics to theoretical physics including nonlinear dynamical systems, space and astrophysics, general relativity and geometrical physics, Lie algebroids, physics and chemistry of solids, plasma MHD, neutronics and nuclear reactors, superconductivity and magnetic materials among others.

Stefan Vajda is currently the head of the recently established Department of Nanocatalysis of the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Science located in Prague. He is also the ERA Chair holder at the Institute. Stefan pioneered the studies of atomically precise size- and composition selected subnanometer size cluster-based catalyst under realistic reaction conditions of temperature and pressure in industrially relevant processes. Stefan received his Diploma (MSc) degree in Physical Chemistry and his PhD in Chemistry from Charles University in Prague, and habilitated from Experimental Physics at the Freie Universität Berlin. His awards include a Fulbright Fellowship spent at the University of Chicago. Before returning to Prague in 2019, Stefan was active at the Freie Universität Berlin and Argonne National Laboratory US. During his career, Stefan published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, has 7 issued US patents and presented over 80 invited talks at international conferences.

Dr. Jean-François PIERSON was born in 1971, he is full Professor at the University of Lorraine. He is currently the head of the department Chemistry and Physics of Solids and Surfaces (approx. 150 people) of the Institut Jean Lamour (UMR CNRS 7198). His research is dedicated to the elaboration by magnetron sputtering and the characterization of thin films (oxides, nitrides and metallic glasses) for energy, optical and electrical applications. He has published more than 150 papers in international journals and he is co-author of 6 international patents.

Evgeny Popov (1956) has obtained his PhD (1988) and ScD (1991) for the works on anomalies of diffraction gratings in the Institute of Solid State Physics (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia) where he worked as a researcher, assistant and full professor till 2000. Since then he is a full professor in Aix-Marseille University, Marseille, France, teaching physics and mathematical methods of physics at undergraduate and graduate level. His research in the Institute Fresnel covers different topics of electromagnetic optics, scientific optical instrumentation, and diffraction modelling using spectral methods such as Fourier modal method, differential and surface integral methods, coordinate transformation, and modal method. Evgeny Popov is a senior member of Institut Universitaire de France and Fellow of Optical Society of America.

Dr. Leo H. Koole is a professor of Biomedical Engineering/Biomaterials Science and currently associated with Wenzhou Medical University (Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China). His research in concentrated on new methodologies for controlled and sustained delivery of drugs to the eye, particularly to the tear film (corneal surface), and to posterior parts of the eye. Research activities comprise experimental work ranging from chemical synthesis of novel biomaterials (especially nano and microparticles), assessment of biocompatibility and safety in vitro and in vivo, preclinical experiments with representative animal models for human ocular diseases, clinical experiments. Prof. Koole’s research group consists of several staff members and 8-10 MSc and PhD students. He is the author/co-author of 180-190 peer-reviewed scientific publications and approximately 15 patents.

Chung-Li Dong received his Ph.D. in Physics from Tamkang University in 2004. He conducted the postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA during 2005-2009. In 2009-2015, he was an assistant scientist at the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center. He is currently a professor at Research Center for X-ray Science & Department of Physics, Tamkang University, Taiwan. His research focuses on the synchrotron-based and in situ/operando spectroscopic studies of atomic and electronic structures of advanced nanostructured and energy materials.

Dr. Lixin Xiao is a full professor at Department of Physics, Peking University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He received his PhD from The University of Tokyo in 2000. He has been working on OLED and solar cell.

Prof. Fu received the PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2009. He is currently a professor in the School of Physics at Peking University. His research is interested in the ion solid interactions, ion beam analysis and modification of materials and plasma facing materials in fusion system.

Dr. Luis E Sansores is a full time researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Materiales of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He got his Dr. Degree at Materials Science graduate program of UNAM in 1972. Dr. Sansores has been involved in the study of the electronic structure of materials using Quantum Chemistry codes. His recent work, has been on theoretical studies of carbon allotropes such as graphene, graphyne, fullerenes and quasi-fullerenes. Dr. Sansores has been the Director of the Instituto de Investigacionesen Materiales and is presently the Coordinator of the Materials Science and Engineering graduate program, both at the UNAM.

Dr. Lukas W. Snyman received the B.Sc., B.Sc Hons., M.Sc. and PhD degrees, in South Africa. He is currently Research and Innovation Professor at the NanoWs Institute at the University of South Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has to date published 120 research outputs in international conference proceedings and journal articles in the field of silicon photonics and CMOS Optoelectronics. He is author and co-author of two scholarly book chapters on Integrating Micro-Photonic Systems and MOEMS into Standard Silicon CMOS Integrated Circuitry. He is currently the main inventor and co-inventor of eight granted U.S.A patents, two European Patents, two Korean patents, one Chinese patent, and eleven granted SA patents.

Prof. Ivan Chodak is a senior scientist, former head(1982 – 2009) of Department of Composite Materials in Polymer Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava. He is the author and coauthor of over 170 scientific papers, H-index = 33. His scientific interests are aimed to multiphase polymeric systems, mainly to electroconductive composites with polymeric matrices, polymer nanocomposites and biodegradable polymer blends. In the latter topic, besides number of publications as well as several patents (one being commercialized in Slovakia), he participated for 12 years as a member of the expert group in workshops organized by ICS UNIDO Trieste on biodegradable plastics all over the world (2-4 workshops each year in e.g. Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Qatar, Bahrain, Uganda, Korea, UAE, Serbia, Poland, Slovakia, etc.). Recently his activities are also aimed to development and application of biomaterials based on thermoplastic starch as major component of the polymeric systems. In the period 2005 - 2009 he served as a member of Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (elected position), for almost 20 years he lectured Polymer Physics as external teacher at two universities, namely Slovak Technical University and Trencin University of Alexander Dubcek. From 2012 he is the elected member of the Slovak Learned Society.

Dr. Dmitri V. Lioubtchenko was born Gorky, Russia, in May 1971. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics and mathematics from the Department of Physical and Quantum Electronics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, Russia, in 1993, 1994, and 1998, respectively. From 1994 to 1997, he was a Researcher in the Institute of Radio-engineering and Electronics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. From 1997 to 1998 he was a visiting post doctoral researcher at The University of Liverpool, Liverpool, U.K. In 1998, he joined the Radio Laboratory of Helsinki University of Technology, now Aalto University, Finland, where he was a Docent from 2005 and from 2008 till 2013 he was Finnish Academy Research Fellow. In 2017 received a Docentship at the Department of Micro and Nano Science, KTH, Sweden. From 2019 he is Full Professor in the Institute of High-Pressure Physics, Polish Academy of Science. He was a visiting researcher at The University of Liverpool, Liverpool, U.K. (1997-1998, 2003), Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland (2001), Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden (MC2 access program for use of clean room, supported by EU, 2008), Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (COST VISTA program, 2014). He is a member of the EuMA General Assembly (GA) January 2016 – December 2018. Dr. Lioubtchenko has more than 25-year experience in electrical engineering especially in the development of new materials for millimeter, microwave, and optoelectronic applications particularly, on the development of active and passive dielectric waveguides and components for the frequency above 100 GHz. He has published more than 120 papers in refereed books, journals and conferences. He is also an author of two monographs on millimetre wave components and on dielectric rod waveguides and resonators.

Viktor Sverdlov received his Master of Science and PhD degrees in physics from the State University of St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1985 and 1989, respectively. From 1989 to 1999 he worked as a staff research scientist at the V.A. Fock Institute of Physics, St. Petersburg State University. During this time, he visited ICTP (Italy, 1993), the University of Geneva (Switzerland, 1993-1994), the University of Oulu (Finland, 1995), the Helsinki University of Technology (Finland, 1996, 1998), the Free University of Berlin (Germany, 1997), and NORDITA (Denmark, 1998). In 1999, he became a staff research scientist at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He joined the Institute for Microelectronics, Technische Universität Wien, in 2004 and he is currently on a tenure-track position. His scientific interests include device simulations, computational physics, solid-state physics, and nanoelectronics.

Prof. Dr. Huanli Dong is a professor of Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She received her Ph.D. degree from the institute in 2009 after she got her M.S. degree from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Material, CAS, in 2006. Her current research focuses on organic semiconductor crystals including organic small molecules and conjugated polymers by material science and growth technology and their applications in OFETs, integrated optoelectronic devices, and circuits.

Prof. Chen is a full professor in School of Electronics, Peking University. She received PhD degree in Department of Materials Physics, University of Science and Technology Beijing in 1994. She was a visiting student in Department of Materials Science, Cambridge University from 1991-1993. She was a COE research fellow in Institute of Metal Materials, Japan in 1997-1998 and a postdoc in Department of Physics, Arizona State University in 1998-2000. She has published more than 210 journal papers with more than 12,000 other citations. Her current research interests include developing novel nanodevices based on 2D materials and III-V nanowires, and characterizing nanostructures by in situ TEM and in situ SEM.

Dr. Alexander Axelevitch has completed his PhD at 2002 in physical electronics from Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel. Since 1995, he has been with Holon Institute of Technology (HIT). He is currently leading the Nanotechnology and Microelectronics Branch of the Engineering Faculty, the Laboratory of Microelectronics and Thin Films and works as the Senior Lecturer in faculty of Engineering in HIT. His main research interest includes thin films deposition methods, semiconductor thin films, transition metal oxides, alternative energy sources, solar cells, plasmonic effects. Dr. Axelevitch has 8 patents, 2 published books, more 70 referred articles and more 150 papers presented on scientific meetings. Also Dr. Axelevitch is the recognized Expert Evaluator for evaluations of projects submitted to the Program Horizon 2020.

Yael Diskin-Posner did her MSc. degree with Prof. Uri Shmueli from the Tel-Aviv University. After a few years in the biotechnology industry, she returned to do a Ph.D. in crystallography at the Tel-Aviv University with Prof. Israel Goldberg, which she finished in 2003. She carried out her postdoctoral studies at the Weizmann Institute under the supervision of Prof. Zippora Shakked, working on p53-DNA binding domain structures. Since 2007 she is an associate staff scientist in the Chemical Research Support Department in the Weizmann Institute of Science. She received the Levine-Jortner prize from the Israel Chemical Society in 2002. Yael has published (co/published) over 120 papers in peer reviewed journals. Yael specializes in structure determination of small molecules by X-ray diffraction from single crystals. Her research is carried in the fields of supramolecular chemistry, catalysis materials chemistry and porphyrin structures.

Dr. Ilya Goykhman is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Head of Laboratory for Nanoscale and Quantum Optoelectronics at Technion. Prior to joining Technion, Dr Goykhman was a Senior Research Associate at the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC) and a Lecturer at the Centre for Doctoral Training at the University of Cambridge. He is a task leader on Broadband PDs in the optoelectronics work package in the EU Graphene flagship project. His main research interests span the integrated 2D optoelectronics, device physics, technology development of graphene and 2D materials, 2D/3D hybrid systems for applications in communication, light generation, quantum optics and sensing.

Dr. Samantha Meenach is currently an associate professor at the University of Rhode Island with joint appointments in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is originally from Kentucky and obtained her degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Meenach was a NIH NCI Cancer Nanotechnology Postdoctoral Trainee, where her research focused on the development of aerosol nanotherapeutics for the treatment of lung cancer. The work of the Meenach group has focused on the development of aerosol therapeutics for the treatment of pulmonary diseases and nanoparticles capable of penetrating physiological barriers. Outside of academics, Samantha is an avid reader and loves playing games, traveling, kayaking, and yoga.

Dr. Larysa Baraban completed her PhD in the University of Konstanz, Germany in 2008 in the Department of Physics. After a staying as a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, France, she moved to TU Dresden, Germany, where she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow from 2011 until 2013. She is currently a group leader of 'Nano-Microsystems for life sciences' group at Helmholtz Center Dresden Rossendorf. Dr. Baraban’s research revolves around the use of nanomaterials based biosensors and systems, flexible sensors for point-of-care diagnostics, micro-fluidics for high throughput biochemical analysis, artificial nano- and micro-machines and magnetic soft matter.

Dr. Anthony Papathanassiou is an Assistant Professor of Experimental Solid State Physics (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Greece). He got his BSc in Physics from NKUA, MSc in Condensed Matter and Materials Science fron Demokritos National Centre for Scientific Research and PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from NKUA. He worked as Research Associate at various National and European projects in NKUA and Universitat Bayreuth, as research staff in NKUA and Research Scholar at Harvard University. Since 2013, as an academic member in NKUA, he is directing the Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy and High Pressure Laboratory. His research focuses on both fundamental condensed matter physics and innovative materials science, related to non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, relaxation and phase transitions, especially, at extreme states.

Henrique Faneca obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry in 2005 at University of Coimbra. He is Principal Investigator, at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), University of Coimbra, since November 2016, leading the research group: Nano-systems and targeted antitumor strategies. The activity of his research group is focused on the development and characterization of Nano-systems that allow an efficient and specific delivery of therapeutic agents into target cells, and on the generation of new multitarget antitumor strategies, such as those involving the combination of gene therapy and chemotherapy.

Ana Ribeiro is involved in biomaterials research, focusing her activity on the degradation of Ti used in osseo-integrated implants since 2004. Fascinated with biomimetics, she decided to develop her PhD on dynamic extracellular matrices involved in tissue regeneration. All the physicochemical and biological knowledge that underpins the design of new biomimetic materials was accomplished during her PhD developed at INEB and L'Università degli Studi di Milano. Her merit was recognized by the International Daniel Jouvance Scientific Award for Young Researchers, the European Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Doctoral Award and Pulido Valente Ciência (distinguish the best article on biomedical sciences). As she was keen on applying her knowledge in clinical applications, Ana decided to do a Postdoc at a dentistry university in Brazil, focusing on the cytocompatibility of multifunctional surfaces for implants. The potential hazard of nano-biomaterials to human health was the main concern of the candidate when she started a research position at the National Institute of Metrology Quality and Technology. With her career goals in mind, she created a multidisciplinary team and gained external competitive funding, coordinating projects in the field of bone and skin nanotoxicology. In 2018, she returns to Portugal, and she is actually a staff researcher of the Nano-safety Research Group, working on the development of 3D cell culture models and organ on-chip systems for the safety assessment of nanomaterials. Her research is also focused on the influence of nanomaterials on cell communication and possible systemic consequences to humans.

Dr. Jan M. Macak is a Senior Researcher and a group leader at the Center of Materials and Nanotechnologies of the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic and at the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) in Brno, Czech Republic, as the leader of the research group Advanced Low-Dimensional Nanomaterials. He got his Ph.D. in 2008 at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, under supervision of Prof. Patrik Schmuki. He was R&D group leader at Elmarco Ltd (2008-2010), private enterprise developing and delivering technology for synthesis of nanofibers by electrospinning. He received several prestigious awards, including Neuron Award 2015 for outstanding achievements of young scientist in the field of chemistry. Between 2015-2020 he has been principal investigator of prestigious ERC Starting grant “Chromtisol” devoted to development of new type of solar cells based on nanotubular titania. His research is focused on the synthesis of new low-dimensional structures such as nanotubes, nanolayers, nanofibers, in various ways. Research of the group also includes the necessary investigation of the relationship between the structure and the properties of these materials. The most promising materials have been explored in various areas such as photovoltaics, catalysis, batteries, etc.

Rostislav Slobodian is a Ph.D. student at the Tomas Bata University in Zlín at Centre of Polymer Systems. He received M.Sc. and graduated from a study program Chemistry and materials technology - Polymer engineering in Faculty of Technology, TBU Zlín. He holds the award director of the Polymer Centre, TBU Zlín for a master thesis. He cooperates with the research group: Nanomaterials and Advanced Technologies, specializing in Systems with sensorics properties and their applications, at Centre of Polymer Systems, TBU as a junior researcher. His main interests are properties of nanofillers, namely carbon nanotubes / graphene / superconductive carbon black, polymer composite materials and their use as organic vapor sensors. Their utilization is also flexible and stretchable strain sensors, as well as pressure sensors. His field of activity is also plastic and rubber processing for customer products where he has experience with R.& D., start-up projects and direct cooperation with companies.

Jana Bacova has received her BSc and MSc degrees in Analysis of Biological Materials from University of Pardubice (Czech Republic) and currently studying as a PhD student at the University of Pardubice, Faculty of Chemical Technology, in the study program Analytical chemistry and biochemistry. Her research interest includes testing of the toxicity of nanomaterials in vitro. She has been focusing on the evaluation of biological and toxic effects of unique nanomaterials and commercial nanoparticles on cells using different methods. She has been interested in research of the effect of titanium surfaces on cell adhesion, growth, and proliferation using microscopic methods and the potential application of nanomaterials in various industries.

Veronika Lacmanova is studying for a Ph.D. in the field of Drugs and biomaterials at UCT Prague. She has been interested in nanomaterial engineering since undergraduate studies, profiling her expertise with techniques for determining surface properties such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, gravimetry, goniometry and other analytical methods. Her work focuses mainly in surface modifications using grafting and cathode sputtering techniques into plasma-activated solid substrates with a variety of applications from biocompatible nanostructured implants to antibacterial nanomaterials (based on Cu oxides). Her expertise later expanded into biological studies, while solving problematics regarding bio-nano interface between metal nanostructures and various human, bacterial and fungal cells. Her research is currently being fulfilled within the Department of Solid State Engineering in UCT Prague.

Hoang Yen Nguyenova was born in the Czech Republic. She obtained her Master’s degree in Drug Production at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. She is currently proceeding her Ph.D. studies in Drugs and Biomaterials. Her research interest covers noble metal nanoparticles and their potential application in medicine, polymer materials and polymer composites.

Thomas Schneiders is a project manager and PhD student at the Institut fuer Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University in Aachen, Germany. He has a Master’s degree in Polymer and Textile Technology from the RWTH Aachen University as well and has 5 years of expertise in electrospinning and development of medical textiles and products. His research focus is in machinery, process and product development for electrospinning and the production of polymeric nanofibers. Especially for Tissue Engineering applications and stent coatings.

Yutaka Fukuchi was born in Tochigi, Japan, on April 29, 1975. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Tokyo University of Science, Chiba, Japan, in 1998 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2003. In 2003, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Science, Tokyo, Japan as an Assistant Professor. From 2003 to 2005, he was also a Co-operative Research Fellow in Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. Then, he became a Junior Associate Professor of Tokyo University of Science in 2006. Since 2009, he has been an Associate Professor at this university. From 2013 to 2014, he was a Visiting Research Fellow with the High-Speed Optical Communications Group, Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark. He has published over 150 papers in major international journals and conferences. His research interests are optical communications, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, and their applications. Dr. Fukuchi is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Optical Society of America (OSA), and the Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers (IEICE).

Dr. Jolanta Pulit-Prociak received her MSc degree in Light organic technology from Cracow University of Technology (Poland) and also PhD degree in Chemical Technology from the same University. Currently, she works as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the Cracow University of Technology. Her research of specialization includesdevelopment of new, pro-ecological methods of obtaining metallic and metal oxides nanoparticles,and checking the possibility of their use in consumer products, with consideration of their impact on the natural environment. She is a co-author of over 50 publications in a number of scientific journals. She has been leading scientific project on development of nontoxic nanometric drug carriers.

Brigitte Vigolo received her Ph.D. in University of Bordeaux in 2002 under the mentorship of Dr. Ph. Poulin and Prof. C. Coulon. Her doctoral thesis developed new nanostructured materials from assembling carbon nanotubes in macroscopic fibers. This work was awarded the Prize ‘La Recherche’ in 2004 for the breakthrough of both the proposed assembling process and the performances of the new materials developed. In 2002-2003, Dr. Brigitte Vigolo completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Complex Fluids Laboratory (a combined Rhodia-CNRS research laboratory), in Cranbury (USA) on nanostructured complex colloids from block-copolymer and multi-charged ions. For her second one-year postdoctoral fellow (2003-2004), she worked on CVD synthesis of carbon nanotubes for Field Emission Display in collaboration with the Thales Group company. Brigitte Vigolo is a CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research in France) researcher in the Institute Jean Lamour since 2004. Her research activities are dedicated to surface modifications of carbon nanotubes and graphene since more than 15 years for the purpose of overcoming processing issues of these carbon nanomaterials for their application in environment and sustainable technology.

Eugene Kogan currently works at the Department of Physics, Bar Ilan University. Eugene does research in Condensed Matter Physics. His current project is 'Kondo effect.'

Prof. Ariel Ismach holds a BEng in Materials Engineering from Ben Gurion University of the Negev, and an MA and PhD in Materials and Interfaces from the Faculty of Chemistry, Weizmann Institute. He was awarded a prize from the Israel Chemistry Society for his doctoral thesis. In 2009 he moved to Berkeley for a post-doctoral position at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California–Berkeley and the Materials Science Division of the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. In 2011 he joined the group of Prof. Ruoff in the department of Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Texas in Austin, where he led a small group of Ph.D. students and postdocs researching the growth and characterization of various 2D materials. He joined the Materials Science and Engineering department at Tel Aviv University in October 2014 where he had established a laboratory dedicated to study the growth and properties of 2D atomic-crystals. His group is working to address basic scientific questions regarding the formation and the structure-property relationship of 2D materials as well as developing new methodologies to engineer such layered materials and their heterostructures for applications in electronics, optoelectronics, catalysis and energy storage.

Dr. Yuri Gorodetski is a Head of the Nanooptics group. He obtained his B.Sc, 2003 and M.Sc degree, 2006 in Mechanical Engineering, in the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa). During his Ph.D in Nanooptics Laboratory there he was awarded for Levi Eshkol and Russel Berry scolarships. His dissertation was focused on the experimental investigation of geometric phases in plasmonic 2D meta-structures. In 2010 he joined Laboratoire de Nanostructures, Université de Strasbourg as Post-Doctoral fellow. There he studied plasmonic interactions with chiral metamaterials and developed time-resolved plasmonic leakage microscopy. He took his current position in 2014 in the Faculty of Engineering in Ariel University where he established the Ariel Nanooptics Laboratory. He holds the Assistant Professor appointment in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments.

Prof. Abu-Reziq completed his doctorate at the Hebrew University in catalysis and sol-gel chemistry. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 2004, he moved to Ottawa University, Canada, to do his postdoctoral research in the field of nanocatalysis. In 2006, he joined the company Sol-Gel Technologies as Senior Researcher and spent two years in developing micro and nano-encapsulation systems based on sol-gel process as drug delivery systems. In 2008, He was appointed as Senior Lecturer at Casali Center for Applied Chemistry and Institute of Chemistry and on 2015 he was promoted to Associate Professor. His research focuses on nanocatalysis, magnetic materials, green chemistry and developing micro and nanoencapsulation methods.

Dr. Lilac Amirav is an expert in the use of semiconductor nanocrystals and hybrid structures for renewable energy generation, in particular photocatalytic solar-to-fuel conversion. She has demonstrated success in designing sophisticated heterostructures for the water reduction half reaction. Amirav received a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) from Tel Aviv University at the age of 18. She received numerous awards for her PhD dissertation from Technion, and the prestigious Rothschild and ‘Sara Lee Schupf’ postdoctoral fellowships. After her postdoctoral research with Paul Alivisatos at the University of California, Berkeley, Amirav joined the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where she is now an Associate Professor. Amirav is passionate about addressing scientific questions of fundamental importance and global impact. She is particularly interested in photocatalysis on the nano scale and related photophysical and photochemical phenomena.

Professor Eugene Stephane Mananga is a Doctoral Faculty in the Ph.D. Programs in Physics & Chemistry at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York (CUNY). He is the Grants Program Director for STEM and a member in the Executive Board and Board of Directors-at-Large of the CUNY ACADEMY for the Humanities and Sciences, which he has recently served as Deputy Executive Director. Eugene is an Adjunct Professor of Applied Physics at New York University and an Assistant Professor of Physics and Nuclear Medicine at BCC of CUNY. During the years 2021, 2020 and 2019, Eugene was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy in the Faculty Program (VFP) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and at Argonne National Laboratory to work on problems related to the energy storage and technology. Professor Mananga completed his Ph. D in Physics (with Distinguished Professor Steven Greenbaum) from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and holds 6 additional graduate degrees and training from various institutions including Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), assachussetts Institute of Technology (MITx), and City College of New York. Eugene did his postdoctoral studies in the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory of USA, Harvard Medical School, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to joining Harvard-MGH, Dr. Mananga was an “Ingenieur de Recherche” in the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (“Commissariat a l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives de France”, CEA-SACLAY, NEUROSPIN). During his tenure with CEA-SACLAY, Dr. Mananga worked in collaboration with Dr. Thibault Charpentier to introduce the Floquet-Magnus expansion in the field of Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. This important work contributes to advance the understanding of spin dynamics in nuclear magnetic resonance, quantum physics, and beyond. Eugene has published more than 70 peer review scientific articles (mainly as first and corresponding author) including prestigious and major scientific journals such as Physics Reports, Royal Society of Chemistry, the Journal of Chemical Physics, etc... Eugene is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Molecular Physics and he has served as editorial board member for more than 40 international scientific journals including the journal Heliyon: Cell Press and the journal of atomic and nuclear physics. Dr. Mananga scientific contribution in the field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance was honored during the 70th anniversary (1946 - 2016) of the Russian Academic of Sciences. Professor Mananga had received several awards including the 2017 Henry Wasser Award in Physics from the CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences in recognition of “Outstanding Scholarship and Academic Performance” and the 2018 Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Chemical Society New York Section for “Contributions and Advanced Studies in the Theory of Spin Dynamics in Solid-State Nuclear magnetic Resonance and Quantum Mechanics.” From 2018 to 2023, Dr. Mananga serves as a Faculty Mentor in physics on the National Science Foundation SSTEM scholarship $5 millions scholarship grant on “Developing a Growth Mindset Model to Build Resiliency in Underrepresented STEM Students.” Professor Mananga’ s research and service efforts have been recognized by the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from VDGOOD Professional Association in India in Recognition of International Scientists in Engineering, Science and Medicine.

Dr. Ying-Lung Daniel Ho received his B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Taipei University of Technology in Taiwan and the Ph.D. degree in Quantum Photonics from the University of Bristol in the UK. His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Prof. John Rarity, FRS, investigated the method of designing efficient single-photon sources for quantum information applications. Subsequently, he was employed as a Postdoctoral Researcher and then a Research Fellow there. His work as a Research Fellow (Researcher Co-Investigator and Co-Investigator) under the EPSRC Programme Grants (EP/M009033/1 and EP/P034446/1) has led research in direct laser writing using two-photon polymerization in the Quantum Engineering Technology Labs. Currently, he is also a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Bristol. In September 2019, he started a position as a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Fellow in Physics and Electrical Engineering, after a career in Quantum Photonics research at the University of Bristol. Recently, he has received an EPSRC grant (EP/V040030/1) to develop and conduct Nanophotonics research, which focuses on a comprehensive investigation into the fundamentals and applications of 3D nanophotonics in artificially structured materials. The project is in collaboration with research partners (QET Labs, University of Bristol and ORC, University of Southampton) and industrial partner (Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology) to develop novel sensors, biomimetic structures, nano-lasers, and ultrafast optical switches and devices for quantum technology.

Dr. Hoshang Kolivand is Assistant Professor in Computer Graphics. He received his MS degree in applied mathematics and computer from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran, in 1999, and his PhD from Media and Games Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGIC-X) in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2013. He has completed a Post-Doctoral in Augmented Reality in UTM. Previously he worked as a lecturer in Shahid Beheshti University, Iran and then as a Senior Lecturer in UTM. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer in Liverpool John Moores University. He has published numerous articles in international journals, conference proceedings and technical papers, including chapters in books. He is an active member of many international conferences and journals. He has also published many books in object-oriented programming and mathematics. His research interests include Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Dr. Cuifeng Ying is a senior lecturer at the Department of Engineering at the School of Science and Technology https://www.ntu.ac.uk/staff-profiles/science-technology/cuifeng-ying. Cuifeng has been working on designing and applying engineered nanoscale structures for bio-sensing applications. Specifically, her research focuses on using plasmonic/dielectric nanostructures and nanopore technology for DNA sensing and protein characterization at a single-molecule level. She has authored/co-authored 28 peer-reviewed journal papers with a total citation of 878 and an h-index of 13. She has been the first to observe single enzyme conformational dynamic for hours without labelling. She serves as a Co-guest Editor for the journal nanomaterials and a regular reviewer for several journals of the American Chemical Society (ACS) such as ACS sensors, ACS applied nanomaterials.

Ankit Bhardwaj is a final year PhD student at Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester. He has worked as Research Engineer at IMRE, A*STAR, Singapore for 1.5 years in polymer composite department after completing his master’s degree in Nanotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. He did his Bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, India. His research interest includes nanofabrication, 2D materials, angstrom scale 2D capillaries, ion transport and polymer composites.

Dr. Knaupp conducted a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology, which she completed in 2012. In 2013, she joined the laboratory of Prof Polo at Monash University, Australia, to apply her protein biochemical knowledge to the cellular reprogramming field. Her research interests focus on understanding the epigenetic mechanisms that control cellular identity, in particular, transcription factor modes of action and the composition of regulatory complexes at single locus resolution. Dr Knaupphas published in top-ranking journals and has received funding from several sources includingMonash University, theAustralian Research Council (ARC) and the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

Bohdan Padlyak during 1973 – 1978 was studied in the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Physical Faculty (Specialities: Physics and Physics of Semiconductors). In the period of 1979 – 1999 he worked in the Physical Faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in positions: engineer, junior scientific researcher, scientific researcher, senior scientific researcher. In 1989, he defended of PhD thesis entitled “Paramagnetic Centres and Isomorphism Peculiarities of the Impurity 3dn -Ions in Calcium-Gallium-Germanium Garnet (CGGG) Crystals” (Speciality: Solid State Physics). During 1999 – 2001, he worked in position Associated Professor in the Institute of Experimental Physics of the Gdansk University (Poland) and during 2001 – 2007 – in the Chair of Physics of the Bydgoszcz University (Poland). In 2007, he defended of doctor’s (habilitation) dissertation entitled “Spectroscopy and Structure of the Luminescence Centres and Radiation-Induced Defects in the Glasses of СaO-Ga2O3-GeO2 System” (Speciality: Optics and Laser Physics). Since 2008 up to now, he work in the Vlokh Institute of Physical Optics of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Lviv, Ukraine) in positions: Head of Spectroscopy Group and Leading Scientific Researcher. Since 2008 up to now, he also work in the Institute of Physics of the Zielona Góra University (Poland) in positions Professor and Head of Division of Spectroscopy of Functional Materials. His scientific interests include physics of paramagnetic and luminescence centres in solids, in particular electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and optical spectroscopy of the transition and rare-earth impurity ions as well as intrinsic and radiation-induced defects in oxide compounds with ordered (crystals, crystalline nanoparticles) and disordered (glasses, compositionally-disordered crystals, solid crystalline solutions, nanocomposite materials) structure. Author and co-author more than 110 articles, published in international journals (h-index: 19 in Scopus and WoS). Participant of about 100 International conferences, symposia and workshops. Dr. Leelakrishna Reddy has obtained my PhD degree in the area of condensed matter physics from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. His current research is in the area of luminescence of phosphor materials. He has developed a laboratory to undertake such research endeavors. He has supervised a number of MSc and PhD students and have published more than 50 papers in the field of condensed matter or in scholarship of teaching and learning. He currently have more than 5 postgraduate students doing either their MSc or PhD degrees.

Dr. Gabriel Armencea (DMD, DDS, PhD) is a senior lecturer in the department of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, Implantology, Oral and Emergency Rehabilitation in Dentistry, “Iuliu-Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is passionate about his work as a surgeon, assistant professor, scientist, having a multiple professional background: he is a consultant surgeon specialised in Oral and Maxilo facial surgery and implantology, with over 15 years of experience; he is an author and coauthor of many research papers with huge impact and great results. He is a mentor for many young aspiring surgeons. His research focuses on Biomaterials used in reconstruction of cranio-maxillofacial bone defects.

Dr. Andreea Campu is currently Postdoctoral fellow at the Nanobiophotonics and Laser Microscopy Center (NLMC, https://nanobiophotonics.ro/), Interdisciplinary Research Institute in Bio-Nano-Sciences, Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she received her MSc in Biomaterials and was granted “Summa Cum Laude” her PhD in Physics (late 2020).Her expertise includes plasmonic biosensor’ fabrication techniques and analysis methods as well as development of theragnostic agents. She was able to successfully integrate the plasmonic element into elaborate nano-sensor configurations leading to innovative and versatile biosensing nanochips with greatly improved biosensing sensitivity and accuracy. She is the recipient of various national and international awards such asProcter&Gamble Award: Best Poster Among Women in Science (2017), Gold Medal at EUROINVENT2021 and Excellence Diploma by the National Institute for Research, Development, Urban Planning and Sustainable Territorial Development “URBAN-INCERC”, Romania (2021) and Danubius Young Scientist Award (2021).

Dr. Bachhuka holds a PhD in Material science and Engineering from University of South Australia (2016). His postdoctoral work at ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale Bio Photonics (CNBP) at University of Adelaide (Australia), was focused on fabricating micro-structured optical fiber based chemical sensors and biosensors. In 2020, he started working as a Research Fellow at University of South Australia. His interdisciplinary research projects investigated nanoengineered surfaces for several applications, ranging from medical implants to biosensors and chemical sensors. As an emerging research leader, he has published more than 40 research papers and book chapters. In 2021, he won the "Juan de la Cierva incorporation" fellowship and was ranked among the top 6 researchers in Materials Science and Engineering in Spain. In his current role as Juan de la Cierva fellow at Rovira i Virgili University, Spain, he is building his research group in surfaces and interfaces for applications ranging from medical implants to biosensors and chemical sensors.

Dr. Zhifu Liang is currently working in Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) in Spain, he received his Bachelor in Harbin Institute of Technology (2013) in China, and master degree coordination Chemistry in TohokuUniversity (2016) and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) in 2022 in Spain. He has published over 10 papers. His current research interest is related to the developing of novel low dimensional, porous, semicondutive and covalent metal organic framework (C-MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) based atomically dispersed metal atom catalyst and its relationship between molecular level microstrcuture and perforamnce in energy conversion and storage.

Dr. Shin received MS and PhD degree in materials science and engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in 2014 where he studied the hetero-epitaxial growth on Si(001) using CVD. Afterwards, he joined 2D Materials team in Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) for the graphene growth. His current researches are focused on the direct growth of graphene layers on both catalyst and non-catalyst substrates using PECVD and their applications.

Dr. Sedong Kim is a senior researcher in German Research and Development Center LSTME Busan. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the Gyeongsang Nat. Univ. He got a project from National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) for his research. His research interests include thermal and fluid mechanics of nanoparticles and nanofluid.

Dr. Sethupathi Velmurugan pursued his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in chemistry at Madurai Kamaraj University, India. He received a Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. Currently, he works as a postdoctoral research fellow at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. His research expertise is hetero-structure materials analysis, photocatalytic carbon dioxide conversion, electrochemical and photo-electrochemical sensors. He published 13 research articles in high-impact international journals and working on many projects right now.

Ana G. Rodríguez-Hernández has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Medical Science and Ph.D. in Science Materials specializing in nano and biomaterials-cell interaction. Currently, she is working as Catedra CONACyT Researcher at the Department of Bionanotechnology at the Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology-UNAM in Ensenada B.C., México. She has a wide experience and strong experimental background in studying the relationship between nano-biomaterials physicochemical properties and their effect on cell-surface interaction. Her work has recently focused on the toxicological evaluation of nanomaterials and leads the research on “Toxicity of Nanoplastics in in vitro and ex vivo models”.

Professor Rangel studied Physics at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Iztapalapa, in Mexico City. He later received an M.Sc. degree in Physics also at UAM-Iztapalapa. He then moved to Scotlandwhere he studied for an M.Sc. Optoelectronics and Laser Devices, a joint program between Heriot-Watt, and St. Andrews Universities. Later, he received a Ph.D. from Heriot-Watt University. Upon finishing the Ph.D., he returned to México to join the Department of Optics at Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), in Ensenada, Baja California México as a Research Fellow, where he is now a Senior Scientist. His research interests are centered in the study of the nonlinear optical properties of materials, and their possible use in all-optical signal processing devices, and in the generation of photon pairs with tailored entanglement properties, of interest for quantum information processing systems. These studies have included different kinds of materials: organic molecules, amorphous semiconductors, and more recently nanostructured materials. His work has also included the development of passive and active waveguides, as well as the study of propagation and emission effects in these systems. It also includes the development of ultra-short pulse amplifiers. His academic productivity includes the publication of more than 80 refereed papers, several conference proceedings, 7 book chapters, and edited one book, all of which have received close to1200 citations in the literature. He has graduated 1 B.Sc., 13 M.Sc., and 6 Ph.D. students, and has been the principal investigator in several projects financed through CONACYT-México grants. He has been a Researcher for more than 20 years at CICESE, spent almost two-years as a postdoctoral visitor in the National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research, in Tsukuba Japan, and has made short research stays at Heriot-Watt University, U. de Santiago de Compostela, Spain, University of California Davis, in the USA and in the University of Padova, Italy. He has imparted several invited talks at International meetings, Research Centers, and in didactical events such as Summer Schools. He is a Senior Member of the Optical Society of America. He has been part of different organizing committees for Mexican and international meetings, has been part of editorial committees for various academic journals, and has participated in different evaluation committees for CONACYT-México, and for grant proposals from Argentina and Austria.He was Vice-president (2011-2012) and President (2013-2014) of the Academia Mexicana de Óptica. He was Head of the Department of Optics of CICESE for one year (2009), and Director of the Applied Physics Division also at CICESE (2010-2015).

Dr. Mónica Trejo Durán works at the Guanajuato University since 1998. She is Head Professor with a PRODEP y SNI I profile, with secondment to the Multidisciplinary Studies Department of the Engineering Division of the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus at the Guanajuato University. She performed a doctorate at the Research Materials Institute of UNAM (June 2005) where she specialized in electronic Materials and Characterization by diverse techniques. Her current research lines are Optoelectronic Materials (synthesis and characterization), nonlinear optics, Optic Fiber Sensors, and fruits characterization optics. She currently works in the study and characterization of nonlinear optic properties in a theoretical way and experimental in iconic liquids, eutectic and nanoparticles. She has  22 articles in national refereed journals, 38 publications in indexed journals and more than 67papers, a book chapter, as well as director of bachelor, masters and doctorate thesis. Gabriela Flores Rangel has graduated from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi in Mexico, where she studied engineering physics (specializing in optics area) from 2011 to 2015, then she studied the master's degree in applied sciences with emphasis in photonics (2015-2017) and PhD in applied sciences in which she is about to defend her thesis specializes in solid state physics specifically in the optical characterization of low dimensional materials (graphene, graphene nanoribbons). Since her undergraduate studies have been convinced that both basic and applied sciences are of paramount importance for technological advances. In particular her personal interests are the photonic probes to study the optical properties for a number of materials systems, like semiconductors, metals and polymers. Also, the extension of such studies to industrial environments is one of my principal goals. Moreover, the development of scientific instrumentation and the corresponding control software represent a strong motivation to pursue.

Wiktoria Matyjasik received her BSc and MSc degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology from Cracow University of Technology (Poland) in and currently studying as a PhD student of Chemical Engineering in the same University. Her research interests include bionanotechnology, green synthesis of nanoparticles, and potential application of nanomaterials in medicine, diagnostics, and environmental analytics.

Elad Arad is currently employed as a Ph.D. fellow at the Ilse Katz Institute (IKI) for Nanoscale Science and Technology and in the Department of Chemistry at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva, Israel. His general research interest is in soft-matter self-assembly, specifically the peptide and protein assembly and aggregation related to neurodegenerative disease. Heconducts research in two groups under the supervision of Prof. Raz Jelinek (Dept. of Chemistry) and Prof. Hanna Rapaport (Dept. of Biotechnology Engineering) elucidating the aggregation processes and inhibition of amyloid proteins and peptides. He developed chiral lysine-derived,carbon-based nanoparticles that have a significant inhibitory effect on several amyloids,thus could be used as a future potential therapeutic strategy.In 2018-2019 he was awardedwith an IKI Ph.D.scholarship, anADAMAexcellence prize for master and PhD students in chemistry (one for each),and aLeviner conference fellowship.His future research interest iscatalytic properties of self-assembled peptides and biomaterials.

Shweta Pawar has completed her PhD at the BITS-Pilani Hyderabad campus and now pursuing postdoc at Bar Ilan University, Israel. Her PhD thesis is about "Detailed Investigation of Nanoscale Light-Matter Interaction for Useful Sensing Applications". Currently, her skill of interest focuses on different fluorescence-based sensing, fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM), colloidal chemistry, plasmonics including MEF and SERS, synthesis of nanoparticles like carbon dots and metal nanoparticles and their application in metal sensing and bio-imaging.

Dr. Ye CHEN is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2015 and 2019, respectively. She has authored or co-authored over 30 SCI papers in the past five years. Her current research interest focuses on wet-chemical synthesis of novel inorganic Nanomaterials and their applications in catalysis and clean energy.

Youjian Song received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in optical engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Korea. He joined the faculty at Tianjin University in 2011 and he is now an Associate Professor. His research interests include novel ultrafast lasers and optical frequency combs, and the applications in precision metrology. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in Optica, Optics Letters, etc. He is a Senior member of OPTICA and IEEE. He also serves as a program committee member (2019 - 2021) for Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO).

Dr. Luzhao Sun is a research fellow in Beijing Graphene Institute, China. He received his B.S. in Information Display and Opto-Electronic Technology from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2015, and his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from Peking University in 2020. Dr. Sun’s current research interests focus on chemical vapor deposition (CVD)-based graphene film, especially on controlled growth of graphene regarding domain size, layer number, stacking order, doping and strain. He has issued over 20 patents, published over 30 peer-reviewed journal papers and authored several book chapters. The number of citations is over 1200 times and his present h-index is 20 (Google Scholar). He is an Advisory Board Member with Materials Today Electronics.

Yi Chen is an associate professor at School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Southeast University. His research interest lies at the Soft Plasmonic Nanoarchitechtures, particularly flexible plasmonic superlattices/assemblies for ultrasensitive detection/sensing, E-Skin-Based flexible and wearable electronics.

Dr. Fangzhu Qing is an associate professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). She received her PhD degree in materials science from Sichuan University and then joined UESTC in 2015. She worked as a visiting scholar in the Microelectronics Research Center at the University of Texas-Austin in 2019. Her current research interests focus on the synthesis and application of graphene and other 2D materials.

Muhammad Omar Shaikh currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Sustainability Science and Engineering at Tunghai University. He completed his BEng and MEng in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and his Ph.D. in Mechatronic Science and Engineering from the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. His current research interests revolve around developing micro and nano sensing technologies including biosensors for point-of-care diagnostics, tactile sensors for robotics, gas sensors and wearable energy harvesters for self-powered sensing applications. He also previously served as the Chief Technology Officer for BiTAPE Logistics, a university spin-off company developing a smart flexible tape for improving logistic services using Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) and Blockchain technology. Through his future research projects, he wishes to contribute to the field of smart systems (sensing, actuation and control) by developing innovative technologies utilizing novel materials, devising creative ways to power and communicate with them and using a “system integration” approach to provide holistic solutions for real-world use.

Asad Alkhader is a specialist on plant nutrition and soil fertility. He is working as an expert researcher at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Jordan. He is interested on plant nutrient and soil water management research issues. Most of his current research studies are focused on nutrient and water management.

Golibjon Berdiyorov is currently a senior scientist at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Doha, Qatar. He obtained his Diploma in Physics in 1998at Tashkent State University, Uzbekistan. He defended his PhD thesis in 2007 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. His thesis was about computational study of parameters of superconducting materials under external electro-magnetic fields. After his PhD he did postdoctoral research for several years, where he learned different computer simulation methods starting from first-principle density functional theory to continuum models for large scale simulations. His current research interest is in theoretical materials science for energy, water and environmental applications. In particular he is interested in predicting novel and functional materials for photovoltaics, water desalination and carbon capture and storage applications.

Dr. Sukarno Olavo Ferreira received the Bachelor degree in Physics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil-1983), master of Science in Electronic and Telecommunication at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE, Brazil-1986) and the PhD at the Johannes Kepler Universität (JKU-Linz, Austria-1995). He worked at INPE for 10 years and was visiting researcher at the National Laboratory for Syncrotron Radiation (LNLS) in Brazil. He is actually Full Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (Brazil) and has published more than 100 papers with more than 1300 citations (h index 20; WoS). Main research area is the growth and characterization of semiconductor materials: epitaxial growth techniques (LPE, HWE and MBE), low dimensional heterostructures (quantum well and quantum dots), II-VI diluted magnetic semiconductors and the study of growth kinetics of thin films by dynamic scale and roughening theory. He is also interested in applying different experimental techniques, x-ray scattering (HRXRD, GID and XRR), electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and scanning probe microscopy (AFM, MFM, KPM) in the characterization of new materials in multidisciplinary areas like green chemistry, catalysis, microbiology, food technology, civil engineering.

Silvana Mattedi got a Chemical engineering degree from Federal University of Bahia, a Master Degree and a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ) in 1993 and 1997. She has experience in Sustainable Processing Chemical Engineering, focusing on Applied Thermodynamics, Operations of Separation and Mixture, acting on the following subjects: equations of state, phase equilibria, ionic liquids and experimental data. She is a Full professor at Federal University of Bahia.

Dr. Lívia Chaguri has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Maringá (2003) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2008). She is currently a professor at the Lorena School of Engineering, University of São Paulo. Her area of research covers dehydration processes aiming at obtaining new materials, as well as improving physicochemical and structural properties.

Dr. Eduardo R Triboni has extensive experience in research on nanomaterial, organic physical chemistry, and molecular based materials. His research has led to significant improvements to these areas. His research interests are focused on soft and structural chemistry, self-assembly and crystallization, biomimetic systems, photo-responsive materials. His research encompasses metal and metal oxide preparations, naphthalimide based photo-responsive materials, and organic inorganic materials. He has his position as associate professor at the University of Sao Paulo since 2014 where founded the Laboratory of Nanotechnology and Process Engineering -NEP. He has undertaken projects with FAPESP (São Paulo Research Funding Agency) on these subjects and kept international and national academic collaborations.

After receiving my B.Pharm in 2011 from Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia), I pursued a PhD in Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, where I graduated in 2016. I returned to Malaysia right after to work as an Assistant Professor at University of Cyberjaya (UoC) and complete a post-doctoral fellowship with International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) before joining Al Ain University (UAE) in early 2018. Biomaterials and drug delivery system, particularly nanocarriers, are two of my primary research interests. My primary research activities have been on the synthesis of modified polymers (mainly polysaccharides) with better properties and the formulation of these polymers into nanoparticles for drug delivery applications (such as brain and percutaneous delivery). Having published a number of manuscripts as the first and co-author in prestigious journals, I am always motivated to conduct high-quality research for innovation in biomedical applications.

Özen ÖZER received her BSc and MSc degree in Mathematics from Trakya University, Edirne (Turkey) and also PhD degree in Mathematics from Süleyman Demirel University, Isparta (Turkey), respectively. Currently, she works as an Associate Professor Doctor at the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science and Arts at the Kırklareli University. Dr. Anees Ahmad Ansari Currently he is a Professor, King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (1998) in Chemistry from M.J.P. Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, and received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. 2004) from Jamia Millia Islamia (a central university), India. Dr. Al-Ghamdi completed his Ph.D. degrees at Cardiff University UK in 2010. Afterword he got position at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Ghamdi research interest includes the design and fabrication of semiconductor devices laser diode and studies the optoelectronic and electrical properties of these devices by measuring their absorption, spontaneous, stimulated emission spectra, ideality factor, barrier height and series resistance. The current research topics include red emitters quantum dot laser diode which used in photodynamic therapy of cancer and also used in the manufacture of dual wavelength sources. Haya Alhumminay is currently Associated Professor of Physics at University of Jeddah. Her primary research focuses on nanoscale materials and sensor devices fabrication which used for environmental control system. She holds a Ph.D. degree (2013) from the university of Nottingham, UK and a MSc degree (2005) from King Abdulaziz University, SA. She was a fellow research at Massachusetts institute of technology - MIT’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering 2017. Prior to joining MIT, she was a Deputy Director, Center of Nanotechnology at KAU, SA (2016). Currently, she is a Deputy Manger Supervisor of Administration of Attracting and Nurturing Talent at Jeddah University.

Pradeep Kadu has completed his Masters in Applied Chemistry from the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur, India. In June 2016, he qualified the junior research fellowship exam conducted by Council of scientific and industrial research (CSIR), India, and joined as a Research Scholar (Ph.D. student) in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay under the supervision of Prof. Samir Maji. His research work is mainly focused on shape-controlled synthesis of highly plasmonic metal nanoparticles and their interaction with biomolecular scaffolds using amyloids and their applications in bioassays. Besides work, he loves vector designing and art illustration for scientific articles.

Ahmed Raza Khan did his PhD from Australian National University. He is working as postdoctoral researcher in School of Engineering, Australian National University. His research interests include linear and nonlinear optics, strain-engineering of nano- materials and non-conventional machining process. Dr. Muhammad Farooq has more than 13 years of research, industrial and teaching experience around the globe including UK, USA, China, Italy, Turkey, Germany, France, Pakistan, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Netherlands. Desissa who obtained his PhD in chemistry (material science) from Tianjin University (China) has found new novel molecule which persistently emit light after excitation source switched-off in air and water by suppressing the effect of triplet oxygen. According to the information from the Tianjin University website Desissa has spent two years working day and night in the laboratory to obtain the novel molecule. This discovery made him the first international student in the history of the school of science.

Igor F. Tkachenko is a Doctor of Science in Engineering, Full Professor of Material Science Department since 2007. He has graduated Pryazovsky State Technical University in 1981 on “Metal Science and Heat Treatment “. He has over 200 publications and international conference reports.
