Federico Capasso is the Robert Wallace Professor of Applied Physics at Harvard University, which he joined in 2003 after 27 years at Bell Labs where his career advanced from postdoctoral fellow to Vice President for Physical Research. He has made important contributions to optics and photonics, nanoscience, materials science and quantum electrodynamics, including the bandgap engineering technique leading to his invention of the quantum cascade laser, research on metasurfaces including the generalized laws of refraction and reflection, high performance metalenses and “flat optics” in general, and fundamental studies of the Casimir force, including the first measurement of the repulsive Casimir force. He is a coauthor of over 500 publications and holds 70 US patents. His awards include the Balzan Prize in Applied Photonics, the IEEE Edison Medal, the IEEE David Sarnoff Award, the American Physical Society Arthur Schawlow Prize in Laser Science, the King Faisal Prize, the AAAS Rumford Prize, the Enrico Fermi Prize of the Italian Physical Society, the European Physical Society Quantum Electronics Prize, the Wetherill Medal of the Franklin Institute, the Materials Research Society Medal, the Jan Czochralski Award for lifetime achievements in Materials Science, the Rob Wood Prize of the Optical Society of America, the Matteucci Medal. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Academia Europaea, the Accademia dei Lincei, a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS).He holds honorary doctorates from Lund University, Diderot University, the University of Bologna and University of Roma, Tor Vergata.

Manijeh Razeghi received the Doctorate d’état ES Sciences Physiques from the Université de Paris, France, in 1980. Manijeh Razeghi was the Head of the Exploratory Materials Laboratory at Thomson-CSF (France) during the 80’s where she developed and implemented modern metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) vapor phase epitaxy (VPE), molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), GasMBE, and MOMBE for entire compositional ranges of III-V compound semiconductors from deep UV to THZ.. Developing these tools was fundamental in enabling her to achieve high purity semiconductor crystals with a consistency and reliability that was often unmatched, thereby leading to new physics phenomena in InP and GaAs based semiconductors and quantum structures. She realized the first InP Quantum wells and Superlattices and demonstrated the marvels of quantum mechanics in the low dimensional world. She joined Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, as a Walter P. Murphy Professor and Director of the Center for Quantum Devices in Fall 1991, where she created the undergraduate and graduate program in solid-state engineering. She is on the editorial board of many journals, and is an Adjunct Professor at the College of Optical Sciences of the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. She has authored or co-authored more than 1000 papers, more than 34 book chapters, and 20 books, including the textbooks Technology of Quantum Devices (Springer Science Business Media, Inc., New York, NY U.S.A. 2010) and Fundamentals of Solid State Engineering, 4th Edition (Springer Science Business Media, Inc., New York, NY U.S.A. 2018). Two of her books, MOCVD Challenge Vol. 1 (IOP Publishing Ltd., Bristol, U.K., 1989) and MOCVD Challenge Vol. 2 (IOP Publishing Ltd., Bristol, U.K., 1995), discuss some of her pioneering work in InP-GaInAsP and GaAs-GaInAsP based systems. The MOCVD Challenge, 2nd Edition (Taylor & Francis/CRC Press, 2010) represents the combined updated version of Volumes 1 and 2. She holds more than 55 U.S. patents and has given more than 1000 invited and plenary talks. Her current research interest is in nanoscale optoelectronic quantum devices. She has an H -index of 95. Dr. Razeghi is a Fellow of MRS, IOP, IEEE, APS, SPIE, OSA, Fellow and Life Member of Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Fellow of the International Engineering Consortium (IEC). She received the IBM Europe Science and Technology Prize in 1987, the Achievement Award from the SWE in 1995, the R.F. Bun shah Award in 2004, IBM Faculty Award 2013, the Jan Czochralski Gold Medal in 2016, the 2018 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Electrical Engineering, and many best paper awards. She is an elected life-Fellow of SWE, IEEE, and MRS.

Dieter Bimberg received the Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France, until 1979. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of Nanophotonics. He was holding guest professorships at the Technion, Haifa, U.C. Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah 2012-2018. In 2018 he assumed the directorship of the “Bimberg Chinese German Center for Green Photonics” at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina,the EU Academy of Sciences, a ForeignMember of the Russian Academy of Sciences,the US Academies of Engineering and of Inventors, a Life Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE. He is recipient of multiple international awards, like the UNESCO Nanoscience Award, the Max-Born Award and Medal of IoP and DPG, the Heinrich-Welker-Award, the Nick Holonyak Jr. Award, the Japanese Oyo Buturi Award of Applied Physics, the Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal and Award of IEEE, and the Stern-Gerlach Award of DPG, to mention a few. He received honorary doctorates of the University of Lancaster, UK, and the St.Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has authored more than 1600 papers, 61 patents, and six books. The number of times his research works has been cited exceeds 64,000 and his Hirsch factor is 112 (@ Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices, and energy efficient data communication.

Shihe Yang received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Rice University. He did post-doctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Toronto before joining the faculty at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he became a full professor. He is currently Professor at Peking University, Shenzhen Graduate School. His research interests include chemistry and physics of clusters, nanomaterials, energy conversion and photoelectric conversion. His current interest is focused on solar energy and photoelectric nanoscience and nanotechnology. He is the author/co-author of over 620 international journal publications and ~30 patents with over 45,000 citations and h-index > 110. His scientific research has been recognized by, among others, two State Natural Science Awards.

Harry Atwater is the Howard Hughes Professor of Applied Physics and Materials Science at the California Institute of Technology. Atwater’s scientific interests span light-matter interactions from quantum nanophotonics, two-dimensional materials and metasurfaces to solar photovoltaics and artificial photosynthesis. Atwater is an early pioneer in nanophotonics and plasmonics; he gave the name to the field of plasmonics in 2001. He currently serves as Director of the Liquid Sunlight Alliance, a DOE Solar Fuels Hub project, and was the founding Director of the Resnick Sustainability Institute at Caltech. He also chairs the Breakthrough Starshot Lightsail Committee and is a PI of the Caltech Space Solar Power Project. Harry Atwater is a Member of US National Academy of Engineering and is also a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Materials Research Society, SPIE and the National Academy of Inventors. Atwater has been honored by awards including: Kavli Innovations in Chemistry Lecture Award, American Chemical Society (2018); APS David Adler Lectureship for Advances in Materials Physics (2016); Julius Springer Prize in Applied Physics (2014); Fellowship from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (2013); ENI Prize for Renewable and Nonconventional Energy (2012); SPIE Green Photonics Award (2012); MRS Kavli Lecturer in Nanoscience (2010); and the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award (2010). He also received the Joop Los Fellowship from the Dutch Society for Fundamental Research on Matter (2005), the A.T.&T. Foundation Award (1990), the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award (1989) and the IBM Faculty Development Award in 1989-1990. He is the founding Editor in Chief for the journal ACS Photonics, and is Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics. In 2006 he founded the Gordon Research Conference on Plasmonics, for which he served as chair in 2008. Professor Atwater has worked extensively as a consultant for industry and government and has actively served the materials community in a variety of roles, including President of the Materials Research Society in 2000, MRS Meeting Chair in 1997, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Gordon Research Conferences. He also teaches graduate level Applied Physics classes at Caltech in nanophotonics, solid-state physics and device physics.

Professor Yusuke Yamauchi received his Bachelor's degree (2003), Master's degree (2004), and Ph.D. degree (2007) from Waseda University, Japan. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined the National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, to start his own research group. At the same time, he started to serve as a professor to supervise Ph.D. students at the Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, Waseda University. After being granted the ARC Future Fellowship, in May 2016, he joined the Institute for Superconducting & Electronic Materials (ISEM), Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM), The University of Wollongong (UOW) as a full professor. In 2018, he moved to The University of Queensland (UQ). Presently, he is a senior group leader at AIBN (on secondment from the School of Chemical Engineering until 2022) and a full professor at the School of Chemical Engineering. He concurrently serves as an ERATO Research Director at JST-ERATO Yamauchi Materials Space-Tectonics, a Group Leader at Mesoscale Materials Chemistry Group, National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a visiting professor at Waseda University, an advisory board member of prestigious journals (Small, Small Structures, ChemCatChem, J. Inorg. Organomet. Polym. Mater., etc.) and an associate editor of the Journal of Materials Chemistry A published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Chemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier). He has published more than 850 papers in international refereed journals with > 50,000 citations (h-index > 115, Google Scholar; h-index > 100 Web-of-Science). He is selected as one of the Highly-Cited Researchers in Chemistry in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 and in Materials Science in 2020. He has received many outstanding awards, such as the NISTEP Award by the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (2016), the Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) Award for Young Chemists (2014), the Young Scientists' Prize of the Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT (2013), the PCCP Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry (2013), the Tsukuba Encouragement Prize (2012), the Ceramic Society of Japan (CerSJ) Award (2010), and the Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists (2010). Recently, he was selected as one of Australia's Top 40 Researchers of Research Report published by The Australian in 2019 and 2020. Professor Yusuke Yamauchi specialises in the design of functional nanospaces in inorganic materials with controlled compositions and morphologies toward practical applications. Professor Yamauchi focuses on a new conceptual paradigm "nanoarchitectonics" for the design of novel nanocrystals and nanoporous materials toward various applications including batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, chemical sensors, field emitters, and photonic devices. Specifically, nanoporous metals can be produced through surfactant-based synthesis assisted by electrochemical methods. Owing to their metallic frameworks, nanoporous metals possess high electroconductivity and high surface areas, holding promise for a wide range of electrochemical applications. Furthermore, he has developed several approaches towards controlling the orientation of tubular nanochannels. The controlling the geometry of nanochannels at a macroscopic-scale is important for innovative applications such as chemical devices and electrodes with enhanced diffusions of guest species.

Erik Bakkers is a professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. He obtained his PhD degree in nanoelectrochemistry at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands. He founded a research group at Philips Research in Eindhoven, in 2000, focused on nanowires. His current research focuses on quantum materials, to detect and manipulate Majorana states, and in hexagonal silicon, to demonstrate and exploit the predicted direct bandgap in this material. His awards include the Technical Review Award from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology, Vici Grant, European Research Council Consolidator Grant, European Research Council Advanced Grant and the Science AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize.

Mohamed-Slim Alouini (Fellow IEEE and Fellow OSA) was born in Tunis, Tunisia. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Pasadena, CA, USA, in 1998.,He served as a Faculty Member at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, then in the Texas A&M University at Qatar, Education City, Doha, Qatar, before joining the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, as a Professor of electrical engineering in 2009. His current research interests include the modeling, design, and performance analysis of wireless communication systems

Lorenzo Pavesi is Professor of Experimental Physicsat the Department of Physics of the University of Trento (Italy). Born the 21st of November 1961, he received his PhD in Physics in 1990 at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale of Lausanne (Switzerland). In 1990 he became Assistant Professor, an Associate Professor in 1999 and Full Professor in 2002 at the University of Trento. He leads the Nanoscience Laboratory (25 people),teaches several classes at the Department of Physics of the University of Trento. He founded the research activity in semiconductor optoelectronics at the University of Trento and started several laboratories of photonics, growth and advanced treatment of materials.He was the first president and founder of the IEEE italian chapter on Nanotechnology. He has directed37PhD students and more than 30 Master thesis students. His research activity concerned the optical properties of semiconductors. During the last years, he concentrated on Silicon based photonics where he looks for the convergence between photonics and electronics. He is interested in active photonics devices which can be integrated in silicon by using optical nolinearities and modified material properties. His interests encompass also optical sensors or biosensors and solar cells. Recent development is toward integrated quantum photonics and neuromorphic photonics. In silicon photonics, he is one of the worldwide recognized experts, he organized several international conferences, workshops and schools and is a frequently invited speaker. He manages several research projects, both national and international. He is an ERC grantee. He is a frequently invited reviewer, monitor or referee for photonics projects by several grant agencies. He is an author or co-author of more than 500 papers, author of several reviews, editor of more than 15 books, author of 2 books and holds 7 patents. He is chief speciality editor of the section Optics and Photonics of Frontiers in Physics andfounding editor of the series Photonic Materials and Applications, a joint initiative of SPIE and Elsevier.Moreover he sits in the editorial board of the ETRI Journal and of the journals Sensors and Applied Sciences: Optics and Lasers. He is in the advisory board of Glass-to-Power and of Sybilla, two italian start-up.In 2001 he was awarded the title of Cavaliere by the Italian President for scientific merit. In 2010 and 2011 he was elected distinguished speaker of the IEEE- Photonics society. He is fellow of the IEEE, of SPIE and of the SIF. He holds an H-number of 59 according to Scopusand Web of Science, and of 71 according to Google Scholar.

Sergey Ivanov’s current position is a Director of Ioffe Institute. He is a world known expert in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and semiconductor physics. His research interests spread for physics and technology of advanced low-dimensional structures based on a wide spectrum of III-V, II-VI, and III-Nitride semiconductors for photonic and electronic applications. He is a co-author of above 590 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 10 book chapters with total citations above 7000, he gave about 45 invited and plenary talks at the International conferences. Among his principal results is the developing of original self-consistent thermodynamic approach to description of different phenomena in MBE of III-V and II-VI compounds, which formed a basis for performing by his group pioneering studies of advanced photonic heterostructures for wide spectral range - from mid-IR to deep-UV. For many years, he served as the IAC and IPC member of regular International conferences in his research areas as well as organized and co-chaired several of them in St. Petersburg: PLMCN4, II-VI-2009, ISGN4, EuroMBE 2017, IWUMD4.

Hoon Sohn received his B.S. and M.S. (1994) degrees from Seoul National University, Seoul Korea and Ph.D. (1999) from Stanford University, California, USA, all in Civil Engineering. He worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) from 1999 to 2004 as a Technical Staff Member and in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University for 2004-2006 as an Assistant Professor. He is now Professor at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), and the Director of 3D Printing Nondestructive Center sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Korea. Over last twenty-five years, his research interest has been in the areas of structural health monitoring, nondestructive testing, sensing technologies and data analytics. His research interests include guided waves, noncontact laser ultrasonics, structural health monitoring, nondestructive testing, smart materials and sensing, and statistical pattern recognition to name a few. He has published over 190 refereed journal articles, over 370 conference proceedings, and 11 book & book chapters. His developed technologies are licensed and commercialized by private companies, resulting in over 1 Million USD licensing agreements. He is currently SPIE Fellow, member of National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK), and member of Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST). He was selected as one of 100 most promising individuals in Korea in 2012 by Donga Daily Newspaper, which is one of the three major newspapers in Korea. He was also the recipient of SHM Person-of-Year Award at 2011 International workshop on SHM, 2008 Young Scientists Award from KAST and 2017 Young Engineers Award from NAEK, 2017 KAIST Best Research Award in Korea. His work has been funded by the Boeing Company, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, US Air Force Research Laboratory, US Air Force Office of Scientific Research (US AFOSR), US National Science Foundation, National Research Foundation of Korea, Korea Agency for Defense Development, Hyundai & KIA Motors, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Bombardier, POSCO, Daewoo Construction, and Foongsan FNS.

Olga Korotkova (OK) has received her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the Samara State University (Russia) in 1999 and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida, FL, in 2002 and 2003, respectively. She worked at the University of Rochester, NY, with Prof. Emil Wolf from 2004 to 2007 until she joined the Department of Physics, University of Miami, FL as an Assistant Professor. OK was promoted to the Associate Professor in 2012 and the Full Professor in 2018. She published more than 200 research papers and 2 monographs on classical statistical optics. OK's immediate research interests are in structured coherence states of light and in interaction of optical fields with turbulent natural media: atmosphere, oceans and soft biological tissues.

Lute Maleki is a Founder, and President and CEO of OEwaves, Inc. The Company is focused on the development of advanced sensors and communication components and systems based on microwave photonics technologies for Department of Defense and other government and commercial customers. Before re-joining OEwaves in April 2020, he was at GM/Cruise Automation, responsible for the development of LiDAR for autonomous navigation. Prior to that, he was at OEwaves serving as President and CEO. In 2014, he co-founded and served as the CTO of Strobe, a LiDAR company spun out of OEwaves and acquired by GM/Cruise in 2017. Prior to joining OEwaves, Lute was a Senior Research Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where he created and led the Quantum Sciences and Technologies Group. His technical areas of interest at JPL included development of atomic clocks based on ion traps and laser cooled trapped atoms; ultra-stable photonic oscillators; the opto-electronic oscillator (OEO); photonic signal distribution systems; study and development of whispering gallery mode micro-resonators and their applications; development of sensors based on atom wave interferometers; and tests of fundamental physics with atomic clocks. He is an inventor of over 65 U.S. Patents and applications, and has authored and co-authored over 130 refereed publications, and over 200 conference proceedings. Dr. Maleki is a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and a Fellow of the Optical Society of America. He holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics. He received the IEEE Rabi Award, IEEE Sawyer Award and NASA’s Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal for the development of the Trapped Ion Frequency Standard.

Jimmy Xu, currently a Professor of Engineering and Physics and holder of the Charles C. Tillinghast Jr. 1932 University Professor Chair at Brown University, USA. Before coming to Brown University in 1999, he was the James Ham Chair Professor at the University of Toronto and Director, Nortel Institute of Telecommunications; he was made a Fellow of AAAS, APS, IEEE, IoP and Guggenheim, served as an advisor to a number of government research institutions and a number of companies, and as Editor, IEEE Trans. on Electronic Devices, Distinguished Visiting Scientist at NASA JPL, World-Class University Professor at the Seoul National University

Prof. Liu received his Ph. D degree from Université Laval, Canada, in 2005, and jointed Nankai University in 2007 as a full professor. Now, he is serving as the director of Institute of modern optics, member of the standing committee of Chinese Optical Society and vice president of Optical Society of Tianjin. Prof. Liu’s research interest mainly focuses on the ultrafast laser optics, THz science and technology, and applications. Has led and successfully executed more than 20 research projects financially supported by theNational Key Research and Development Program, National manned space program, National Natural Science Foundation of China,Special Support Plan for Talent Development in Tianjin and open research funds ofState Key Laboratories.He has already published more than 160 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. The total citation number of these publications is more than 7400 and the H-index reaches 46. Prof. Liuhas given more than 40 invited talks in international conferences worldwide. He is also committee member of serial of international conferences, including International Symposium on Filamentation, Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science, High-Intensity Lasers and High-Field Phenomena, etc.Based on his excellent achievement obtained during the past few years, Prof. Liu was awarded the ‘Wang Daheng’s Optics Prize for middle-aged and youth of the Chinese Optical Society’, Tianjin’s Outstanding Contribution Expert, first class provincial award of Natural Science, etc.

Pablo Albella is Ramon y Cajal (RyC) Researcher at the University of Cantabria, Spain and visiting researcher at Imperial College London, UK. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Cantabria (2009) awarded with the prize of best thesis in physics that year. He was postdoctoral researcher from 2010 to 2013 at the Material Physics Center (UPV/CSIC) in San Sebastian and guest researcher at CIC Nanogune at the same time. Later, he joined Imperial College London from 2013 to 2017 as senior research associate. His research interests and activities are mainly devoted to the field of nanophotonics. In particular, to the optical modelling and innovation of photonic structures able to enhance the optical performance of the actual nanodevices in applications such as sensing, spectroscopy, nanocircuitry, metamaterials or energy storage. He aims to, not only the electromagnetic understanding and application of plasmonics, but also to open new fascinating possibilities in the field using novel systems made of alternative materials.

Franky So received his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1991. He was the OLED research group manager atMotorola and his team demonstrated the first OLED QVGA video display in 1996. He joined OSRAM in 2001 and became the Head of the OLED research group. He joined the University of Florida in 2005 and became the Rolf Hummel Professor of Electronic Materials.In 2015, he joined North Carolina State University and is the Walter and Ida Freeman Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. So hasover 120issued patents and patent applications. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles with a Google H-index of 73. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Materials Science and Engineering Reports and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, IEEE Journal of Display Technology, ACS Applied Electronic Materials, SPIE Journal of Photonic Technology and Organic Electronics. So is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Photonics Society, a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a Fellow of IEEE, MRS, SID, OSA and SPIE.His current research is in the area of optoelectronic devices based on organic and hybrid materials including OLEDs, organic solar cells and hybrid quantum dot devices.

David has a 33-year career in research in academia, industry and government research laboratories in Canada, Japan and Australia. He was with the University of Sydney for over 15 years, the last 10 of which were with the ARC Centre of Excellence CUDOS. David still holds an honorary Professorial Fellow position with the University of Sydney. Professor Moss has over 520 publications including numerous articles in Nature family journals and conference papers with around 7000 citations and an h-index of 46. He is leading extensive international research networks in nanophotonics and other areas. David has been highly successful at winning ARC competitive research grants and has won a number of notable awards for his research including the 2011 Australian Museum Award and the Google Eureka Science Prize for Innovation. David is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and the IEEE.

Dr. Hai Xiao joined Clemson University in 2013 as the Samuel Lewis Bell Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, jointly affiliated with COMSET. Previously, he was a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) where he served as the founding director of the Photonics Technology Laboratory (PTL). Dr. Xiao received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he was a Member of Technical Staff at the Optoelectronic Center of Lucent Technologies/Agere Systems. From 2003 to 2006, he was an assistant professor of electrical engineering at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. From 2006 to 2012, he was an associate professor of electrical engineering at Missouri S&T. Dr. Xiao is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award in 2006, the R&D 100 Award in 2004, and the Virginia Tech Outstanding Achievement Award in 2003. Dr. Xiao’s research interests mainly focus on photonic and microwave sensors and instrumentation for applications in energy, intelligent infrastructure, clean-environment, biomedical sensing/imaging, and national security. Current research thrust areas include: 1) Novel optical/microwave micro/nano materials, structures, devices and sensors, 2) Fiber optic and microwave sensors and instrumentation for applications in harsh environments, 3) Ultrafast laser machining, processing/modification and characterization of materials and structures, and 4) Optical biomedical imaging, sensing, tomography/microscopy and spectroscopy. Dr. Xiao has co-authored over 160 technical papers and participated in 29 research projects, totaling about $14M in research funding in the past 10 years from various sources including NSF, DOE, ONR, NIH, ARO, national laboratories and private companies.

Liam O’Faolain’s research group focuses on developing efficient lasers and innovative sensors based on nanophotonics and integrated photonics. He spent 15 years at the University of St Andrews, before moving his research group to Cork Institute of in 2016, see www.cappa.ie . He is the author/co-author of more than 100 journal papers. His ”h"-factor is 42. He is currently supervising 13 PhD students and 5 postdoctoral research fellows. He has supervised 4 PhD students and 8 postdoctoral fellows in the past. Vasili Perebeinos is a Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Buffalo. He joined UB in 2018 from the faculty at an English speaking Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), Moscow, Russia, where he was since June 2014, after spending 11 years at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY as a Visiting scientist (for 2 years) and Research Staff Member (for 9 years), prior to 2 years at the condensed matter theory group at Brookhaven National Lab as a Research Associate. He received Diploma in 1997 in Physics with excellence from the Moscow State University and PhD degree in 2001 in Physics with Council Commendation from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. During his research career, he become a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2013. He has received three times the highly competitive “IBM Research Technical Accomplishment” award in 2005, 2006, and 2008 for “achievements that are significant scientific or base technology accomplishments or have demonstrated significant impact on IBM’s business”, best paper award by the IBM Materials Research Council in 2012, best performance recognition at Skoltech in 2015. Perebeinos’s research and teaching interests are in the area of advanced materials and nanostructures for electronics and optoelectronics, specifically 1D carbon nanotubes and novel 2D materials, which offer new opportunities in electronic and optoelectronic applications. His research aims to provide theoretical guidance for the experimental efforts to expedite the development of such devices with new functionalities including, but not limited to photo detectors, nanoscale light emitters, and quantum technologies. He is the author or co-author of over 80 journal articles, one book chapter, two review articles, and one US patent. His work was cited over 14,000 times (h-index 50 – google scholar).

Dr. Karthik Shankar is Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta. He completed M.S. (2002) and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in Electrical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. He was an Eastman Kodak research fellow (2003) at Penn State University. He obtained his B.Tech degree from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras in 2000 where he was awarded the Governor’s Gold Medal for all-round excellence. He joined the University of Alberta in 2009. From 2012-2017, he held a secondment to Canada’s NRC National Institute for Nanotechnology as a Research Officer. He made pioneering contributions to the growth, characterization and optoelectronic device applications of self-organized anodic metal oxide nanotube arrays. Recently, his research is focused on graphenic frameworks, plasmonic photonic crystals and hot carrier harvesting Schottky junctions as platforms for high performance, visible light-driven photocatalysis. He is a recipient of the Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award. He has authored over 150 journal articles that have collectively been cited almost 20,000 times. He has a h-index of 51. He serves as an Editor for the Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, Nanomaterials and IEEE Sensors Letters. Prof. Shankar serves as a referee for over two dozen journals including Nature Catalysis, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Chemical Physics Letters, ACS Nano, Nanoscale, etc.

Jennifer A. Hollingsworth is a Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Fellow and a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She received her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis in 1999. She then joined LANL as a Director’s Postdoctoral Fellow, becoming a Staff Scientist in 2001. She is currently the Thrust Leader for Nanophotonics & Optical Nanomaterials in the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT), a US Department of Energy Nanoscale Science Research Center and User Facility. She is author/co-author of >100 publications with >14,000 citations and an h-index of 48. She endeavors to advance fundamental knowledge of optically active nanomaterials, targeting the elucidation of synthesis-nanostructure-properties correlations toward the rational design of novel functional materials. Through chemical design, she has developed non-blinking, nonphotobleaching quantum dots spanning the visible and infrared spectral ranges for applications from ultra-stable molecular probes for single-particle tracking and medical diagnostic platforms to solid-state lighting and singlephoton generation. A recent focus of her group is scanning probe nanolithography for precision integration of single quantum emitters into metasurfaces and nanoantennas toward next-generation single-photon sources

Simon Thibault is full professor (Physics, Engineering Physics) at Laval University and Fellow of both SPIE and OSA. He is also principal optical designer at ImmerVision and Chair holder of the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Lens Design. Expert in optical engineering and lens design, he is Chair the International Optical Design Conference (2021 and 2025), Associate Editor with both Optical Engineering and Optics Express journal since 2014, and conference’ Chair of several conferences in optics (SPIE, IEEE, OSA). He is member of the board of director of Quebec Photonic Clusters, the Centre for Optics, Photonic and Laser, and Centre for Research in Astrophysics of Quebec. He is the author/co-author of 30 patents and more than 250 technical communications in well-know optics conferences and journals. His research interests are the develop tools and technique to design wide angle lens, foveated lens, lens design in extreme environment, space optics, non-paraxial propagation, new optical system using metasurfaces and deep learning in lens design.

Dr. Weidong CHEN received his PhD degree in Physics from the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille and is full professor with Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale (France). His current research interests include : Developments of photonic instrumentation for optical sensing and metrology of atmospheric species : trace gases (concentration, isotope ratios, vertical concentration profile) and aerosols (optical properties), for lab study in atmospheric simulation chambers as well as for field campaign measurements.

Ken-Tye Yong is a Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering and he also serves as the Associate Dean for External Engagement in the Faculty of Engineering at University of Sydney. His role focuses on the leadership and management of external engagement activities and programs at the faculty level. He is a member in the management committee of the Warren Centre and the Centre aims to promote excellence-engineering innovation in industry, government, and academia.

Vladimir Oliker received his PhD in mathematics from Leningrad University, USSR (the former Soviet Union). He has published over a hundred papers in the fields of pure and applied mathematics. He co-authored with R. Winston and L. Jiang the book Nonimaging Optics, CRC Press, 2021. Since 1984 he has been developing theoretical and computational methods for design of freeform optics. He is a Fulbright US Scholar, Senior member of the SPIE, and is a recipient of numerous research grants and awards

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the Institute of Modern Optics, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interests include intelligent photonics, optical communications and networking, optical interconnect, detection, imaging and display technology, integrated photonics, free-space and fiber Optics. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers and conference proceedings, three edited books, >50 issued or pending patents, >90 invited presentations.

Animesh Jha is Professor of Applied Materials Science with special research interest in glass based and nano-scale materials, photonic materials, laser gain medium engineering and laser-matter interaction. He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Engineering Degrees in Metallurgy from the University of Roorkee (UP, India) and the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (India) in 1979 and 1981, respectively. In 1981, he joined the Imperial College of Science & Technology, London for his PhD in thermodynamics of sulphide minerals for metal processing, and acquired significant interest in heterogeneous chemical reaction kinetics and multiphase equilibria. After finishing PhD in Oct 1984, he pursued his interest in the area of phase equilibrium and transformation kinetics in metallic and inorganic glasses as a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Sheffield (UK) until April 1989, after which he was appointed as a lecturer at Brunel University in Uxbridge (UK). In March 1996 he joined the University of Leeds (Leeds, UK) as a Reader where he has been undertaking original research in nanoscience approaches for bio-materials, glass engineering and 2D-materials technology for device engineering. AJ became Professor in Aug 2000. He is author of more than 400 research papers and has also written a book on “Inorganic Glasses for Photonics” which was published in 2016. He is also inventor/co-inventor on more than 45 patents. AJ was awarded the Fellowships of Institute of Physics (London) and the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2010 and 2016, respectively. He has also won innovation awards (SMART, Yorkshire Concept) for technological demonstration of advanced glasses and fibres for lasers and amplifiers, and their applications. He is actively involved in PhD and PDRF training and promotes emerging scientists in achieving career goals via Marie-Curie and other prestigious Fellowship schemes

Michele Merano received the Ph.D degree in Physics at EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland) where he worked in the group of Prof Benoît Deveaud. Then he did two post docs one at the Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée (Palaiseau, France) with Prof. Gérard Mourou and one at the Quantum Optics and Quantum Information group (Leiden, The Netherlands) with Prof. Han Woerdman. From 2011 he is professor of optics and condensed matter physics at University of Padua (Italy). His major research interests include light matter interaction, beam optics and optical manipulation. He has made important contributions to optics and materials science including the observation of the Goos-Hänchen effect in metallic reflection, the observation of angular deviations in specular reflection of a light beam, and the discovery of the role of the radiation-reaction force in the optical response of 2D materials.

Dr. Sayantan Das ( Faculty, Texas A&M University-San Antonio, College of Arts and Sciences) has a Ph.D. in Material Science Engineering from Texas State University. Dr. Das’s industry job out of graduate school was at Siotex Corporation, where he was the Senior Process Engineer and in charge of producing silica particles from rice husk’s using chemical and thermomechanical processes. He then moved to academia, during which he served as an educator and a researcher. The central theme of the research is applications of nanoparticles to create hierarchical structures on surfaces for photonic devices and sensor application(s), which resulted in many publications in refereed journals.

Prof. Alexander Bagaturyants is chief researcher at the laboratory of Quantum Chemistry and Molecular Simulations, Photochemistry Center RAS, Federal research center Crystallography and Photonics Russian Academy of Science. He also holds a full professor position at the Department of Condensed Matter Physics, National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" (Moscow). Alexander Bagaturyants was graduated from D.I. Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology, Moscow, Russia in 1962, obtained his PhD degree, Dr. Sci. degree, and the academic title of professor in 1968, 1987, and 1992, respectively, all in physical chemistry. His main research interests are in the field of atomistic multiscale simulations of organic functional materials. Alexander Bagaturyants is a co-author of more than 200 research articles and the book “Multiscale Modeling in Nanophotonics: Materials and Simulations,”

Kenji Murakami received his BE in Electronic Engineering from Osaka Prefecture University in 1976, and his ME and Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University, Japan in 1978 and 1983, respectively.He joined Shizuoka University in 1985 as an Assistant Professor of Research Institute of Electronics, and was a Professor of the Department of Engineering, Graduate School of Integrated Science and Technologies from 2014 and retired due to the age in 2019. Now he is a Specially Appointed Professor of Organization for Innovation and Social Collaboration, Shizuoka University. He was a Research Associate of the Pennsylvania State University, USA in 1983-1985, and a Visiting Scientist of the Max-Planck Institute of Solid State, Stuttgart, Germany in 1998 and 2000. His research interests are the research and development of energy conversion materials such as piezoelectric ceramics, dye-sensitized solar cells and mechanoluminescent materials. He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, and the Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science.

A.P. obtained the Ph.D. degree in physics at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (Nice, France) in 1997. After a Post-Doc at ULB (Brussels, Belgium), he obtained in 2000 an Assistant-Professor position at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis. At that time he started to work on nonlinear optics with partially coherent waves. Motivated by a close interaction with experimentalists, he obtained in 2005 a full research position at CNRS at the University of Burgundy (Dijon) where he started to develop the research theme on optical turbulence. In 2013 he was promoted Research Director at the CNRS. His research interests are optical wave turbulence, kinetic equations, Vlasov and weak Langmuir turbulence, condensation of classical waves, thermalization and the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam problem, shock and collapse singularities, disordered nonlinear wave systems.

Christophe Levallois received the Ph.D. degree in physics and optoelectronics from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA), Rennes, France, in 2006. During his thesis work, he studied Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSEL) based on InP materials. After a postdoctoral position in the field of optoelectronics and micro-optics in the Photonic group of the CNRS-LAAS in Toulouse, he joined the CNRS-FOTON Laboratory located at the INSA in Rennes in 2008 as an Associate Professor. He is mainly involved in cleanroom activities on III-V semiconductors. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 articles published in scientific journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include the design, the processing of photonics devices (VCSEL, lasers, and solar cells), and the electro-optic characterization of III-V semiconductors and photonic devices.

Ken Masamune received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. in Precision machinery Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1993, 1995 and 1999, respectively.From 2000 to 2005, he was a lecturer and associate Professor of Tokyo Denki University, and from 2005 to 2014, he was an associate professor of the University of Tokyo, Graduate school of Information Science and Technology. From 2014, he is currently full professor of Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Faculty of Advanced Techno Surgery (FATS), Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Sciences, and visiting professor of Waseda University, Joint Graduate School of Tokyo Women’s Medical University and Waseda University, Cooperative Major in Advanced Biomedical Sciences. His research interests include medical devices/robotics, mixed reality and clinical information systemsin medicine, and medical device regulatory sciences. Dr. Masamune is a board member of the International Society for Computer Aided Surgery, the Japan Society of Computer Aided Surgery, Robotics Society of Japan, Society for Life Support, the Society for Nursing Science and Engineering, etc.

Nicholas A. Peters received the B.A. degree summa cum laude in physics and mathematics from Hillsdale College, in 2000 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. In 2006, he joined Telcordia Technologies as a Senior Research Scientist, which later became Applied Communication Sciences (ACS). In 2012, he was promoted to Senior Scientist at ACS. In 2015, he joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as Senior Research and Development Staff Member. In 2016, he was appointed Joint Faculty Assistant Professor to The Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. In 2017, he was appointed to lead ORNL's quantum communications team. In 2019, he became the Group Leader for ORNL's Quantum Information Science Group. He has been a visiting researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology-Boulder, The Ohio State University, and Princeton University. He is a Member of The American Physical Society (APS), Sigma Xi, and a Senior Member of The Optical Society (OSA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is an active referee, primarily for APS journals, and has served as an Associate Editor for Optics Express since June 2016.

Yongli Zhao, is currently a professor of the state key laboratory of information photonics and optical communications at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). He received the B.S. degree in communication engineering and Ph.D. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology from BUPT, respectively. During Jan. 2016 to Jan. 2017, he was a visiting associate professor at UC Davis. He has published more than 400 international journal and conference papers. He is a fellow member of IET and senior member of IEEE and OSA. His research focuses on quantum Internet and AI in optical networks.

Monica Bollaniis a researcher at Institute of Photonic and Nanotechnology (IFN) at CNR in Italy. She obtained a European Doctor of Research in 2000 in Physics of Materials from the University of Aix-Marseille (France) and she worked for 4-year as research post-doc at the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Bollani has a broad and multi-disciplinary education integrated by an extended experience in sensors fabrication, in photonics and plasmonic, project management and lab and clean room operations. She worked for one month (February 2014) in the Molecular Foundry (LBL laboratory) in Berkeley (California) to develop a new nanofabrication approach to realize Ge plasmonic tipsand for two months (June 2019) at the same Molecular Foundry center to study high-index dichalcogenide nanoantennas.She is responsible of the nano and microfabrication activity on semiconductor materials at LNESS laboratory. Actually, she is P.I. for the European FET OPEN project “NARCISO”, an applied-oriented photonic research projects, she is CNR responsible of Marie Curie project (SONAR) and Italian PRIN project (NOMEN), both projects centered on silicon photonics.

Dmitry Zuev received the Ph.D. degree in physics at the Institute on Laser and Information Technologies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ILIT RAS) in 2012. In 2015 he joined Metamaterials laboratory (ITMO University) as a postdoc. Currently he is an Assistant professor of the Faculty of Physics at the ITMO University. His research interests include: plasmonics, dielectric nanophotonics, laser-matter interaction, nanofabrication. The main topic of his research group is hybrid nanophotonics, were resonant metal-dielectric nanostructures are developed and utilized to control optical fields at nanoscale for the application in quantum nanotechnologies, sensing, data storage and security labels. For his research he was awarded the Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences for young scientists in the field of general physics and astronomy in 2018 as well as the Award of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the St. Petersburg Government (Russia) in 2020.

I am a Postdoctoral Associate of Prof. Steven G. Johnson's group in the Mathematics department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I work at the interface between optimization, artificial intelligence, numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs), and scientific computing. In my early academic career, my areas of applications are mostly in inverse design (i.e. large scale optimization) of nanophotonics. I am interested in collaborative, interdisciplinary problems where research outcomes are larger than the mere sum of the contributions from each discipline. My philosophy is to develop methods through impactful applications rather than focusing on methods development alone.

I’m a Royal Society University Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde. I have a broad range of research interests, most of which fall under the banner of electromagnetic theory: to date I've enjoyed working on chiral light-matter interactions, conserved quantities like electric charge and optical angular momentum, atomic and molecular structure, ball lightning and dinosaur morphology. As a theorist, I'm always on the lookout for experimental collaborators. I’m passionate about public engagement and education.

Michael Atlan was hired in 2008 as a researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in experimental optical physics, instrumentation, and computational imaging. He works at the Langevin Institute (CNRS UMR 7587), and the Quinze-Vingts National Eye hospital (INSERM CIC 1423) in Paris. He develops coherent-light instrumentation and numerical processing methods for laser Doppler vibrometry, and blood flow imaging in low-light. His expertise is focused on methodologies involving optically-acquired digital holograms for sensitive coherent imaging at high throughput. He is the project manager of the versatile real-time digital hologram rendering software Holovibes, and the co-author of peer-reviewed journal articles, patents, and book chapters on the subject of holography.

Takeo Minamikawa received A.E. from Ibaraki National College of Technology, Japan, in 2004, B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. from Osaka University, Japan, in 2006, 2008, and 2010. He was JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists from 2011 to 2013, Assistant Professor from 2013 to 2015, and Visiting Associate Professor from 2015 in Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. He joined Tokushima University as Associate Professor from 2015. He is also PRESTO researcher in Japan Science and Technology Agency. His research interests include Raman spectroscopy and microscopy for medical and biological applications, nonlinear phtotonics and optical-frequency-comb spectroscopy and its applications.

Prof. Dr Masanobu Haraguchi was born in 1962. He received his bachelor and master degrees in electronic engineering from Osaka University. He was received the Ph. D. degree from the Osaka University in 1993. From 2009, he is a Professor at Tokushima University. He is interested in characteristics and applications of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) at nano metal structures. He is working on the research areas of SPPs from 1987 and metamaterials from 2008. Recent his main interests are metamaterials, channel-type plasmonic waveguides, and their application.

Noriaki Ohmaegraduated from the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Tokyo in 2006, and received Master and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Advanced Materials Science atthe University of Tokyo in 2008 and2011, respectively. From 2011 to 2017, he was a post-doc in the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Tokyo. From 2017 to 2020, he was a research scientist in Space-Time Engineering Research Team at RIKEN center for Advanced Photonics. From 2020, he is currently an associate professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Fukuoka University.His research interests include ultra-precise optical frequency measurement and its applications based on an optical lattice clock, an optical frequency comb and an ultra-stable laser.

Feng Qibo obtained the Bachelor and Master degrees from Hefei University of Technology in 1983 and 1986, respectively, completed the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Tsinghua University in 1993, major in Optical Engineering. Currently, he is chair professor in the Discipline of Optical Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University. He used to be the dean of the faculty of science from 2005 to 2017. His research interests mainly focus on Optical Measurement Technologies and Instrumentation, advance monitoring technology and equipment for railway. He has published more than 150 journal papers and achieved more than 50 Chinese patents including 7 international patents for inventions. He has acted as the principle investigator (PI) for presiding more than 100 research funding, including 1 National Major Scientific Instruments Project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 Key-Project, 863-project and 2 General Projects from NSFC. He has awarded the 1st and 2nd prizes in the Science and Technology Award from the Ministry of Education, PRC, and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, China respectively. He also was awarded for the 2nd prize in national teaching achievement, the 1st and 2nd prizes in teaching achievements in Beijing.

Dr Donaldson’s research interests are primarily associated with photonics and quantum communication technologies. Throughout his research career, he has worked on a range of next-generation quantum communications technologies, including quantum digital signatures, quantum amplification, quantum random number generation, and single-photon array detectors. His main research interests include: Novel photonic and optical devices for optical ground stations. Satellite and high-altitude platform based quantum communications. Quantum communication technology for space. As part of his Research Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering, Dr Donaldson is working with industrial partners to transfer technology from in-lab demonstrations out into industry. For his Research Fellowship, Dr Donaldson is associated with two established research groups at Heriot-Watt University; the Single-Photon Group and the Mostly Quantum Group

Marko Gutke completed his Master's degree in Photonics at Wildau University of Applied Sciences, Germany, in 2019, with a thesis on the simulation, fabrication and evaluation of polymer lenses for Chip-on-Board LEDs. He is currently working on techniques for Raman and optical spectroscopy of polymers, graphene and graphene transfer.

Dr. Andrey V. Kalinichev received a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from Saint Petersburg State University, Russia, in 2021 under the supervision of Dr. Maria A. Peshkova. His Ph.D. research focused on developing an expended theory of the response of polymeric chromoionophore-based ion-selective optical sensors to predict and modify the analytical characteristics of the sensors. Since 2020, he has been a teaching assistant at Saint Petersburg State University. Dr. Kalinichev’s research interests are primarily associated with polymeric ion-selective sensors, namely optodes and ion-selective electrodes. The scope of his interests also includes computer simulation of the sensor response as well as application of digital color analysis for addressing various analytical and practical problems.

Dr. Mable Fok is currently an Associate Professor and an Distinguished Faculty Fellowat the College of Engineering at University of Georgia. She received her B.S., MS, and Ph.D from the Chinese University of Hong Kong studying photonic signal processing for high-capacity optical communications. She finished her postdoctoral training at Princeton University in network security and neuromorphic processing prior to joining University of Georgia. Her research lab – WAVE Lab, aims to bring fiber optics and photonics techniques to inter-disciplinary areas, by understanding, designing, building a wide range of novel photonics-based systems and bio-inspired photonic systems. She has published over 200 journal and international conference papers and hold 3 US patents. Her work has been funded by National Science foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), UGA Office of the Vice President for Research, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Dr. Fok is the recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award, University of Georgia Creative Research Medal, Excellence in Research Faculty Award, Research Mentoring Award,and Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award.

Mahmoud Elsawy received his PhD degree at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, 2017 with a specialization in Optics, Photonics, and image processing. The topic of his PhD. was related to modelling and improvements of complex nonlinear plasmonic waveguides. He spent one year as a postdoctoral researcher at Institut Fresnel, Marseille, France. His research activities were dedicated to the field of nonlinear plasmonics and the modelling of hollow-core negative curvature optical fibres. From October 2018 until November 2020, he has been working as a postdoctoral visitor researcher at Inria Sophia Antipolis. He is currently working as an Inria Starting faculty Position (ISFP) at the Atlantis project-team. His research focuses on the numerical optimization of metasurfaces and complex linear and nonlinear nanophotonic devices.

Dr. Nadzeya Kukhta is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, in the group of Prof. Christine Luscombe. She received her PhD in Materials Engineering at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, under the supervision of Prof. Juozas Vidas Grazulevicius. Nadzeya's PhD research focused on the investigation of structure-property relationships of purely organic semiconductors for the OLED, OFET and OPV applications. Upon the reception of her Doctor degree, Nadzeya continued pursuing an academic career as a postdoctoral researcher at Durham University, UK, in the group of Prof. Martin R. Bryce. Throughout her 3-year position at Durham, Nadzeya has been designing, synthesizing and investigating photophysical properties of the emissive compounds exhibiting thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) and room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) phenomena. Nadzeya's current research interests include stretchable electronics, mixed conductors, bioelectronics and liquid crystals.

Minoru Watanabereceived B.S. and M.S. degrees in Opto-Electronic and Mechanical Engineering from Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan, in 1992 and 1994, respectively, and a Ph. D. degree in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Iizuka, Japan, in 2005. He joined Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Zama, Japan, in 1994, where he was a development engineer of embedded systems until December 1999. He was a Research Associate at the Department of Control Engineering and Science during January 2000--2003, and in the Department of Systems Innovation and Informatics during 2004--2006, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Iizuka, Japan. He is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan. His current research interests are programmable devices and optically reconfigurable gate arrays. Dr. Watanabe is a member of IEEE, the Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers of Japan, the Japan Society of Applied Physics, and the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers.

Gerwin Gelinck received his Ph. D. degree in Physical Chemistry from the Technical University in Delft, The Netherlands, in 1998. In that same year Gerwin joined the Philips Research as a Senior Scientist. In 2002 he was co-founder of Polymer Vision, an internal start-up company in the Philips Technology Incubator. From 2002 to 2006 he was Chief Scientist of Polymer Vision. In 2007 Gerwin joined Holst Centre, a collaborative research initiative by imec and TNO, where he managed the research program on organic and oxide transistors and its applications. Since 2019 he is CTO of TNO/Holst Centre. He is also part-time professor in the group of Molecular Materials and Nanosystems (M2N) of the Applied Physics Department at the University of Eindhoven. His research interests include various aspects of the physics, technology and applications of organic and oxide transistors, polymer photodetectors, ferroelectric and piezoelectric polymers and actuators.

Amira Guediche did her B.S. at Paris Sciences etLettres University. She received her master’s degree in physics from Aix-Marseille University and her engineering master’s degree from ENSAM, a French engineering school. She is currently a PhD student at the CEA (Commissariat à l'énergieatomique et aux énergies alternatives) and is working on techniques for a better understanding of laser damage caused by high power lasers on optical components and particularly on how to achieve reduced damage with an elastic coating on fused silica.

Takayoshi Shimura received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Nagoya University, Japan, in 1987, 1989 and 1993, respectively. He was an assistant professor from 1993 to 2007, and is an associate professor from 2007 of Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University. His research interests include semiconductor materials and processes for advanced electronic and photonic devices, and also x-ray imaging with innovative optics.

Full Professor of Physics at Faculdade de Tecnologia de São Paulo/Centro Estadual de Educação Tecnológica Paula Souza (since 1992), received her Ph.D. in Physics (1996) at University of São Paulo, with 28 years of research and teaching experience, leading pioneering research in glass photonics and novel nanocomposites for technological applications (integrated optics photonic systems, solid-state laser and photovoltaic devices), based on GeO2 and TeO2. The current research interests include plasmon assisted efficiency enhancement of rare-earth doped glasses covered solar cells, new fabrication processes of pedestal waveguides for optical amplification in the short-waveinfrared region, plasmonic effects on the optical gain of rare earth doped waveguides. Tomasz Czyszanowski received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Lodz University of Technology, Poland, in 2000 and 2004 respectively, D.Sc. degree in physics from Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, in 2012. In 2019 he become a full professor. After receiving his M.Sc. he was a visiting researcher at CFD Research Corporation, Huntsville, Alabama, where he worked mainly on optical scalar models of semiconductor lasers. His Ph.D. work involved studies on the validity limits of optical models used in simulations of semiconductor lasers. From 2005 to 2007 he was a post-doctoral researcher at Vrije University, Brussels, Belgium, on a fellowship awarded by the Foundation for Polish Science. There he analyzed the performance of photonic-crystal VCSELs. In 2012 he was appointed Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics at Lodz University of Technology, Poland. Current area of research of his research team and himself involves the modeling of GaAs-, GaN-, InP- based VCSELs, modeling, processing and characterization of irregular and coupled-cavity VCSELs, modeling of resonant, reflective and transparent subwavelength periodic structures.

Jakub Bělín is a junior researcher at CEITEC BUT research centre in Brno, Czech Republic. Jakub's research is focused on transformation optics (TO), which is a science of designing materials and devices with desired optical properties. He is specifically focused on designing TO devices built of simple and cheap optical elements, e.g. lenses. Jakub's role in his research group is working on the background theory, doing mathematical analyses of the designs and preforming numerical simulations. Last but not least, Jakub's research interest also includes wave optics and curved space-time physics

Maria Antonietta Ferrara received the degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy, in 2003. In April 2008 she got the Ph.D in Electronic Engineering with a thesis on Spontaneous and Stimulated Raman Emission on Nanostructured Silicon. Actually, she carries out her research at Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems, Naples, Italy. Her research interests are in fields of digital holography, polarization sensitive digital holography, volume holographic optical elements, optical sensors, silicon optoelectronics, nonlinear integrated optics devices with particular care for the stimulated Raman scattering in nano-structured silicon, nonlinear microscopy.

Shiva Rai, Strategic Marketing Manager at Applied Materials, leads the strategic initiatives in emerging photonics and RF device technologies. Over the past 15+ years, he has held various positions in multiple compound semiconductor industries including LEDs, Lasers and Solar Cells, leading technology advancements in MOCVD epitaxy/hardware design, device processing and product development. Prior to Applied Materials, he was worked at Bridgelux, Lumileds, Epiworks/II-VI and Izar Solar, a startup company where he led their solar cell technology development. Shiva received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Univ. of South Carolina and MBA in Marketing and Corporate Strategy from Arizona State University

Dr. Rahaim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Massachusetts, Boston. His current research focuses on ultra-dense wireless networks with specific interests in optical wireless communications, heterogeneous networks (HetNets), software defined radio (SDR), and dynamic/adaptive wireless networks. Dr. Rahaim received his BS degree in electrical and computer engineering from RPI in 2007, and his MS degree and PhD degree in computer engineering from Boston University in 2011 and 2015, respectively. Prior to graduate school, he worked as an embedded software engineer at Honeywell's FireLite alarms.He has published over 45 peer-reviewed papers and 2 book chapters with an h-index of 17 and over 1400 citations. He is a Member of the IEEE / IEEE Communications Society and an Associate Editor for the Optical Communications and Networks section of the Frontiers in Communications and Networks journal. He is also co-founder of the SDR-Boston user group and co-organizer of the annual New England Workshop for Software Defined Radio (NEWSDR).

Dr. Alessandro Greborio is co-founder, CEO and Chairman of Lithium Lasers srl, ever since the company was founded in 2019. He earned his PhD in Engineering on high power ultra-short pulsed laser sources at the University of Pavia (Italy). His passion for ultra-short pulsed lasers design took him first to Austria and then to Switzerland. He worked as R&D scientist for 2 years at Spectra-Physics (Rankweil) and for 5 years at NKT-photonics (Zurich). Today his focus as CEO lies on bringing to the market new laser solutions able to satisfy new requirements for ultra-short pulsed lasers as well as to bring this technology to a more mature level of industrialization.

Prof Chaoyuan Jin received the Ph.D. degree from University of Sheffield (UK). In 2008 he was awarded a JSPS Fellowship and worked on quantum dotswitches atKobe University (Japan). In 2010, he joined the Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands) working on ultrafastcontrol of cavity quantum electrodynamics based on single quantum dots in photonic crystal cavities.He joined EFFECT PhotonicsB.V in 2013. In his role as a Senior Photonics Scientist, he developed high-speed optical transceivers for short-reach optical communications based on generic photonic integration technologies. In 2015, He was awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellowship, working as a Lecturer developing research programs on ultrafast photonic devices at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Sheffield (UK). He is now working at Zhejiang University (China) and Zhejiang Labas a Hundred Talents Professor. His current research focuses on nanophotonic integration, quantum materials, nonlinear optics and optical computation.

Prof. Hong-Gyu Park received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon, Korea, in 1998, 2000, and 2004, respectively. He was a post-doctoral fellow with the Department of Chemistry, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, he joined the Department of Physics, Korea University, Seoul, Korea, where he is currently a full professor. His current research interests include high-performance nanolasers, subwavelength plasmonic laser/cavity structures, nanoscale photovoltaic devices, nanowire transistors/photodetectors, and neural recording using nanostructures.

Hereceived the B.S. degree in electrical and information engineering from Tibet University, Lhasa, China, in 2012 and the Ph.D. degree from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2020. Since June 2020, he has been an associate Professor with the Center for Information Photonics and Communications of Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China. His current research interests include advanced modulation formats, optical performance monitoring, and digital signal processing for optical communication systems.

Professor Michel Arrigoni has completed his PhD from ENSMA, France and continued with postdoctoral studies from Industrial Materials Institute, NRCC, Canada. He is the coordinator of a group of researchers dealing with fluid/structure interaction at Institut de Recherche Dupuy de Lôme, (CNRS Lab) at ENSTA Bretagne, in Brest, France, where he is also lecturer in shock, impact and explosion effects. He has published more than 35 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member and guest editor in some journals.

Itzik Malkiel is a doctoral candidate in the School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, Israel, and a senior researcher on the Recommendation Machine Learning Research Team with Microsoft Corporation. He received his BSc degree in computer science from the Hebrew University, Israel, in 2010. He received his MSc degree in computer science from Tel Aviv University, Israel, in 2016. Prior to joining Microsoft, he was a research scientist with GE Global Research and a senior software engineer and project leader. His current research focuses on machine learning (ML) and deep learning and includes topics such as medical imaging, computer vision, natural language understanding, and ML applications in physics.

Myoung-Gyun Suh is a research scientist at NTT Research, Inc. His main area of research relates to optical precision measurements and informatics. In particular, his work has focused on developing novel chip-based optical sources and exploring applications of these devices to precision spectroscopy, astronomy, optical communication, and computation. His recent scientific interests include integrated nonlinear optics, optical frequency combs, quantum advantage, neural networks, and other hardware for artificial intelligence. He received his B.S. in Physics (2004) from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, M.S. in Physics (2006) from National Taiwan University, and Ph.D. in Applied Physics (2017) from California Institute of Technology. In his earlier research career, he was fascinated by interesting light-matter interaction phenomena in photonic crystal structures and he studied two-dimensional photonic crystal lasers for his B.S. and M.S. degrees. After completing his M.S., Dr. Suh worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (2006 - 2011) where he developed high efficiency Gallium Nitride light emitting diodes and III-V multi-junction solar cells. He is a recipient of a Taiwan scholarship (2004-2006), Kwanjeong scholarship (2011-2015), and OSA Paul F. Forman team engineering excellence award (2020).

Hoyeong Kwon is an assistant professor of Electrical and Communication Engineering at Republic of Korea Air Force Academy, which she joined in 2020 after earning a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin. Her major is Electromagnetics and Acoustics. She has received her B.S. in 2013 in Electrical and Communication Engineering at Republic of Korea Air Force Academy, and her M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. She studied in the Metamaterials and Plasmonics research lab, and her research area is focused on ultrathin metasurfaces that can perform unprecedented phenomena, such as abnormal beamforming, ultra-broadband absorption, optical signal processing, and so on. She has participated in AFOSR MURI project ‘Attojoule Nano-Optoelectronics’ and proposed the nonlocal metasurface performing different types of mathematical operations with a single layer. Her recent interests are developing a non-reciprocal signal processing system and broadband absorber within ultrathin layers.

Dr. Takahiro Kaji was born in 1981. He received the Ph. D. degree in engineering from Osaka University in 2009. In 2009, he joined National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) after working as a specially appointed assistant professor at Osaka University. From 2015, he is a senior researcher at NICT. He is engaged in research and development of terahertz devices using electro-optic polymers.

Qilin Guo is a research assistant at Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. His research lies at the intersection of materials science and metal additive manufacturing. His current research focuses on the in-situ characterization of transient process dynamics (melt pool, melt flow, phase transformation, etc.) of laser-metal interaction during laser powder bed fusion process with high-speed synchrotron X-ray imaging/diffraction

Suganda Jutamulia received PhD degree in electronics engineering from Hokkaido University, Japan. He has been working in academia and industry for many years. He has coauthored 5 books, and edited 3 SPIE Milestone Series, and 8 conference proceedings. He served in the Editorial Board of IEEE Access; Proceedings of the IEEE, and others. He has more than 70 journal publications (an article receives more than 150 citations), 70 conference publications, and 14 US patents. His research interests include optical information processing. He is currently the Senior Principal Patent Agent with OmniVision Technologies, Inc., California, USA, working mostly with CMOS image sensor technology. He is a fellow of OSA and SPIE.

Konstantin E. Dorfman was born in Russia. He completed his B.S. degree in Physics from Nizhny Novgorod State University, Russia, in 2006. In 2009 he completed his Ph.D. degree at Texas A&M University. From 2009 to 2015 he worked as a postdoctoral scholar at Princeton University, Texas A&M University, University of California, Irvine, and a staff scientist in Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Dr. Dorfman is currently a Zijiang Endowed young professor of physics at State Key Laboratory of Precision Spectroscopy, East China Normal University, Shanghai. His scientific interests include atomic, molecular, optical, and chemical physics, quantum and nonlinear optics and nanophotonics, X-ray optics, ultrafast phenomena, and quantum thermodynamics.

Dr. Md Omar Faruk Rasel is currently working at the position of Associate Professor in the Physics Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh. Dr. Rasel completed his B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and then completed his Ph.D. degree in Integrated Design Engineering from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan in 2019 under the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship program. His current research interests include polymer optical waveguides, photonics switching/signal processing, optical communication technology and silicon photonics.

Dr. Syed Noor Qadri has over 15 years of experience in optics, organic/inorganic materials development and characterization. He has authored or co-authored over 35 publications, was a National Research Council Post-doctoral Fellow from 2014-2016, and a 2016 recipient of aKarles’ Fellowship. He is currently working as a research chemist in the Remote Sensing Division of the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. His ongoing research efforts are focused on novel diffractive flat optics and transparent ceramic material development, and their potential for emerging hyperspectral imaging technologies.

Vishal Gupta completed his PhD in Electronic Engineering at University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy. Currently, he is associated with the Department of Electronic Engineering at University of Rome “Tor Vergata” as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where he has also been associated with the Defect & Fault Tolerance Group. He is a winner of “Borsa di studio” grant in 2021 and recipient of “Fully Funded University Scholarship Scheme” from 2017-2020 for the PhD in Electronic Engineering by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), Italy. He has been awarded Young Researcher Award in 2020, Best Paper Award in Design & Technology of Integrated Circuit (DTIS) 2019, Young Scientist award & Young Scientist Fellowship award by the M.P. Council of Science and Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, India in 2016. His principal research interest lies in the field of Device Characterization and Modelling, Design issues in Nanotechnology (Memristors, FinFET, CMOS), VLSI Design and Design for Testability (Analog & Digital), Fault-Tolerant Design techniques, Manufacturing Defects, Process Variation & Yield and Reliability Characterization.

Kaichen XU is currently a ZJU-100 Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University (ZJU). He is a key member of the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power & Mechatronic Systems and senior member of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. He received the PhD degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2018 and then moved to Osaka Prefecture University (OPU) as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow in Japan. His research mainly includes hybrid laser manufacturing of multifunctional flexible sensors and systems’ integration.In the past five years, over 20 papers have been published in Adv. He was invited to serve as a Corresponding Expert ofEngineering, a journal launched by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Editorial Board of Opto-Electronic Engineering. Dr. Eduardo F. Fernández obtained his PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2012. Nowadays, he is Ramon y Cajal Researcher and PV manager at the CEACTEMA of the University of Jaén (Spain). He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of photovoltaics working in several prestigious institutes, universities and private companies. Dr. Fernández has published over 80 papers indexed in ISI JCR, and presented +50 contributions in the most relevant international conferences and workshops. Dr. Fernández is also member of +5 academic and scientific societies, and co-inventor of several patents.

Yi Yang is an assistant professor in the Science and Engineering Division at Penn State Abington. Dr. Yang is also serving as one of the team leads for the 3D imaging team under AIC’s imaging working group. Prior to joining PSU, he worked as an ORISE Fellow at the FDA. He obtained his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University; B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Kansas. Dr. Yang’s research interests include: applying Optical Conference Tomography (OCT) sensing for art conservation; building a LIDAR based artificial echolocation system to improve the spatial awareness of visually impaired users; integrating an electrical wheelchair with sensors to achieve L2 autonomy; building a handheld “smart e-ruler” for ophthalmic and non-ophthalmic users to efficiently measure convergence.

Anna V. Bogatskayawas born in Moscow, Russia. She received the Ph.D. degree in physics in 2016 from Moscow State University (MSU), Moscow, Russia. Now she is working at the position of Associate Professor at the Physics Department MSUand Senior Scientist at the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics. Scientific interests of Anna V. Bogatskaya cover the problems of radiation propagation in GHz-THz range in a non-equilibrium nonstationary plasma of atomic and molecular gases, in particular, the problems of amplification and detection of terahertz signals. In addition, one of the areas,actively developing by A.V., is the study of radiocommunication blackout problem of fast-movingaircraft during the re-entry in dense layers of the atmosphere.

Junfei Shen received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in State Key Laboratory of Modern Optical Instrumentation of Zhejiang University, China, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He is an Associate Professor in department of opto-electronic, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. Dr. Shen’s current research interests include computational imaging, artificial intelligence, multispectral imaging, and medical vision. Dr. Shen owned silver medal in 44th international innovation competition of Geneva in 2016 and was awarded the Wang Daheng Award in 2018.

Dr. Bin Zhang isassociate Professor of State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. He received the Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-Sen University, China, in 2011. He ever served as a visiting scholar at the Australian National University (2014-2015) and a research fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2015-2017). He joined the State Key Lab of Optoelectric Material & Technology at Sun Yat-Sen University as an associate professor in 2017. Dr. Zhang’s current research focuses on intelligent photonics, nonlinear optics based on chalcogenide glasses, optical communications and interconnect. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers.

Dr. Zhenguo Lu is a Principal Research Officer, Team Lead of Photonics and Project Leader of National Challenge Program “High-Throughput and Secure Networks (HTSN)” at Advanced Electronics and Photonics (AEP) Research Centre of National Research Council (NRC), Ottawa, Canada. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of both University of Ottawa and Concordia University in Canada since 2006. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1992, he was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Research Fellowship to conduct research for the Institute of Semiconductor Electronics, RWTH Aachen, Germany for two years. Then he worked at Terahertz Research Centre of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY, USA from 1995 to 1997. Dr. Lu came to NRC as a Research Officer in October of 1997. From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Lu was the Director of R & D of BTI Systems Inc., Ottawa, Canada. He has re-joined NRC as a Senior Research Officer in April of 2002. Dr. Lu is an expert in the field of photonics devices and their applications in optical coherent networks, data center networks, 5G & beyond wireless networks and satellite communications. He has published over 250 refereed journal and conference proceeding papers, and 8 US patents. He has given over 50 invited talks in the international conferences, universities and industry companies.

Dr. Ming Yan received a B.S. in Electronics Engineering (2007) and a Ph. D degree in Optics (2012) at East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). He was a postdoc researcher at Max-Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (Garching Germany, 2013-2017), and then joined the State Key Laboratory of Precision Spectroscopy, East China Normal University in 2017 as an associate professor.Hewas appointed a full professor in 2019. His research interests includefiber lasers,optical frequency combs,laser spectroscopy and imaging.

Prof. Almas Sadreev received the first Doctor degree in condensed matter theory from Kazan State University in 1974, the second Doctor degeree in condensed matter theory from L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, Krasnoyarsk, USSR in 1990 and Honourus Causa Doctor from Linkoping University, Sweden in 2002. Currently he works in the position of the Head of lab. of theory of nonlinear processes in L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, Krasnoyarsk, Russia. His research intersts includes first of bound states in the radiation continuum in photonic structures; spontaneous breaking of symmetry in photonic structures owing to the Kerr effect; engineering of high quality factor in photonic resonators; resonant optical manipulation, optical forces sorting and deformation of dielectric particles; acoustic transmission.

Tsampikos Kottosis Professor of Physics & Mathematics at Wesleyan University. He received his Ph.D. from Univ. of Crete in 1997 and he subsequently joined the Weizmann Institute of Science as a postdoctoral fellow. Between 1999 and 2005 he was senior researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization (Non-linear Dynamics group) in Germany. His research interests include linear, nonlinear, and non-Hermitian wave transport, Semiclassical theories and Random Matrix theories for chaotic/disorder systems, and mesoscopic physics. He has published more than 150 papers (H-index 39 -- googlescholar). In 1997 he received a US European Office of Air Force R&D Fellowshipand in 2006 the International Pnevmatikos Award for outstanding achievements in nonlinear physics. In 2019 he was awarded the Wesleyan Prize for Excellence in Research. During 2013-2015 he became the Bennet University Endowed Chair, awarded to a newly tenured associate professor exhibiting exceptional achievements. In 2015 he was elected invited Researcher A at CNRS, Nice, France. In 2019 he became the Lauren B. Dachs Endowed Professor of Science and Society at Wesleyan University.

Dr. Kun Huang, professor in East China Normal University.He received PhDs from École Normale Supérieure - Paris and East China Normal University in 2015, then did post-doctoral research in Pierre-and-Marie-Curie University. He has published more than 45 academic research papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, and Optica. His current research interests include single-photon detection, quantum state preparation,fiber lasers, mid-infrared generation and frequency-comb spectroscopy.

Anishur Rahman did his PhD in Photonics from the University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia. After his PhD, he moved to the UK to take up a postdoctoral position at the University College London where he is currently based. Anis works with levitated quantum optomechanics involving optical tweezers and lasers. In the past, he has demonstrated laser refrigeration of levitated Yb3+ : YLF nanoparticles. His most recent works include optical levitation, non-linear tweezer potentials, and parametric feedback cooling using broadband light. His research interests include macroscopic quantum mechanics and entanglement

Agostino Iadicicco received the electronic engineering degree (cum laude) and the Ph.D. in optoelectronics in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Engineering of the University of Naples Parthenope, Italy and serves as the Associate Editor for the IEEE Sensors Journal. Since 2002, his research activity has been focused on the development of new fiber optic and photonic sensors for wide range of applications. Currently he is involved in the design, realization and testing of novel gratings in standard and unconventional fibers including polarization maintaining and photonic bandgap fibers and on the development of in-fiber SERS probe. His work in this area encompasses the development and practical application of sensors for the measurement of a range of physical, chemical, and biological parameters.

Dr. Niv Recieved his Ph.D. from the Technion (Israel) in 2008. Since 2014 he is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Energy and Environmental Physics of the Ben-Gurion University (Israel). Avi Niv specializes in Solar cell optics, thermodynamics of radiative systems, and nano and nonlinear optics.

Gunter Larisch received the Diploma (M.sc. equivalent) degree in applied physics from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in 2011 and a Ph.D. in science in 2017. 2017-18 he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. In 2018 he accepted an Associate Professorship at the “Bimberg Chinese-German Center for Green Photonics” at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and as head of its High-Frequency Lab. He still is a guest scientist at Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. The number of publications is 42 with a Hirsch factor of 18.

Dr. Park is the director of Future & Basic Technology Division, ETRI. In 1996, he received his Ph. D in Physics from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. From 1996 to 1997, he worked on large scaled photonic integrated circuits in microelectronic science lab of Columbia University as a postdoctoral research fellow. From 1990 to 1999, he was with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul Korea, as a member of research staff, where he was engaged in research on the functional photonic devices.Since1999, he has joined the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Daejeon, Korea, where he has been continuing his research on photonic devices. He was in charge of WDM photonic devices team and next generation photonic device team in ETRI. He demonstrated various photonic devices for the optical communications. He opened the terahertzphotonics research center at ETRI, leading terahertz research for the past 10 years. His current focus is the pioneering of terahertz technology applications. He is a SPIE fellow and a member of the SPIE photonics west and advanced laser technologycommittees.

Prof. Zhongqi Pan received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, all in Electrical Engineering. He has worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University, and a Medical Image Processing System Engineer at 301 Hospital, Beijing. He joined the University of Louisiana (UL) at Lafayette in 2003, and currently is a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He also holds BORSF Endowed Professorship in Electrical Engineering II, and BellSouth/BoRSF Endowed Professorship in Telecommunications. Dr. Pan’s research is in the area of optical fiber communications, including photonic devices, wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) technologies, optical performance monitoring, coherent optical communications, and space-division-multiplexing (SDM) technologies. He has authored/co-authored over 180 publications on optical devices, nonlinear optics, and fiber communications systems, including 12 books/book chapters. He also holds 5 U. S. patents and 1 China patent. He has received the award for Excellence in Academic Advising in 2012 and Outstanding Academic Advisor Award in 2006 from UL Lafayette, and National Invention Award in China in 1998. Dr. Pan is an OSA and IEEE senior member. He has served as a member of OSA’s External Relations Advisory Committee. He also has served as the guest editor for several Special Issues for Applied Sciences, the Committee member and the session Chair for SPIE Photonics West, Subcommittee Co-Chair for the International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), the Technical Program Committee for the IEEE International Conference on Communications Systems, the IEEE Photonics Global Conference, and the IEEE Annual Wireless & Optical Communications Conference (WOCC), and as reviewers for numerous IEEE and OSA journals

Hui Li received the Ph.D. degree and became a lecturer of the School of Instrumentation and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beihang University, China, in 2009. She obtained an Associate Professor at Beihang University in 2015. She was awarded excellent young engineer of Beijing in 2020. She has authored or coauthored more than 40 articles in journals and conferences. Her research interests include optical sensors, integrated optics, signal detection, signal processing and robust control.

LiPEI, Professor of Beijing Jiaotong University, her current research interests include high speed optical telecommunication network, optical fiber sensor, ROF, key technology of optical fiber communication，optoelectronic integration and so on. She has been a leader of more than 10 projects in China, include National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar, Hi-Tech research and Development Program of China, New Century Excellent Talents Project of Ministry of Education, and so on. She has authored/co-authored more than 200 journal and conference papers, and more than 100 patents and software copyrights in her research field.

Ni Chen received the B.S. degree in software engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Chungbuk National University and Seoul National University, Korea, respectively. She is currently a Research Fellow at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. From 2014 to 2016, she was a Research Scientist with the University of Hong Kong, and from 2016 to 2017, and she was an Associate Professor with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2018 to 2019, she was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. Her research interests include three-dimensional optical imaging and display.

Shuguang Li received the B.S. degree in Physics from Shanxi Normal University, China, in 1988, the M.S. degree in Physics from Jilin University, China, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in Optoelectronics from Yanshan University, China, in 2004. Since 2000, he has been with the Department ofPhysics of Yanshan University.Since 2007, he has been a Professor in the Department ofPhysics of Yanshan University. From September 2012 to March 2013, he was avisiting scholar atInstitute of Optics, University of Rochester. His main research interests are "Special Fiber and New Photonic Devices" and "New Fiber Sensors Based on Microstructure Fiber".Li's research achievements include more than 160 papers and 10 invention patentshe has made contributions tothe design and fabrication of photonic crystal fiber or microstructured fiber. Dr. Li is a member of the Optical Society of America, a member of the Chinese Physical Society, a member of the Chinese Materials Research Society.

Xiaofeng Shi received the M. Sc. Degree (2005) and PhD degree (2012) from Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China. During Sep. 2010 to Sep. 2011, she did research as a Ph.D. student in Technical University Berlin , Germany. Currently, she is working as an associate professor at Ocean University of China, China. In recent years, she has devoted herself to the application of optics in marine research. She has published more than 20 scientific papers in Opt. Express, Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, Applied spectroscopy, etc. Her main research interests include: Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS), Optical Manipulation and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

Xavier Zambrana-Puyalto earned his PhD at Macquarie University in 2014. Now, he is a Marie-Curie Researcher at the Plasmon Nanotechnologies unit of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Genova. He has some experience in most of branches of nano-optics, including theory, design and implementation of optical experiments, scattering, fluorescence, and nanofabrication.

Feng Feng received his B.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China in 2009, and the PhD degree in Photonics Engineering from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, the UK in 2014. He is currently an assistant professor with Key Laboratory of Opto-electronics Information Technology of Ministry of Education and Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronic Technologies and Devices in Tianjin, School of Precision Instruments and Opto-electronics Engineering, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. His research involves using advanced wavefront shaping techniques for beam steering and modal control in multimode fibres. His current research interests also include optoelectronic device design, fabrication, and integration.

Haibo Liu received the B.Eng. degree in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation and the Ph.D. degree in mechatronic engineering from Dalian University of Technology (DUT), Dalian, China, in 2006 and 2012, respectively. Currently, he is a full professor and doctoral supervisor of school of mechanical engineering at DUT.He is IEEE member, ASME member, senior member of Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering (CSME).His main research interests includeoptical precision measurement, on machine/in-situ measurement-machining integration, and digital machining technology.He has published over 50 peer-reviewed SCI international journal papersand over50authorized or pending patents.His scientific research achievementshave been recognized by two first prizes of science and technology progress in Liaoning Province(3/10, 4/11), one first prize of science and technology progress in China's machinery industry (6/10).

Xiaobei Zhangreceived the Ph.D. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2009. He is currently working as a Professor at Shanghai Key Laboratory of Specialty Fiber Optics and Optical Access Networks, School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University. His major research interests are specialty fiber devices, resonators and optoelectronics.He has been a leader of more than 10 projects in China and Shanghai, including National Natural Science Funds forExcellent Young Scientists. Heserves as Associate Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Applied Sciences. He has authored/co-authored more than 80 journal and conference papers in his research field.

Shixiang Xu: born in 1965, completed his PhD in 1998 from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, China. In 2006, he was awarded Shanghai Pujiang talent Fund. His current position is a professor of Shenzhen University, and his research interests include ultrashort pulse laser, ultrafast imaging and pulsed terahertz optics. Now, he also serves as a member of Laser Professional Committee of Chinese Optical Society, and one of the Councils of Guangdong Optical Society of China. Up to date, he has published more than 130 papers in peer-reviewed journals and authorized more than 30 patents.

Luigi Sirleto is a research scientist, working at National Research Council of Italy. In september 2001, he spent 2 months at Institute of Nanotechnology, University of Twente, (NL). In July 2003, he spent 9 months, as a visiting scientist, at Electrical Engineering Department of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles)-USA. In september 2006 he founded the Ultrafast and Nonlinear Optics Lab at Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems (ISASI) of CNR and he has led the research activities of the same, until now. He is co-author of over 190 papers, mostly on nonlinear optics and photonics devices. He has served as a reviewer of many international journals and as a committee member of many national and international conferences.

Dr. Liu Hong He obtained his M. Eng and PhD from the Dept of Mechanical Engineering of National University of Singapore. He has joined Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore since 2003. His research interest is mainly focused on the development of advanced nanopatterning technologies for tunable metasurfaces and nanpphotonics devices, artificially engineered materials and nanoplasmonics, optical nanolithography and etc. Currently Dr Liu Hong is heading the Nanofabrication Department in IMRE to advance the science and engineering of structured materials at micro and nanoscale and offer nanofabrication R&D services.

Ran Gao received the Ph.D. degree in electronic science and technology from the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Advanced Research Institute of Multidisciplinary Science, Beijing Institute of Technology. His research interests include fiber optical sensors, optical waveguide, and measurement instruments.

Zhao Xiong is an Associate research fellow,Research Center of Laser Fusion,China Academy of Engineering Physics. Graduated in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University,Beijing,China. The objectives of his research are (Ⅰ) to understand assembly,installation and integration of large laser facility, (Ⅱ) to develop key processes and tools forming the foundation for XX-Ⅲ Laser Facility’s long-term LRU production and maintenance strategy and (Ⅲ) to explore multi-step alignments and close-loop of “assembly-measurement -adjustment”.

Hiroaki Furuse received his Ph.D. degree from Osaka University in 2007. During years 2007-2013, he worked as a researcher in Institute for Laser Technology (Japan) and developed high average power ceramic laser sources. He was an assistant professor of Kitami Institute of Technology (Japan) from 2013-2018. From 2018, he is an associate professor of Kitami Institute of Technology. His research interests are currently focused on non-cubic transparent ceramics, bonding technique for high-power laser optics, and their laser applications.

Junqi Liu, is currently a professor at the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also a post professor in materials physics and chemistry in the college of materials science and opto-electronic technology, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his PhD degree in materials science and technology from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and joined the faculty of the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. In recent years, his research has focused on quantum cascade lasers and published more than 130 papers in peer reviewed journals and >20 invited presentations at academic conferences. He has been granted more than 30 patents.

Dr. Xu is a full Professor of Air Force Engineering University since 2019. Currently, he is also a guest professor of Hengyang Normal University. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed first-author and co-author journal papers in Nature Materials, Nature Photonics, Light: Sci. Appl., Proceedings of IEEE, Advanced materials, ACS Photonics, Advanced Optical materials, Photonics Research, IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagations, Physical Review Applied, Physical Review B, Annalen der Physik, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Express, Scientific Reports, IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, IEEE, Transactions on Magnetics and IEEE Microwave Magazine, etc. He has also published 3 Chinese books, 1 English books and 2 English book chapters. He served as an editor of AEU Int. J. Electron. Commun since 2014, a guest editor for Special Issue “Metamaterial Circuits and Antennas” of ‘International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering’ in 2018, and served as an invited reviewer for more than 20 leading journals including Light Science & Applications, etc. He has owned 24 China patents and has given more than 21 invited talks. He served as a special session chair 16 times and a TPC co-chair/member more than 16 times in international conferences. His research interests include passive/active metamaterials/metasurfaces, and their applications to novel microwave functional devices and antennas. Dr. Xu received the 8th China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2013. He won the best Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award at Air Force Engineering University in 2014 and later received the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from Military, Shaanxi Province, and Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE). He has hosted several programs such as the National Science Foundation of China, the Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province, Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province, China Scholarship Fund, and First-Class General and Special Financial Grant from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He receives the URSI GASS Young Scientist Award, URSI AP-RASC Young Scientist Award, and URSI EMTS Young Scientist Award and ACES Young Scientist Award in 2019 and several Scientific and Technological Progress Awards like Gold Award of National technological invention. Dr. Prithvi Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in department of Physics at Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, INDIA. He has an approximately twelve years of research and teaching experience. Dr. Growden received a BS, MS, and PhD in electrical and computer engineering from The Ohio State University in 2010, 2015, and 2016, respectively. After finishing his PhD, he remained at OSU for 2.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher and a co-P.I. for multiple National Science Foundation grants and then joined the US Naval Research Laboratory as a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow for 1.5 years before transitioning to a federal employee in 2020. He has over 10 years of experience with III-nitride-based semiconductor device design/modeling, fabrication, and characterization. His focus is on quantum tunneling phenomena and their applications in wide-bandgap high-speed (sub-THz/THz) and optoelectronic devices. He has authored or coauthored over 35 articles/proceedings, 1 book chapter, and 2 patents.

Ugo Tricoli earned his PhD at Heidelberg University (Germany) in 2015. Now, he is a permanent researcher at ONERA (The French Aerospace Lab) in the Optical unit. He has some experience in optics, including radiative transfer theory and diffusion processes (optical or thermal) in complex media as the Earth atmosphere or biological tissues.

Mohammad Ismail Hossain, Ph.D.,is presently carrying out his postdoctoral research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Hong Kong. Dr. Hossain is also serving the department of Applied Physics of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Hong Kong as a Research Associate.Besides, he supports Prof. Akhtar’s Photovoltaic group in the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) of UniversitiKebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia as a Research Associate.His current research focuses on perovskite-based high-efficiency solar cells, multispectral-image-sensors, metasurfaces, LEDs, Omnidirectional UV reflectors thin-filmmaterials for optoelectronic device applications.Hehas authoredmore than35 SCI journal articles, where some of his recent high-qualityworks are published in prestigious journals in the field, such as Nano Energy, Small Methods, Nano-Micro Letters, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, etc. His research outcomes are presented at almost all major scientific conferences (total: >28, includingPVSEC, MRS, SPIE, PVSC, IEEE, Nanoenergy) in photovoltaic materials and energy research. He was awarded for both poster and oral presentations during the Nanoenergy conference in 2019. Dr. Hossainhas earned his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Hong Kong. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (EE) from Jacobs University Bremen (JUB), Germany. He completed his bachelor's degree at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). He was a Research Specialist in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of University of Connecticut (UCONN), USA. He has been affiliated as an Assistant Professor of the EEE department, AIUB (Currently On Leave). Before his academic career, he served the communication department of Radiant Corporation, Bangladesh as a Project Engineer.

Igor Khanonkin received his B.Sc. summa cum laude in Physics in 2014 from the I.I. Mechnikov National University of Odessa (Ukraine). Currently, he is pursuing his PhD degree in the group of Professor Gadi Eisenstein at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Israel). His research interests include coherent light-matter interaction in quantum dot - based devices, ultrafast carrier dynamics in semiconductors, dielectric permittivity of anisotropic systems, and surface-induced liquid crystals phases. He has been awarded with N. Bogolyubov scholarship and fellowships from the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute, the Helen Diller Quantum Center, and the Jacobs Foundation in his undergraduate and graduate studies.

Dr John Buckeridge is from Cork in Ireland, and received a first class BSc in Physics from University College Cork in 2004. He completed his PhD there under the supervision of Prof. Stephen Fahy on the topic of modelling defect scattering in dilute nitrides. After graduating in 2011, he moved to the Department of Chemistry in UCL to work with Profs. Richard Catlow, Aron Walsh and David Scanlon, using a variety of modelling techniques to investigate the fundamental properties of materials used in energy conversion devices. His expertise includes atomic scale and multiscale computational modelling of semiconductor materials, with a focus on defect properties. In 2019 Dr Buckeridge was appointed Lecturer in Energy Engineering and Materials Devices at the School of Engineering, London South Bank University. He is co-chair of the EPSRC Collaborative Computational Project in Quantum Computing.

Omar. Mohamed Ben Farah (BEng, MSc, PhD, HDR) is a research associate in the Institute for Signals, Sensors and Communications with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Prior to this position, Mohamed was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in information technology and signal processing in the national engineering school of Gabes at the University of Gabes in Tunisia and the head of the encryption and image processing Research Group in Laboratory of Electronics and Information Technologies at the the University of Sfax. Prior to joining the University of Gabes, Mohamed was an assistant lecturer at the University of Gafsa, Tunisia. Mohamed is a reviewer for world leading academic conferences and journals and is the Outreach Lead of the Blockchain Group for IEEE UK and Ireland. Alois Lugstein received his PhD from the Technical University of Vienna in 1998 and the habilitation in Solid State Electronics from the same University in 2013. Since 2014 he is Assoc. His work focuses on low dimensional Si- and Ge-based materials and nanomaterials, their integration in electrical and optical nanodevices and further electronics transport and MOS device physics. Dr. Wen-Yong Lai is a full professor at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his PhD from Fudan University in 2007. He then joined the Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays, Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM), Nanjing University of Posts & Telecommunications. His research mainly focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of organic & polymer optoelectronic materials for organic/flexible electronics. He is also interested in the exploration of novel materials and processes for printed electronics.

HoukunLiang received the Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2011. From 2011 to 2014, he worked as research scientist in Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Singapore. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. From 2016 to 2019, he worked as principal investigator in Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Singapore. In 2019, he joined Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, as a full professor. Dr Liang’s current research interests include mid-infrared ultrafast lasers,nonlinear optics and random lasers.

Karel Žídek is the leader of the group of computational spectroscopy at the research center TOPTEC, IPP CAS, Czech Republic. The group focuses on the topics of computational imaging, hyperspectral imaging and ultrafast spectroscopy. KŽ gained his MSc and PhD title at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. His work was devoted to the ultrafast processes in the silicon nanostructures. After his PhD defence in 2010, he pursued his carrier as a postdoc at the Dept. of Chemical Physics, Lund University (Sweden). He focused on the study of electron dynamics in light harvesting materials and photosynthetic complexes. Since 2016, he has started to build his own group at the research center TOPTEC, where he is currently affiliated.

Dr. Yijie Shen is currently a Marie S.-Curie research fellow of Nanophotonics & Metamaterials Group (Nikolay I. Zheludev group) in Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton, Southampton, UK, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie MULTIPLY Fellowship. He received the Ph.D. degree in optical engineering at the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and automation from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. During Mar. 2019 to Jun. 2019, he was invited as a visiting researcher in School of Physics: Structured Light Laboratory (Andrew Forbes group), University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University), Johannesburg, South Africa, and also invited as a visiting researcher in National Laser Centre, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Pretoria, South Africa. He is a member of the Chinese Optical Society (COS) and Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and an invited member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), specially a fellow member in the Systems and Instrumentation Group in which. He won the Wang Da-Heng Optics Award (COS, China) in 2019. He is a national first-grade computer aided designer and cartographer in China. He is a senior reviewer of journals Opt. Lett., Opt. Omar S. Magaña-Loaizareceived his B. S. from the Instituto Nacional de Astrofisica, Optica y Electronica in 2010. He received a Master and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 2012 and 2016, respectively. His doctoral dissertation was in the area of quantum coherence. He was a Research Associate in the Quantum Nanophotonics Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder from 2017 to 2018. He joined the faculty of Louisiana State University as an Assistant Professor of Physics in Fall of 2018. Now he leads the Experimental Quantum Photonics Group. His research group investigates novel properties of light and their potential for quantum technologies. He has published over 40 research articles in Nature and Science Journals, Applied Physics Reviews, Reports on Progress in Physics, Optica, and Physical Review Letters. His research is currently being supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, National Science Foundation and the Army Research Office.

Dr. Qingli Li received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and engineering from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in pattern recognition and intelligent system from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China, in 2006. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting scholar at Medical Center, Columbia University, New York, USA. He is currently with the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Multidimensional Information Processing, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China. He is the author or coauthor of more than 100 papers published in various international journals and conference proceedings and a Principle Investigator (PI) for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects. His research interests in biomedical engineering include molecular imaging, biomedical optics, and pattern recognition. He is a senior member of IEEE and member of SPIE. He has been also an Associate Editor of IEEE ACCESS, since 2018, Editorial board member of International Journal of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery.

Dr. Liyong Ren is currently a professor in the School of Physics and Information Technology at ShaanXi Normal University. He completed his Ph. D degree in Optical Engineering at Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2004. He was once a lecturer working at Northwest University from 1995 to 2001, an associate professor and professor working at Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of CAS from 2004 to 2019, and a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow working at the University of Electro-Communications(UEC) from 2007 to 2009. MahtabAghaeipour received her B.Sc. (2005)and M.Sc. (2008) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Yazd University and TarbiatModares University, Iran, respectively.In 2017, She also received her Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Lund University, Sweden.Since then, she cooperates as a research fellow with the telecommunication-photonics group at Technical University, Berlin, Germany. Dr. Zhenzhu WANG received a Ph. D degree in Optics (2011) at Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of sciences (Hefei, China). He was ever a visiting researcher at Chiba University (Japan, 2009, 2013) and at Institute of Atmospheric Optics (Russia, 2016,2018), and joined the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of sciences in 2004. He was appointed an associate professor in 2015. His research interests include algorithm development for lidar measurement of aerosol and cloud, Lidar system development, Multi-sensor remote sensing of aerosol and cloud, and radiative transfer calculation related to lidar products.

Johannes Schmidt is a postdoctoral researcher at the TeraFERMI beamline at Elettra Sinchrotrone in Trieste, Italy in the group of Andrea Perucchi. He received his Ph.D in Physics under the supervision of Manfred Helm at the free-electron laser FELBE at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf investigating strong light-matter interaction in the THz regime on 2D electron gases. Further studies continued the focus on 2D systems and metamaterials in the group of Miriam Vitiello at NEST Laboratories in Pisa. At the moment his research interests are in the areas of spectroscopy with longitudinal electric fields, THz non-linear optics and THz detectors.

Yutaka Fukuchi was born in Tochigi, Japan, on April 29, 1975. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Tokyo University of Science, Chiba, Japan, in 1998 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2003. In 2003, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University of Science, Tokyo, Japan as an Assistant Professor. From 2013 to 2014, he was a Visiting Research Fellow with the High-Speed Optical Communications Group, Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark. He has published over 150 papers in major international journals and conferences. His research interests are optical communications, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, and their applications. Shawana Tabassum is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler, where she directs the Laboratory for Integrated Micro-nano Biodevices. Jacopo Pedrini is a postdoctoral researcher for the Department of Materials Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca, where he received the PhD in Materials Science and Nanotechnology in 2017. The aim of his PhD was the development of both organic and inorganic nanostructures for the application to renewable energies and biological imaging. Dr. Alexander Khmaladze received his Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, where he developed and assembled a dual-wavelength digital holographic microscope, which he used in live cell studies. He published a number of papers on digital holographic phase imaging. He then accepted a postdoctoral position at the Chemistry Department of the University of Michigan, where he built a multiplex CARS imaging system, which was used to rapidly acquire and process hyperspectral images of live cells. He also studied mechanisms of nano-particle penetration of cellular membrane for drug delivery. He then worked on the application of near-infrared Raman Spectroscopy to monitoring of tissue constructs implanted in mice, with the ultimate goal of applying this technique to human patients. Dr. Khmaladze joined the physics department of SUNY at Albany in September 2014. Jesús del Hoyo received the M.Sc. degree in fundamental physics and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Universidad Complutense in Madrid (UCM), Spain, in 2011 and 2016 respectively. His Ph.D. work, developed at the Institute of Optics (CSIC), was focused on waveguide direct laser writing in dielectric materials. He worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at Femto-St (CNRS-UBFC), Besançon, France, focused on the laser material processing using Gauss-Bessel ultrashort laser pulses. Currently, he is a Postodctoral Fellow at the Optics Department (UCM). His current research interests include ultrafast laser micromachining, characterization using polarization properties, development of sensors and numerical simulation of light propagation.

Han Wu received the PhD degree from the Key Lab of Optical Fiber Sensing & Communications (Education Ministry of China), University of Electronic Science & Technology of China, Chengdu, China. He was with Tampere University, Finland, as a joint-training PhD student from 2018 to 2019. He is now an associate researcher in Sichuan University. He has authored or co-authored over 30 papers in international journals, including Optica, Optics Letters and Optics Express, and his research was highlighted in Optics in 2014 by OSA Optics and Photonics News. Xiaoguang Zhao (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University. Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and his M.E. and B.S degree from Tsinghua University. Dr. Zhao’s research interests include metamaterials, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), terahertz science and technology, microelectromechanical system (MEMS), and RF circuits and system design. Wei-Chao jiang received the B.S. degree in Xi’an Jiaotong Universality and the Ph.D. degree in Peking University. He is currently a associate professor at Shenzhen University. From 2010 to 2015, he was a doctor student in the group of Prof. Liang-You Peng at Peking Univerisity. From 2015 to 2017, he was a postdoc fellow in the group of Prof. Joachim Burgdöefer at TU Wien. His research interests are in attosecond physics and strong-field physics. He has a lot of experience in developing parallel computer programs to simulate the processes of ionization and high-order harmonic generations when the atoms are exposed to the extreme laser pulses.
