Marc A. Rosen is a Professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, Canada, where he served as founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Dr. Rosen was President of the Engineering Institute of Canada. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of several journals and as a Director of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation. With over 60 research grants and contracts and 800 publications, Dr. Rosen is an active teacher and researcher in sustainable energy, environmental impact, and energy technology (including renewable energy and efficiency improvement). Much of his research has been carried out for industry, and he has written numerous books. Dr. Rosen has worked for such organizations as Imatra Power Company in Finland, Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago, and the Institute for Hydrogen Systems near Toronto. Dr. Rosen has received numerous awards and honors, and is a fellow of several societies and organizations.

Prof. Dr. Anton Hartmann studied biochemistry(Dipl. biochem.) at University of Tuebingen, Germany,and gothis doctoral degree at the Institute of Microbiology in 1979. He was assistant professor at University of Bayreuth (genetic department), than postdoc at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, in Prof. R.H. Burris‘ laboratory on regulation of nitrogen fixation in Azospirillum. Back in Bayreuth, he joined the microbial department and got the university teaching degree (Habilitation) in 1989. In 1989 he joined Helmholtz Zentrum Munich (GSF-Munich), Institute of Soil Ecology, where he was deputy director and leader of there search group „Molecular microbial ecology of rhizosphere bacteria“. Since 1990 he was Privatdozent andlaterapl. Professor for Soil Microbiology and Microbe-Plant-Interactions at Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) Munich.In 2002 he became head of the Research Unit „Rhizosphere Biology“, and later of the independant Research Unit „Microbe-Host Interactions“ at Helmholtz Zentrum Munich.Dr. Hartmann´s research applied since 40 years molecular microbial ecology approaches and studied biological nitrogen fixation of root associated bacteria, especially on Azospirillumspp.. Furthermore, his group and research associates identified 12 new species of diazotrophic bacteria associated with diverse cropplants. In the last 20 years he focused on effects of quorum sensingsignals of N-acyl-homo serinel act ones (AHL) type of root associated Gram-negative bacteria on plants. In 2007, he and his research associates received the Schrödinger Research Award“ of the german science board. Dr. Hartmann published 186 research publications and 57 contributions tobooks. He organized several national and international research conferences, for example the first International „Rhizosphere Conference“ in Munich in 2004, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Munich Professor Hiltner´sdefinition of the,Rhizosphere“. Prof. Hartmann retired in 2015 from Helmholtz Zentrum Munichandis still activeasem. Professor of LMU Munich.

Antonio Apicella, is Full professor of Materials Science and Technology, Head of the Advanced Material Lab and former Director of the Design Schools and of the One year International Master in Design Driven Sustainable Innovation at the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the University of Campania, Italy.He is carrying out his own base and industrial research activities in the field of the Engineering, Aerospace materials, Advanced Materials, Sustainable Development, hybrid materials, Polymertechnology, biomaterials. Prof. Apicella is author of more than 300 articles, more than 200 full papers published in peer-reviewed international and national conferences proceedings, 2 patents, 1 book and 10 books’ chapters.

Professor Ivaldo Itabaiana Junior is graduated in Pharmacy and obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he is now Associate professor. He has postdoc and huge experience in biocatalysis, biotransformation and molecular biology for the valorization of residual biomass on the production of high-added value compounds of industrial interests. Since 2017 prof Ivaldo Itabaiana develops extensive collaboration with CNRS Lille, France working on the construction of a new concept of hybrid catalysis for the transformation of biomass residues, such as pyrolysis oils, lignin and microbial hydrolysis derivatives into biossurfactants, antimicrobial agents and new immobilization matrices and new materials for drug delivery. His research interests are biocatalysis, enzymatic biotechnology for enzymes transformation (lipases, oxidoreductases, laccases), enzyme immobilization and drug delivery. He has advised quite undergraduate, master and PhD students, has published 45 papers (H index 13), 3 books and chapters, 2 patents and received some prizes, such as best PhD thesis on Pharmaceutical Sciences, Young Scientist and second best Brazilian Thesis (2013).

Rui Bernardes, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC), is a member of the executive board of CIBIT (Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research) and of the scientific council of ICNAS (Institute of Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health, University of Coimbra). Previously, he was the coordinator of the research line "Image Processing, Functional Imaging and Phenotyping of Complex Diseases" at IBILI (Institute for Biomedical Research in Light and Image at FMUC) and adviser to the board of directors at FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia). He also served as section secretary and technical adviser for the IEEE-EMBS Portuguese Chapter, was a member of the scientific council for the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research, University of Coimbra (IIIUC) and consultant for Alcon Research Institute (Texas, USA). Keynote speaker at the XV Mediterranean Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing (MEDICON) and committee member for ten national and international conferences. Principal investigator (PI) in six research projects, co-PI in another two, and team member in 20 research projects, all of them with national or international competitive funding, and one industry-funded research project. Editor of one book, author of five full chapters and six sections of book chapters, over 40 journal papers. Supervisor of postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, and under graduated students. He had organized and co-organized several national conferences and meetings, international sessions, special interest symposia and courses at several international conferences. He reviews for several international journals, national and international conferences and international funding agencies.

Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors. In 1980, graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University and was awarded with MD. In 1985, maintained his PhD as a PhD student of the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2001, maintained his Doctor Degree at the National Institute of Immunology, Russia. From 1985 through 1987, worked as a Post Doc Research Associate, for Institute of Medical Enzymology; from 1987 through 1989, was a Senior Research Associate, Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology, USSR Academy of Sciences. From 1989 through 1995, was a Head of the Lab of Immunology and Immunobiotechnology, Helmholtz Eye Research Institute in Moscow. In 1989, trained at the Lab of Immunology, NEI, Bethesda, MD, USA,, NIH and Lab of Immunology, Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA, as well as at some of the British Universities on the invitation of the Royal Society for Immunology. From 1995 through 2004, was a Director of the Dept for Immunology, Moscow Clinical Research Institute (MONIKI). In 1993-1996, was an Executice Secretary-in-Chief of the Editorial Board, Biomedical Science, an international journal published jointly by the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.

Prof. Evgen Prokhorov received his PhD degree from Odessa State University (Ukraine) in 1979. In 1990, he was promoted to Heard of Department at Institute of Mechanic of Ukraine Academy of Science. Since 1998 he works at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Mexico) as research Professor at Material Science Department. The current focus of his research is on nanocomposites comprising polymers with conductivity and dielectric inorganic nanoparticles, characterization their structure and electrical properties. Besides, he is interested in the application of nanocomposites for biomedical applications. Prof. Evgen Prokhorov is author more than 150 articles, more than 60 full papers published in peer-reviewed international and national conferences proceedings, 11 patents, 2 books and 8 books’ chapters. He participated as the director more than in 20 national and international scientific projects.

Vakhtang Barbakadze has his expertise in isolation and structure elucidation of a new series of plant polyethers, which are endowed with pharmacological properties as immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antiinflammatory, wound-healing and anti-cancer agents. Besides, he interested in enantioselective synthesis and biological activities of basic monomeric moiety of these biopolyethers, synthesis of enantiomerically pure epoxides as chiral building blocks for the production of synthetic analogues of natural polyethers by chemical and enzymetic catalysis. He has received PhD degree in Chemistry and DSci degree in Biology in 1978 and 1999 from Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, Russia and Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Tbilisi, Georgia, respectively. He is Head of the Department of Plant Biopolymers and Chemical Modification of Natural Compounds at Tbilisi State Medical University I.Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry. In 1996 and 2002 he has been a visiting scientist at Utrecht University, Departments of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Chemistry, Utrecht, The Netherlands, by University Scholarship and The Netherlands organization for scientific research (NWO) Scholarship Scientific Program, respectively. He is also an organizing committee member and renowned speaker for many reputed scientific conferences. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals. In 2004 he was Georgian State Prize Winner in Science and Technology.

Nobuo Shimamoto is an emeritus professor of National Institute of Genetics, Japan and Sokendai University. He got PhD from Kyoto University, spending postgraduate period at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Dr. Ken Wu. He had a lab in Hiroshima University and then National Institute of Genetics (Sokedai), where he got a full professorship. He moved to Kyoto-Sangyo University and then to Horiba Co. Ltd. He has been studying transcription regulation focusing on temporal behavior. In 1993, he provided the earliest evidence for protein sliding along DNA by single-molecule analysis. He recently proposed the chemical ratchet mechanism that makes a regulator protein to bind to its operator with an affinity dependent on the sliding distance, namely the antenna effect. By this mechanism, two different regulator proteins can cross-talk through their distant operators.

Yoshikazu Ohya is currently a professor in the Department of Integrated Biosciences, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo. He had studied molecular biology of the budding yeast S. cerevisiae since 1982. He has also developed an image processing system CalMorph specialized for yeast and has conducted leading research on bioimaging field. CalMorph is a system that analyzes the yeast cell morphology with a fluorescence microscopic images after staining the cell wall, acting cytoskeleton, and nuclear DNA of yeast cells. By applying basic machine learning technique with statistical model, it is possible to precisely analyze the yeast morphology. In general, his research group aims to study morphological phenotyping of the budding yeast from the viewpoints of system biology, genetics, cell biology, biotechnology and drug discovery. He has recently developed a high-throughput platform for yeast morphological profiling to predict drug target. Several anti-fungal agents have been investigated with this system.

Benoît Schoefs, plant physiologist, graduated from the Botanical Department, University of Liège (Belgium) in 1994. He worked for the University of Liège (1994-96), the South Bohemia University 1996-2000, the CNRS 2000-03. Professor (tenure) in Plant Physiology at the University of Dijon (France, 2003-11), he joined Le Mans University in September 2011 (France). He is the leader of the research group ‘Metabolism, Molecular Engineering of Microalgae and Applications’ At present, he has published more than 90 papers in international journals and monographies. He served as editor for books and special issues. He is a member of the editorial board of Frontiers in Plant Science, Marine Drugs, Communicative and Integrative Biology and Botany Letters. In addition to the Prize ‘D. Clos’ from the Academy of Sciences of Toulouse (France, 1998) for his PhD work, he won in 1998 the annual scientific competition organized by the Belgian Academy of Science for his work on pigment biosynthesis. His research is focuses on the physiological (photosynthesis, respiration), biochemical (carbon metabolism, pigments) and molecular responses (transcription factors) of photosynthetic organisms, including algae, to biotic or abiotic stresses and biotechnological applications.

Martyn Dade-Robertson is Professor of Emerging Technology at Newcastle University where, he specialise in Design Computation with a special interest in emerging technologies particularly Synthetic Biology. He is the Co-Director or the HBBE and have degrees in Architectural Design, Architectural Computation and Synthetic Biology and am the author of over 50 peer reviewed publications including the book: The Architecture of Information published by Routledge in 2011. Martyn Dade-Robertson is currently the editor for the forthcoming Routledge book series on Bio Design and have written the first book 'Living Construction', which was published at the end of 2020.

Prof. Dutz received his Diploma Engineer (Dipl.-Ing) in Biomedical Engineering from University of Applied Sciences in Jena/Germany in 2002 and his PhD (Dr.-Ing) from University of Freiberg/Germany in 2007. Prof Dutz is the Chair of Magnetic Nanoparticles Group at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics at Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany. With a background in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, and Electronics his current research interests focus on synthesis, characterization, and application of magnetic nanoparticles for medical applications as well as instrumentation for these techniques, especially magnetic hyperthermia, magnetic drug targeting, and magnetic particle imaging.

Dr. Mohamad Toutounji is the founder of Molgenium Therapeutics. Where therapeutics based on novel adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene delivery technology and their manufacturing process can be developed. Dr. Mohamad is specialized in preclinical development in collaboration with regulatory and clinical. He received a Ph.D. from the Department of physiological Chemistry at the veterinary medicine school in Hannover, Germany, and performed a postdoctoral fellowship in cell and gene therapy. He has contributed to multiple drug discovery programs that have advanced into early and late development.

Adriano Meniqueti is graduated from the Department of Industrial Chemistry (2012), Paranaense University, Brazil and obtained his master's degree in Biotechnology Applied to Agriculture (2016) in the same University. He has held visiting scientist at the Biomedical Sciences Institute of Abel Salazar (2019-2020), Porto University, Portugal and received his PhD in Chemistry of Natural Products from State University of Maringá (2021), Brazil, which was carried out a technical-scientific cooperation project between UEM and the multinational BASF Chemical Company, with the aim of developing bioherbicides. He is currently a researcher on Origem Biotechnology and his works focuses on Microbial Biotechnology and Chemistry of Natural Products: Optimization, Isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds with insecticidal, nematicidal, antifungal, bioremediation and allelopathic activity, originating from bacteria, endophytic fungi, basidiomycetes and cover crops.

Paulius L. Tamosiunas has achieved his biochemistry degrees (BSc, MSc) in Vilnius University where he continued his PhD project on developing molecular diagnostic tools for novel parvoviruses, based on the yeast-produced recombinant proteins. He has later worked with hepatitis E, paramyxoviruses, and flaviviruses and obtained experience in recombinant protein synthesis in yeast and algal cultures. For the postdoctoral project he used his expertise in yeast biotechnology for the combination of system and molecular biology approaches for discovery and characterization of plant enzymes for industrial processes in Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre. Paulius is the head of Molecular Biotechnology Bachelor ‘s programme in Vilnius University, as well as member of various educational initiative groups.

Daniel Vasconcelos is a researcher in the field of nucleic acid and peptide chemical-biology, with a degree in Bioengineering from University of Porto and a PhD in Neurochemistry from Stockholm University. Daniel accumulates over ten years of experience in the development of oligonucleotide and peptide therapeutics. He has worked at early stage and pre-clinical oligonucleotide and peptide drug development, from synthesis to management of in vivo studies. Daniel started working on synthetic oligonucleotide chemistry in the context of RNA therapeutics back in 2008, shortly after completing his bachelor degree, having worked as a research assistant with Prof.Steven Dowdy at UCSD. Daniel’s Ph.D. thesis main focus was to study and optimize the performance of cell-penetrating peptides as oligonucleotide delivery vectors. He acquired strong skills in solid phase peptide and oligo synthesis, bioconjugation strategies and HPLC purification methods, as well as in several biophysical techniques applied to nanoparticle characterization. More recently, Daniel has been working on strategies for biomolecular delivery through affinity molecules, namely affibodies and aptamers. He has been the main responsible for the design, synthesis and testing of numerous bioconjugates during his postdoctoral work at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH) and at the Imperial College London/MiNA Therapeutics.

Mohammed A. Al-Anber studied BSc and MSc in Industrial Chemistry/ Inorganic Material Polymers at the Jordan University of Science & Technology, Jordan (1994-2000). In 2003, he obtained the Ph.D degree in the Inorganic Chemistry under the direction of Prof. Dr. H. Lang from the Institute of Chemistry, Technishe Universitate Chemnitz, Germany. In 2006, he awarded Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH). During 2007 -2008, he received Postdoctoral in the supramolecular metal-organic framework and polymers at the Institute of Chemistry, Technishe Universitate Chemnitz, Germany. He joined the Faculty of science as a faculty member in 2004 – 2011 at Mutah University (Jordan). Afterwards in 2011-2016, He joined university of Hail (KSA) as sabbatical and unpaid vacation. In the period 2011-2016, he was a Vice-Dean for scientific research and Higher education, university of Hail (KSA). Since 2015, he is a full professor in the field of Industrial Inorganic Chemistry. A call to Qatar University 2013 was not taken. In 2017-2018, he was a head of chemistry department, then in 2018-2019 as a Vice-Dean, faculty of sciences, Mutah University, Jordan. He is member of scientific and editorial advisory boards, and has published 60 Peer-reviewed papers and received honors and awards. He has h-index = 13 based on scopus. Since Sep. 2020, he is Vice-Dean of Deanship of scientific research at Mutah University, Jordan. His research interests are in the (i) fabrication of silica gel, and (ii) synthesis of the metal-organic framework including (nano)materials for environmental and industrial approach.

Dr Joanna Bierła is currently an assistant professor(adjunct) in the Immunology Laboratory, Department of Pathomorphology, The Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw (Poland). She received diploma in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and in 2007 she defended PhD at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Dr Bierła was a long-term lecturer in the field of physiology and pathophysiology and in 2017 she passed national exams obtaining the qualifications of a medical diagnostician (currently completing the specialization "Laboratory medical immunology"). With a background in different kind of microscopy (light, confocal, TEM, SEM) her current research are focused on various markers of autoimmune diseases (in particular celiac disease) and Wilson's disease.

In December 2019 she obtained the PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" at the Department of Chemistry with a grade of Excellent with honors, she currently carries out her research activity as a post-Doc, in the field of '' analysis of bioactive compounds, and small molecules in agri-food matrices and waste products”.

Laura Quintas-Granados is a research professor in the Universidad Mexiquense del Bicentenario (UMB) in Mexico. She has been a technology transfer consultant with experience in the Technology Transfer Office of Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Cinvestav). She received her PhD from the Department of Biotechnology and Bioengineering of the Cinvestav. She is a fellow of National System of Researchers, a governmental agency established to promote quantity and quality of research in Mexico.She has published multiple research articles, reviews, and book chapters. Her main research fields are related to applied biotechnology. Currently, she supervised several MSc and undergraduate students at UMB.

Dr. Stefania Costa graduated in Medical-Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Ferrara in 2009, and sub sequently obtained the title of PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2014 at the same University. Since 2010 she has been a research fellowat the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara in the scientific disciplinary sector CHIM / 11. To date, she is a lecturer in the Chemistry of Fermentation of the Degree in Biotechnology at the University of Ferrara. Her research activity is focused in the field of fermentation and biotransformations using whole cells or enzymes. She also deals with the development of NIR applications in the agro-food field aimed at industrial application.

Dalibor Huska, Principal investigator Laboratory of plant metabolomics and epigenetics, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of MENDELU. Huska’s expertise focuses on the secondary metabolites of plants and microalgae and its interaction with nanomaterials. He has, an Engineering degree in Plant Biotechnology (2009), and a Ph.D. in Plant Anatomy and Physiology (2012). He has held visiting scientist at the University of East Anglia and The John Innes Centre; Department of Metabolic Biology, Norwich (United Kingdom). From 2012-2016, he worked at the Department of Molecular Epigenetics, Institute of Biophysics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Since establishing his lab at Mendel University, Dr Huska has been participating in many projects funded by the Czech´s foundation and European Union aimed at plant and microalgae. He has authored 63 original scientific papers in ISI-indexed journals.

Cecilia Cristina Peirone academic experience started with a degree in Pharmacy at UNC at Córdoba (Argentina) that lead her to work for seven years in Peirone Pharmacy (Technical Director) and a performing a post- graduation in Cosmetics at UCC- Córdoba (Argentina). The following step was a master degree in Pharmacy at University of Porto. The master thesis was about Trastuzumab in Portugal. At the professional level she moved to a work in the Administration of the Health System (Portugal) CHTMAD.EPE, where she had the chance to work in several areas regarding the health system, such as intensive care, internal medicine, psychiatry, urology, and finally, nominated for oncological team. Her academic experience continued in a PhD program in Veterinary – specialization in Biomedical. The thesis is about Intraperitoneal Ozone-therapy, applied to cancer disease. Cecilia Cristina Peirone analyzed the role of Ozone-therapy in the animal model K14, with very good results, high rates of reversal and absence of toxicity in the use of this novel application pathway. Recently, they have been testing the behavior of MRSA bacteria against ozonized oils in vitro and in vivo with very hopeful results.

Chupakhin Evgeniy graduated from Donetsk National University (Ukraine) in 2008. The first stage of his career was work in the analytical chemistryR&D department of the food company PJSC «APK-Invest». Since 2014, Evgeniy began his career in the field of organic synthesis of nucleic acids. In 2018, he successfully defended his thesis for a Ph.D. degree at the St. Petersburg Institute of Technology. At the moment, Evgeniy Chupakhin is an associate professor at the Baltic Federal University and a researcher at St. Petersburg State University. His areas of interest are organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, as well as the chemistry of protein and materials for tissue engineering.

Evrim Gunes Altuntas is graduated from the Department of Food Engineering, Ankara University, Turkey and received herdoctorate in food microbiology in 2011 in the same department. She worked in Ankara University Food Engineering Department until the end of her doctorate as of 2011, then she transferred to Ankara University Biotechnology Institute. She is currently working as Associate Professor at Ankara University Biotechnology Institute. She has been involved in scientific researches at the University of Nottingham Trent in UK and USDA Agricultural Research Service in USA, during and after her doctoral studies. Her research interests are mainly in the fields of food microbiology and biotechnology forensuring food safety and security, increasing food quality, developing biocontrol and rapid diagnosis methods. Her work focuses on food safety by using classical microbiology, molecular microbiology and mathematical modelling techniques. She has researched on lactic acid bacteria, probiotics, bacteriocins, biofilms, biosensors, and anti microbial sensitivity. She has experience in the isolation, identification and investigation of various properties of food and human-borne bacteria. She has been involved in about 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, 45 congress presentations and 13 project studies.

Dr. Yassir Lekbach is currently an Associate Professor at Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Larache, Morocco. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Microbial Biotechnology (2014) from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University and received his Ph.D.in Biotechnology from Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, Northeastern University, China. There he focused on the mitigation of microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) using natural chemicals isolated from aromatic and medicinal plants. His research also included the usage of antimicrobial copper-bearing stainless steel to inhibit biofilm formation by corrosive microbes. Dr. Lekbach’s current research focuses on the study of MIC mechanisms at the molecular level.

Francesca Cordella is Assistant Professor at the Unit of Advanced Robotics and Human-centred Technologies - Creo Lab at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. She received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. in Computer and Automation Engineering both from the University of Naples Federico II. In 2011, she was visitingstudent at the Institut fur Robotik und Mechatronik, Deutsche Zentrum fur Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR). Until June 2013 she has been Assistant Researcher at the University of Naples Federico II. From 2013 to 2018 she was Assistant Researcher and from November 2018 she is Assistant Professor both in the Creo Lab at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. Her research interests are mainly in the field of biomechanics, biomedical robotics and human-machine interfaces. She is member of the Technical Program Committee and associate editor for several International Conferences and Workshops. She is guest Editor of several journals and Associate editor for the journal Applied Bionics and Biomechanics. Since 2015 she is an expert and reviewer for the European Commission within H2020- ICT research program. She has been involved in several EU-funded and national projects in her fields of interest. She was/is Work Package scientific responsible for several European and National projects in her application fields. She was Project Manager for the National Project RehabRobo@Work “Bio-cooperative robotic system for upper-limb rehabilitation in working environments” and co-PI of the national projects PPR AS 1/3 “Implantable system for the control of upper limb prostheses with invasive neural interfaces and wireless communication” She is co-PI of the National project WiFi Myo-Hand “Optimized implantable system for interfacing with the peripheral nervous system and the control of upper limb prostheses”. She has authored/coauthored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications appeared in international journals, books and conference proceedings.

She is currently an associate professor at the University of Brasilia, Brazil and also PI of SyntBio Laboratory at UnB (https://www.synbiolabunb.com/). Specifically, her group was involved on the designing and testing integrases-based genetic switches to control gene regulation in eukaryotic cells. There laboratory is also interested on the development of synthetic biology tools that can be applied to study gene essentiality and gene function on fungi, in addition to fungal virulence response. They are evaluating suicidal CRISPR-Cas9 system and RNPs as a multiplex gene-editing tool in Crytococcus neoformans. Additionally, there group were in development a software to identify SH regions.

Assoc. prof. dr. Eglė Lastauskienė studied molecular biology, genetics and microbiologyat Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania. 2011 she got her doctoral degree in Biomedical sciences. 2013 she started and independent research groups and focused on the skin microbiota and pathogenic fungi capable to colonize human skin and the discovery of the new strategies in antifungal treatment. Since 2016 she is the head of Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology of Eucaryotic Microorganisms. The members of her scientific group are focusing on the few topics from application of pulsed electric field of the biocontrol of microorganisms to the bioengineering of the proteins. As a head of the laboratory, she is supervising 3 smaller research groups, focusing on separate topics. At 2019 she became the deputy director of the Institute of Biosciences, Life Sciences Center, Vilnius University and 2021 she was elected as a Director of the Institute. Since 2018 she is the member of Vilnius University Senate working in the Study Committee of the Senate. At 2020 together with the colleagues from Vilnius university she established the COVID19 diagnostics testing laboratory and became the head of management of laboratory. 2020 for the contribution to the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic she was awarded the Medal of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas and for a significant contribution to the health of the Lithuanian people she got the Medal “For preserving the Health”of Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. She’s is actively involved into the teaching process and is giving the lectures of Microorganism genetics, Structural cell biology, Bioactive compounds, Medical Microbiology. She is supervising bachelor, master and PhD students, published over 25 publications and is member of the MDPI journal reviewer and editorial boards.

Markus Merk is a biologist at heart and a chemist by training. His scientific career started when he graduated from the University of Zurichwith a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He then received his Master’s degree in tissue engineering, performing his fellowship in Massachusett’s General Hospital (MGH), Boston, under the guidance of Dr. J. Vacanti. Soon after, Markus accepted an offer by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences to work as a research/teaching assistant in Dr. C. Aldhart’s group. His primary research project focused on developing new biomaterials for their application in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. His work has since been published, contributing novel insights and technology for the field of regenerative medicine. After realizing a true passion for scientific research, Markus decided to further his career by pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Science and Engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara. Under the guidance of Dr. S. Streichan he intends to unravel the mysteries underlining human development, specifically inspecting individual signaling pathways and their importance in developing such complex structures like the neural tube and the human heart.

Master degree in Cellular and developmental biology at the Charles University in 2019. Since 2019 PhD student of program Molecular and Cellular biology, genetics and virology at the Charles University in Prague, Czechia. Interested in methods in the field of molecular biology, protein engineering and biophysics. He uses advanced artificial evolution techniques, such as ribosome display and yeast display, to select high affinity binders to proteins of medically interest, mainly interleukins and their receptors.

Lindomar Alberto Lerin received his D.Sc in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2010) shortly after graduating in Biological Sciences from the Integrated Regional University of Alto Uruguai and Missões (2006).His post-doctorate activities took place at the Integrated Regional University of Alto Uruguai and Missões, at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, and at the University of Ferrara.He was Substitute Professor at the Federal University of Fronteira Sul andcurrently has been approved for a position as Research fellow at the University of Ferrara - Italy(which is scheduled to start in January 2021).His works deal with Biotechnological Processes, mainly in the optimization of enzymatic processes, with the development of enzymatic biocatalysis for the synthesis of bioproducts, in particular lipases esterification, as wellwith fermentation bioprocesses using agro-industrial waste,with the application of extraction techniques of natural compounds from plant matrices, and with the application of new methodologies for the control of microorganisms in food products.His CV lists over 60 published scientific articles with more than 720 citations.
