J. Michael Kosterlitz is a theoretical physicist recognized for his work with David J. Thouless on the application of topological ideas to the theory of phase transitions in two-dimensional systems with a continuous symmetry. The theory has been applied to thin films of superfluid 4He, superconductors and to melting of two-dimensional solids. Experiments on two dimensional layers of colloidal crystals agree with theoretical predictions in quantitative detail. This work was recognized by the Lars Onsager prize in 2000, membership in the AAAS 2007, by the 2016 Nobel Prize for physics and elected to the NAS in 2017. He graduated from Cambridge University earning a BSc in physics in1965, an MA in 1966 and received a D. Phil. from Oxford in 1969. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Torino University, Italy, in 1970 and at Birmingham University, U.K., from 1970-73. There he met David Thouless and together they did their groundbreaking work on phase transitions mediated by topological defects in two dimensions. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell in 1974 , on the faculty at Birmingham 1974-81 and Professor of Physics at Brown University 1982 – present.

Dr. Zhong Lin Wang is the Director of the Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Regents' Professor and Hightower Chair at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Wang pioneered the nanogenerators field for distributed energy, self-powered sensors and large-scale blue energy. He coined the fields of piezotronics and piezo-phototronics for the third generation semiconductors. Among 100,000 scientists across all fields worldwide, Wang is ranked #5 in career scientific impact, #1 in Nanoscience, and #2 in Materials Science. His google scholar citation is over300,000 with an h-index of over 264. Mukunda P Das is Honorary Professor in Theoretical Physics of the Australian National University. He is Fellow of American Physical Society, Institute of Physics (UK) and Australian Institute of Physics. His research interest spans the fundamental aspects of condensed matter, which include Superconductivity, Vortex Matter, Bose-Einstein Condensation, Strongly Correlated Electrons, Meso- and Nanoscopic Systems, Density Functional Theory and Theory of Disordered States. Dieter Bimberg received his Ph.D. degree from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held for 7 years a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, SNCI Grenoble, France. After serving as a Professor of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of Nanophotonics. He hold guest professorships at the RSRE Gt. Malvern (UK), Technion in Haifa, University of California at Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah from 2012-18 and Einstein Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017/8. Since 2018 he is the Director of the “Bimberg Chinese-German Center for Green Photonics” of the CAS at CIOMP, Changchun. He is a Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, a Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering of USA, and a Fellow of the US National Institute of Inventors. The American Physical Society and IEEE elected him as fellow/life fellow, respectively. Numerous international awards like the UNESCO award and medal for Nanoscience and –technology or the Russian State Prize for Science and Technology were bestowed to him. He has authored more than 1500 papers, close to 70 patent applications, and six books. The number of times his research works have been cited ~65 000 times and his Hirsch factor is 112 (Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices and energy efficient data communication and automotive systems.

Prof. Jinlian HU is a renowned shape memory polymers, fibers, textiles and biomaterials scientist. Her laboratory focuses on unearthing scientific principles and providing solutions to key problems in Healthcare of Wearable Materials in four major areas: Traditional Chinese medical therapies and their materials, energy materials and healthcare, spider silks and their relatives as biomaterials as well as personal protective integration. Professor Jinlian HU is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel and the British Textile Institute respectively. She published more about 400 papers, 13 books and hundreds of invited conference presentations. Her work on shape memory polymers have received broad attention from and achieved significant impacts on both industries and academic fields.

Dr Sauro Succi serves as Senior Research Executive and Principal Investigator at the Center for Life Nano Sciences at la Sapienza of the Italian Institute of Technology and Research Affiliate of the Physics Department of Harvard University. His research activity covers a broad range of topics related to complex states of flowing matter, such as fluid turbulence, micro and nanofluidics, soft matter as well as quantum and subnuclear fluids He is best known for his contributions to the early inception, development and application of the Lattice Boltzmann method, for which he has received a number of international awards, including the Alexander von Humboldt Award in Physics, (2003) the APS 2017 Aneesur Rahman Prize in Computational Physics and the 2019 CECAM Berni Alder Prize for exceptional contributions to the microscopic simulation of matter. Dr Succi is an elected Fellow of the APS and of the Academia Europaea.

Andrew Wee is a Class of ’62 Professor of Physics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests are in surface and nanoscale science, scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and synchrotron radiation studies of the molecule-substrate interface, graphene and related 2D materials. He was a Commonwealth Fellow as well as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, where he received his received his DPhil (1990). He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Physics (1994) as well as a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge. He is an Associate Editor of the journal ACS Nano, and serves or has served on several other journal editorial boards.

Dr. Fan Zhang’s research focuses primarily on topological matter, correlated electrons, and 2D materials. He obtained his PhD from Univ. of Texas at Austin in 2011 and did his postdoc at Univ. of Pennsylvania. In 2014 he joined Univ. of Texas at Dallas, where he is an associate professor now.

Cecilia Noguez pursued a Ph. D. degree in physics at UNAM in 1995. During her doctorate studies, she spent 16 months at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in Italy, studying the optical response of surfaces based on quantum methods. In 1995 she was a postdoctoral research assistant at the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Ohio University,working on physical properties of silicon clusters using first-principle methods. In October 1995, she accepted her current tenured appointment at the Physics Institute in UNAM (IFUNAM), where she was promoted to Full Professor in August 2005. By combining quantum physics and classical electroagnetic theory, her research has been able to elucidate structural, electronic, and optical properties of materials in emerging fields, including plasmonics, optical activity in chiral nanostructures, atomic adsorption processes, like functionalization and selection, van der Waals and Casimir forces, and radiative heat transfer in nanostructures.Over the years, her work has been recognized with awards by the Mexican Academy of Science, the Institute of Scientific Information (Thomson Reuters), and other national and international institutions. In particular, in 2016, Prof. Noguez received the National Science Award by the Mexican government, the top scientific research prize in Mexico.

Dr. George Z. Kyzas is Professor at the Department of Chemistry at the International Hellenic University, Greece (IHU). He was born in Drama (Greece) and studied Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). He obtained his BSc, MSc, and PhD from the Department of Chemistry (AUTh) expertised in Chemical Technology and Materials Science. Hei is now working at the Department of Chemistry (International Hellenic University), being the President/Head of the Department (since 2019). His research interests include the synthesis of various materials (norganic, aluminates, nanomaterials, polymers, graphenes, agro-food residues, etc.) for the treatment of wastewaters usually with sorption (dyes, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, phenols, oil-spills, etc). His scientific work has been published in more than 190 Papers in international journals with a high impact factor (IF,ave 4.8), while he published 8 Books, 36 Chapters in scientific Books and 3 Patents. He was also acted 7 times as Guest Editor at Special issues of journals and has more than 90 Announcements in International Conferences. His work is widely recognized with 7000 Citations based on Scopus database (h-index 54). His name is included in the list of World Top 2% Scientists for 2019, which is compiled by the Stanford University (USA) based on standardized citation indicators. Amitesh Paul, Senior Research Scientist of Material Science and Engineering, Guangdong-Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), grew up in India and received his Bachelor's and Master’s degree from the University of Calcutta in 1991 and PhD degree from University of Indore in 2002. Since 2001, he spent his early scientific years in Germany at the FZ-Jülich and at the HZB-Berlin before obtaining his Habilitation certificate working at the TUM-Garching in 2017. He is also scientific advisor at the MTA CER-Budapest. The Paul group at the GTIIT is focused on addressing the fundamental aspects of interface magnetism in layers and nanostructures.

Dr Zhenhua Ni is currently a professor in School of Physics at Southeast University (SEU, China). Hereceived his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU, China) in 2003, Ph.D. degree in Physics from National University of Singapore (NUS, Singapore) in 2007, and did his postdoctoral research in Department of Physics and Applied Physics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) from 2007-2010. His current research interests include the spectroscopic investigation of two dimensional materials and their applications in optoelectronic devices. He has published more than 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and receiving over 14000 citations with H-index of 57. He was identified in the 2019 Highly Cited Researchers list from the Web of Science Group.

Professor Hong Seok Kang (email: hsk@jj.ac.kr) obtained his BSc (Chemistry) from Seoul National University, andhis PhD (Physical Chemistry) from KAIST, South Korea. As a professor in Jeonju University in Korea, he has been progressively more and more involved in research fordesigning and understanding electronicstructure of various low dimensional nanomaterials using first-principles calculation. In collaboration with sophiscated experimental groups, his interest has been recently extended to the applications of those materials insecondary battery and photocatalytic/electrocatayltic CO2/H2O reduction.For his research, he was awarded three major prizes: (1) Ipjae Physical Chemistry Prize from the Division of Physical Chemistry, Korean Chemical Society (2009), (2) Breakthrough Research Award for honoring Jeonju University (2017), and (3) Excellent Research Award supported by Ministry of Education of Government of Korea (2018). Oana Cojocaru-Mirédin received her Ph.D. degree in physics in 2009 from the University of Rouen, France, within the “Group Physique des Matériaux”. Afterward, she worked as a postdoc till 2012 at Max-Planck-InstitutfürEisenforschung GmbH in Düsseldorf, Germany. By winning the “NanoMatFutur” competition organized by Federal Ministry for Education and Research in Germany, she became in 2013 the head of“Interface design in solar cells” group. In 2015, she moved to RWTH Aachen University within the I. Institute of Physics where she leads since then the “Nanocharacterization of Advanced Functional Materials” group. Her research interests include the characterization and processing of compound semiconductors for energy applications (photovoltaic, battery and thermoelectric applications) by means of correlative microscopy, i.e. a combination of the atom probe tomography with other microscopy techniques. Dr. Cojocaru-Mirédin has more than 70 ISI recorded articles and contributions in 45 conferences.

Denis Mazuyer graduated in Engineering from École Centrale de Lyon in 1986 and holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (1989) from École Centrale de Lyon. He obtained his ‘Agrégation’ in Mathematics (highest national teaching examination in France) in 1991 and his habilitation to supervise research in 1995. The French National Centre recruited him as a researcher for Scientific Research (CNRS) in 1989. He was promoted as a Full Professor at École Centrale de Lyon in 2000. His research in the "Laboratoire de Tribologie et Dynamique des Systèmes" (LTDS) mainly concerns tribology of lubricated interfaces and the role surfaces properties on friction from full-film lubrication to boundary lubrication. He heads LTDS from 2007 to 2014. He is the co-author of 100 peer-reviewed papers. He was awarded the Edmond Bisson Prize from the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) in 2009. From 2013 to 2017 is the President of École Centrale de Lyon’s select board of directors and of Manutech – USD’s board of directors, a lab developing equipment on surface texturing processes, until 2018.

Devashibhai Adroja is a senior scientist and STFC Fellow at the ISIS facility, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK, and is responsible for the time of flight spectrometer MERLI. He is also a visiting professor at Johannesburg University, South Africa. Dr Adroja obtained his PhD degree in 1991 from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India and then worked as a research fellow at Southampton, JSPS fellowship at Hiroshima University, research fellow at St Andrews before joining ISIS facility in 1999. His research programme is focused on strongly correlated electron systems, with a special emphasis on quantum criticality and non-Fermi-liquid behaviour, low-dimensional and frustrated magnetism, heavy fermion superconductivity, high temperature superconductors, FeAs-based and Cr-based superconductors, topological superconductors and caged type thermoelectric materials. He is an acknowledged expert on the magnetism of f-electron systems and he has more than 30 years of experience in neutron scattering and muon spin rotation techniques. He was the pioneer in discovering the Kondo insulator behaviour in CeRhSb and investigated caged-type Kondo insulators using inelastic neutron scattering. Recently he has made significant contributions to the field of spin and charge gap formation in strongly correlated electron systems, Fe-based superconductors, and published thee review papers on these topics. He has published over 350 papers in peer-review journals. He is a member of beam time proposal review panel at NIST, USA, ANSTO and J-PARC, Japan.

Prof. Moewes obtained his Ph.D. in Physics in 1995 at the University of Hamburg in Germany. After a postdoc at Tulane University (New Orleans) and an Assistant Professor position at Louisiana State University, he joined in 2000 the University of Saskatchewan as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor in 2003. Since 2002, Prof. Moewes holds various Canada Research Chairs for materials science with synchrotron radiation. His area of research is condensed matter physics and materials science and he studies the electronic structure of new materials. His group uses synchrotron-based soft X-ray spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations to characterize, understand and tailor new materials ultimately to be used for electronics, lighting devices and other applications. Prof. Moewes has made contributions to semiconductor physics specifically to two-dimensional systems (graphene, silicene), spinelectronic systems, ultra-hard materials, and materials used in light emitting diodes (LEDs).materials for lighting devices (pcLEDs). He also is the beamteam leader for inelastic scattering endstation at the Canadian synchrotron, the Canadian Light Source.

Manuel F. M. Costa hold a PhD degree in Science (Physics) from the University of Minho (Portugal) where he works since 1985 at its Physics Department teaching and performing applied research in optical metrology, image processing,thin films nanostructures and applications, instrumentation, and, science education and literacy. Prof. Efrat Lifshitz, earned a PhD at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. She did postdoctoral researchat the University of Michigan as well as at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. She joined the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology in 1990. Prof. Lifshitz holds the MatweiGunsbuourgh Academic Chairat the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry, Technion. I, Shuji Watanabe, got my PhD at Nagoya University, Japan and I am now a Professor of Mathematics at Gunma University, Japan. I am especially interested in operator theory applied to the BCS-Bogoliubov model of superconductivity. In the BCS-Bogoliubov model, one differentiates the thermodynamic potential with respect to the temperature twice so as to show that the transition from a normal conducting state to a superconducting state is a second-order phase transition without an external magnetic field. Since the thermodynamic potential has the solution to the BCS-Bogoliubov gap equation in its form, one differentiates the solution with respect to the temperature twice without showing that the solution is differentiable. Therefore, if the solution were not differentiable with respect to the temperature, then one could not differentiate the solution, and hence one could not show the second-order phase transition. This is why we need to show that the solution is differentiable with respect to the temperature twice as well as showing its existence and uniqueness. Motivated by this, in my recent papers I showed that the solution to the BCS-Bogoliubov gap equation is indeed differentiable with respect to the temperature twice on the basis of fixed-point theorems, and gave an operator-theoretical proof for the second-order phase transition. In this way, from the viewpoint of operator theory, I solved the long-standing problem of the second-order phase transition left unsolved for sixty-three years since the discovery of the BCS-Bogoliubov model.

Alejandro Kunold is a theoretical physicist interested in the fields of mathematical physics, spintronics, two-dimensional Dirac materials and quantum information theory. He got his PhD in physics from the Institute of Physics of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He was a visiting professor at the Institut National des Sciences Apliquées. He is a full professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in México where he has taken on a variety of administrative roles as Coordinator of the Physics Engineering Program and chair of the Condensed matter and theoretical physics area. His main scientific interests are spin dynamics in dilute III-nitrides, quantum evolution through Lie algebraic methods, the interaction of light with two-dimensional Dirac materials and quantum algorithms.

Gustavo Dalpian got a PhD in Physics from the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (USP) (2003), with a postdoc at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) (2003-2005) and at the University of Texas at Austin (2005-2006) in the United States. He is a professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), where he served as Vice-Rector (2010-2014) and Pro-Rector of Graduate Studies (2014-2016). He was a visiting professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder (2017-2018). Has experience in the field of Condensed Matter Physics, focusing his research on an interface between Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science, particularly in semiconductor materials, nanostructures, materials informatics, and materials for energy.

Graduating from the Moscow Physico-Technical University, the best school in Physics in ex-USSR I passed the Landau minima entrance exams to the theory group in Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics in Moscow. Then, after completing my PhD I got the research position in ITP-Landau in 1990 where I had a unique opportunity to collaborate with the world-famous creators of modern Solid State Theory. Their guidelines idea of the predominant fundamental Physical Principles helps me further to switch easily between such different areas as superconductors, magnetic materials, fullerenes, and ferroelectrics. Working in Germany (91-92), Brazil (96-99), Swiss (2000), in USA and in France (since 2001), I always trying to follow the highest research and teaching standards, keeping the delicate balance between collaboration with experimentalists, applied and fundamental research, teaching, supervision of PhD students and management of research projects. International collaborations, mobility, organization of the dissemination and training events, coordination of European actions is another important part of my activity. A number of Horizon European projects and networks were organized under my supervision. Highly believing in the necessity of high-level research in academic media, I am trying to apply all my knowledge and expertise to select the quality, competence and long-range recruiting strategy as decisive criteria of scientific policy.

Luigi Maxmilian Caligiuri, graduated Magna cum Laude in Physics in 1995,from 2001 is full professor of Physicsand, from 2013 also the director of Foundation of Physics Research Center (FoPRC), an independent research organization devoted to advanced research in Physics. From 2014 to 2016 he has been Executive Director of the Scientific Projects Divisions at International Society for Space Science (ISSS). Prof Eun-jin Kim is a Professor in Physics and Applied Mathematics at Coventry University, UK. She obtained her BSc in Physics from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago, USA. She held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Leeds and Exeter in UK, High-Altitude Observatory in Boulder, USA and University of California, San Diego, USA and Assistant and Associate Professor positions at the University of Sheffield, UK. She is interested in complexity, self-organisation and non-equilibrium processes, and has a unique track record in multidisciplinary research, with applications to astrophysical and laboratory fluids/plasmas and biosystems. In particular, Prof. Kim is keen on information theory to investigate statistical mechanics, complexity and self-organisation in nonlinear systems, fluid/plasma turbulence, and biosystems. She is a holder of a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship. She published over 120 refereed journal papers.

Catherine Pepin is a condensed matter physicist working in the field of cuprate superconductors , quantum criticality, and magnetism. She is researcher at the IPhT CEA-Saclay.

Karyn Le Hur is a theoretical physicist aiming to answer fundamental questions in physics-related interdisciplinary research areas engaging many-body systems, condensed matter, quantum information theory, AMO systems and nanoelectronics. She did her PhD thesis at LPS Orsay France (1995-1998) with Bernard Coqblin on Kondo physics. Then, she was post-doctoral associate at ETH Zurich in the group of T. Maurice Rice working on strongly correlated matter and high-Tc superconductors (1998-2000). In 2000, she obtained a 6-year position in the group of Markus Buttiker in Geneva to learn mesoscopic physics (2000-2002). From 2002 to 2006, she was assistant and (tenure) associate professor at Sherbrooke University, Quebec, Canada, and in 2006-2011 associate professor at Yale University in USA. In 2012, she accepted a CNRS DR-research position in France, at CPHT Ecole Polytechnique, and she is also PCC professor at Ecole Polytechnique (partial time) since 2012.

Prof. Sergey Maksimenko (M.S. -1976, Ph.D. –1988, Dr. Sci. – 1996) is a director of the Institute for Nuclear Problems,Belarusian State University, since 2013. In 1992-2012 he worked atthe institute as a head of the Laboratory of Nanoelectromagnetics. He is SPIEFellow (2009) and Associate Editor of the Journal of Nanophotonics. He chairedthe International Conference "Fundamental and AppliedNanoelectromagnetics", Minsk, May 2012 and NATO ARWs with the same titlein May 2015 and June 2018. He also headsand/or participates in a number of international research projects, including EUmegagrant Graphene Flagship, and coordinated the EU FP7 project BY-NANOERA. Heis an expert of “Horizon 2020”, Skolkovo Foundation and Italian Ministry ofEducation, University and Research. Heco-authored more than 200 publications indexed in Scopus and WoS. His current research interest is nanoelectromagnetics -an originalmultidisciplinary approach combining electrodynamics of mesoscopic inhomogeneousmedia and quantum theory of electronic ensembles with reduced dimensionality.

Susumu SASAKI (male) was born in Osaka, Japan. He graduated from Physics Department in Waseda University in 1987 and joined the NMR Group (Prof. Hiroshi Yasuoka) of the Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), the University of Tokyo. After he was given a Master degree from the University of Tokyo in 1989,he was employed as a solid-state NMR researcher in NTT Basic Research Labs (Nippon Telegram and Telephone Corporation, the institute established after AT&T Bell Labs). He was given a Ph.D from the University of Tokyo in 1996forthe study entitled “NMR study on the electronic propertiesof superconducting fulleride K3C60”. Since 2000, he has been a professor at Niigata University in Japan. Since 2018, he was entitled to PI in Japan Agency for Medical Development (AMED), the organization established after NIH in the USA.

Keivan Esfarjani is a theoretical and computational materials scientist. His undergraduate studies up to the Masters level were done in France, at the Ecole Centrale de Paris where he studied all fields of engineering, and at the University of Paris VII where he specialized in solid-state physics. His PhD was in condensed matter theory, on screening properties of the 2D electron gas, followed by the melting of the 2D electron solid (the Wigner crystal) in the quantum regime via generation of dislocations. His research has covered non-linear lattice dynamics, density functional theory methods, and modeling of electronic and transport properties of nanoscale systems. He has pioneered a method to compute phonon lifetimes and thermal conductivity of solids from density functional calculation of force constants. His recent work has been to include anharmonicity via the self-consistent phonon theory in the thermodynamic and transport formalism at high temperatures. He has held appointments as assistant and then associate professorship at the Institute for Materials Research of the Tohoku University in Japan, where his research focused on understanding and modeling properties of carbon-based materials and clusters, using first-principles methods. This was followed by appointments at the Sharif University, UC Santa Cruz, MIT, and Rutgers University before finally landing at the University of Virginia.

Mingda Li is the Norman C. Rasmussen Assistant Professor at MIT Nuclear Science and Engineering Department. He completed his B.S in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University in 2009, PhD in Nuclear Science and Engineering from MIT in 2015, and did his postdoc at MIT Mechanical Engineering. His research is to design novel materials characterization methods to better measure the properties of quantum materials and to augment existing spectroscopic methods to acquire the information that have not been measurable before. He is the recipient of the 2021 U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Early Career Award.

S.-R. Eric Yang is a condensed matter theorist and is a Professor of Physics in Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. His research interests include many-body physics and its interplay with disorder. He holds a Cand. Scient. from University of Copenhagen and a Ph.D. from UCSD. He worked as a research scientist at National Research Council of Canada for 7 years before he joined the faculty of Korea University in 1995. He was the condensed matter coordinator at Asia Pacific Center of Theoretical Physics (APCTP) during its establishment period. He is currently writing a graduate textbook on topologically ordered insulators, which is to be published in 2022 by World Scientific.

Frank Marsiglio is a theoretical condensed matter physicist. His research centres around many-body physics in general and more specifically superconductivity. He has worked a lot on electron-phonon-driven superconductivity, and on properties of the basic building block for this — the polaron. He has also worked a great deal on hole superconductivity, which is a competing framework. Some of his other work has been on magnetic systems and trapped Fermi gases. Frank also spends a considerable effort on the modernization of undergraduate quantum physics, and he has published a number of pedagogical-style research papers with undergraduates. His undergraduate degree is in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. He then did his MSc and PhD at McMaster University with Jules Carbotte, followed by an NSERC postdoctoral fellowship at UCSD in La Jolla with Jorge Hirsch. He then spent the next 7 years as a Research Scientist at Chalk River Laboratories, where his research interests ranged from Bethe Ansatz solutions to the attractive Hubbard model to measuring strains in weave welds with neutron diffraction. In 1997 he became an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Alberta, and he has been there ever since. Along the way he has taken on a variety of administrative roles (Director of Theoretical Physics, Institute, Acting Chair of Physics (twice), Interim Dean of the Faculty of Science).

Nikolay Plakida is a professor of Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics (BLTP ) in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. He graduated Physical faculty of Moscow State University in 1960. He received his Ph.D. (Cand.Sci.,1966) and Habilitation (Dr. Sci., 1976) in theoretical physics. Professor Rank in Theoretical physics he got in 1991. In 1963—1966 he was a lecturer on the Physical faculty of Moscow State University and since 1966 he works in BLTP in JINR where he was a head of the Department ``Theory of condensed matter’’. Presently he has a position of a Chief scientific researcher. His research devotes to the theory of many-body systems. In previous years he developed a self-consistent phonon theory of lattice dynamics of strongly anharmonic crystals where lattice instability was predicted at high temperatures. Since 1984 his research interest was directed to the theory of superconductivity and, in particular, since 1987 to the high-temperature superconductivity in cuprates. He has developed with his coworkers a theory of spin fluctuations and superconductivity in strongly-correlated electronic systems, such as cuprates, based on application of Hubbard operator technique to the t-J and Hubbard models. The theory was published in the book ``High-Temperature Cuprate Superconductors’’(Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 2010, 570 pp.) and presented in a number of International Conferences. In 1992–2007 he was a visiting Professor at MPIF (Stuttgart), RAL (Didcot, UK),CPT CNRS (Marseille), MPIPKS (Dresden) and was working in Japan as an invited Professor in Yukawa Institute(Kyoto) and Tohoku University (Sendai). He has published more than 300 articles in peer-reviewed international journal, has wrote 5 books and several review contributions to monographs. He has currently h-index of 30. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics (Moscow) and Condensed Matter Physics (Ukraine). In 2003 he got a reward of a Honored worker in science of Russia.

Guichuan Yu is the University of Minnesota Characterization Facility staff scientist and Informatics Institute imaging analyst. Dr. Yu provides data analysis support and enhances data-intensive research for the university research community. He is also responsible for advancing analytical methods, developing imaging analysis software, and providing customized data analysis solutions to characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction, scanning probe microscopy and electron microscopy. Guichuan designed and developed X-ray imaging software RSLAB, atomic force microscopy software AFMLAB, and software for Cryo-TEM data analysis.

Dr Maria Cristina Diamantini completed her PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Perugia in 1995. She then held positions at both CERN and the University of Oxford with a fellowship of the Swiss National Science Foundation, while becoming a Humboldt fellow at the Free University in Berlin. She now teaches Theoretical Physics and Statistical Mechanics at the University of Perugia, and is part of the Noise in Physical Systems Laboratory in Perugia and of Italy’s National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN, Perugia’s section).

Dr. Takeshi Egami received his Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Tokyo in 1968, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971. After the postdoctoral research at the University of Sussex, U.K. and Max-Planck-Institute in Stuttgart, Germany, he returned to the University of Pennsylvania in 1973 as Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1976, to Professor in 1980, and was the Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (1997 to 2002). In 2003 he moved to the University of Tennessee as UT-ORNL Distinguished Scientist/ProfessoratDepartment of Materials Science and Engineering and Department of Physics and Astronomy, with join appointment at Materials Science and Technology Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was Founding Director of UT-ORNL Joint Institute for Neutron Sciences (JINS) (2008-2015). He is known for promoting the use of the PDF technique to the study of complex crystalline materials and developing a theory of liquids and glasses based upon the concept of the atomic-level stresses. He received 2010 J. D. Hanawalt Award from International CenterforDiffraction Data,2003 B. E. Warren Award for Diffraction Physics from American Crystallography Association, Metal Physics Achievement Award from Japan Institute of Metals (1988), Robert Lansing Hardy Gold Medal from TMS-AIME (1974), and other awards. He is Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Neutron Scattering Society of America. Dr. Egami has published 1 book,over 30 full reviews and over 540 technical papers. He gave over 350 invited technical presentations at national and international conferences,in addition tonumerous seminars.

Jacek Pozorski is a professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences, in charge of the Multiphase Flow Group at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery (IMP PAN), Gdańsk, Poland. He graduated in applied physics from Gdańsk University of Technology, has got his PhD in fluid mechanics in 1995 (it was partly prepared during a research stay at EDF, R & D Division, Chatou, France) and the D.Sc. degree in mechanics (2005) from IMP PAN. His research interests include theoretical and computational fluid mechanics and, in particular, turbulence, dispersed two-phase systems and flows with interfaces, combustion, thermomechanics of flows in granular media using LBM, stochastic modelling, Lagrangian particle methods such as PDF/FDF (Probability / Filtered Density Function) and SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics), inverse design methods. He participated in the Summer Program at Center for Turbulence Research (Stanford University, 2004) and was a research fellow at the University of Udine. He is a member of the Committee on Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the chair of the Fluid Mechanics Section there. He serves as Editorial Board member of Acta Mechanica and Archives of Mechanics (JCR-listed journals) and Computer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science.

T. Uchino received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Kyoto University. From 1995 to 2001, he was in the Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University as Instructor (1995-1998) and Associate Professor (1999-2001). During the term from November 1997 to March 1999, he was also in the Department of Chemistry, University College London as a visiting research fellow under the supervision of Prof. David C. Clary. He then moved to Kobe University in 2001 and has been in the Chemistry Department as Professor. His research activities are primarily concerned with structural and electronic properties of solids. His main research topic is as follows: structure and vibrational properties of glassy solids; photo-induced structural changes in amorphous materials; optical, magnetic, and electronic properties of defects in solids; excitonic properties of wide-bandgap semiconductors; electronic, electric, and magnetic properties of semiconductor/superconductor nanocomposites. He is an author and co-author of more than 100 papers in international journals, including Science, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B and Applied Physics Letters.

Shun-Jen Cheng received his Dr. rar. nat. degree in physics from the University of Würzburg, Germany, in 2001, with the thesis entitled “Collective excitations and Coulomb drag in two-dimensional semiconductor systems”under the supervision of Prof. Rolf GerhardtsatMax-Planck Institute for Solid-State Research in Stuttgart. After the completion of his doctoral research in Germany, he moved to OttawainCanada and worked as Research Associate in the Quantum Theory group led by Prof. PawelHawrylak at Institute for Microstructural Sciences (IMS) of National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. At NRC, his main interest of research was transferred from 2Dsystems to be in the zero-dimensional ones, specifically epitaxial and colloidal quantum dots. In 2003, he moved back to his home country, Taiwan, and was appointed as an assistant professor of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Hsinchu, Taiwan. He is currently a full professor at the Department of Electrophysics of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) (NCTU was renamed to NYCU in 2021). His theoretical and computational research on low-dimensional systems covers the wide aspects of physics in nano-sciences, from the electronic structures, exciton physics, photonics to magnetism. His recent interest of research is againback to be in the 2Dsystems that are yet atomically thin, and specifically focused on the exciton fine structures and dark exciton physics of transitional metal dichalcogenide monolayers.The quantumsolid-state theory group led by Prof.Cheng at NYCU has recently accomplished an advanced computational platform based on the first principles density-functional-theoryandBethe-SalpeterequationintheWanniertightbindingscheme, enabling the efficient and quantitatively valid calculations of full-zoneexciton fine structures of 2Dmaterials.

Israa Medlej received her Ph.D. in Physics (Grade 1-So Honorable) in 2019 from Messina University, Italy in collaboration with the Lebanese University. For her Ph.D. studies, she also received a scholarship sponsored by the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain (Erasmus Project). Her fundamental expertise includes magnetism, spintronics, and the implementation of experimental techniques for the characterization of magnetic microparticles. She also received a scholarship in 2016 sponsored by the University of Lorraine, Saint Avold (France), to do her internship of Master 2 in Condensed Matter Physics. She got the Best Oral Presentation in France and the Best Poster Award at the Conference of the Italian Magnetism Association Magnet 2019. After her Ph.D., she has started working on magnonics and spintronics-based neuromorphic computing. She is the Research Topic coordinator in the Journal of Frontiers in Physics. She was a member of the local organizing committee: i) The annual meeting of the IEEE Italy chapter in June 2018 (30 participants) and (ii) the 6th Italian conference on Magnetism (120 participants), from January 30 to February 1, 2019 conference promoted by the Italian Magnetism Society (http://magnet2019.unime.it/). She has published in international reviewed journals. She has reviewed papers in reputed journals.

Dr. Andrea De Iacovo received his Ph.D. defending a dissertation on Schottky Barrier Thin-Film Transistors on Polycrystalline Silicon. He is currently a Junior Researcher with the Department of Engineering, University Roma Tre. His research focuses on design, fabrication and characterization of sensor devices based on innovative materials in a more-than-Moore pathway. He worked on Ge-on-Si photodetectors and on optical and chemical sensors based on Colloidal Quantum Dots.

Domenico Truzzolillo is a CNRS researcher at the Laboratoire Charles Coulomb (Montpellier). After Receiving a PhD in Physics from the Sapienza - University of Rome in 2010, he moved to FORTH. (Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas) as a postdoc in the group of Prof. D. Vlassopoulos, before joining Laboratoire Charles Coulomb in 2012. His research interests range from the rheology of complex fluids and modeling of colloidal interactions to fluid dynamic instabilities and interfacial phenomena

[MS'19] graduated in physics (2018-2019) from University “Sapienza" in Rome in the framework of the Virgo experiment. During his studies he cultivated also his passion for music, graduating at the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia" (2017-2018) in Rome with a thesis that combined the physics of gravitational waves and music. During this period, he has participated as a composer in concerts in Rome and in New York. In 2019 attended a post-graduated training course on machine learning in Bergamo. He entered the PhD program of Electromagnetism at “Sapienza". He deals with the modeling and design of intelligent hardware systems operating in the domain of optics. He has presented works at conferences in Prague, Parma and Rome. He collaborates on projects for the construction of magnetic nanomemories. At the same time, he has a contract with the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering at “Sapienza͟ on the European project “Collection Care͟. In this frame he deals with pollution sensors. Moreover he applies artificial intelligence techniques to the microclimate of cultural heritage to provide useful predictions for the conservation of artistic artefacts. He was awarded with the "Avvio alla Ricerca" funding in November 2020. He is a lecturer for mathematical analysis and physics courses, at the Sapienza University of Rome and at the Camplus college in Rome and Bologna. He is the founder and lecturer of the Coding and Music course at the Digital Education Lab

Prof. Dr. Anna Rodina is a Senior Scientific Researcher in the laboratory of Spin and Optical Phenomena in Semiconductors at Ioffe Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (St.-Petersburg, Russia). She received her Ph.D. (1993) and Habilitation (Dr. Sci., 2016) degrees in Physics from Ioffe Institute and became a Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences in 2018. The expertise of Prof. Rodina is in the theory of semiconductors and semiconductor nanostructures. Her current research interests are optical and magneto-optical properties and spin-dependent phenomena in semiconductor colloidal nanocrystals.

Filomena Forte is a theoretical condensed matter physicist. She is a researcher of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), at the SPIN Institute. She obtained her Master degree and PhD from the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno, Italy. Her main research interests lie in many-body physics and specifically Strongly Correlated Systems, Spin-Orbital Physics, Advanced Spectroscopies. Her research focuses on modeling and computational analyses of electronic, magnetic and transport properties of multifunctional advanced materials, mainly transition metal oxides, characterized by the coexistence of competing nearly degenerate states, which couple simultaneously active degrees of freedom - charge, lattice, orbital, and spin. An important part of her research has been devoted to the theoretical analysis of the spectroscopic response of advanced X-ray spectroscopies, which include X-ray Angle Resolved Photoemission Electron Spectroscopy, core-level x-ray absorption, resonant elastic x-ray diffraction, resonant inelastic x-ray scattering.

Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and obtained PhD from the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research and Technical University of Dresden. Did postdoctoral research at the BESSY synchrotron at the Helmholtz Center Berlin for Materials and Energy. From 2017 on doing research and teaching at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. I'm working in the field of unconventional superconductors and correlated systems, mainly using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy as a tool to study the rich electronic spectrum. The knowledge gained from the investigation of the anomalies in the conduction band reflecting the many-body nature of the electrons, helps to come closer to understanding their intriguing behavior. Currently it seems interesting to find out how we can guide the synthesis of the new potential high-temperature superconductors utilizing the phenomenology of the already available data.

Martha Suarez Villagran is a physicist working in state condensed matter and biophysics at the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston. Dr. Villagran holds a degree in physics from the National University of Colombia and a Ph.D. in physics from the State University of Campinas in Sao Pablo, Brazil. Her research is focused on the study of metal-insulator transitions in two-dimensional disordered systems, the mechanical properties of Covalent Organic Framework (COFs), and the correlation between electron--holes in the DNA and mutation rate that guides molecular evolution and diseases.

Dr. Xue-Feng Zhang, obtained a doctoral degree in the institute of theoretical physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. Then, he worked at Technical University of Kaiserslautern and Max-Planck institute for the physics of complex systems as a post-doc. Now, he is a professor at Chongqing University, China. His main research interest is focusing on the theory of quantum many body systems, especially topological phase of matter and ultra-cold atoms in optical lattice.

Weili Zhang received B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in communication engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. From 09/2008 to 10/2010, he was working as a research fellow in School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From 09/2016 to 09/2017, he was working as a visiting scholar in Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen University, Demark. He began to work in University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as an associated professor since November 2010, and as a professor since 2016. His research interests include random and chaos lasers, microcavity lasers, smart light control and imaging applications. He has authored/coauthored over 100 papers published in refereed professional journals and national and international conferences, he filled 10 patents and published one monograph, his paper gained 2700+ citations, and his H-index is 30. His doctoral dissertation was awarded the nomination award of "National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China", and he won the 2nd prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education. Dr. Zhang was in the editorial board committee of Optical and Quantum Electronics and is in the editorial board committee of Photonics Sensors.

Junjie Du obtained his Ph.D. in Physics in 2010 at Fudan University in China. After a Research Assistant Professor position at Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, CAS, he joined in 2012 East China Normal University as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor in 2021. His research interests include nanooptics and nanophotonics, optical micromanipulation, and graphene electron optics. He initiated new lines of research on metagratings in nanooptics. He is currently focusing his attention on the generalization of the conceptions of metamaterials, metasurfaces and metagratings to graphene electronics.

Dr Luca M. Ghiringhelli leads the group “Big-Data analytics for Materials Science" in the Novel Materials Discovery (NOMAD) Laboratory at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society and Humboldt University, in Berlin. Formerly, he has led the group "Ab initio statistical mechanics of cluster catalysis and corrosion" in the theory department at the FHI. His background is in computational statistical mechanics and electronic-structure methods, applied to the evaluation of thermodynamic and kinetic properties of bulk materials, surfaces, and nano-clusters. Within the NOMAD Lab, he leads the development and application of methods based on compressed sensing, symbolic regression, subgroup discovery, and deep learning to the modelling of big data in materials science. His focus is on methods that yield interpretable models and can cope with “small data” for training. He also co-leads the development of the hierarchical and extensible metadata infrastructure for the NOMAD Lab. Since January 2018, he is co-leading the Psi-k working group on “High-throughput screening and data analytics”.

Myung-Hwa Jung received her Ph.D. from Hiroshima University, Japan in 2000.She worked as a postdoc at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, US as a postdoc for two years, and then moved to the Korea Basic Science Institute, Korea as a junior researcherin 2002. Since 2008, Myung-Hwa Jung has served as a professor in the Department of Physics at Sogang University, Seoul, Korea. Her research interests are magnetic and transport properties at extreme conditions, especially the properties in topological materials including Dirac and Weyl semimetals. In addition, she is interested in magnetic thin films for spintronic applications. She has published about 250 papers and currently her H-index is 39.

Mario Piva obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and his PhD in Physics in 2020 both from the University of Campinas in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Currently, he is a post-doctoral research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Germany. His research focus is tuning novel properties, such as magnetism, superconductivity and non-trivial topology of materials with external parameters as high pressures, high magnetic fields and low temperatures.

Leandro Rocha is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Research and Development of Functional Materials, Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Paulo, Brazil, focusing on the multi-functionality of cerium oxide (CeO2)-based nanomaterials towards environmental sensing and bio-nanotechnology applications. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics (2011) as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Engineering (2016) from the São Paulo State University (UNESP), besides a Masters Degree (2015) and a Ph.D. (2018) in Materials Engineering (UNESP). Currently has 23 publications and H-index 8.

Rushana Eremina is a Professor of Departments of physics at Kazan State University and the Head of the Laboratory of Radio Spectroscopy of Dielectrics (Kazan, Russia). Her research interests include magnetic resonance, phase separation, magnetic susceptibility, multiferroics, quasi-one dimensional magnets, anisotropic exchange interaction, nanocrystalline materials and glasses. She has published more than about 87 refereed journal papers with an H-index of 15 and 947+ citations. Prof. Dong-Hyun Kim is currently a full professor of Department of Physics in Chungbuk National University (Cheongju, South Korea). He received his Ph.D in 2002 at KAIST, South Korea and worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab for 2004-2006 as a postdoc researcher, before joining in CBNU He has been working on the magnetism research for more than 20 years with 150 scientific publications. His recent interests are observations of magnetic domain patterns, magnetocaloric effect, ultrafast spin dynamics, THz-based spin dynamics, synchrotron-based magnetism research, together with development of magneto-optic and magnetic imaging techniques.,

Satoshi Irei is an atmospheric chemistat the National Institute for Minamata Disease, Japan. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry at York University, Canada andexperienced thepost-doctoral scientist at the National Institute for Environmental Studies and the University of the Ryukyus in Japan. He joined the National Institute for Minamata Disease, Japan in 2017where he works currently as a senior researcher. His interests are laboratory and field studies for oxidation reactions of atmospheric trace level substances from the view of molecular to global scale. Particularly, his recent studies focuson the use of fractionations in light and heavy isotopesat natural abundancesfor the elucidation of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction mechanisms and its application.

Y Manassen is a full professor at the department of physics, Ben Gurion University, Beer Sheva, Israel. Prof. Manassen did his PhD in Tel Aviv University on the field of NMR. He did his postdoc in IBM TJ Watson Research Center - where he started to work in the field of scanning tunneling microscopy. He is working on questions of nano elasticity and surface chemistry, but his main direction is in the field of single spin magnetic resonance with the scanning tunneling microscope.

Kuang Yu was graduated from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University in 2008.He received his PhD degree in the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2013, then conducted his postdoctoral research in Princeton University from 2013 to 2016.Then he worked at D. E. Shaw Research as a research scientist until 2018, when he joined the Nano Energy Materials Lab in TBSI as Assistant Professor. Professor Kuang Yu’s research interests focus on theoretical and computational modelling of material systems, utilizing both ab initio and molecular mechanics approaches. In particular, he worked on multiscale electronic structure methods and high-accuracy molecular force fields development.

Sergey Morozov, born July 09, 1975 in the city of Gorky (now Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia). In the year 1992 entered the Faculty of Applied Physics and Microelectronics (hereinafter the Faculty of Physics) of the Lobachevski State University of Nizhniy Novgorod. In 1998 defended his thesis for a master's degree and entered the full-time postgraduate study of the Lobachevskiy State University. Studied in full-time postgraduate study at the Lobachevskiy State University since 1998 to 2001 under the leadership of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Professor I.A. Karpovich. After completing his postgraduate studies in 2001, he was hired at the Institute for Physics of Microstructures RAS (IPM RAS) for the position of electronics of the 1st level, later transferred to the position of research assistant. In 2012 he was assigned the position of senior research assistant, and in 2015 he was elected for the position of head of the laboratory "Physics of semiconductor heterostructures and superlattices", where he works at the moment. In 2002, working at the IPM RAS, at the dissertation council of the Faculty of Physics of the Lobachevski State University defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on the topic "PHOTOELECTRIC SPECTROSCOPY OF HETEROSTRUCTURES WITH QUANTUM DOTS GaAs / InAs". Between October and November 2004 and from October to November 2006 he was working on research in the Semiconductor Research Group of the National Center for Scientific Research, University II of Montpellier (France), in the laboratory of Dr. Wojtek Knap. In 2005 he took part in research in the group of Professor S. Komiyama at the University of Tokyo (Tokyo, Japan). From August to September 2018, he carried out research in the group of Professor T. Otsuji RIEC University of Tohoku (Sendai, Japan). At the moment, there is an active scientific cooperation with the University of Tohoku (Japan, Sendai), ENS (Paris, France), University of Montpellier L2C (Montpellier, France) and Institute of Optical Sensor Systems of the German Aerospace Center (Berlin, Germany). Author of over 120 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Specialist in Terahertz, mid and far IR, nanostructures, shallow impurities, nonlinear process, quantum well, spectroscopy, photoconductivity kinetics, narrow-gap semiconductors, photoluminescence, injection lasers, topological insulators.

Yong Xu received his B.S. degree from Lanzhou University in 2005 and PhD degree from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Science in 2013. In 2017, he joined the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University as an assistant professor, after his postdoc training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and the University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests broadly encompass the theory of topological condensed matter physics and ultra-cold atomic gases. His mainly research contribution includes the theoretical prediction of structured (type-II) Weyl fermions in spin-orbit coupled superfluids and Weyl exceptional rings in non-Hermitian Weyl semimetals.

Jiagui Wu is a full Professor with the College of Artificial Intelligence, Southwest University, China and a visiting scholar in the Columbia University in the City of New York, New York, USA. He has authored or co-authored over 70 publications including about 50 journal papers. His research interests include micro-nanophotonic,information security，near-infrared, mid-infrared and far-infrared Technologies and Applications.

Prof. Valeri Lozovski received hisMs. Degree in 1978, Ph.D. in 1985, and Dr.ofSci. in 1994. He is Professor of Institute of High Technologies of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Kyiv, Ukraine) and Head of the Deaprtment of Theoretical Foundations of High Technologies. His scientific activity touches upon the optical properties of nano-sistems including the nano composite thin films. Last years his scientific activity shifted to nano medicine, namely – studiesof antiviral/antimicrobe activity of nanoparticles and nanostructured surfaces. In particular, heand his collegues explained the antiviral activity of nonfunctionalized nanoparticles fabricated from different materials by local-field enhancement effect: highfield gradients cause ponderomotive forces which destroy the molecules at the viral membrane upto its destruction.

Dr. Annie Ng is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Nazarbayev University. She has been working on solar technologies for 12 years and published over 50 research papers in the area of photovoltaics. She received her B.S. in Applied Physics from the City University of Hong Kong in 2009 and Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong in 2014. She achieved the Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for her postdoctoral research works. She was also appointed as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014. She is interested in optoelectronics, nanomaterials, light-harvesting materials and device applications.

Yu. N. Tszyan (Chiang) graduated from Department of Radiophysics of Kharkov Politechnical Institute in 1960. Since that time he divoted himself to scientific activities in the Laboratory of Kinetic Properties of Conducting Systems in ILTPE. In sequence, he held the positions of Leading Engineer (1960-1970), Junior Researcher (1970-1973), Senior Researcher (1973-1986), and Leading Researcher (1985-till now). From 1988 to 1993 he pluralizes as a Professor of the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. The total length of scientific work is 58 years. In 1970 Yu. N. Chiang maintained a Candidate Thesis entitled “Influence of Temperature and Magnetic Field on Conductivity of Aluminum Single Crystals”. In 1984 the Degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics with Thesis “Influence of Electron–Phonon Interaction on Conduction–Electron Transport at Low Temperatures” was conferred on him. In 1992 he was given a rank of Professor. Member of the Scientific Council on Problem “Electronic properties of conducting and superconducting systems”. Yu. N. Chiang is an author of more than 150 scientific works, among which 80 scientific articles and 2 inventions. The spheres of Yu. N. Chiang's scientific interests are transport phenomena in solid state, non–linear features in normal–metal conductivity, common and high–temperature superconductivity, quantum–interference phenomena in NS–systems, strongly electron correlations, spin-dependent electronic conductivity. In particular, he studied kinetic phenomena in normal metals (conduction–electron scattering under size effect conditions, at high magnetic fields, deformation, varying impurity concentration, etc.), investigated transmitted phonon–drag effect in metal sandwiches, experimentally revealed negative differential conductivity in a normal metal, observed the Bernoulli effect in superconducting Indium, discovered non–linear resistance of NS boundary, studied thermopower, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility of HTSC, proposed a way to study the spin-hall effect by electrical methods.

Dr. Kaustubh Priolkar is a Professor at the Department of Physics, Goa University. His current area of interest is Structure and Property correlation in Functional Materials using x-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectroscopy and neutron scattering. He is a recipient of the MRSI medal lecture award and also a Member of National Academy of Sciences of India, Allahabad. Since joining Goa University in 1999, he has developed in-house laboratory facilities for measurement of transport properties of solids at low temperatures. He is also involved in developing novel experiments for undergraduate and post-graduate Physics laboratories and conducting refresher courses in Experimental Physics for teachers and students on behalf of the three Science Academies of India.

Luca Persichetti obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Roma “Tor Vergata” in 2012. In 2013, he joined ETH-Zurich as a Marie Curie COFUND Fellow to explore the nanoscale magnetic properties of single atoms on surfaces as qubits. Starting from April 2018, LP is a Researcher at the Department of Sciences of Roma Tre University, where his main research activity is focused on the CVD synthesis and the structural/spectroscopic characterization of graphene on CMOS compatible substrates as well as on the growth of Group IV heterostructures for developing THz emitters, in particular Quantum Cascade Lasers.

I obtained my Bachelor and Ph.D degree in Physics from Zhejiang University China in year 2003 and 2008, respectively. I then worked as a Research Fellow at National University of Singapore from year 2008 to 2013. I have been a faculty member at Tongji University China since 2013and was tenured in 2018. My research focuses on the intersection of fundamental physics and nanoscale energy conversion, including nanoscale thermal transport, phononics, interfacial thermal resistance and thermoelectrics at nano-/micro- scale. Igor Lukačević has completed his PhD in 2009 at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in the field of high-pressure material science. He is currently the Assistant Professor at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia and carries out the duty of the Vice Head of Department of Physics for the scientific research activities. His newest interests are low-dimensional nano-materials and their applications in electronic, optical and green energy industry. He has over 20 publications that have been cited over 600 times, and his publication H-index is 10. He has been serving as a reviewer of several reputed journals.

Morten H. Christensen is a theoretical physicist working on strongly correlated electron systems and unconventional superconductors. He received his PhD from the Niels Bohr Institute in 2017 and spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota. He is currently working as a researcher at the Center for Quantum Devices at the Niels Bohr Institute, with a focus on topological aspects of the iron-based superconductors.

Prof. Anand is a Research Faculty at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, India. He worked as a postdoctoral fellowat Max-Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, Halle, Germany; ISIS Facility, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot UK;Ames National Laboratory, Ames, Iowa, USA, and thenin 2013 he joinedHelmholtz Zentrum Berlin fürMaterialien und Energie, Germany as a scientific staff. In 2019 he moved to SRM University, AP – Amravati, Indiawhere he served as an Associate Professor. For more than 15 years he has been working in the field of low temperature physics and has authored 76 peer-reviewed research articles.Hisresearch activities are focused on magnetism, superconductivity and strongly correlated electron properties. His research interests include quantum magnetism, unconventional superconductors, non-centrosymmetric superconductors, topological materials, frustrated magnetism (spin-glass, spin-ice and spin-liquid behavior), heavy fermion behavior, non-Fermi-liquid behavior, and quantum criticality. He is an expert in material synthesis/single crystal growth.

I never thought of whom I'd like to be, but all the ways lead to a scientific career: I graduated from high school in 2012 having won two all-Russian chemistry olympiads and continued my studies at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. In spring 2014 I occasionally started my research with Dr. Dmitry Svintsov, to whom I owe the greatest part of my scientific progress. Some time later in 2018 I happened to be an owner of BSc and MSc (with honors) in Applied Physics and Mathematics, and continued my studies on a Ph. D. program under the supervision of Dmitry. I am finishing my thesis now and during the work I am gradually coming to a thought that this guy (me) begins to understand something in physics.

Ramonna I. Kosheleva is a PhD candidate in Chemistry with focus on thermodynamics of gas adsorption. Mrs. Kosheleva is also research associate at Hephaestus Lab, operating material characterization equipment (SEM, XRD, SAXS, AFM, N2 porosimetry, FTIR etc.). During past five years, Mrs. Kosheleva has been conducting advanced material characterization techniques such as in-situ adsorption of vapors in conjunction with SAXS, gas adsorption measurements in conjunction with rotation and more. She specializes on carbon based materials and their adsorption performance of liquid and gas phase. From 2016, Mrs. Kosheleva has been published 6 papers, 4 book chapters and 2 review articles, while she has participated in more than 15 national and international conferences.

Mohammad Reza Rahimi Tabar is a Professor in the Physics Department of the Sharif University of Technology and published over 150 articles in scientific journals. He was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at Oldenburg and Bonn Universities, Mercator guest professor at Osnabrück University and an associate member of ICTP - International Centre for Theoretical Physics.

Dr. Valentin A. Levashov received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from the Novosibirsk State University, Russia, in 1997. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Michigan State University in 2004. From 2004 until 2014, he was Post. Doc. at the University of Tennessee. Since 2014 he works as a senior scientist at the Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering in Novosibirsk. His research for his Master’s thesis was related to the calculation of the electronic properties of fullerenes. During his Ph.D. (with M.F. Thorpe), he used Monte-Carlo and Molecular Dynamics modeling to study structural ordering and phase transitions. Besides, he studied the properties of the Pair Density Function in general. He has also developed techniques for accurate modeling of the Pair Density Functions for comparisons with high-precision experiments. His Post. Doctoral research (with T. Egami) was on the glass transition in metallic glass systems. In particular, his later Post. Doctoral studies focused on the non-local nature of viscosity. In particular, on the connection between viscosity and the propagation of shear waves. After returning to Novosibirsk, he continued, for a while, to study the connection between viscosity, structural relaxation, and the propagation of shear waves. His current research interest is in the accurate and detailed studies of the structural (orientational) changes in liquids on supercooling with the triple correlation function. Another direction is related to investigations of the degree of local structural similarities between the parent-liquid and children-crystal states.
