Welcome Message
Dear Participants,
I am happy to transmit to you, on the behalf of the Organisers my warmest welcome to the Conference SENSORSMEET 2024.
Sensors are since ever the most important piece of technology that human’s ingenuity has invented in order to understand the World in which they were born by supplementing their own senses. Their aim have been the most various, from allowing to get information from phenomena not allowing direct observation, to allow a better inter-personal information through one often considered as “objective”. In the centuries, sensors were the object of continuous research for improving the reliability of the indication they provide, or to expand the fields of observation and the precision of the observation. Today, in addition to the previous qualities required to the sensors, a new perspective must also be satisfied: of supplying an even more indirect way to help the humans to interpret their indication, thanks to the use of a mediating machine, the computer, interfacing in most cases, and with an assumed higher confidence, the human mind.
With the additional link to a Journal dedicated to the same argument, this Conference will be a great opportunity for all Participants to exchange face-to-face (or via other modern tools) their last results, and the new opportunities that science is opening to future progress, not only technical, but also societal, and the latter also according to the new interest and commitment of all scientists for a more conscious way to life on our Planet … and abroad.
Dr. Franco Pavese,
Chair, former Research Director at CNR, Italy
