Tarek I. Zohdi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chair of the Designated Emphasis Program in Computational and Data Science and Engineering at UC Berkeley (2012-present) and Associate Dean for Post Baccalaureate Programs in the College of Engineering. Previously, he has served as Chair of the Engineering Science Program (2008-2012). He is currently a Chancellors Professor and holder of the W. C. Hall Family Endowed Chair in Engineering. He also holds a Staff Scientist position at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs and an Adjunct Scientist position at the Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute. His main research interests are in industrial simulation and advanced manufacturing processes. He has published over 180 archival refereed journal papers and seven books. He is an editor of Computational Mechanics and co-founder and editor-in-chief of Computational Particle Mechanics. In the past, he has organized or co-organized over 30 international conferences and workshops and has been appointed/invited to the Scientific Advisory Boards of over 40 international conferences. He was elected President of the United States Association for Computational Mechanics in 2012, and served from 2012 to 2014. Overall, he has given more than 200 plenary, keynote and contributed lectures at conferences, universities and other research institutions. In 2017, he received the UC Berkeley Distinguished Teaching Award; the highest award for teaching at UC Berkeley. In 2020, he received the prestigious Humboldt-Forschungspreis (Humboldt Research Prize). Chan received her BS in materials science and metallurgy in 1980 from Columbia Engineering where she was a recipient of the Francis B.F. Rhodes Prize. In 1985, she obtained a ScD in materials science and metallurgy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Chan joined Columbia Engineering in 1990 and became co-chair of the Solid State Program in 2001. As the recipient of several fellowships, Chan has lectured and conducted research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the University of Washington, and the University of California, San Diego, as a Guggenheim Fellow. Chan was a visiting scientist at the IBM Watson Research Lab and Bitter Magnet Lab, as well as a staff scientist at Bellcore and Bell-Labs. She is the holder of six U.S. patents.

Amir H. Gandomi is a Professor of Data Science at the Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology, University of Technology Sydney. Prior to joining UTS, Prof. Gandomi was an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Stevens Institute of Technology, USA and a distinguished research fellow in BEACON center, Michigan State University, USA. Prof. Gandomi has published over two hundred journal papers and seven books which collectively have been cited more than 17,000 times (H-index = 60). He has been named as one of the most influential scientific mind and Highly Cited Researcher (top 1%) for four consecutive years, 2017 to 2020. He also ranked 18th in GP bibliography among more than 12,000 researchers. He has served as associate editor, editor and guest editor in several prestigious journals such as AE of SWEVO, IEEE TBD, and IEEE IoTJ. Prof Gandomi is active in delivering keynotes and invited talks. His research interests are global optimisation and (big) data analytics using machine learning and evolutionary computations in particular.

Prof Josua Meyer, was in 2002, appointed at the University of Pretoria as professor, and Head of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, and in 2004, Chair of the School of Engineering (7 000 students). The School offers professional engineering programmes in mining-, electrical-, electronic-, chemical-, aeronautical-, mechanical , civil engineering, etc.). Before being appointed at the University of Pretoria, he was a professor/lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, North-West University and the Military Academy of Stellenbosch University. He is a member or fellow of various professional institutes and societies such as ASME, ASHRAE, AIAA, and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He is registered as a professional engineer by the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is leading the Clean Energy Research unit that he established with a broad focus on thermal sciences and fluid flow, but with a narrower focus on heat exchangers.His heat exchanger work focused on fundamental work of flow in the transitional flow regime, mixed convection, nanofluids, boiling, and condensation. On an applications level his work focus on thermal-solar-, wind- and nuclear energy. He has grown this research group to approximately 30 full-time graduate students and 10 staff members. During this time he also established various labs with state-of-the-art instrumentation and designed and constructed (with his group members) more than 12 unique experimental set-ups. He has received 11different national teaching awards from three different universities, as well as an international award, in 2013, for “Best professor in mechanical and aeronautical engineering”.He has won more than 45 research awards including 25 awards for best article of the year or best conference paper. For his research he has won the following national and international awards:Thomas Price Award, Rand Coal Award, South African Institute of Mechanical Engineers Medal, LT Campbell-Pitt Award, Literati Award, Chairman’s Award of the South African Institute of Air-conditioning and Refrigeration, and Will Stoecker award. His is a “highly cited researcher” according to the ISI, and ranked among the top 0.1% in engineering. He is on the editorial board of 13 journals and is editor of 7 journals in his field of research. He has also chaired 15 international conferences. Recently, he was on the selection committee of the Franklin Institute Awards Programme (one of the world’s oldest (since 1824)) for the Benjamin Franklin Medal. To date, 117 awards of this institute have been honoured with Nobel prizes. He has evaluated in 2017 by the Foundation of Research Development as an A2 researcher who is unequivocally recognized by their peers as leading international scholars in their field for the high quality and impact of their recent research outputs. He has (co)authored more than 800 articles, conference papers, book chapters, patents, etc. and has (co)supervised more than 100 research masters and PhD students. In 2016, he won the University of Pretoria “Exceptional Achiever Award” for the fifth time. He received the University of Pretoria Chancellor’s award for exceptional achievement in supervision (2016) of postgraduate students and for research (2019) for sustained excellent performance, in recognition of exceptional achievement in research and the associated promotion of the University of Pretoria.

Dr. Green is an experienced expert witness. He provides analysis, opinions, and reports to support litigation and testimony. He is an internationally recognized expert on machinery, design, rotordynamics, and tribology where he frequently consults for the industry on his fields of expertise (see list below). Dr. Green has authored and co-authored more than 150 papers and reports in tribology and design, primarily in the fields of gas/liquid triboelements design, rotordynamics, integrated diagnostics, dynamic analysis of mechanical face seals, mechanics of viscoelastic dampers and seals, finite element analysis of elastic-viscoelastic vibrating structures, elasto-plastic hemispherical contact, and computer aided design of machine elements. In 1986 he received the ASME Burt L. Newkirk Award “in recognition of excellent technical papers published in ASME Transactions.” In 1993 he was a Wolberg Visiting Professor at the Technion, and was also appointed as a Woodruff Faculty Fellow at Georgia Tech. He was awarded the Best Sealing Technology Paper by STLE-STC (1988), the STLE Walter D. Hodson Award (2001), and the STLE Frank P. Bussick Best Paper Award (2004). Dr. Green is the recipient of the ASME 2006 Machine Design Award “for outstanding achievements and dedication to excellence in design education, innovation, service and research.” He served as a Technical Associate Editor for the ASME Transactions, Journal of Tribology (1988-94), then served and chaired the STLE Awards Committee (1998-2002), as well as the 2005 STLE Annual Meeting Program Committee (1995-2005). He has been an Associate Editor for STLE, Tribology Transactions (2000-2007), a Director on the STLE Board (2004-2007), and the Chair of the Contact Mechanics Technical Committee of ASME Tribology Division (2005-2007). Dr. Green, a Fellow of the ASME and the STLE, has served two terms as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the ASME Tribology Division (2003-2008). Likewise, he served and chaired the ASME Tribology Division Nominations and Oversight Committee. Dr. Green has been an instructor and the course administrator for the short course of Fluid Sealing Technology given annually at Georgia Tech. He also has taught the entire mechanics and design subjects for the Professional Engineering Refresher Course for the PE Exam. He served on the ASME Design Engineering Division Leonardo da Vinci Award Committee, chaired the ASME Tribology Division Awards Committee, and chaired the STLE Fellows Committee. He serves as an academic editor for the Journal of Shock and Vibration. At Georgia Tech he chairs the Tribology Research Area Group and the Rotordynamics Research Laboratory.

Dr Yang Wenming is currently the Dean’s Chair Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He is also the editor-in-chief of Energy Engineering.His research interests include: development of Lower Temperature Combustion (LTC) Technologies, combustion and emissions control of biomass boilers and coal boilers, fuel design and its application in internal combustion engines etc. He has authored/co-authored more than 340 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences, of which, more than 270 papers are SCI index, and most of his papers are published in top 10% journals. His papers have been cited by more than 10900 times with a H-index of 56. He is currently the Principal Investigator or Co-PI for 14 competitive research grants funded by National Funding Agencies and Ministry of Education of Singapore, worth more than $30 million US dollars. He has won a series of awards including the Dean’s Chair professor, 4 times of scientific progress award (2nd prize) by the Ministry of Education of China and the Society of Mechanical Engineering of China; two papers was awarded the best paper by Applied Energy (Elsevier) in 2014 and 2016 respectively; He is also the regular reviewer for a lot of peer-reviewed reputable journals such as Applied Energy, Energy Conversion and Management, Fuel, Combustion and Flame, Progress in Energy and Combustion Sciences etc.

Tassos Karayiannis studied at the City University London and the University of Western Ontario. He started his career as a researcher at Southampton University and later as a British Technology Group Researcher at City University. Subsequently he worked at London South Bank University and joined Brunel University London in 2005 where he is now Professor of Thermal Engineering, Leader of the Two-Phase and Heat Transfer Group and Director of the Energy Efficient and Sustainable Technologies Research Centre of Brunel. Professor Karayiannis has carried out fundamental and applied research in a number of single-and two-phase heat transfer areas. He has been involved with two-phase flow and heat transfer for over 30 years. Initially he worked on the enhancement of pool boiling and condensation processes using high intensity electric fields (Electro hydro dynamic enhancement of Heat Transfer). In parallel, he carried out extensive experimental work in pool boiling heat transfer with plane and enhanced surfaces. Professor Karayiannis has also been very actively involved with research in flow boiling in small to micro tubes and micro-multi-channels. This work involves fundamental studies as well as research leading to the design of high heat flux integrated thermal management systems.His research has been funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Innovate UK and Industry. He has published more than 250 chapters in books, papers and industrial reports. He chairs the Committee of the International Conference Series on Micro and Nanoscale Flows now in its 7th editionand co-chairs the 7th World Congress on Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer. He is a Fellow of the EI and the IMechE, Member of the Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conferences and the Chairman of the UK National Heat Transfer Committee.

Sushanta Mitra is the Executive Director of the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology and a Professor in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. His research interests are in the fundamental understanding of fluid transport in micro and nano-scale confinements with applications in energy, water, and bio-systems. For his contributions in science and engineering, he is an elected Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the American Physical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Beatrice Paternoster was born in Naples, Italy, in 1958, where she graduated with honors in Mathematics in 1980 at the Federico II University of Naples. Since 2005 she has been Full Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Salerno. Previously she held the role of Associate Professor and Researcherof Numerical Analysis at the University of Salerno. She had also worked as a Data Processing Officer at the University of Salerno, and had been fellow at the National Institute of Higher Mathematics "FrancescoSeveri" in Rome and then an analyst-programmer at the SOGEI software house in Rome. Her teaching activity takes place within the courses of Numerical Calculus, Scientific Calculus, Numerical Analysis at the Degree Course in Mathematics and the Master's Degree Course in Mathematics. She has also taught Approximation Methods, Numerical Methods for Graphics at the Degree Courses of Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics and Chemistry. In her research activity she deals with numerical modeling for deterministic and stochastic evolution problems, with particular interest in differential and integral problems, oscillating problems, geometric-numerical integration of conservative problems. During her academic activity she wasDirector of the Department of Mathematics and Member of the Academic Senate at University of Salerno, Scientific Director of the Didactic Laboratories of Mathematics, Member of the teaching staff of the Research Doctorate in Mathematics, President of Teaching Activities in Mathematics degrees, and responsible of several research projects. She is the author or co-author of 104 papers published in international journals (source Scopus, updated to 8 August 2021).

Jiawei Sun obtained her Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics and Solid-state Electronics from Southeast University. Meanwhile she had been a visiting scholar to Berkeley Lawrence National Lab for two years, major in Materials Science. Since then she has been a lecturer at Suzhou University of Science and Technology. Her main research interests focus on Novel 2D materials fabrication and applications in sensors, study of energy transmission.

Prof. Suchao Xie was Central South University, Traffic and Transportation Engineering, As a professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of the department at Central South University, I have been engaged in the research of vehicle structure analysis and structure optimization, the theory and application of new materials in train crashworthy structures, and acoustic metamaterials. Published over 70 academic papers in well-known international journals, including 47 SCI papers, 9 EI papers; applied for 35 public invention patents, of which 21 were authorized; won 5 provincial and ministerial awards and 7 school-level awards; presided over 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of Excellent Youth Project of Hunan Province, 1 project of Hunan Provincial Department of Education, more than 10 projects of various types of horizontal subjects, and the total funding of the subject is more than 14 million yuan; participated in more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial projects. Dr. Jianxiong Zhu is an associate Professor from Southeast University, China. He received d Ph.D. from the University of Missouri Columbia in 2015. After that, he worked as assistant professor in Beijing institute of Nanoenergy and Nanaosysem. He also worked as postdoc in KAIST, Korea, and National University of Singapore for several years. His research interests are focused on 3D printing for functional sensors, MEMS zero-power sensor, wearable flexible sensor, and gas sensor.

Professor Hongming Xu is Head of the Vehicle Research Centre at the University of Birmingham and a ‘Distinguished Visiting Professor’ at Tsinghua University. With BEng and MEng degrees from Hefei University of Technology obtained in 1982 and 1984 respectively, he received his PhD from Imperial College in 1995. He was a Technical Specialist at JLR prior to joining UoB in 2005 and becoming professor in 2009. He has over 200 SCI journal papers and 200 conference publications including 90 SAE Papers with a Scopus H-index of 37 in powertrain research added by some 40 invited talks and keynotes. He is a Fellow of SAE International and IMechE.

Wei Gao is a Professor in the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering at the Hohai University, Nanjing, P.R. China. And he is a Professor in the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education for Geomechanics and Embankment Engineering too. He received both the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, P.R. China, and receivedPh.D. degree from the LogisticalEngineeringUniversity, Chongqing, P.R. China.From 2002 to 2005, he worked as postdoctoral fellowship at Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan, P.R. China, and then worked as Associate Researcher in the same institute from 2005 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as a Professor in the School of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Wuhan University, Wuhan, P.R. China. Now, he is the Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu and The Leading Talent of Jiangsu Province. His research interests include stability of geotechnical engineering and application of intelligent method in civil engineering. He has published over 100 journal papers and five monographs.

Juan Esteban is the director of the Data Science Institute, director of the master program in Data and Business Management and Professor of Operations and Supply Chain at USFQ Business School, Universidad San Francisco de Quito. He is an expert in evolutionary computation, automatic algorithm design and configuration, multiobjective optimisation under uncertainty and machine learning. Juan Esteban is the author of multiple publications in high-impact journals and a very active consultant. He was awarded a PhD in Business and Management by the University of Manchester, holds an MSc in Food and Resource Economics from Bonn University and a Food Engineering degree from Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

Debao Zhou is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth. From 2005 to 2008, he was with Georgia Tech Research Institute as a Postdoctoral fellow. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2004. He also earned his Master of Engineering degree and Bachelor of Engineering degree from Tsinghua University, P. R. China both in Mechanical Engineering. His active research interests include distributed force sensor design, modeling of bio-material cutting, design of next generation endoscope, tracking system development using thermal imaging method, and robotics.

Fawad Rauf is an experienced engineer, zealous educator, and innovative researcher. For the past 35 years, he has taken various roles serving the engineering community; as a professor, corporate manager, and community worker. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1982 from NUST, Pakistan. He earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, in 1988 and 1993 respectively from Boston University, USA. He focuses his research work on nonlinear processes, Adaptive Filtering, Neural Networks, and Chaos Theory. As CTO of Streaming Networks, an international technology solutions firm, he led multidisciplinary teams, build end-to-end systems, develop embedded software, and test to ensure product certification throughout the development life cycle. As CIO of OGDCL, a large-scale oil company, he accomplished a complete redesign of the legacy information systems, by establishing new state-of-the-art infrastructure for revamping the information displays for the corporate management in the energy sector. Dr. Rauf presently serves as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Texas A & M University at Texarkana.

Dr. JEAN JIANG is an IEEE Senior Member. She received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, USA. Dr. Jiang is currently an Associate Professor with the College of Technology, Purdue University Northwest, Hammond, Indiana, USA. She has published two textbooks: Digital Signal Processing: Fundamentals and Applications (Elsevier, Third Edition, 2018) and Analog Signal Processing and Filter Design (Linus Publications, Second Edition, 2016). Her research interests include digital signal processing, adaptive signal processing, control systems, deep learning, neural networks, machine learning and robotics.

Dubravka Mijuca is a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University UNION-Nikola Tesla Belgrade, Serbia (2007-present), where she also served as dean. Previously she was a professor at the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade. In addition, she is continuously involved with industrial applications as a finite element analyst in various industrial fields. Her main research interest is the development of the new fast reliable finite element methods in thermo-mechanics over the spatial scales, based on a primal-mixed approach. As a finite element analyst and calculation engineer, she is proficient in transient dynamical analyses (impact, drop test), transient heat transfer analyses, thermo-mechanical analyses, and energy consumption calculations. Her field of applications includes complex engineering structures with high risk in operation, as high temperatures and severe potential of human injury and/or financial loss. She is present in the scientific community with papers published in high-ranked journals such as Computational Mechanics and Finite Elements in Analysis and Design. In the past, she has organized or co-organized several international conferences and workshops and has been appointed/invited to the Scientific Advisory Boards. She served as co-president of the Serbian Society of Computational Mechanics, and currently, she is a member of the Member of NAFEMS Eastern-European Steering Committee.

MARCELO A. A. SANCHES was born in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil. In 2002 he received the B.Sc from UNIFEB, in 2007 M.Sc. and 2013 the D.Sc. graduated from the University of the State of São Paulo (UNESP), all in electrical engineering. In 2011, he held Sandwich Doctorate at the Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi Technology Center, Milan, Italy (CNPq - SWE Fellow). Has experience in research in the electrical engineering, acting on the following subjects electronic instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation, rehabilitation engineering, control and instrumentation, microcontrollers, extensometer and electrostimulation. Youness MADANI is a scientific researcher from sultan Moulay Slimane university in Morocco, also occupies the position of an administrator in computer science at the faculty of economics and management in Beni Mellal. Dr. Youness MADANI obtained a master's degree in business intelligence from the faculty of science and technics, Beni Mellal, Morocco in 2016, and a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from Sultan Moulay Slimane University, faculty of sciences and technics, Beni Mellal, Morocco, in 2019. His current interests include developing new methods and algorithms related to data science, data mining, Big Data, information retrieval, machine learning, sentiment analysis, and e-learning.

Meirbek Mussatayev is a young researcher who is currently involved in research project entitled “In-line Eddy-Current Testing (ECT) of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers (CFRP)” Faculty of Engineering, University of Bristol, UK. Prior joining University of Bristol in 2020, he was a PhD candidate at Guilin University of Electronic Technology, China. He obtained the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Automation and Control and Mechanical Engineering from Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications, Kazakhstan and Tomsk Polytechnical University, Russia in 2009 and 2013, respectively. During his Ph.D. study at Electrical and Mechanical Engineering School, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, China he was awarded as the outstanding Ph.D. student. Over the length of his career, Dr. Mussatayev’s areas of interest include Time and Frequency metrology, CAD/CAE design, precision engineering, estimation of uncertainty in Dimensional/Coordinate Metrology, automation and control systems with applications in transportation. His current research focuses on the development advanced measurement & data-analysis techniques for evaluating structural properties such as fibre orientation, stacking sequence and fibre density variations in Eddy-Current Inspection (ECI). He is interested in precision engineering and instrumentation, estimation of uncertainty in Dimensional/Coordinate Metrology, condition monitoring of Carbon Fibre-Reinforced Polymer in safety-critical applications using ECI.

Carlos Acosta, Ph.D. received a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering as well as a M.Sc. and PhD in computer and electrical engineering all from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has been working on the HVAC industry as a research scientist for the last 7 years designing and developing controlling schemes for multi-evaporator HVAC systems. His research interests range for numerical and experimental characterization of multi-phase flows to the design and fabrication of ferroelectric micro-shells for small scale sensors.

Dr Diego R. Faria is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Computer Science. He is with the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Digital Engineering and Informatics, Aston University, Birmingham, UK. He is the coordinator of the ARVIS Lab (Aston Robotics, Vision and Intelligent Systems: http://arvis-lab.io). Currently (2019-2022) he is the project coordinator of the EU-CHIST-ERA InDex (Robot In-hand Dexterous manipulation by extracting data from human manipulation of objects to improve robotic autonomy and dexterity) funded by EPSRC-UK. Dr Faria is also PI (2020-2022) of projects with industry (KTP-Innovate UK scheme) related to perception and autonomous systems applied to Self-Driving Cars, and PI of the Sim2Real (2019-2020) project funded by the Royal Society UK. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal in 2014. He holds an M.Sc. degree in computer science from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil, in 2005. In 2001, he earned a bachelor’s degree in informatics technology (data computing & information) and has finished a computer science specialization in 2002 at Londrina State University, Brazil. From 2014 to 2016 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Systems and Robotics, University of Coimbra where he collaborated on different projects funded by the EU commission and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology in areas of Artificial Perception, Cognitive Robotics (HRI and Grasping & Dexterous Manipulation), Assisted Living and Applied Machine Learning.

Zoleikha Biron is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida. Prior joining University of Florida in 2019, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Clemson University. She received her BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from University of Tehran and K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2007, and 2011 respectively. She got her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Automotive Engineering, Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA in May 2017 where she was awarded as the outstanding Ph.D. student in 2016. Over the length of her career, Dr. Biron’s areas of interest include control, estimation, diagnosis and cybersecurity of cyber physical systems with applications in transportation and energy sectors. Her current researches focus on cybersecurity and energy management of microgrids, connected vehicles, and smart cities. She is interested in utilizing control theory, estimation, optimization, and fault diagnostics techniques to enhance the security and efficiency of cyber physical systems in the presence of cyber-attacks e.g. denial of service and false data injection attack. Dr. Aleksandr Cherniaev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He leads a research program involving computational and experimental impact mechanics of advanced lightweight materials & structures, including, polymer matrix composites, porous materials, and high-strength flexible fabrics. Janka Kovacikova, PhD., is a senior associate lecturer at Linnaeus University at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden. Associate Professor Dr. Rosli Ahmad is a metallurgical researcher known for his contribution to the magnesium research as well as his work in promoting magnesium for light-weighting applications in the transportation sector. Sergei Alexandrov is a Visiting Professor at Beihang University (China) under the program “Recruitment Program for Global Experts”,a Research Professor of the Institute for Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia) and an adjunct faculty member of Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam).He received his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics in 1990 and D.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics in 1994. During his PhD, he was Visiting PhD student for 8 months in the Tribology group at Imperial College London. His PhD thesis dealt with the effect of adhesion and friction in periodic contacts of elastic and viscoelastic thin layers. After the PhD, he spent three years post-doc at Polytechnic University of Bari working con contact mechanics, adhesion and viscoelasticity of layered and multilayer materials. At the same time, he was Visiting Academic in the Tribology group at Imperial College, working in tight collaboration with Prof. Dini and Dr. Reddyhoff. In 2019, he was granted with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at Imperial College London (UK), and he is currently enrolled in the Tribology group. In 2020, he gained a Senior Lectureship in the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management of the Polytechnic University of Bari. His research interests mainly consist in the contact mechanics of elastic and viscoelastic thin layers, with specific focus on interfacial phenomena such as adhesion and friction. Other topics of scientific interest are associated to the nonlinear dynamics of multi-dof systems under nonlinear damping arising from viscoelastic contact interactions. He currently counts more than 25 publications in international journals.

Haoping Wang received the Master degree on Automatic Control, Informatic Engierring and Image Processing, and on Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control and Computer Science from Lille University of Science and Technology (LUST), France, respectively in 2005 and in 2008. He is currently Professor and Ph.D Supervisor at Automation School, Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), China. He was research fellows at Modeling Information and System Laboratory of Picardie University (2010-2011) and at Automatics, Computer Engineering and Signal Processing Laboratory (LAGIS UMR CNRS 8219) of LUST (2005-2010), France. His research interests include the theory and applications of hybrid systems, visual servo control, model free adaptive control, friction modeling and compensation, rehabilitation and augmentive exoskeletons, modeling and control of diesel engines, biotechnological processes, PV, and wind turbine systems. He was/is the Principal Investigators and coordinators of Chinese National key R & D project of national international science and technology cooperation Project, National Science Foundation of China Projects (General and Younth), the Erasmus+/ International Credit Mobility (E+ICM) programs with France and Greece, Chinese-French project of Cai Yuanpei, etc. He has published over 190 refereed international journal (IEEE Trans. Autom. Contr., Automatica, Mech. Syst. Signal Pr., IEEE Trans. Syst. Man Cybern. Syst., J. Franklin Inst., J. Vibr. Contr., Int. J. Hydr. Energy, Adv. Eng. Softw., IEEE Trans. Aerosp. Electr.
