Prof. Rachid Yazami, is a native of Fez, Morocco and a graduate of the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG) electrochemistry and materials science where he also received a Ph.D. on graphite intercalation compounds for lithium battery application, and began his career and rose to research director at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) in Grenoble. Recently, after over 40 years in academic research, Prof. Yazami retired from the CNRS pursuing his career as entrepreneur. Yazami is the inventor involved in over 150 patents related to battery technology, including the graphite anode used in most commercial lithium-ion batteries an over $100b business. Dr. Yazami co-authored about 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and international meeting proceedings. Yazami served as a visiting associate in Materials Science and in Chemistry at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in collaboration with JPL/NASA together with being the President of the International Battery Association (IBA). His name appears in International Scientific Board of several lithium battery conferences and events. In 2010, Dr. Yazami joined the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore (NTU) where he held the Nanyang Visiting Professor in Materials Science position together with being a PI of battery research at the TUM Create Center of e-mobility, jointly managed by NTU and The Technological University of Munich. In recognition of his invention of the graphite anode in lithium-ion batteries, Yazami received several scientific awards, including from NASA, NATO, IBA, JSPS, Hawaii Battery Conference, the IEEE and the Draper Prize in 2014 considered as the Nobel Prize in Engineering. In 2014 Yazami was decorated by HM the King of Morocco. He is the recipient of the French Legion of Honor in 2016 and of the “2018’ Takreem Award” in Science and Technology Innovation considered the Arab Scientist of the Year Award. Recently Prof. Rachid was the recipient of the 2019’ Arab Investor Award during a Forum held in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris together with the Mohamed Bin Rached Medal of Scientific Distinguishment of Life achievement was given by the Ruler of Dubai in 2020.

Maurizio Prato was born in Lecce, Italy on October 11, 1953. Dr. Prato received his degree from the University of Padova, Italy in the Department of Organic Chemistry. He worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Padova from 1983-1992. Since 2000, he has been working as Professor at the University of Trieste. In 2002, he received National Prize for Research from the Italian Chemical Society. In 2008, he was the recipient of the ERC Advanced Research Grant from the European Research Council. In 2013, he was awarded Honorary Professorship at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China. In 2014, he received Laurea Honoris Causa in Science and Technology of Materials, University of Roma Tor Vergata. He has published more than 700 papers in international peer-reviewed Journals, with a total of around 60,000 citations and an h-index of 128 (Google Scholar) or 110 (Web of Science). Has been invited to more than 200 conferences and workshops in the last 10 years as a plenary or keynote speaker, and has given more than 50 invited talks in Universities or research centers all around the world.

Vladimir Torchilin got his M.S, Ph.D., and D.Sc. from the Moscow State University and serves currently a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He has published more than 450 papers, more than 200 reviews and book chapters, 13 books, and holds more than 40 patents. Google Scholar shows more than 73,000 citations of his papers with H-index of 121. He is Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies and Drug Delivery, Co-Editor of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and on the Editorial Boards of many journals. He received more than $30 M from the government and industry in research funding. He has multiple honors and awards and in 2011, Times Higher Education ranked him number 2 among top world scientists in pharmacology for the period of 2000-2010.

Len Gelman, Ph.D., Dr. of Sciences (Habilitation) joined Huddersfield University as a Professor, Chair in Signal Processing/Condition Monitoring and Director of Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering, in 2017 from Cranfield University, where he worked as Professor and Chair in Vibro-Acoustical Monitoring since 2002. Len developed novel condition monitoring technologies for aircraft engines, gearboxes, bearings, turbines, and centrifugal compressors. Len published more than 250 publications, 17 patents, and is Co-Editor of 12 Springer books. He is Fellow of: British Institute of NDT, International Association of Engineers and Institution of Diagnostic Engineers, Executive Director, International Society for Condition Monitoring, Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Engineering Sciences (SCMR), Chair, annual International Condition Monitoring Conferences, Honorary Co-Chair, annual World Congresses of Engineering, Co-Chair, International Congress COMADEM 2019 and Chair, International Scientific Committee of Third World Congress, Condition Monitoring. Huangxian Ju, born on Nov.10, 1964 in Jiangsu, is currently a professor at Nanjing University, the director of State Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, and vice-director of Modern Analytical Center of Nanjing University. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Nanjing University in 1986, 1989, and 1992, and then became a lecturer, associate professor, and professor at Nanjing University in 1992, 1993, and 1999, respectively. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Montreal University (Canada) from 1996-1997. He won the National Funds for National Distinguished Young Scholars in 2003 and was selected as a Changjiang Professor by the Education Ministry of China and a National Key Talent in The New Century in 2007 by China government, a chief scientist of the National Basic Research Program of China by MSTC in 2009, Fellows of the International Society of Electrochemistry and the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2015. The research interests of Professor Huangxian Ju include analytical biochemistry and nanobiosensing, focusing on signal amplification and life analytical chemistry. He has published 724 papers (669 papers in SCI journals, and 445 papers in journals with IF>5), and authored 26 patents, 4 English books, 7 Chinese books, 20 chapters for 11 Chinese and 9 English books, and 6 editorial, preface or book reviews. Up to October 18, 2020, his research works have 33076 citations in SCI journals (31815 by other authors) with an h-index of 93 (Google Scholar h-index 102 with 38131 citations). Gianfranco Pacchioni is Full Professor of Materials Chemistry at the University of Milano Bicocca where from 2013 till 2019 he has been Vice-Rector for Research. He received the degree in Chemistry at the University of Milano (1978) and the Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the Free University of Berlin (1984). He has been working at the IBM Almaden Research Center in California (1987) and at the Technical University of Munich (1993). Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Milano (1988). David Beljonne got his Ph.D. in Chemistry with Professor Jean-Luc Brédas at the University of Mons-Hainaut in 1994. After post-doctoral stays at the Universities of Cambridge (with Professor Richard Friend) and Rochester (with Professor Shaul Mukamel), he became a research fellow of the Belgian National Science Foundation (FNRS) and is now FNRS Research Director. He is also a Visiting Principal Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and serves as an associate editor for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. Co-author of about 450 scientific publications (more than 27000 citations; h index of 86, Scopus), his research activities deal with multifaceted modeling of the optoelectronic processes taking place in the bulk and at interfaces of (semi)conducting organic, 2D, and hybrid materials for electronics and energy applications. He is ranked at position 88 of the world 100 top Materials Scientists 2000-2010 (Thomson Reuters).

Professor Lau received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University, Australia) in 1996 and 1997, respectively. Within that period, he also worked for General Aviation Maintenance Pty Ltd, Australia, as an Engineer Trainee, and for the Corporative Research Centre for Advanced Composite Structures (CRC-ACS) Australia, as a Research Assistant designing a repair scheme for composite performs. Afterward, he received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2001. Thereafter, he was appointed Assistant Professor in 2002 and promoted to Associate Professor and Professor in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In 2015, he was appointed as Alex Wong/Gigi Wong Professor in Product Design Engineering and Associate Dean (Industrial Relation) in the Faculty of Engineering, PolyU. Currently, he is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Performance and Development) of Swinburne University of Technology, Australia to look after its future research and ranking strategies. Professor Lau has received numerous research and teaching awards since 2002. In 2016, he was elected as Fellow of the European Academy of Science and Arts. To date, only three academics in Australia have received this honor. His publications have received over 21,000 citations with an h-index of 68. Since 2014, he has been elected as International Vice President of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and appointed as Independent Non-executive Director of Kingsflair International (Holdings) Limited. Dr. Lau was named Australian Research Theme Leader in “Composite Materials” in 2019.

Prof. Jinlian HU is a smart polymer and textile materials scientist. Graduated with an MPhil from Donghua University in textile materials and received a Ph.D. from Manchester University, she recently joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong where she established a Laboratory of Wearable Materials for Healthcare. The laboratory focuses on unearthing scientific principles and providing solutions to key problems in Healthcare of Wearable Materials in three major areas: Traditional Chinese medical therapies and their materials, energy materials and healthcare, spider silks, and their relatives as biomaterials as well as personal protective integration. As such, we apply advanced methods including custom-made wearable electronics as basic tools to examine materials, their application methods, and particularly their interactions with the human body in terms of physical, chemical, biological, philological, and informational relations. From the discoveries and models of basic research, applied investigation, product developments, and standardization are envisaged, which can produce societal as well as economic impact in addition to scientific advances. Before CityU, professor Hu worked at Hong Kong Polytechnic University for more than 20 years. Professor Jinlian Hu is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel, and the British Textile Institute. She is the founding chairman of the Hong Kong Health Science and Technology Park, the executive vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Invention and Innovation Federation, and a Council member of the Hong Kong Far Infrared Association

Appointed University Lecturer in the Electronic Engineering department at UCL in 1989, following his tenure at the University of Oxford as the Royal Society Eliz. Challenor Research Fellow (1986-89). At UCL, Jackman's interest in electronic materials led him to initiate a new activity, the Diamond Electronics Group (DEG), investigating the then-emerging topic of the diamond as a semiconductor. The group enjoys an international reputation, producing some of the first commercially viable diamond-based electronic devices worldwide; Professor Jackman holds the UCL Chair in Electronic Devices. Jackman's team is based in the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN) at UCL. Jackman has attracted funding from the UK's EPSRC, the EU (FW4,5,6 and 7, Horizon 2020), and in particular major the UK and multinational industries. He has published over 250 journal papers and given more than 100 invited talks at major international conferences.

Dr. Qiang is a full professor of physics and professor in the Nuclear Engineering Program at the University of Idaho, US. He is the chairman of Idaho Academy of Science and Engineering and the director of Nanophysics and Nanomaterials Laboratory. He received his MS degree in 1985 at the Harbin Institute of Technology and Ph.D. degree in1997 at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Dr. Qiang’s research focuses on magnetism and magnetic nanomaterials. He has studied magnetic nanoparticles and nanocomposites for more than 30 years, including synthesis of monodispersive nanoclusters and nanocluster-assembled composites; characterization of magnetic and optical properties as well as transport properties by conductivity, optics, susceptibility, and theoretical investigation. He applies magnetic nanomaterials in energy, environmental and biomedical nanoscience, and nanotechnology. Presently Dr. Qiang’s research interests are a) Nano-Nuclear Technology and magnetic separation nanotechnology for used nuclear fuel recycling; b) High-temperature ferromagnetism and giant magnetoresistance of semiconductor oxide nanomaterials for spintronics; and c) Iron-based magnetic nanoparticles for cancer treatment and environmental remediation.

Prof. Shouxun Ji is currently a Professor at Brunel University London. He has been focusing on the development of lightweight materials and structures for the automotive industry, aerospace, power tools, and other sectors. The main activities include purpose-developed aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys with improved ductility, strength (at ambiance and elevated temperatures), modulus and thermal conductivity, and the hybrid structures using different materials and different joining techniques. He is also working on new materials and structures for special applications, such as materials for explosive cords and high strength casting materials for aircraft. Recently, he worked with a world-leading company to develop magnesium alloys for engine application, which requires improved strength and thermal conductivity at room temperature and elevated temperatures. Prof. Ji has plenty of experiences in high pressure die casting and other shaped-casting processes. He also has experience in semi-solid metal processing of rheo-die casting and rheo-extrusion. His previous works also included cast irons (spheroidal graphite cast iron and austempered ductile iron) and copper alloys. Prof. Ji has published more than 140 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and more than 20 international patents. He is a member of three ISO technical committees and one BSI technical committee and the editorial member of three scientific journals. He received the innovation award from CMF UK in 2017.

Prof. Dr. Ilaria Cacciotti is a Professor of Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering and Materials Science and Technology at the University of Rome "Niccolò Cusano", with consolidated expertise in the synthesis and characterization of (bio)materials and eco-sustainable systems. She is a Member of the Research and Projects Committee and Erasmus+ Coordinator for Engineering Area. She graduated in Medical Engineering at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (Master of Science Award ‘Fondazione Raeli’). Afterward, she completed a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering (Ph.D. Thesis Award ‘Marco Ramoni 2011, Ph.D. Thesis AIMAT Award 2012) and she obtained the II Level Master degrees in “Forensic Genetics” and in "Protection against CBRNe events". She is an expert in the synthesis, processing, and characterization of biocompatible nanostructured materials, particularly for applications in the biomedical, environmental, and agri-food sectors, including bioceramics (undoped and doped calcium phosphates, bioactive glasses), biopolymers, and composites. Dr Christian Puttlitz is a Professor and Department Head of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University. He also serves as the Director of the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory (OBRL). The OBRL investigates orthopaedic conditions in the normal, diseased and treated conditions using computational, experimental, and animal models. In this talk, Dr Puttlitz will describe his lab’s efforts to create 3D printed scaffolds for intervertebral disc herniation repair. This work includes a computational component that uses mechanobiological criteria to predict fibrocartilage generation as a function of the scaffold architecture. Dr Puttlitz received his PhD as the University of Iowa in 1999 and served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco before joining the faculty in Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF in 2001. He joined the faculty of mechanical engineering at Colorado State University in 2005.

Dr. Amir H. Alavi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Alavi’s research interests include structural health monitoring, multifunctional structures, deployment of advanced sensors, low-power energy harvesting, and engineering informatics. He is the director of Pitt’s Intelligent Structural Monitoring and Response Testing (iSMaRT) Laboratory which focuses on advancing the knowledge and technology required to create self-sustained and multifunctional sensing and structural systems. His research activities involve the implementation of these systems enhanced by engineering informatics in the fields of civil infrastructure, construction, aerospace, and biomedical engineering. Dr. Alavi has worked on research projects supported by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), Pennsylvania DOT, Missouri DOT, and Michigan DOT. Dr. Alavi has authored seven books and over 200 publications in archival journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He has received a number of award certificates for his journal articles. He is among the Google Scholar 200 Most Cited Authors in Civil Engineering, as well as Web of Science ESI's World Top 1% Scientific Minds in 2018. Dr. Alavi is also on the Stanford University list of the World’s Top 1% Scientists in 2020.

Prof. Ester Vázquez obtained her Ph.D. degree from the University of Castilla-la Mancha (UCLM) in 2000. After carrying out her postdoctoral training in Trieste, Italy, she joined the Faculty of Chemistry at UCLM, where she was promoted to full professor in 2019. In 2007 she received the “Ibn Wafid de Toledo“ award for young researchers of Castilla-La Mancha. In April 2017 she became Director of the Institute for Applied Scientific Research (IRICA) at UCLM. Her scientific interests focus on the synthesis, functionalization, and applications of carbon nanostructures using non-conventional methodologies, especially microwave radiations and ball milling techniques. Her group succeeded in the preparation of stable suspensions of graphene in water, which has allowed the biological exploration of this form of carbon under physiological conditions and the preparation of smart gels for applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and soft robotics. She collaborates with industrial partners and numerous European groups within the framework of the Graphene Flagship project.

Dr. Jieshan Qiu is Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), China, and Dean of Chemical Engineering College at BUCT. He is internationally-recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering and carbon science. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published over 700 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Commun., Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Joule, Matter, Nano Today, etc., with a citation over 30900 times and an H-index of 86 (web of sci.). He has a strong record of innovation-with over 140 Chinese and International patents issued. He has served as Associate Editor of three international journals for years, including Carbon, FlatChem, and ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.

Hendrik Heinz is an Associate Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His research focuses on the simulation of biomaterials and nanomaterials from the nanoscale to the microscale, including catalysis, biomineralization, hydrogels, polymer materials, and corrosion. He develops the Interface force field and a surface model database for the simulation of compounds across the periodic table with high accuracy. He explores new chemiomics and materiomics approaches for reactivity predictions and AI-accelerated materials design. He holds a Ph.D. degree from ETH Zurich in Materials Science and Engineering, an M.S. degree in chemistry, and did postdoctoral work at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Ohio. He is an Associate Editor for the CNRS-owned New Journal of Chemistry, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), and held guest professorships at ETH Zurich, NIMS (Japan), and Université de Paris (France). Honors include a Special Creativity and a Career Award from the U. S. National Science Foundation, the Sandmeyer Award from the Swiss Chemical Society, the Max Hey Medal from the Mineralogical Society, the Giovanni Novelli Prize from the Italian Clay Minerals Society, as well as the Hewlett-Packard Outstanding Junior Faculty Award from the American Chemical Society.

Shadi Nazarian is an Associate Professor at the Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, at The Pennsylvania State University. She, together with her interdisciplinary team has achieved novel material interfaces, namely seamless graded transitions between the glass and engineered composites of compatible ceramics such as ceramized geopolymer concrete to create the structural, insulative, and optical capacity to meet functional requirements, while avoiding the use of numerous materials, mechanical frames. The proposed innovation makes possible novel sustainable practices in production processes and in building performance (i.e., less embodied and operational energy); presents an original and effective solution for building in harsh weather where impermeability between and through surface materials is required; encourages streamlined production and the use of geopolymer composites in the building industry, where the multiple advantages of geopolymer cement over Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) is most obvious. Nazarian and her team are involved in several parallels and interrelated areas of research including the design and development of sustainable 3D printable materials, printing systems, and the use of BIM as a framework to explore the interrelationship between numerous aspects and variables in 3D-printing technologies and architectural design. The team has earned numerous awards and grants in support of their research, most recent awards from NASA’s international multi-phase 3D-Printed Habitat challenge competition; Autodesk; Penn state’s Institute of Energy and Environment (PSIEE) and the Material Research Institute (MRI), and Bowers Funds for Excellence in Design and Construction of the Built Environment.

Dr. Changsong Xu obtained his bachelor's degree (physics) in 2011 at Lanzhou University, China, and completed his Ph.D. (condensed matter physics) in 2016 at Tsinghua University, China. He is now a research assistant professor at the physics department of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, US. Dr. Xu's researches focus on multiferroics and topological magnetism, ranging among skyrmionics, BKT phases, and quantum spin liquids, using methods of first principles and effective Hamiltonians.

Shehrin Sayed is a postdoctoral researcher in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, in the University of California, Berkeley and Materials Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received a Ph.D. in 2018 and M.Sc. in 2013 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University. His research interests include non-volatile memory, magnetism & spintronics, and emerging quantum materials. His research has been recognized with the 2018 Dimitris N. Chorafas award, characterized by its high potential for practical applications.

May L Martin is a Materials Research Engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, United States. She received her B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University in 2005, and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, she was an Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral research fellow at the Georg August University of Göttingen, Germany. Her research focuses on understanding the fracture processes of metals, especially under conditions of environmental degradation such as hydrogen embrittlement.

Dr. Saja Al-Ajrashis a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for the University of Dayton, Chemical and Materials Engineering. Her research focus is additive manufacturing of ceramic matrix composites. This involves the synthesis, processing, and characterization of hybrid ceramic materials. Her Ph.D. research at the University of Dayton was mainly about utilizing an innovative process to fabricate hybrid carbon-silicon carbide fibers. The process involves modifying the carbon fiber precursor by doping it with silicon-based materials. Only during her Ph.D., she published more than 5 publications and present at many prestigious conferences. In addition, she has experience in friction stir welding of aluminum 5000 series similar joints and aluminum/ copper dissimilar joints. Dr. Al-Ajrash has served as a peer reviewer for many domestic and international journals.

Dr. Jagoda Sławińska obtained her MSc. (2008) and Ph.D. (2012) degrees in Physics from University of Łódź (Poland). Her doctoral dissertation ‘Electronic properties of graphene-based interfaces’ received a prestigious Prime Minister Award in 2013. Afterward, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Spanish National Research Council (ICMM-CSIC, 2013-2016), Italian National Research Council (CNR-SPIN, 2016-2018), and the University of North Texas (Department of Physics, 2018-2020). In September 2020, she started a Rosalind Franklin Fellowship in Theory of Condensed Matter at the University of Groningen. Her scientific interests are focused on computational materials science, aiming at modeling, design, and understanding of novel quantum materials for nanoelectronics and spintronics. A large part of her research is strongly linked to experimental investigations performed by collaborators throughout the world.

Silvia Spriano was born on 9th October 1969 at Turin, Italy. She is currently working as an Associate Professor at Dipartimento di Scienza Applicata e Tecnologia (DISAT Dep.), Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. She completed her Master Degree from Università degli Studi di Torino in the year 1993. She completed her PhD on Metallurgical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in the year 1997. She worked as a Junior Lecturer at DISAT - Politecnico di Torino from 2006 – 2008. She worked as a Senior Lecturer at DISAT - Politecnico di Torino from 2008 – 2016. Her research activities include the topics on Surface modification and characterization of metallic alloys for biomedical applications, Bioactivity, Atoxic matrices for diamond tools, Surfaces for enhanced osteointegration ability, Low friction composite materials with graphene/nano-graphite, and many more. She has published 95 documents and has 1650 citations. Her H-index is 23(2019).

Dr. Ke Zhang is a research assistant professor at Helmholtz institute and Mainz University in Germany. She obtained her bachelor's degree (physics) in 2014 at Physics Base Class of Shanxi University in China and completed her Ph.D. (condensed matter physics) in 2019 at Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics in China. Her research interest focuses on precision measurement based on the atomic ensemble. In her Ph.D. period, she studied atomic magnetometers and nuclear magnetic resonance gyroscope. During the postdoc time, she used the resonance ionization spectroscopy technique to discover the two lowest odd-parity levels of actinium, published in Physic Review Letter. She has published eight SCI academic papers so far. She is funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Germany Research Foundation), and has participated in national and provincial scientific research projects many times. She has obtained the "National Inspirational Scholarship", "Shanxi University Innovation Challenge Cup Second Prize", "Shanxi University College Scholarship First Prize Multiple", " Excellent Student First Class Scholarship of China Academy of Engineering Physics" and " Outstanding Graduates of China Academy of Engineering Physics". There are a total of more than 20 various honor awards for her.

Daniel F. Reyes graduated in Physics from the University of Córdoba (2009). He later completed a Master of Science (2011) and Chemical Technology and obtained a PhD degree (2014) at the University of Cadiz, where he is an associate professor in the Materials Science group. He obtained the PhD award granted by the University of Cadiz (2017). Over the years, my research studies have focused on the characterization of materials by transmission electron microscopy techniques, using state-of-the-art microscopes with double aberration correction. I especially analyze the structural properties of nanostructures based on III-V semiconductors with N, BI, Sb and/or Al. Initially, he focused on the study of quantum dots and superlattices for the manufacture of lasers in telecommunications. Currently, his motivation has expanded, and he is now studying mainly III-V alloys for solar cells, and more recently, diamond samples for power devices. He has co-authored over 50 publications, 39 of which are indexed in JCR.

In 2006, Dr. Maria Antonia Herrero Chamorro obtained the European Ph.D. degree in the UCLM. Her first postdoctoral stay (granted by JCCM) was performed at the University of Graz (Austria) under the supervision of Prof. O. Kappe with the aim of the achievement of a comprehensive and well-design study of the “microwave effect” (published a JOC paper, highly cited). Her second Postdoctoral stay (granted by JCCM) was performed under the supervision of Prof. M. Prato at the University of Trieste on the design of new nanomaterials for application in medicinal chemistry and/or material science. During this second postdoctoral stay, she maintained an active collaboration with the MSOC Nanochemistry group in the UCLM and once she had ended this postdoctoral stay, she joined this group, which uses microwave radiations for the activation of carbon nanostructures in solvent-free conditions, preparing multifunctional derivatives that can serve as versatile synthons in materials science and biological applications. She has authored over 58 scientific publications (H=25), some book chapters, and four scientific patents. She has participated in several international conferences with oral communications and poster presentations. In 2010 she received the award “women for science“ by L'Oreal-UNESCO and in 2011 “Ibn Wafid de Toledo“ Price for young researchers of Castilla-La Mancha. She was selected as “Ramon y Cajal” in 2010. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011. Recently, she obtained funding as the principal researcher for the integration of carbon nanomaterials in solar cells and the design of new SERS systems based on CNHs by Iberdrola Fundation and the “Excma. Diputacion de Ciudad Real”, respectively. She is also involved in the prestigious Graphene European Project granted to the MSOC Nanochemistry group. In November of 2018, she was elected as President of the RSEQ of the CLM.

Qijie Liang received his Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore. His research interests focus on two-dimensional materials and devices, defect engineering, and novel energy conversion devices.

Zhendong Dai, Professor, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). He obtained his education degrees in NUAA in 1983, 1986, and 1999 respectively. He interests in the research of biomimetics, including animal locomotion simulation, dynamics and reaction force, adhesive materials, and gecko mimicking robots.

Professor Xiaobin Chen earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. at Central South University. His Ph. D. in Road & Railway Engineering has shaped his background on railway infrastructures. During his first four-year career, Chen observed two post-doctoral positions on the research topics of geotechnical engineering. From 2014 to 2015, Dr. Chen moved into the Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Transportation geotechnics, coarse-grained granular soil, and DEM simulation were his research topics as a hardworking visiting scholar. To deepen his expertise on coarse-grained granular soil, he shifted into a distinguished group at Civil and Environmental Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, as a visiting professor again in 2020. Investing in more than 20 years, he has accumulated knowledge for his geotechnical engineering career. After gaining knowledge on transportation geotechnics, he lifted from the back seat to the front to help others how to learn. He joined the Department of Geotechnical Engineering at the Central South University's School of Civil Engineering. With the dedication of teaching, Dr. Chen has released graduate courses in advanced geotechnical techniques for in-site investigation, as well as undergraduate courses in soil mechanics and engineering geology. He is now supervising the Ph.D. candidate students and M.S. graduate students in a 17-talent group. Dr. Chen has served as a principal investigator on 45 research projects with grants received from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Railway Corporation, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, Department of Transportation of Hunan Province, et al. He has many fingers in railway transportation geotechnics and likes to keep his research interests on the coarse-grained granular soil, DEM numerical methods, and soil dynamics. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed journal papers, and he has also served as the peer-reviewer for several academic journals including ASCE Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Geotextiles and Geomembranes, Geotechnical Testing Journal, Journal of Transportation Research Record, Transportation Geotechnics, and et al. Dr. Chen's name has been printed three times on government awarded medals for science and technology progress, i.e., the second class award from the Guangdong provincial government, the second class award from the Guangzhou government, and the third class award from Hunan province government. Consequently, he was promoted as a full professor in 2017 and as the department head of geotechnical engineering in 2019. Dr. Chen ties concretely to the ISSMGE as a committee member, and he is also an active affiliate of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) serving the AFP70 for years. Invitation as a committee member of the World Transportation Conference (WTC) is his obligation in 2016. Not everyone knows that Dr. Chen shares his passions for coworking with international professors who show different values and cultures.

Dr. Wang received his BSc and MSc degrees from Tongji University, China, and his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wang has developed his main expertise in the field of micromechanics of granular soils. His research aims to explore the multiscale physics and mechanics underlying the macroscopic soil behavior using the discrete element method (DEM) simulation and X-ray computed tomography (CT). His works over the past 16 years include the X-ray CT characterization of microstructures and micro-morphologies of geomaterials, and the DEM modeling and analysis of fundamental soil behaviors of crushable sands and their applications in various kinds of geotechnical engineering problems such as pile foundation, slope stability, and retaining structures, etc. Dr. Wang's work has been awarded prestigious international prizes including the 2011 Geotechnical Research Medal (UK Institution of Civil Engineers) and the 2010 Higher Education Institutions Outstanding Research Award - Natural Science Award (the Ministry of Education of China). So far Dr. Wang has authored and co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications including 70 SCI journal papers and over 60 international conference papers.

Dr. Junshi Zhang is currently working as a professor at School Of Aeronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China. He completed his PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in 2016. He worked as a Senior Research Associate at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong from 2012 to 2018. He was a Research Fellow at the University of Electro-Communication in 2019. He has Co-authored 30+ books and journals.

Muhammad Saeed received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Engineering Physics, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2017. His Ph.D. research was focused on Thermal hydraulics and safety analysis using different CFD codes. Then he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the “Institute for Advanced Study”, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. He is currently working as an “Associate Professor” at the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering, East China University of Technology, Nanchang, China. He has won the “Chinese Government Scholarship” for his Ph.D. in 2013 and “Distinguish Chinese Postdoctoral Fellowship” for his postdoc in 2017. He has presented his research at International conference on nuclear energy in 2016 and 2017 held in the USA and China, respectively.

Samikannu Prabu is currently working as a Postdoc Research Fellow at the Department of Environmental Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan. He completed his Ph.D. from Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. His research interests are Material Chemistry, Functional Nanomaterials, and Bio-energy Production, Energy from waste and energy conversion methods, Green Material Production, Hazardous-Waste Water Treatment. He has published 13 Scientific Papers in SCI Journals.

Dr. Konstantine Nadaraia is a senior researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Chemistry FEB RAS) and an associate professor at the Far Eastern Federal University. The area of research interests of K. Nadaraia is the development of modern methods of surface modification of non-ferrous metals and alloys. The research team of the Department of Electrochemical Systems and Surface Modification Processes of Institute of Chemistry FEB RAS, of which K. Nadaraia is a member, have developed composite polymer-containing layers with a number of functionally significant characteristics, such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, antifriction properties, and low wettability. The application of composite coatings on the surface of alloys of such metals as magnesium, aluminum, and titanium allows increasing corrosion resistance, reducing wear, giving the surface superhydrophobic properties.

Dr. Fahrettin Ozturk is currently Executive Vice President at Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Ozturk received all his degrees in Mechanical Engineering. His undergraduate degree from Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey in 1992 (ranked first), M.Sc. from University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA in 1996, and Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA in 2002. Dr. Ozturk worked as a part-time contractor for the General Electric Research Center in the USA for 3 years. He has performed consulting services and projects for the Automotive and Aerospace Industries in Turkey since 2003. Dr. Ozturk worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Nigde Omer Halisdemir University (formerly Nigde University), and Khalifa University (formerly The Petroleum Institute (PI)) prior to Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. His primary research interests are in Sheet Metal Forming, Materials Processing, Materials Characterizations, Lightweight Materials, Thermoplastic Composite Materials, and Mechanically Sleeved CRA Pipes. He is a professor and researcher at the Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo and graduated in electromechanical engineering (2014) and a Master of Industrial energy management (2018) from the Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano, Medellin. Currently, He is a Ph.D. student, and his interests are nanofluids for energy management (especially heat pipes), nano fuel for clean combustion and performance, and diesel and Otto engines.

Ricardo Andres Solano Pizarro was born on 11 November 1994, Barranquilla (Colombia). He did Chemical Engineer at the University of Atlántico (Barranquilla, Colombia), with a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cartagena (Cartagena, Colombia) and expertise in synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials as TiO2, ZnO, SiO2, F3O4and CoF2O4 for application in the elimination of organic emergent pollutants such as heavy metals and pesticides. In addition, I have developed research projects focused on the preparation of biodegradable packaging based on biopolymers. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering affiliated with the University of Cartagena in the nanomaterials and Computer-Aided Process Engineering Research Group.

Mohsen Khodadadi Yazdi is an experienced chemical/polymer engineer who received his BSc degree (chemical engineering) from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, followed by an MSc (2010) from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. He is currently a researcher at the Center of Excellence in Electrochemistry, University of Tehran. His research interests include smart hydrogel/biopolymers, carbon-based nanomaterial, and conducting polymers.

Dr. Noorfaizal Yidris is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aerospace Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr. Yidris possess a Ph.D. degree in Structural Instability from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He has teaching experiences in engineering materials, structural designs, structural analysis, and engineering mechanics. His current research interests are on thin-walled structures, finite element modeling, and analysis, composites, damage tolerance analysis including creep rupture analysis and fatigue analysis. His current research projects are the development of finite element modeling strategies and solution procedures of press-braking processes, cyclic loading of aerospace stiffened panels, and quad tower composite cross-arms for electrical transmission lines. For the past few years, Dr. Yidris was actively involved in research projects which involve the prototype development of a motorized adjustable vertical platform for satellite assembly, integration, and test facility.

Dr. Rajkumar Velu is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu. Priorly he worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Laser Aided Intelligent Manufacturing (CLAIM), University of Michigan, USA. Also, worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Centre (DManD), Singapore University of Technology and Design. He completed his Ph.D. thesis at the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand in the field of selective laser sintering of specific biopolymer composites. As a result, he has considerable insights and knowledge on different polymer and polymer composite materials specifically used for additive manufacturing. He also has substantial experience in material and component characterization that target specific responses, the evaluation of the complex thermomechanical aspects of powder bed processing, extrusion processing, and post-mortem studies for both mechanical and biological attributes. More than 20 publications were generated from his research activities and received the young scientist award. Dr. Velu’s research interest encompasses a holistic approach that incorporates the design, model, and development of additive manufacturing processes adopting various composite materials for high-value applications such as the medical and aerospace industry.

Dr. Vipin Kumar is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Centre for Energy Studies (CES), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He received his doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. He worked as a research fellow for over two years at NTU Singapore, where, he developed Nanowires-based gas sensor devices, and scaled-up this technology with GDS Instruments Pvt. Ltd., Singapore. He has gone through the Lean Launchpad (LLP) program, which is an exercise to bring lab-based research at the technology forefront, at NUS Singapore. He was awarded Inspire Faculty Award from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), India in 2017. To further excel in his career, he moved to the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore in 2017, and worked as a Scientist-I for nearly two years on Metal-anode batteries. Prior to joining IIT Delhi, he worked with IIT Bhubaneswar as an Assistant Professor in the School of Basic Sciences (SBS). He has contributed to various research projects, including electrochemical energy storage using carbon and oxide-nanomaterials, miniaturized gas sensor devices, and alkali metal anodes for high-performance post-Li ion batteries.
